For as long as I can remember I have wanted Aspen as my wife. The day I lost her, I could hardly stand to breathe. I want her back in the worst way. I don’t take losing very well. Aspen will be mine again. I need to have her. And I will.

Carter is back in my life. Long ago, we flew so close to the sun we were scorched by the twisted labyrinth of our own making. And now, here he is again, front and center, as if nothing ever happened. I doubt Carter and I stand a chance. In fact, I believe we were doomed right from the start. Carter is driven to Aspen.

Aspen is determined to stay away from Carter. When their hearts collide once again, their love burns brighter than A Thousand Starry Nights.

Review by Lisa Kane

Let me start this review by saying that Addison Moore has a way of writing a sentence that moves your soul, whether it's a sensual phrase or one that cuts your breath in half with pain.

Aspen is Stevie Eaton Lionheart's sister and Carter is Ford Cannon's brother from Burning Through Gravity. These two have a tumultuous history. Their relationship started out as friends. Carter had broken up with Cher and Aspen came along at the right time. She also happened to be Cher's roommate at college. But the closer Aspen and Ford became, the more Cher wanted Carter back.

When it looked like Aspen and Carter were going to make things official with them, he dropped the bomb that Cher was pregnant-with his baby. And it wasn't something that happened from the time they were a couple. Aspen was gutted. Floored. Heartbroken. Devastated.

So devastated that she married Henry on the rebound. A guy that couldn't be more wrong for her, but he was someone she could control. He couldn't break her heart, since she would never give it to him. Her marriage had the desired effect on Carter.

I measured how much pain it might bring to Carter and then dove into my revenge nuptials in hopes of gutting the one who hurt me the most. I knew, deep down, I was doing love a disservice, but Carter had started the barbed ball rolling. The wounds were simply inevitable.

His marriage was a farce, but he felt he needed to step up to the plate and right the wrong he committed. He was well aware that he broke Aspen and he would never love anyone the way he loved her.

Carter's daughter Abby was worth the sacrifice to him. She is beautiful and sweet and loving. All the things his treacherous ex isn't. That's right; he divorced Cher because he couldn't live the lie. But if he thought Aspen would be willing to jettison her marriage, he couldn't be more wrong. Aspen digs in her heels and as miserable as she is with Henry, she refuses to divorce him.

It sounds as if Carter has decided it's time to get our relationship back on track, and he's already making changes, rearranging marriages, people, places as if our lives were a Rubik's cube, and he just had to make enough correct moves to land us where we needed to be.

Henry spends her money like water. One of his more notable habits-borrowing money from loan sharks and then risking both their lives while Aspen struggles with coming up with the funds to cover his loan.

Carter knows Aspen is miserable and is determined to get her back. He made a huge mistake one night but he wants his life with Aspen back. He doesn't trust her husband and suspects Aspen is being abused. I grew increasingly frustrated with her. Why would you put yourself at risk over and over again for a man you don't love, just to prove a point against the man you do love?

But there is something strange going on in this story. There is a mysterious woman who lives in the same building as Aspen and Henry and she is beyond creepy. There are numerous attempts to run over Aspen and she wonders if this is more than angry loan sharks. Aspen makes a stupid decision when she tries to come up with the funds to pay off Henry's latest loan. This was one time when I wanted to wash my hands of this character.

Will Carter discover what is going on? Can Aspen ever forgive him for hurting her so much? Can these two make peace with their past so they can have a future?

Aspen and I spent all our time at the beach-all our nights lying in the sand counting stars-something you can only do with any success in L.A. Always hoping for shooting stars, and then we'd pretend to ride out their tails across the Pacific. But I broke her heart on the beach, took a sledgehammer to all of those good memories we shared and turned them into broken glass, useless as the stardust we watched burn to the earth.

“There is no life for me without you.”

- Who is the Hero? Carter Cannon, Age: mid 20’s, Occupation: works for his family business

- Who is the Heroine? Aspen O’Tool, Age: mid 20’s, Occupation: Creative Director of Jinx Enterprises

Plot overview:
~ Prologue: Carter was dating Cher. Then Aspen fell into his life and Cher was tossed over. Then in an odd twist of fate, Cher and Aspen became college roommates and Cher was determined to get Carter back. Just when Aspen and Carter were getting ready to plan out their future, Cher informs Carter she is pregnant, so he marries her. In a fit of revenge, Aspen ends up marrying a jerk named Henry.
~ Fast forward 4-5 years later and Carter and Cher have a daughter Abby, but they are divorced. Aspen and Henry are married, but Aspen is not happy.
~ Carter wants Aspen back.

