When Lizzie Williams made a wish on Primrose Hill, she didn’t realise there would be collateral…
Complete opposites, Bex and Daniel have been secretly dating for years, well, two years and eight months to be precise, when a car hits Daniel and kills him at the exact same moment Lizzie makes her wish. Luckily for them, Lizzie unknowingly reverses the accident. Unluckily for them, it means they no longer know the other even exists.
When everyone’s memory returns, they find their way back to one another but cracks in their relationship begin to reappear. Will Bex ever allow herself to be vulnerable when her parents showed her just how fickle love can be? Can Daniel risk his and his daughter's feelings with a woman who refuses to trust him?
Is their relationship worth fighting for or was it best left forgotten…?
But something is coming. Something neither of them can predict. As both are plagued by the nightmares of the evening Lizzie turned back time, another force swoops in to try and tear Daniel’s life away from him.
This time in the shape of a man claiming to be his daughter's real father.
'Forced to Forget' is the second book in the 'Forget Me Not' series. A story of love, heartbreak, and second chances, and one which once again shows that family isn’t a textbook definition.
Melissa Morgan released her debut Forget Me Not in May 2020. An active reader her whole life, she can often be found with her head in a book or trying her hardest to see everything that has ever been put on stage. Melissa used to work in television production before following her passion for swimming and scuba diving to become a safety diver on film sets, as well as a marine biologist with the Ocean Conservation Trust. She spends a lot of daylight hours under water.
What a wonderful story which send you on a absolute rollercoaster ride of emotions from tears streaming to a grin wider than your face when the story evolves. Magical and memorable. Would definitely recommend to anyone
Ohmygodddd!! Melissa you've done it again!! This book is phenomenal, I loved FMN to bits but this is something else entirely! The rollercoaster of emotions I've experience while reading FTF just proves what an amazing writer you are! Just when something works out, there's something else right around the corner that knocks you sideways. I was constantly kept on my toes and completely captivated the whole time. This is a beautiful book inside and out! I cant praise this enough 💜💜
Dec'22 - I just cant praise this series enough! Its emotional and cute and completely heartbreaking at times too and its so cleverly written! I adore each and every one of these characters and this reread has been just what I needed. 💜
Now I absolutely love the first book by Melissa - Forget Me Not, but this was hands down just as easy to read, full of heart and a rollercoaster of emotions.
I had a right giggle at one of the bits and honestly felt heart broken at another. What I love about the world Melissa has created, is that the synopsis is real and believable, can be relatable even if the predicament is not a personal one to you and you come to love every character, from the perfect amount of detail and soul.
Another fab book and excited to read more from Melissa - honestly she's an absolute gem too and love having her on Bookstagram💛
The first book in this series wrecked me in a way that I can hardly put into words. This one didn’t quite do the same, and I’m equal parts sad and relieved over it - I had quite the emotional hangover from Lizzie’s and Charles’ story.
So, first let me start that the writing in here is as beautiful as it had been in the first one. The characters are so very lovely, multi-faceted and I love them so entirely. Including Bex and Daniel. Especially Daniel. How could you not love Daniel? (I also adore Bex’ brothers, thank you for giving us MORE wonderful characters to love, Ms. Morgan!)
In fact, the only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is not one that reflects on the book at all, but simply a personal preference. Most of the conflict in this book was a lack of communication, and I get it. The characters are deeply traumatized and damaged, and Bex’ inability to open herself up is understandable when you know her background. But still, it was just *too much* for me, to a point that I just wanted to shake and smack her, because I’m just such a naturally open person with my emotions. So it was just hard to put myself in her shoes, I think, and that frustration meant I couldn’t immerse myself in the story as I may have otherwise done. How often can a person possibly run away from a good thing?!
But, that doesn’t mean this isn’t a spectacular book, and that I don’t want everybody to read it. This Williams boy has my heart just like his brother does, and I’m beyond ecstatic that he got his HEA. FYI, in my head they’ve since gotten married and are living in blissful happiness and love. The book has beautiful writing and describes a beautiful love, has a beautiful set of characters. The small elements of magical realism make it even more special and complete. A piece of my heart will stay with this story, there’s no doubt about it.
