World War 2 began on September 1st, 1939, and from its very first fiery shots, it dictated the tempo of this new and modernized form of warfare. It was a war unlike any other. It was the modern war. It superseded the Great War of the early years of the 20th century and overshadowed its scale and complexity. In the following book, we will cover the essential moments of World War 2 – those defining events of modern history, whose magnitude dictated the fate of the entire globe.
Avery quick overview of WW2. I was surprised that 1. Very little was said about the holocaust and Germany's ethnic cleansing 2. No mention of the Blitz where Germany repeatedly bombed London 3. No mention of the roughly 3 year seige of Leningrad by the Germans. 4. Regarding Pearl Harbor, my understanding was that the US had an inkling it was going to be bombed but due to miscommunication they weren't prepared for it. 5. The same goes for the Philippines.
I previously listened to the WW1 book by the same author, I felt it was a better book with the final chapters going into more detail on items left put of the bulk if the book.
Audiobook: This was my first experience with History Nerds' and Aleksa Vučković's work. It was a quick overview of World War 2 focusing on the highlights of the confrontation. I found it fascinating. I was disappointed that it was so short. I wished that it had been longer with a little more detail. For those readers who were looking for a brief summation of World War 2, this material would be sufficient. Gary Williams' narration was good, and his performance kept me interested in the material. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.
This is an adequate PG quick review of the Second World War, which can be skimmed in about an hour, beginning with its antecedents in the Great War, aka the First World War, and the subsequent Depression, and continuing through the various military campaigns. It was collated by Aleksa Vuckovic, for whom English is not the primary language.

Two and a half, I guess? Learned some stuff and I know they are going for concision but wild that so more time was spent on the advances in tank tech than the Holocaust. Also, the work is bookended by announcements of political neutrality which strikes one as odd in this particular context. First and last of anything by the “History Nerds”.
This is a brief history of WW II covering the main highlights leading up to and including the war itself. This book is okay for a starting point but I wouldn't stop here if you really want to learn about the war. Also, it does seem to have some awkward English usage.

A VERY GOOD OVERVIEW OF WW2 THAT ESPECIALLY POINTS TO THE TECHNOLOGY AND CASUALTIES OF THAT GENERATION. 60 MILLION DEATHS OF WHICH 40 MILLION WERE CIVILIANS.
