They found love

By the hardest did they find each other. Everything and everyone was against them. Someone was plotting against them on top of Ashley's parents being against them. Even the Don thought that Monk should only have Ashley as a side piece and a proper Italian female as his wife. But Monk was not that kind of man. That is why his nickname is Monk. Francis "Monk" Paletti was not like the other men in the Bonaducci Crime family. He loves Ashley and would not treat her that way ever. She made him feel like he could handle anything that he was called to do, as long as she was by his side. She made him whole and gave him the sense of family that he never knew.

Ashley Sinatra was thought of as the airheaded party girl. Even her so-called friends thought of her as Jericoh's tramp, being used and thrown aside. They just knew no handsome and obviously rich man like Monk would really want her. Boy were they wrong. Monk treated Ashley as though she were a queen. He vowed to always protect her and to always keep her by his side. He could not trust anyone else to do it.

I truly enjoyed this story. Mallory wrote this active drama with the turns and twist in the plot as she usually does. As usual, I failed to figure out the "whodunit" part. That's what I like about Mallory's books, she makes me think about who is behind all of the drama. All of Mallory's books are an enjoyable read as this one is.

REVIEW:
Franklin (Monk) Paletti has been picked to become the “Head of the Bonaducci Crime family”.  Monk has falling madly in love with Ashley Sinatra and he asked Ashley to marry him before leaving Jersey.  In this second installment Monk and Ashely decided to tell her family the news together.  Both Ashley and Monk are having doubts about their union, Ashley doesn’t want to be so consume by Monk that she loses herself in the process, and Monk know that taking on the head of the crime family comes with enemies, and he is having doubts about putting Ashley in the position of being his wife because he knows the danger of this life. From the beginning each potential wife has to make a decision to be all in or not, because their life will change. Monk is right up there with Sal & Mick, his reach is not as long as their but when Gemma and Roz fell in love with Sal & Mick, they had to make a decision to be with their man or leave.

I enjoyed Monk and Ashley story and look forward to reading more on this couple.  Monk is moving up to be one of my favorites, he is controlling and that is something him and Ashley will comes to blows.  When it comes to her protection she has no say in the matter, that’s with all of them.

I recommend this book.

A Very Good and Sensual Interracial Suspenseful Thriller

Monk Paletti: Commanding Love is very good and sensual interracial romantic suspenseful thriller that earned a rating of four stars. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book about Ashley Sinatra's and Monk Paletti 's love affair. With all all the tragic events going on in both their lives their love makes everything more bearable and makes their love stronger. Monk asked Ashley to marry him and she said yes, which put both their lives in danger. Together they have to fight for their lives in this fast pace installment. I would recommend this book to everyone who enjoys reading very good romantic suspenseful thrillers.

Great couple

I love Monk and Ashley’s relationship. They are fast becoming one of my favorite Mallory Monroe’s couples. Monk brings out the best in Ashley. He let’s her be who she is and loves everything about her and vice versa. Ashley is more self-confident since she has been with Monk. She is no longer in her sister Carly’s shadow.

Monk is a mature ALPA male. He is nurturing towards his lady-Ashley and loyal to his friends. However, cross him and he is RUTHLESS!

Monk’s father Raymond needs to get a clue and stop undermining his son.

I look forward to the continuation of Monk’s and Ashley’s story.

Great read full of intrigue, action and love. I really love how protective and dominant Monk was. He will be good for Ashley as she needs someone unconditional love and direction to thrive. I like that he was straight forward with her and could make the tough decisions. Although Ashley thinks her opinion should be taken into account, she needed to defer to Monk’s expertise. In matters of life and death, he knows better. I’m glad Monk got over the nonsense of deserving Ashley. She made her choice and that’s that. As usual I disliked Big Daddy and his wife attitude. They were overbearing and hollier than thou. Where was all this concern for her safety when she was sleeping around and getting gang raped? Even at the end when they came to his house to “help” they were actually inserting themselves into Monk’s affairs before he actually called them. The whole “it’s what family does” is an excuse to meddle and hold onto control. The denouement was great because I really didn’t see it coming.

Essence Missing!

Monk and Ashley could be the next best couple in Ms. Monroe's world. Their love was strong for each other. Yet, there was something missing - on the tip of your tongue missing.

It was that way with all the other characters. If you didn't know Mick or Big Daddy or Teddy, this book wouldn't have revealed them to you. In this book, they were shadows of themselves - cardboard characters. All of them were vicious with none of the family love shown. They spoke the right words but the essence was missing. Even Jenay came up short. All of the many subplots, the danger and violence couldn't make the Sinatras or Gabrinis or even the Palettis real.

The spark is missing from Ms. Monroe's latest books. The last books didn't have the flair so common in her books. Is she just marking time until she gets it together? Ghostwriter perhaps???

Unless Tommy or Sal or Trevor or even Alex are written as they have been in the past, it's over for me.

Good Good Stuff

In Ms. Monroe fashion we get a really truly likable and good romance. I love that between all that's going on around them that Monk and Ashley still realize that they are strong together. The insight that this couple has is so incredibly strong that they see each other clearly. There was not only some really tense moments but there are times when you are bitting your nails. I think Monk and Ashley are two really good characters that have been fully developed. I think in some ways Monk and Ashley are what Mick and Trina would've been like if they were a couple. Because these two are something fierce! Hopefully we more of them ,these two characters have slot to say.

This was really good! I am sure that in future books on Ashley and Monk that the Don will be trying to get his revenge but now they have Mick the Tick and the rest of the Sinatra and Gabrini's on their side. I love the family closeness and that Big Daddy understands that poor Monk does not understand how a family works since his is so fractured. His father, Raymond is a piece of work! Anyway, this was a great read as always! Mallory Monroe has done it again! Another book (paperback) that I add to my growing collection!

First time every.

It's like the first time every. I don't like a Monroe character. I do not like Ashley and Monk. Since the day we were introduced to Ashley, her character shown NO growth at all. Monk's character is one dimension. Now, what would have been nice to read about is this so call party girl comes into owe show out and be about and become a gangster by kick butt and may be ask questions later. And doing that journey she meets Monk on cont bases. Well. Chemistry. Hopefully Ashley and Monk fade to black. They were boring

very happy

For some reason she wasn’t my favorite character. Or I should say I didn’t like how she was written. I just didn’t want to read the books even though I bought them immediately. I have to say I’ve changed my tune. I’m glad she had her own book. I’m glad Monk saw her as I wish I did. She deserved the opportunity for readers to see her through a different lens. Very happy for her and Monk. He is the perfect person for her. Really enjoyed the books glad it ended well.

This had everything that I love in a book but for some reason I didn’t love this book. I liked it but it was missing something. I think I wanted more from Ashley than what I got. I wanted to see her growth, her intelligence that everyone says is there. There were glimpses but not enough. Fun enough read but I just wanted more.

Good

Good book, no surprises here. Monk and Ashley both felt unworthy and constantly questioned where it hit that we deserving of decent treatment by others and especially family. But in each other they find what they we lacking. Teddy, Mick, Donald, Brent, Mikayla make appearances. Of course Big Daddy and Jenny showed up.