Ps. If you wanna cry, listen to “pick and choose” by Daniel Nunnelee or while reading this
TW: Domestic abuse, homophobia, self harm. Melissa has only gone and done it again and given me TWO more fictional crushes in Daniel and Matt. I swear this woman is trying to kill me 🤣 I went through so many emotions in this book, it had me bawling in tears, hysterically laughing, getting hot under the collar over *that* chapter and just having ALL the feels possible. I absolutely loved that we got to know Bex and Daniel more and truly fall in love with them as a couple as well as individually as well as follow on in Lizzie and Charles' life. Also, I adored getting to know some new characters, especially Marco, Jason and Kyle. Honestly we all need a ray of sunshine like Kyle in our lives 🙌🏼 And without giving any spoilers this book touches on some really tough and hard hitting topics but it was so beautifully written that you really felt like you were going on a journey with the characters. Overall, you need to read this series, it is that simple. If you're a romance fan then you will absolutely love it and devour it just like I did and if not please give it a go because I bet you'll fall in love with it just like I did. I'm not usually a fan of romances but this sequel has won a place in my heart along with the first book. I genuinely cannot recommend this series enough and I'm super excited to see where it goes in the future as I know Melissa is already writing the third book and has plans for a forth 😍 TW: Domestic abuse, homophobia, self harm.
Oh heyyy, don't mind me, just sitting here bawling my eyes out 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I was not prepared.
I also don't understand why there aren't a lot of reviews for this series! If you haven't read this, and you like romance and a little sprinkle of magic, please go and read this book (and then review it afterwards!!!)
Ok... so in the first book, i didn't really care for Bex. She was ok but not like a favourite character. But I ADORED Daniel. So me being me and not reading the blurb, I was in a bit of shock with the direction the plot went.
But OH MY GOD was it real. The writing is just so magical!!! I felt each emotion the character was feeling! This is the second time I've read a book where the second book is based on different main characters, but it worked!!
Also, there are such important issues raised. NUMEROUS topics that are rarely talked about. The diversity deserves an applause 👏
Something i noticed in both books actually, is how the author shows that someones laugh makes the other person attracted to them more. I mean, how beautiful is that!!! I love that, it needs to be hyped up more than "his strong jaw" or "his firm....... chest"
Ok, last thing i want to say is that some scenes were slightly cringy and some parts personally felt unrealistic, HOWEVER it doesn't lose any stars because i love the characters and i CANNOT WAIT FOR BOOK 3!!!
Rarely does a second book live up to the first one. I might even go as far to say this was my favorite of the two!!
I did not except the emotions I had when reading this. The shock, pure joy and anger followed me on every page. Just when you think the dust is settling - SURPRISE! And just wow, it’s done so well ❤️
I adore the writing style, and getting to see things from both main characters perspectives. The additional characters were loveable, and I adore that they aren’t just shoed in for bulking out a chapter. Amy is an Angel and must be protected at all costs.
*Melissa kindly gifted me a copy of this book. All views are my own*
I read and loved Melissa Morgan's Forget Me Not in summer of last year, so when my copy of the sequel turned up on my door step, I was ecstatic to read it and find out how Lizzie's wish had impacted everybody around her! Forced to Forget is a beautifully written tale of love, relationships and learning to trust.
Bex and Daniel have been dating in secret for two years when Daniel is hit by a car, but then Lizzie makes her wish and reverses the accident. In this new alternative world, Bex and Daniel remain strangers to one another until everybody's memory returns and their feelings come flooding back. They try to pick up where they left of, but soon realise their time apart has fractured their relationship more than either of them expected. Just when they think things cannot get any worse, Daniel learns a huge secret that will change life as he knows it forever. Can he fight through it, or Bex and Daniel destined to be apart?
Although we have met Bex and Daniel before in the previous book, we got to know them both much better in this text. Morgan's characterisation of Bex is phenomenal! She writes an extremely strong character with a past that would damage anyone and a sense of humour that had me laughing out loud (I've said this before and I'll say it again: it is so difficult to get funny right in a novel, but Morgan smashes it!). Bex was such a fun character and I loved her confidence. We definitely got to see a different side of Daniel in this book. He is the doting dad and caring medic, but Bex brings out his cheeky side! I loved seeing this version of Daniel and the sexual chemistry between them was great. As much as I loved both characters, they were frustrating as hell! There was a clear lack of communication between them and I found myself shouting at my book at times. I rooted for this couple throughout and was really hoping they would make it through.
Morgan deals with some very difficult themes in this novel and I applaud her for putting a trigger warning at the beginning of the book. Not many authors do this and I think it is definitely something we should be demanding more of it. The writing that depicted these themes was beautiful and I found myself tearing up at times. It was refreshing to also see it from a different point of view to how it is usually depicted in novels and I thought Morgan did a fantastic job of portraying it realistically. I would love to tell you more, but I don't want to ruin the plot for you so if you have read this novel let me know and we can have a chat about it!
We also got to meet a few new characters in this book who I loved! Bex has two brothers and a fiery brother-in-law with great personalities. I love that she depicted the LGBTQ+ community in a way that was authentic and non-stereotypical. I wanted Kyle to be my best friend and I knew Marco would defend me against anyone! Bex has a really supportive family and their experiences together have made them extremely close. As well as this, Morgan is really diverse in her writing and included many characters from different ethnic backgrounds which I really appreciated!