~ “I’m the man that should have married Aspen to begin with. I glance back at Abby with a dull smile. Destiny simply chose a detour and handed me an immeasurable blessing bundled in pink. I’m hoping destiny is all done with the waylay and that Aspen and I can one day find our way back together.”

** The following are my thoughts about this book: **
* * I struggled up until at least 40%. I thought Aspen was a doormat and there was just a lot of drama. Once Carter and Aspen got together I at least had something to cheer for.

* * I was disappointed Aspen didn’t leave Henry much sooner or acknowledge that he was physically harming her. Her initial description about their sex life sounded a lot like marital rape to me and that was confirmed with the scene that happened around the 35% mark.

* * I was disappointed that Aspen made a choice that impacted the business. When the thought was first introduced, I actually frowned. I was hoping she wouldn’t go through with it just to “cover” for her husband’s stupid mistakes.

* * and, speaking of this - it was resolved thanks to the help of a family member. However, I didn’t think it was fully addressed with the families. They really needed to hash it out, be clear on the reasons, repercussions and talk frankly about how to build trust among themselves.

* * The ex wife was vindictive and her little stunt was another thing that didn’t have any consequences. Also, no consequences for her friend. :(

* * I liked Carter and Aspen together. I did feel their connection and wanted them to get their HEA

* * Abby brought the cute / adorable factor to the story and I liked her

* * I liked the various family dynamics. However, I really felt like there was some backstory that would have been helpful to know regarding some of the characters. Some of the side comments had me scratching my head as to what was really behind the comment.

* * there was a ton going on. It was just a little too jam packed with with story elements: the evil husband, the evil ex, attempted murder, cheating, mafia dealings, embezzlement, cheating spouses (2 different plots for this item), abuse, custody issues and probably more. Because of so many things going on, I thought certain aspects were slighted and glossed over. IMO, it would have been better to spend some quality time on just a few issues.

* * the whole point of putting Carter and Aspen together was to work on Jinx. However, there was really no story around that and in the end they got a big award for their work together on Jinx - huh???

* * even with all the things above - the thing that annoyed me the most was the inner dialogue. Ugh! It didn’t add value and I started skimming over paragraphs because I just couldn’t read the excessive ramblings

**Overview:**
- Content Warning: marital abuse and rape (the abuse is minor but the rape is a bit more descriptive. She doesn’t fight, but it’s clear she doesn’t want it)
- Setting: California
- Do you need to read previous books in series?: see comment above - I think it would help
- POV: Dual POV
- Hero likeable? I liked Carter but I thought he was kind of stupid for not getting a paternity test. He shackled himself to a manipulative women and tossed aside the love of his life without fight. That was sucky of him.
- heroine likeable? there were times I struggled with Aspen. She felt like a doormat in the beginning. Also, if she is going to marry someone because of revenge, doesn’t she have better smarts than to pick a douche asshole??
- h virgin? No
- First time they kiss: 54%
- First time they sleep together: 64%
- Safe sex? No. Condoms were intentionally not used
- First time they say I Love You 61%
- steamy? Yes. Descriptive bedroom scenes
- Chemistry? I thought they had chemistry
- OW/OM drama? Yes. Both OW and OM in the picture
- H/h cheat? Technically h is still married
- Time apart? this is a second chance romance, so the initial time apart is about 4-5 years. Once they get back together, no major time apart
- Did I skip pages? Yes
- Big secrets? there was a pretty big secret a family member revealed at the end of the book. I’m not sure if it was revealed in a prior book or saved for this book. I think if I would have read the prior book and not known this secret I would have been a bit shocked at this reveal.
- Did I cry? No
- Did I laugh? No
- Did I swoon🥰? Carter with his daughter brought swoony moments
- Cliffhanger? No
- HEA? Yes
- Epilogue? maybe about six months later
- Recommend? I liked the last half better than the first, but I still feel like it suffered from too many things going on and a ton of annoying inner dialogue. It was just ok for me.

Quotes:
“Loving Carter was a boom of color exploding over the canvas of my heart.”

“Sitting next to Carter is like sitting next to a sexual landmine. You can sense the danger, but it’s so erotic that you want to jab at it to see if it really exists.”

