It took me a while to finish this book as it was so boring. The first 20% is nearly all about his work as a Lawyer. Then it moves to Greece.
The hero and heroine are really bland characters. There is no chemistry between them and very little emotion in the story. It takes ages for them to have sex and considering Christos is so scared of having a child, he doesn't bother using any protection and then panics she might be pregnant.
It was a chore having to read this and I only finished it because it was an ARC (received via Netgalley).

4+ solid stars
I love Maya Blake.
The fact that she can give me a slow burn, a great build-up and a kickass heroine in a harlequin is mind-blowing and definitely not sth you often get in these types of books.
I'm only taking away 1 star for the fact that the ending felt a bit rushed and I wanted a teensy bit more grovel from the hero.
But still, I really loved this one.
And I'm really happy I found this author!

Bit too much of a slow burn, to be honest, which I didn't expect from this line. The romance and passion took a long time to even happen, let alone develop, but it all worked once it clicked in. Thought Christos was borderline too-much at times, like when he decides he wants his wife and not just in name only, but that was somewhat to be expected, so I can't really complain. Overall, the ending felt a tad rushed, but it was a nice ride along

Christos stands to inherit his grandfather’s Greek island until his cousin comes into the picture. Christos, a lawyer has a marriage of convenience with his assistant Alexis. As the story develops the reader learns about their early life and how this has influenced their adult life.
The appearance of the cousin means that Christos and Alexis must up the tempo of their marriage, which begins to awaken desires and feelings. Can Christos get past the barriers of his past and give Alexis a true marriage that she deserves and yearns.
I felt that the story dragged a bit but then once things began to heat up and we learnt more about the character beginnings, I found it became more of a page turner.
It was a nice, easy going read with a stronger willed female character. A perfect Mills and Boon read.

The Greek’s Hidden Vows is the first book I have read from the Mills and Boon Modern series and it definitely won’t be my last! It was a quick read and perfect for the summer as its set on a beautiful Greek Island 🏝
I love a fake fiancé trope, so a hidden marriage of convenience was even more exciting. Top that with a sexy Greek Boss who is also your secret husband and there isn’t much more that you can want from a romance - it definitely ticks all the boxes.
The story was quite slow in the telling, but this really helped to build up the sexual tension between Alexis and Christos until it was burning hot!
There was some very steamy scenes but actually the story focused more on the difficult and very different upbringings that they both had and how it had a huge significance on their adult life.
Definitely one to read if you like a romance!

Island-ed A Catch!
This was fine, a good book, it just didn’t blow my mind or anything. Some aspects seemed repetitive in an effort to hammer home details that could have been handled in a subtler way. I did enjoy finding out about Alexis and Christos’ pasts and how they were shaped by the events. There were times however when the two of them annoyed me, just little things. I’m glad I read it and I enjoyed the story so I’d definitely say it’s worth a read!

another romantic read
I have always enjoyed the HR books that had romantic settings (such as Greece or Italy) (Spain & London as well, but not as much). It has been interesting to read different cultural practices, food (lifestyles of the rich). I enjoy entering the “Calgon take me away” worlds of relaxation (Yep, I’ve just dated myself, oops).

Way and above too slow moving.
I kept waiting for the ‘romance’ part of this romance. There was some side-stepping, a little dancing around each other. Some ‘heated glances’, and a time or two, the odd kiss. But then, immediately it was everybody back to their own corner.
At the 63% point, I gave up, and closed it out.

There was some odd sentence structure or cadence that threw me off a couple times. Might have been a writing style choice.
I like that this started 1 year into their fake marriage and 2 months after their one time hook up.

This was the first book in awhile that I have read a Harlequin Presents, and it didn't disappoint. It had the right amount of angst and a HEA.

I enjoyed this book
I have always wanted to visit the Greek islands. Reading this book made me believe that I was there. I enjoy stories with strong female characters.

It’s a competently put together, though the pacing was off and the protagonists don't spark alone or together. And really, no condoms? Seriously?
