A CELEBRATION OF ALL THINGS CANINE AND DIVINE!

No one loves dogs or writes about them quite like William B. Miller. While living on the island of Kauai, he adopted a special mutt who had been abandoned and was found wandering by the side of the road. Combining his Texas roots and new Hawaiian home, he named his new buddy Nawiliwili "Wili" Nelson. By the time they moved to Louisiana, William and Wili had become best friends and made some extraordinary memories together. When his faithful one-in-a-million canine companion was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given only three months to live, Miller's whole world fell apart. But eight months later, on a paw and a prayer, the dynamic duo embarked on The Last Howlelujah Tour, a 5,000 mile epic journey from New Orleans to Las Vegas, sharing Wili's story that God (and Dog) is Love, and that our relationships - human, canine, and divine - matter above all else. Blazing his barketlist trail on borrowed time, Wili, the unlikely canine hero, inspired thousands of Americans to come together to make a pawsitive difference in their communities. Funny, profound and heartwarming, The Last Howlelujah offers "Tails from the Trail" from their unique adventure - a caninical collection of inspirational stories that will delight and refresh your soul. Saint Wili of Woofster, a dog given up for dead, offers a powerful witness that, by God's grace, it's never too late for a miracle.

Deeply Soulful, Lyrical, Hilarious and Moving!

There is much that I wasn't expecting to find in the pages of this book, and yet there it all was. This is far more than a story about a boy and his dog; it is a compendium of parables written in first-person autobiographical humorist narrative that grabs you by your own spirit-leash and trots you right alongside it. I laughed, I cried, I was spiritually refreshed and renewed, but most importantly, I was deeply moved. Miller, somehow, by inviting you to walk with him into his own story, manages to meet you where you are standing and speak to you personally from a place of spiritual depth and awareness. If you are looking for a story about one man's hero's journey with his dog(s), you will find it. If you are looking for God in these pages, you will find God. If you are looking for your own contemplative, spiritual, hero's journey, quest inside. In the absolute most accessible (and yet profoundly personal) way, William Miller offers all of this and more, and he does so with the gentle, benevolent, lyrical touch of mystical poet. I have read and re-read this book (and all of Miller's books) many times, and each time I find another fragment of my own heart inside this slice-of-life's heart. With a multi-faceted, layered awareness that defies expectation and a depth of soulfulness that will speak to you no matter where you are on your path, Miller and his saintly beasts will walk beside you on this Howlelujah Trail and ensure you never walk alone. Run, don't trot, and read this today. Your soul, your heart, and all of your animal friends (especially the human ones) will all be better for it.