“Aspen is the only lens I want to see my world through.”

“You own me, Aspen. You owned me right from the beginning.”

NookBooks Reviews rated this more than 5 star!!! Addison Moore has a way of bringing you into a story and filling your heart full of every emotion possible to man. That kind of writing is very exceptional and is cherished indeed. This book touched my heart and soul. I couldn't put it down. When I finished I looked at the back saying to myself but, I want more sniff sniff. Not that I was disappointed, I freaking loved it!

Aspen and Carter were a couple that were deeply in love. Carter ripped out her heart and it tore her world apart causing her to alter her destiny a bit. Because Carter lost her he started making changes in life. Will they end up back together? This book is about love lost, revenge, and desire of true love. I found my heart aching along with Them as the story worked its's way into my heart. Their love definitely doesn't come easy in their lives in their surroundings. The plot only thickens. As usually Addison is talented at that along with surprises you didn't expect.

I loved the characters in this book because of their wittiness. Each one has their own strong independence about themself that makes you laugh through out the book. Aspen is arrogant but in a funny and loving way it especially gets Carters engines revving again. The writer begins to see the artistic side of Aspen through her eyes especially with the Henry the Eighth story and how she sees things. You begin to see her passion and how she sees it in the world. Carter you see what drives him and the love he has for both his girls shows his compassion that he has. It's truly amazing. You just know he would be a perfect Father and Husband to the one he loves. Carter is a assured of himself when he is with Aspen trying hard because he's determined. These two are definite soul mates but will they find their way to love again? Will they be able to forget and love again? You'll have to find out in the book!

Addison Moore is an exceptional writer that is talented in all ways at sucking her fans into her book. I'm so happy I came across her books long ago. Get your copy, I guarantee it will not disappoint!!!!

***ARC PROVIDED FOR HONEST REVIEW***

O my word! O my word! O my word! What an amazing story. I don't normally give away the story line as I believe all readers should experience it for themselves. But here is just a little sneak peek.
At first my heart broke for poor Aspen. Carter really didn't play nice.
He broke her heart into millions of pieces. She settled for less and married Henry which just caused more and more trouble. Aspen believes that the commitment you make in front of God to marry a man, is an everlasting promise. No matter how horrible the situation. She refused to divorce his sorry a$$

I felt like kicking her bu++ for letting this go on for as long as it did. Carter hang onto his disastrous marriage because of his little girl Abby. As he said, she made everything worth it.

The story tugs at your heart strings but also it makes you want to climb into the book and smack some characters.

So here is a few facts.

1. Aspen is stubborn as hell
2. Carter is a douche bag in the beginning
3. Cher is a super b*tch
4. You will not be able to put it down!!!
5. A history lesson about Henry the 8th is thrown into the mix...
6. Aspen and Carter is undeniably meant for each other and their passion for each other is electrifying.
7.There is a dodgy character lurking around... weirdo!
8. There is some sexy scenes... yummy! (hehe)
9.Addison Moore books NEVER disappoint!!! You will love it!

There is still so many points I could've mentioned but I think you should give it a go yourself. You be the judge.

A very very well deserved 5 glittery, sparkly, shiny, twinkly, bright stars!

I wish they had A thousand Stars!!! It would've deserved every single one of them

After all the abuse Aspen subjected her self to, with a maniac of a husband, she deserved the brighter light on the other side! But nothing could have prepared her for all the love Carter had to offer.
Being raised by a care free hippy mother, a father that barely knowledge her existence, and the love of her life leaving her for another woman years ago, Aspen believed she deserved nothing but misery!
Carter couldn't believe that the love of his life who's heart he shattered was placed back into his life. He was willing to sell his soul to have her back again, no matter the cost!
There is so much that goes on in this story that it will for sure keep you glued to reading. Many back drop stories that I want to read about with the other characters involved.

And Addison does it again! Another amazing read. I just love those Cannon's and Lionheart's. I'm hoping they'll be more after Lincs story.......?? Maybe Cash, Carson and Kinsley's stories. Let's hope so.

This book was originally reviewed on The Book Hookup.

What a ride. I went into this story thinking it was simply Carter and Aspen’s love story…but no, it was way more than that. At times it was layers of backstabbing and drama, but other times it was just a story of two people destined to be together…but what ever was happening….I loved every heart pounding minute of it.