As you can tell, I really enjoyed this book! Morgan did a wonderful job of writing about a difficult and not often talked about theme. It felt extremely authentic and very realistic. She had me crying and laughing at some of the scenes and I cannot wait to see what else she does with this series!
𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐨 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 - 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐚 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧⏳ 🦦🦦🦦🦦🦦/5 Oh Mel you’ve done it again 😍 As you can see from my page I’m not normally one to read a romance book, but once again I have fallen In love with another fictional man... and all the other characters too🥰 Never do I just hope and pray for a happy ending but my soul needed everyone in this story to be happy.... Following on from Melissas first book we find out more about each of the other characters in our favourite group! I also happen to know the third book is being written and my heart is so ready for it🧡 Oh and the fourth book which is about me and Neil... right @ What I am saying is buy these books, read them, fall in love. Anyway I’m off to have a dance party and daiquiri’s with Kyle✌🏼 the wonderful Melissa includes a page specific for trigger warnings at the beginning of her book which we love🙌🏻 TR; domestic violence, self harm, homophobia.
Well this book was an emotional roller coaster! Melissa Morgan's writing is so beautiful that you can't help but feel every emotion throughout this book. I found myself crying, laughing, angry, joyful, and frustrated throughout. The character's past lives entwined with their present lives and worked well with the story and added some very interesting context. I love the way the story is told from both Bex and Daniel's POV. This added to the frustration as with every situation that they misinterpreted we knew the truth. I just wanted to shout out loud at times. This was equalled with how much I loved them together and all the romantic moments they shared. The way this book followed a different relationship than the first book while also staying within the original group was really nice. It was nice to get small updates on Lizzie and Charles' relationship without it being focussed on them.
I absolutely loved Bex and Daniel, it was so nice getting to see more of Bex and get to know more about Daniel. I adored meeting Bex’s family, and having Morgan explore the motives and reasoning to each characters actions and how I can relate and understand why. IT MADE EVERYTHING OH SO PAINFUL BUT WORTH IT.
SO MUCH PAIN AND ANGUISH. I laughed, I cried, I cried again.
I do feel that the book does need to get proofread again, but in spite of that the book is still spectacular.
Bex and Daniel ❤ so nice to be back in Melissa Morgan's universe. Lizzie and Charles ❤. I now think I know who the third book is going to be about :), which I am looking forward too...the coffee - the coffee told me all. I saw a few things coming but enjoyed the story anyways, it's very real romance and situations and so cute. Some good plot twists and heartaches. Loved it. It was so well written I could just watch it like a film in my head. I kept putting it down and hoping I could press play while I did something else. 10/10.

Wow! I didn’t think it was possible but I loved this book as much, if not more than the first! Melissa has done something that many authors struggle to do; she has created characters who feel like your friends, characters who you truly miss when the book is over. Bex and Daniel will carve out their own place in your heart and their journey is one I would read again and again! I cannot wait to continue to discover these characters and their complex, beautiful lives!
I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series and couldn’t wait to start the next one. Well... this one ripped out my heart, tore it up. Glued it back together squashed it and re-inflated it all in one go! I laughed and cried and laughed some more right from the very beginning! One think I know is that these books will stay with me forever! I can’t wait to see what else Melissa brings to this world!
Most sequels don’t match the former book. This however was just as much as an enjoyable read to the first. With the same characters in it, but this time focusing on another couple we know from the first book as the main characters this time. Likeable characters and enough humour and conflict thrown in to get you rooting for their relationship. Melissa Morgan has succeeded in captivating this non romance reader into her romance books. That’s achievement in itself! Go and read this book!
Forget me Not had me gripped and I easily fell in love with Lizzie and Charles, Forced to Forget was even easier to fall in love with! The characters are beautifully written, the story gripping and I can’t begin to describe how much I wanted to keep reading forever! Loved this book!
I really liked this book. It was fun, a little guilty pleasure-y but I wanted to read it everyday. I hope a third book comes out. My only annoyance was the main character was a tiny bit frustrating and there were some obvious missing words from sentences here and there...maybe this book wasn't proof read well? Either way would recommend
Bex was a strong character that made me root for her all through the book. Both Bex and Daniel have been a bit immature for their ages at times in the book, but they were both damaged from past relationships (romantic or parental). I am glad they got over their obstacles and found their happy ending. Looking forward to Matt and Lottie’a story.
I finished this in a day! Totally hooked from the start and couldn't wait to see how the story unfolded. Such a lovely natural progression Forget me Not. The characters in these two books almost feel like family now
Once again, I’m completely swept by Melissa’s book. Like the first one, the second book was absolutely amazing. I was completely invested and I can’t wait for there to be a third book.
4 1/2. This series deserves way more attention and I’m genuinely annoyed not many people have read it. And that ending? I need the third book IMMEDIATELY.
