I fell in love with Scarlett Cole’s writing the minute I read the first Preload book, Jordan, and once I ran through those I started on the Second Circle series and while both series wrecked me in different ways, they were also filled with a sense of hope and family these characters made for themselves. I was thrilled to read The Sweetest Gift and that’s exactly what this story was; a gift of spending time with these much beloved characters once again.
I loved catching up with all these characters seeing what was going on with their lives, how their relationships have progressed, and a glimpse into what’s to come. The whole gang is gathered in Miami to witness the wedding between Reid and Lia and it is loud, messy, crazy, and of course with this group sexy as hell. We see so much love.
Fans of these two series by Scarlett Cole will love every minute of this holiday novella and if you’re like me you’ll be immediately ready for a re-read of both series.

This was a fabulous heartfelt catch up with the guys, and girls of the Second Circle and Preload Series. From Dred, Pixie and Petal, Lennon and Gia to Cujo and Drea everyone gets a mention and are all at different stages in their lives with some engaged, some married with children and others expecting for the very first time.
And so, The Sweetest Gift is loud, messy, sweet, sexy, emotional, fun, and full of family feels; and I genuinely enjoyed and adored every single moment of it, and through it all I could truly see how special these characters are.
Would definitely recommend.

Oh my, Cole did it again. I loved so much to be back in her Preload and Second Circle universe, both these series are among my favorites. And here, I got glimpses into all the characters future lives through fairly short stories from a big variety of point of views.
There's sweetness, there's love, there's family, and there's a lot of hotness!

This book has all of the couples of both series. We see them moving on with their lives. Some of these stories are hot and fun. Some others are emotional and moving.
All of them have one thing in common. These men and their women along with their kids are a close family. I love their bond and their relationships.
I could have read more and more about them but this author closes these two series with this novella that will leave you just happy!

OMG, yes, this book is what I needed, without knowing that I needed it. I’m a huge fan of both the Second Circle Tattoos and Preload series, and though all of those books and the series ended well, this collection revisits the couples of both series and provides beautiful closure for the characters that I love so much.
It’s Christmas, and the gang are all gearing up for Reid and Lia (The Darkest Link)’s wedding. It’s a continuous storyline, with each chapter forming a bonus epilogue for each of the couples, written from the perspective of a different character (usually the heroes *swoon*) as we check in and see where they are at and what they have been up to in the months and years since they found their happy endings. And OMG, the feels!
Full of swoony declarations, sweet moments, big reveals, passionate encounters and a whole lot of love, I was grinning like a cheesy fool through most of this book. But, keeping it real, our couples have faced challenges, and I love that Cole didn’t shy away from giving them hard times to live through. But never fear, all is well, everybody is happy and still very much loved-up, and I loved every moment of seeing them live out their HEAs.
This is a gem of a read, and a must-read for fans of these two series. I’m riding a blissful high and still completely in the zone, so I’m starting a reread of both series, and I’m freaking excited to experience these amazingly beautiful and emotional stories all over again.

Scarlett Cole has reunited all our favorite beloved characters from the Second Circle Tattoo and Preload series, and written the most perfect holiday novella that I absolutely adored.
There was nothing that I didn't love about this book. It's a messy, funny, sexy, give me all the feels type of story that you can't put down. It sucks you into its world and you devour it page by page.
You don't just read the words. You feel them.
I laughed. I cried. I fanned myself off.
It was simply put... perfection.
I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to catch up with these characters, and I hope it's not the last we see of them.
Warning: May cause dehydration from crying. Make sure to have plenty of tissues and bottles of water nearby. ♥

Let me please start this review with declaring my undying love for Scarlett Cole's Second Circle Tattoos and Preload series. I've devoured these books and consider them to be among my top favorite reads. Those characters feel real to me. I've watched them grow and evolve, overcoming various obstacles and challenges the universe threw their way. They all came out of it stronger than before with the help of their friends. If I've learned anything from these wonderful books it's that you can't choose the family you're born into, but you can create the one you want. Blood makes you related, but loyalty makes you family.
I've been emotionally invested in these stories and always wanted to know what's happening in the lives of my beloved Miami and Toronto tribes. When Scarlett announced that she's publishing this Christmas novella where she is revisiting her famous characters from these series and giving us an update on everyone I wanted to dissolve in tears of happiness. I couldn't wait to to get my grabby hands on it. And let me tell you, that this novella was more than I could have ever dared to dream about as a die-hard fan. Scarlett Cole has not only met all my expectations, and trust me they were very high, she by far exceeded them. Now I'm writing this with tears in my eyes and a happy, content heart. This incredibly gifted author has fed my soul with her beautiful and poignant writing. Her exceptional talent shines on every single page. You can tell that these characters have never left her head and that they still sound as authentic as ever. This novella is told in multiple POVs. Every chapter is narrated by another character but they're all intertwined and happening around Christmas in preparation of and during Lia and Reid's wedding. I went through a caleidoscope of feelings while reading them. Some made me laugh out loud because they were so funny and entertaining while others made me sob because I was so deeply touched. This fantastic novella was indeed the Sweetest Gift Scarlett Cole could have ever given to her fans. And I'm so very grateful for that. I'm giving this perfection 5+ well deserved stars and a place of honor on my top reads of 2020 shelf.