We met both Carter and Aspen in book 1, and they definitely had a story to tell, an epic story. These two fell in love years before, but life got in the way and while they never fell out of love they couldn’t be together. A shame and they both knew it. While it seemed like the coast might be clear for them to reunite it wasn’t that easy, and they really had to put their love to the test as they went through hurdles. I will admit sometimes I wanted to look away, but Carter never played any games…and I LOVED him for that.

So confession time, I didn’t always love Aspen. She was weak more often than I’d like…and that grated on me. Now, no human is perfect and that was her flaw. However, Carter adored her whole soul, and when there’s an epic love like that it makes it so much easier to get over someone’s flaws. I did. I went with it and just willed her to move ahead and do the right thing. In the end she did.

There was definitely some danger in this book, and looking back I should have seen the signs more clearly, but they were kind of subtle and almost led to more of a surprise at the end, which I loved.

The ending had my heart pounding. I thought there might be some predictable things…but then there were THINGS.

Rec it? YES! A stand alone novel within a series, so you can enjoy each book and delve back into this delcious world of Cannons and Lionhearts. I cannot wait to read Lincoln’s story!

Aspen and Carter have to fight through a lot to be together. Henry and Cheryl both, respectively, have put each of them through hell. Aspen admits to herself that she married Henry to spite Carter for his betrayal and things spiraled downward from there. Henry was abusive and brought nothing to the marriage, yet Aspen stayed with him. Her inability to realize the danger she was in with him was almost comical. What she did to save both of them from loan sharks was ridiculous and she should have gone to jail. I did not blame Cash for being angry with her and wanting her out of their business association after that. I was appalled that everyone in her family pushed it under the rug like it was no big deal and didn't even bat an eyelash that she did it. Carter still refused throughout most of this story to see how manipulative and vengeful Cheryl was until she pulled an over-the-top stunt that almost hurt their daughter. The story did wrap up well and I can't wait to read Lincoln's story.

It takes years but finally Carter gets his head out of his butt and admits the truth, "you’re still happening to me. You own me, Aspen. You owned me right from the beginning." He's also having no qualms about his woman getting pregnant, "I didn’t use a condom last night.” He closes his eyes a moment. “And I didn’t pull out. I was greedy. I’m sorry." Aspen I loved her, "you do realize that one day our children will ask how all this went down, and I’ll be forced to lie. No one wants to hear I was sitting on your naked father after a night of amazing sex." I liked this book it did have a few scenes that made me uneasy but it was still a great read.

Book 2 in the series delves into the dysfunctional relationship of Aspen and Carter. Carter is divorced from Cher/Cheryl and has a three year old daughter, Abby. He and Cheryl married after she got pregnant in college. This ending is relationship with Aspen before it really had a chance to get started. So, Aspen married Henry. Henry is. A "piece of crap" who rarely works, drinks, gambles and is abusive. But, Aspen is determined to honor her vows.
When Stevie, her half sister takes over Jinx she makes her the creative director and her renewed association with Carter begins.
At the same time, Henry goes into debt with a loan shark for the second time and there are two attempts to hit her with a car. Than Aspen finds out Henry is cheating and that's the straw that breaks her away from him.
How will it all unfold? There's still some really good happenings to uncover.

The Push & Pull

Carter & Aspen couldn't seem to get it together......

Failed relationships, unwillingness or lack know how to begin to trust again was daunting.

Aspen at times was overly immature and I could choke her!!!

First read by Addison Moore, and I look forward to more....

A complex drama with many twists

This story starts out somewhat confusing as there are many different characters thrown in all at once. As you get further into it it begins to come together. A lot of family drama and many surprises. A worthwhile read.

Team Carter

Carter Cannon knew who he wanted and walked through hell to get there. He was tenacious in his pursuit of Aspen. Aspen made some very poor decisions and nearly paid a high price for them. For me, the start was slow and took some time to get into. Glad I stuck it out!

It’s only the prologue and it already has me gasping. If anyone knows me it’s that I hate flashback scenes. Live in the moment, explain the past while being in the present but this prologue of the past had me wanting to know the next word and god was I surprised. Baby? Wedding? And it doesn’t involve Carter and Aspen? I already know Cher is going to be a pain in the fucking ass unless she matured enough to know carter was never really hers in the first place.

Omg wtf did I just fucking read. I thought I read my fair shares of books but nope. I don’t even know where to begin.

