Ghost hunter Shane Ryan has returned to 125 Berkley Street, his home in Nashua, New Hampshire. Working with old friends and new allies, he continues his investigation of the robberies and deaths involving haunted items, hellbent on discovering who’s responsible for these sinister crimes.
But his investigation turns up more than he bargained for when he discovers a sinister presence lurking near a crime scene. Miriam Shaw, the ghost of a woman murdered by her lover, has been unleashed. Once a beautiful, free-spirited woman, Miriam still exerts a seductive power over weak-willed men…
As this vengeful wraith and her followers spill innocent blood in Nashua, Shane finds himself locked in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a shadowy enemy. The man behind the robberies is determined to put an end to Shane’s meddling, by any means necessary.
Forced to battle an army of killers, Shane must draw upon every shred of courage and skill he possesses. But even if he can survive this all-out assault, will he be strong enough to resist the lure of Miriam, and her siren-song?
Ron Ripley is a husband and father surviving in New England, a place which seems to be getting colder every day. He grew up across from a disturbingly large cemetery where he managed to scare himself every night before going to bed. Mostly because of the red lights that people put in front of the headstones. Those things are just plain creepy to a kid.
Ron enjoys writing horror, military history and driving through the small towns of New England with his family, collecting books and giving impromptu lectures on military history to his family, who enjoy ignoring him during those dreadful times.
In this fourth book in the Death Hunter series, Shane Ryan kicks butt and takes names. Alex, the subdued little boy in the Worthe's Village series, has become a human monster due to a head injury. He now leads a motley crew of haunted artifact thieves and will stop at nothing, literally, to achieve his goals. Problem is, Shane is standing in his way and Alex tries several times to eliminate him. Shane, being Shane, is not going to take that standing still, much to the misfortune of a whole lot of armed assassins sent to take him out. If that weren't enough of a challenge, Shane is also dealing with the ghost of a woman murdered in 1957 who has a talent for getting men to do her bidding with feminine charm. This all makes for a gripping tale. Ron Ripley is excellent at spinning a ripping good story and this one doesn't disappoint. There is action aplenty - even the soft-spoken Carl takes a turn at being a badass. I loved it. The story isn't neatly wrapped up at the end, so at least one more book is in the offing. I cannot wait.
Next up in Ron Ripley's DEATH HUNTER Series, ghost hunter Shane Ryan, the enigmatic Series protagonist, demonstrates his multiple skills as the ongoing haunted object robberies reach very close to home. Additionally, Shane's friend Tom discovers perturbing news about the possible next level for which the robberies have been orchestrated, and Shane and a State Police Captain who is newly initiated into the ghost protocol race to stop a newly arrived long-dead ghost lady whose impetus to travel leaves a trail of ugly multiple fatalities wherever she and her haunted object go.
You've never thought of ghosts this way until you've walked with Shane Ryan, former career Marine who grew up in a wildly haunted and dangerous home. Prepare for high body count and escalated gore level. These ghosts aren't playing, and the insane evil mastermind is possibly worse.
Shane Ryan is such a compelling character who, together with the some of the Berkeley Street ghosts being featured in this series, is bringing all of us fans a seriously cracking good read.
Alex, who originally was a nice boy, is now a total psychopath using Abel Worthe and testing Shane to his limits. (I haven't read the book/series where Alex had his accident that altered his psyche but I don't suppose it matters now?
This is Ron Ripley again at his best although there has never been a bad offering from him.
Fabulous as always! Ron Ripley never disappoints, and this book was just as awesome as the rest.
A pair of seemingly innocent sunglasses is causing havoc, the ghost wants to travel, and a cold-blooded murderer at the same time. She uses those around her to kill. Shane is working to end her little game, but he is running into some roadblocks, and this ghost is pretty tough.
Great read! If you love Ron Ripley's books, this one will delight you!
Mr Ripley always writes a great book characters are great .Things are coming together which will be a big clash just hope Shane has a good outcome without being beaten to a inch of death but dough this to be the case !just hope he finds some happiness .
Really looking forward to the next book in the series. Loved the banter between Shane and Mariam. Nice blend of of nourish characters in a horror setting.
I always look forward to his books! Cannot wait for the next one to come out. I do not look forward to the day when he decides to "retire" Shane & friends. They are wonderful characters with whom I enjoy sharing a horrifying adventure.
I absolutely love Shane Ryan and his ghost on Berkley Street and the house these are great reads I have read almost all of them Wonder if Stephen King has read any?
The Mistress of Death is leaving a trail of destruction behind her, while Shane is still trying to figure out who the mastermind is behind the thefts of haunted objects. Well written and sharply plotted, the book was an engrossing read.
I love Ron Ripley's books this one is no different. I love seeing shame at his best I won't spoil the book by saying to much but this is one book you really do need to read. Once you do you won't be able to stop.
Mistress of Death Desth Hunter Series 4 of 6, Ron Ripley, another superb Shane Ryan story tracking ghost Hunters, battling ghost Hunters and Ghosts on route. A sprinkling of love Jacinta , always worry something will go wrong. Gripping page turner, very enjoyable. 4* kindle.
As always, I am never disappointed with Ron Ripley's writing! He is engaging with great character personalities. I can't wait to see how it all plays out.
I’m so glad Ron Ripley writes so quickly. As soon as I see another Shane Ryan book out I grab it up and devour it. I hope the next one is coming out soon. I like where Shane Ryan’s character is going. Keep on pumping out books Mr. Ripley, I’ll be right here waiting.
I absolutely love me some Shane Ryan but I do feel at time sometimes the meet up between him and the ghost is anticlimactic. With that being said I still love Shane ryan