Oh boy, how am I supposed to write a review for this sexy, sweet and heartwarming masterpiece that brought so many tears of pure happiness and joy to my eyes? I have butterflies in my belly and feel like I'm floating on clouds, because being finally re-united with my favorites from the Second Circle Tattoos and Preload series was nothing short of amazing! The Sweetest Gift was indeed the most thoughtful and extraordinary gift Scarlett Cole could have ever given to her fans. I devoured this novella in a couple of hours and never wanted it to end! I absolutely love this author's exceptional writing. She has a way with words and knows how to deliver a great story with depth, full of emotions and multi-layered characters you can't help but fall in love with.

So excuse me while I ramble my way through this review... as soon as I heard that Scarlett was bringing us a catchup read for both the Second Circle and the Preload series I wanted to throw my cash at her to get these words asap... if you've read these books before you will be as desperate as me to read what they've all been up to since we last read about them and wow what a read this was!
I had EVERY SINGLE EMOTION and so many FEELS when reading i was a mess!!!
I don't know how you do it lady but these guys all just bring out your talent so much.
So basically every couple/person has a chapter in this short read but every single chapter doesn't fail to bring its a-game...from happiness and being content to families becoming more and developing in ways they could never have imagined.
As much as I loved each and every one I can say that seeing the diva that is Petal more grown up was hilarious... Daniel gave me the feels and goosebumps and too see them all get their HEA was amazing.

This story truly was the sweetest gift from Scarlett Cole, giving her readers a chance to visit with some of our all time favourite characters that we have missed so much. A story that made me cry, laugh and warm my heart. This book stole my heart and held it tight as I reflected on how much these characters had affected me in ways I had forgotten. The words wound their way under my skin and sort to lodge firmly on my soul. In a year where we were all pushed to our limits and at times surrounded by darkness this story was the bright shining light that some of us needed.

I already loved all these characters but this read made me fall for them even more.
I'm a sucker for knowing what's happening in any character's life after reading the main book so it was The Sweetest Gift (pun intended) for me when I saw that this book was coming out.
Trent's book was my first read from Ms. Cole. And then I just had to read them all. So I'll agree with Harper that Trent is a glue guy after all.😁
And lastly, I just simply love the way Ms. Cole writes.

It may not be Christmas yet, but this novella indeed is a good read for the season as it has #blessed written all over our favorite characters from these two beloved series (note to self: I must read the rest of the Preload series, stat! NO regrets though reading ahead or unaware almost 50% of the book!).
And what a perfect way to meet and reunite the gang again through a wedding! I have to admit that this is a bittersweet read simply because their HEAs (if I may call them that since I feel this is a sort of compilation of epilogues of each of the couples, right?) are as real as it gets. Sometimes I wonder if my favorite couple deserves it, but I love how this can be poignant because it made me realize that true love is still being happy on good days AND bad days. And I guess that is the main takeaway of the story. That and keeping your friends/ family closer than ever.
I still point out that this is too darn short as a revisit to my favorite couple. But I say this as a compliment because you don't want it to end when you love some characters or book series so much. I still wish for more of these characters, but for now, I am glad this book will tide us over.

The Sweetest Gift – I am certain that it is us readers who are the recipients of this gift because being reunited with those Second Circle Tattoos and Preload guys and girls has been incredible. Spending the day with so many of my favourite people…. I couldn’t have wished for more!
I could easily write an essay regarding my feelings about this novella. My heart is full and the smile on my face is wider than a mile. I must mention how the author wrote this story because I felt that it was perfect. One continuous story leading up to a special event and each chapter focusing on one of the main characters from both series…. perfection!! The story flowed seamlessly too, which is all due to Ms. Cole’s incredible talent.
Readers of both series will already know that we’ve met some of the most incredible characters that not only stole our hearts but are now our friends. Catching up with each of them and seeing what is happening in their lives today was for me, very emotional. They are one huge family and it was fabulous to see that the bond they all share is as strong as it has always been. There is one particular scene in relation to the Preload guys where I had to step away from my kindle and take a moment, simply because they were doing what so many of us take for granted and for them all to get to this point…. let’s just say I’m filling up with tears thinking about it.