First off, jesus christ, please take the wheel for Aspen and Carter’s future. Henry and Cher are fucking psychotic. Absolutely nuts 🥜🌰

I hate cheating in every way. Emotional, physical, spiritual (I don’t know if this is an actual thing but I’m just saying it) so when her siblings were rooting for her and carter to be together even though they knew Aspen didn’t want to leave her husband (unless he fucked up like cheating), I just don’t understand why they didn’t encourage her to leave her husband if she was miserable instead of encouraging cheating.

Henry. God I wish I was able to bash his head against a wall. “Why are you dry?” My guy. I don’t even know what you look like but I’m so dry that I would rather eat 10 biscuits with no bev than you strip down for me. I get it, you want your money and the only way for you to get that is to have Aspen killed but like c’mon man. Why do most men think they are the shit when they literally are just shit period. And it got me so frustrating seeing Aspen having an internal struggle with wanting to leave her husband and actually doing it because leaving a dv relationship is not as easy as people would think

Cher. Fucking ass cheeks this woman. Psychotic. She and Henry both honestly. I am trying to find words to put together to sound cohesive but it is a struggle when all you’re thinking about is how such woman exists. She is the definition of manipulative. It frustrated me to see Carter so blind to say that the reason for Cher’s action when it comes to Abby is because she is a good mother 🤌 Dude please open your eyes 🤌 Nothing about her screams good mother. It’s like he had his eyes closed the past 5-6 ish years because there’s no way he really thought she was sane. My heart broke for Aspen when it was revealed that the only reason why Cher named her child Abby was because Aspen once said she wanted to name her kid after her dead mother, Abigail. LIKE HOW INFURIATING. What also had be blowing steam out my ears like I was a steam boat🛥️ was when Carter did not believe Aspen when she was basically begging for him to believe him. The one chance he had in earning Aspen’s trust and he really said I’m going to believe my psychotic ex-wife. What in the right mindset did you think that was going to win you any brownie points?

Most people say to do a paternity test but he was like in his early 20s and he did ‘cheat’ on Cher with Aspen so he most likely thought the kid was his.

LETS NOT EVEN GET STARTED ON THE AFFAIR. My heart skipped a beat when Kinsley’s underwear was found in Henry’s bed. I was screaming from the top of my lungs in the middle of the night, I almost thought that would be my last night. I was wrong, I can admit that. The twist and turns this plot gave us really had be stop dropping and rolling. And poor ole Abby being dragged into this drama.

I was so confused in the whole reading process that I don’t even remember why I decided to read the book. They dragged out the storyline so much I felt they were just trying to figure out what other emotional plot-twist they can add to the story near the end. I couldn’t feel more distant to this book when I didn’t even want to read Carter and Aspen’s sex scenes. I did not have any more brain capacity to comprehend anymore.

As usual I come into an Addison Moore book expecting to be blown away and that is exactly what happens. She never disappoints that’s for sure.

This time she also provides us with the history of Henry The Eighth, his wives, mistresses and other concubines which managed to weave well with the story.

Her words soar from the pages and pull you into Carter and Aspen’s story. Your heart will break with theirs, you will laugh with them and you will fear for the loss of a love that seemed fated in the stars to happen. The chemistry between Carter and Aspen is powerful, even when they were trying to fight the invisible magnetic pull I could feel it in coursing through my skin. Nothing was going to stop these two from being together even though it seemed they had so much stacked against them.

Needless to say happily ever afters do not seem to come easy to Carter and Aspen. Their hearts always seemed to be fated to be together but something or someone always seemed to come between them. Only this time Carter isn’t going to let that happen. Come hell or high water they would be together- they had to be together.

Their love sure doesn’t come easy. Weird neighbors, crazy exes and others seek every opportunity they possibly can to try to wedge some space between today’s version of Romeo and Juliet (Once you read it you will see where I got that from).

A Thousand Starry Nights is one of those books where the suspense creeps up on you little by little. You know something bad is going to happen but you don’t know when or where it will happen until...BAM! Your mouth falls open and you're tossed into the chaos that ensues and just when you think it is over you are hit with more.

In the end A Thousand Starry Nights is an amazing story of a love, loss, betrayal and fighting for a forever that was written in the stars. Will these two loves shoot through the sky like a shooting star or will their love burn out and fall into the black abyss? Find out and 1-Click A Thousand Starry Nights when it releases.
