Wilderness survivalist Matt just wanted to hunt, fish and live a peaceful life on his mountain after the Event destroyed Earth's major cities. It's a peaceful life - but lonely. Then four desperate, beautiful women show up at his compound. They're pursued by monsters, and worse - a band of vicious men who want their 'property' back. Letting them join him means war - and the end of Matt's peaceful existence. The women need someone to teach them to fight, to hunt, to SURVIVE in the new world. They need a man who isn't afraid to take charge. Fortunately for them, Matt is exactly what they need. And if they end up adding a little 'chill' into his apocalypse, well - that's what makes life worth living, right? This book contains a harem, explicit adult scenes and violence.
Post-apocalyptic harem sci-fi with a hideous monster right out of Gene Wolfe. What is not to love here? Bimbeau proves with this series he's much more versatile than the average erotica author.
Another great audiobook combo with Neil and Sierra. This book was well written and not what you'd expect from erotica. The storyline was fleshed out, with great twists, characters and sub plot. The sex scenes were great, but it's a Bimbeau book, so that's to be expected.
Sierra's narration was spot on. Her voice has just enough husky-ness in it to pull off male voices. This is not to say she doesn't do a great, sensual female, which she does. Her ability to change between 6 women in this book, while keeping each distinct is impressive.
The world was a compelling concept and the characters started out interesting. However, that wasn't enough to make up for the overall awkward dialogue and lack of character development. Its supposed to be an Apocalypse type book, but I never felt like the main characters were in any danger, whether it be from the monsters or lack of food.
I'm not going to say the book had no good points, or give it one star because it is a Neil Bimbeau book and you kind of know what your getting when going into it, but I'm not going to call it a master of literature either.
I gave this piece of soft core porn ,3 stars ,just because the guy bothered to write it. Don't even bother reading it if your hoping for a decent, end -of-the -world ,book. This ain't nothing but juvenile sex fantasy.
Dunno if it's a cultural difference thing but it all felt very awkward. If you are into the culture I'd imagine the language wouldn't be as weird for someone like me who isn't and couldn't stop picturing Jim Bob.
Then it gets even more weird and so awkward you start believing the book would end with all the girls having been turned into overcoats with the MC dancing tucked in a mirror talking to his neighbors he already killed and ate.
The entire neighbors plot should have been removed or have actually been the bandits. That's when I was actually interested. The monster threat was mostly non existent except for the beginning and end and holds no weight when you realize the main character isn't psycho murder but knows his neighbors are dead and has been talking to the monsters the whole time.... It's like really.

The world has gone to he'll because a sickening virus plague has killed off most humans. This is where we find out hero living. He has a cabin in the woods on a mountain and lives to talk to his neighbors via a walky-talky. While out scrounging for food and whatnot, 4 girls are trying to escape a group of raises that they got away from then are also being chased by the plague monsters. Our hero saves them and returns to his cabin. In the end they kill the monsters at their home at the foot of the mountain and he has lots of sex with 2 of the girls.
Our main character is living alone in a cabin that he inherited from his grandfather up in the mountains. It seems the world has gone by the wayside and everybody is fighting for survival. It seems that there is something living beneath the earth's surface and it is NOT benevolent.I think the story is well written and it keeps you guessing as to what is happening is it real or not real? And of course there is erotic romance involved as well for a little bit of spice with horror on the side.
Nice Dystopian Adventure with Steamy Scenes that Advance the Plot
Neil Bimbeau has done it again. Good characters in serious jeopardy who find love and adventure in a world where monsters have risen from deep inside the Earth. Not demons, just bad creatures who eat people. The sex scenes are competently written and do not slow down the action. This isn't a porm novel with sequences of screw fests stitched together. It's a Stephen King horror story with good, spicy interludes where characters desperate to survive cling to each other. Looking forward to Book 2.
I want my money back. Thankfully I bought it on sale.
This book never feels like it is an apocalypse. It never feels like anything that happens is what would happen. Instead this book feels like cheesy porn that would never make sense. It is cheap and tries for easy emotional manipulation but is so poorly written that you only get angry at the MC for being so aweful that you hate reading about him.
Do not wast your time. You are worth more than this book would take from your lifespan.
If it’s a quick, fun, and exciting adult fantasy you’re looking for, this is the book. It has a bit of everything, is easy to read, and follows a linear, easy to understand storyline. Adult portions are mixed in and don’t really detract from the story. Characters are likable and nicely integrated. I would recommend this to anyone who likes adult fantasies and easy, quick reading.
I like these post-apocalypse stories. While I also enjoy the ‘lovable demon/monster’ stories, I never thought they were a good fit for the ‘after the bombs’ genre. Until now, that is. A society-ending ‘event’ AND monsters that came about because of it? That’s a pretty good combinations in my book, and I enjoyed this story all the more as a result.
This is a good book. You shouldy read it. I like the story. The characters are fun. The book is a good read. i enjoyed it alot.. Download or buy it today. why not?