This is way more than 5 stars. 10+++ for sure! I'm so very thrilled the author decided to share this with us! From the note at the beginning, she really wrote this for herself, to revisit this favorite world during a time when our own world is so ... meh. Stupid pandemic! But at the same time, I'm grateful for the love & creativity that's come out during 2020, so ... : )
Anyway, this story is definitely a gift! We get to catch up w/ our Preload & Second Circle peeps, and every chapter blesses us with a revisit with each of the guys & gals. We even get chapters showcasing Petal & Daniel, which I think was a brilliant move!
I don't want to do a review of each chapter, because that would give away too much, but I will say grab some tissues for a few of the chapters. Happy, happy tears were shed! And the ending... Petal brings so much joy!! And Harper says something to Trent that just ... SWOON. Seriously, this story brings the swoon & is exactly what fans of these guys & gals all needed this year.

What an absolute treat this book is! You need to have read Scarlett Cole’s Second Circle Tattoos, and Preload series for the best enjoyment. You’ll be lost if you don’t. Also, if you haven’t read those two series yet you need to read them. ALL. OF. THEM! Scarlett reeled me in with the Strongest Steel ( Second Circle book #1 ) and I have been obsessed with her books ever since. This book was a gift for her devoted fans who have been begging for more from both series. Seriously, I didn’t stop smiling through the whole damn thing. It was like coming home and seeing your very best friends.
Can I just say how much I still love Jordan from Preload?! And I’m still feeling stabby about what Scarlett put my man, Lennon, through in his book. I’m learning to forgive. It’s a long road, but I’ll get there...maybe. 😉

The sweetest gift c'est vraiment un cadeau que nous fait Scarlett Cole pour Noël en nous permettant de nous replonger dans deux sagas que j'ai adorées. Nous retrouvons au travers de dix chapitres tous les personnages qui ont fait notre bonheur et nous verrons ce que ce noël leur réserve. Le mariage de Reid et Lia sera le point d'ancrage pour des retrouvailles tout en émotions et en sensations.

One of the best series I’ve ever read, ever, is the Preload series about a heavy metal rock band. I don’t know how many times I’ve read different books in the series but it’s a lot. I’ve also read another series she wrote from which she wrote the Preload series and that is the Second Circle Tattoos series. The Sweetest Gift is a wonderful novella that catches us up on all the characters from both series. It would be too complicated and too long to get into each one, but each chapter is an update for each couple. And I love it.
You absolutely have to read all the books in order for this to make sense but as I strongly recommend each and every book in these two series, you will be a winner reading them and this book. It makes me smile and go ‘aaahhhhh’.

Cole includes an author's note at the beginning describing how this is as much a Covid quarentine exercise, something cheery and for the fans, as a firm addition to the series. The entire cast of the Second Circle Tattoo and Preload series reunite for Lia and Reed's wedding, and Cole gives us a collection of vignettes of each of the couples and characters as all get ready for the big day. It's lovely and funny and romantic. Definitely for fans who've already read all the books of both series as characters and their relationships to each other aren't re-explored and there are a ton of spoilers. Reading this made me happy, but I couldn't help but want more.

Tears and laughs and a visit from old friends!
I can't speak highly enough of how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE it when authors go back and revisit characters from their past books and give us an update beyond the HEA we get in the original story. Scarlett Cole does an incredible job of doing this with characters from two of my favourite series - Second Circle Tattoo and Preload. What I loved the most is that these are REAL LIFE style endings from these characers ... it's not all love and laughter and sex. Nope. We get cancer, down syndrome, fostering/adoption issues, pulling away from a partner... And every minute of this book will just have you aching for more!! Loved loved loved this story!!!

Loved
I loved these characters and while the Preload books were emotional tough I lost myself if them. This books was funny, tear jerking and steamy. If you haven't read the two series I recommend you stop and get busy. Scarlett after the tough the tough run you deserve praise. I loved this book...😍😍😍😍😍😍

Absolutely a page turner and how fantastic to catch up with the crew again. How far they have all come and so heartfelt how passionate and emotional they are towards their families.

Marvelous and heart warming!!

Loved this book! It's A great story to catch up with all the amazing characters from the Second Circle and Preload series. Keep in mind I don't think it would seem as good if you haven't read the prior books. For fans it's a must read!
