Jesus, Superpowers, and the Bully

Rate this book
A new kid in Troy’s 5th grade class bullies him at every turn. Troy doesn’t know what to do. It wasn’t his fault, after all, that he was born with only part of an arm. If that weren’t enough, he’s struggling in math and forced to work with the bully to improve. When Troy prays, asking Jesus into his heart, he is taken directly to the throne room of God and receives superpowers. Jesus says he can’t use his superpowers on people, so how is he supposed to handle the bully in class? How does he handle the demons that start appearing after Jesus gives him special glasses? Get ready for an exciting ride as Troy discovers superpowers, miracles, angels, and the love of God while learning who he is in Christ and maneuvering the challenges with the bully at school.

Great story for all ages!

At first I was skeptical about this story. The throne room. Actually talking to Jesus face to face every time you pray. And Super powers! Then I realized this is book is a lot like "Pilgrim's Progress", but told so kids in the 21st century could really grasp its meaning! I am a grandparent, and this book really spoke to my heart. It made me remember that each Christian is a child of the King of kings. And as His child, we have access to all those pieces of armour to protect ourselves from the enemy and to be victorious in our walk with Him.

Super Fabulous!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this fast paced story. The way in which Troy's relationship with Jesus unfolds is so well written, with scripture and the "superpowers" that come with faith as a strong feature. Jesus is shown to be a real friend in a way that makes this story very appealing for children in ages from 4 to 12. A worthy read!

An exciting, eye-opener for kids aged 7-12 on the spiritual realm and the power of the Christian life

An exciting and biblical truth-filled story for kids aged 7-12. (This adult with two grown-up kids enjoyed it too!) Written from the, albeit fictional, viewpoint of a boy growing up with a physical disability and being a target for a bully, we get an insight into salvation, growing as a believer, prayer, heaven, spiritual warfare, identity, forgiveness, angels and demons, as well as the armour of God and the power gifts of the Christian faith, illustrating in an accessible way for kids the truth of the verse “For the kingdom realm of God comes with power, not simply impressive words.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭4:20‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Great for Christian homeschools!
Jesus, Superpowers, and the Bully is a simple, powerful book that can be used for Christian homeschooling. I feel it is suitable for younger middle-grade readers, ages 8 thru 10, but older kids will enjoy it too, as well as adults. Even reluctant readers will find this to be an easy-to-read, fun book. If you need a faith-filled story to help your young believer move to the next level in their faith with examples of using the armor of God, then this is your book. Even though the reader doesn’t have the physical armor, like little Troy does (oh how I wish we did), this book teaches the love of Jesus and discernment in fighting demonic attacks. The demons are only slightly scary (and small) and get less scary as Troy’s faith increases.
The ending is fantastic and unexpected, but with God, anything is possible! This is an awesome, imaginative story, and I will definitely read this book to my grandson when he is of a suitable age.
