1. Heirlooms and Homicide
4 Stars
I purchased a copy of the cozy mystery Heirlooms and Homicide in the Hearts Grove Cozy Mystery Boxed Set Books 1-12 by Danielle Collins, and this review was given freely.
Reminded me of Agatha Christie’s Ms. Marple. Observant antique shop owner Henrietta Hewitt puts together the clues to solve the mystery of the missing Cybil while fending off the romantic and professional advances from her dead best friend’s husband, private investigator Ralph, and watches the budding romance between her employee and Ralph’s son.
Peppered with descriptions of people, places, and businesses, this introductory mystery contains a mild description of violence and a nice introduction to the small town of Heart’s Grove during the summer Blackberry Festival.

2. Break-ins and Bloodshed
4 Stars
I purchased a copy of the cozy mystery Break-ins and Bloodshed in the Hearts Grove Cozy Mystery Boxed Set Books 1-12 by Danielle Collins, and this review was given freely.
Abundant with foreshadowing and seemingly accidental attainment of clues this story is set around the town’s Fall Festival.
Moments after agreeing to permanently help Ralph as a silent partner, the multifaceted struggling author, amateur detective, and antique shop owner Henrietta Hewitt’s curiosity leads her to the site of a burglary and murder in progress.
Contains the sinister topic of controlling/obsessed men, cyber-based felonies, and two unhealthy love triangles.
May be read as a standalone but best if read in series order.
3. Lights Out at the Lighthouse
5 Stars
I purchased a copy of the cozy mystery Lights Out at the Lighthouse in the Hearts Grove Cozy Mystery Boxed Set Books 1-12 by Danielle Collins, and this review was given freely.
This testament to self-centered and controlling relationships and to greed hints at improving romances for Henrietta and Olivia.
As the Valentine’s Day Dance approaches Henrietta divides her time between decorating the hall and helping Ralph solve the lighthouse keeper’s murder which the arrogant new detective Abe has ruled a suicide.
May be read as a standalone but best if read in series order.

4. A Body Below Ground
5 Stars
I purchased a copy of the cozy mystery A Body Below Ground in the Hearts Grove Cozy Mystery Boxed Set Books 1-12 by Danielle Collins, and this review was given freely.
Complex with a few twists, some violence, and a secret informant and set in April.
This is a story of greed, blackmail, murder, and Henrietta’s struggle to help the primary suspect of a murder, her friend Ruth, the manager of Port Angeles Tunnel Tours.
May be read as a standalone but best if read in series order.
5. Libraries and Larceny

Murder and a scavenger hunt ensue during the July Fourth weekend when a secret informant and visiting biographic author Shannon’s requests result in Henrietta flying to Victoria, Canada to retrieve Laurabee’s original copy of The Castle’s Secrets.
Contains murders, a twist or two, and ends in a cliffhanger.
May be read as a standalone but best if read in series order.
6. Impersonation and Investigation

4 Stars
I purchased a copy of the cozy mystery Impersonation and Investigation in the Hearts Grove Cozy Mystery Boxed Set Books 1-12 by Danielle Collins, and this review was given freely.
The resurrection of her sister, the Chicago mob, and a treasure hunt set up by her grandmother is the background for this poignant novel that has Henrietta discovering another body and Ralph questioning the identity of her nephew.
May be read as a standalone but best if read in series order.
7. Festivals and Fatalities
4 Stars
I purchased a copy of the cozy mystery Festivals and Fatalities in the Hearts Grove Cozy Mystery Boxed Set Books 1-12 by Danielle Collins, and this review was given freely.
Set around the time of the town’s Crab Festival. Her old Irish fisherman friend Seamus comes to her suggesting a windfall, but just as Henrietta learns he is mixed up in the crab shortage at the festival, Seamus dies at her feet. Things become muddled when Ralph ad Abe ask her not to investigate.
8. Murder at the Mansion
4 Stars
I purchased a copy of the cozy mystery Murder at the Mansion in the Hearts Grove Cozy Mystery Boxed Set Books 1-12 by Danielle Collins, and this review was given freely.
Reminiscent of the game of Clue, this is a Christmastime murder mystery complete with deception, lies, and a hint at a love triangle.
Invited by the mother of her recently deceased friend as a secret investigator during a masquerade weekend, Henrietta and Ralph find themselves trapped in the mansion with the traumatized Louella, Ralph’s friend police detective Dan, a killer, and many suspicious characters.
Contains a hint of budding romances for Henrietta and her sister.
9. Fatality in the Forest
4 Stars
I purchased a copy of the cozy mystery Fatality in the Forest in the Hearts Grove Cozy Mystery Boxed Set Books 1-12 by Danielle Collins, and this review was given freely.
This is a sequel with a murder but also features a lot of change, blackmail, a marriage, and the Concerned Fellow Sleuth is revealed.
Her first romantic meal with Ralph on Valentine’s Day is ended when Henrietta is called away to identify a dead body.
Ends with a cliffhanger involving the over-eager new employee Jacob.
10. Death by Dessert
4 Stars
I purchased a copy of the cozy mystery Death by Dessert in the Hearts Grove Cozy Mystery Boxed Set Books 1-12 by Danielle Collins, and this review was given freely.

Henrietta and Ralph go to her friend Sassy’s chocolate shop tasting only for an unexpected man from Sassy’s past, councilman elect Mark, to die of anaphylaxis after eating her chocolate. Henrietta must balance the new investigation with the demands of her needy sister Clementine’s search for her son. Contains sinister connections to the Deep Water Cororation and the promise of a baby for Olivia and Ralph’s son Scott.
11. A Fatal Affair

4 Stars
I purchased a copy of the cozy mystery A Fatal Affair in the Hearts Grove Cozy Mystery Boxed Set Books 1-12 by Danielle Collins, and this review was given freely.
This is a complicated jumble of a murder that Henrietta solves, the DWC making trouble for Henrietta’s friends, and Henrietta reuniting her sister with her nephew. Ends with a cliffhanger with the crew planning a concentrated search for information on the DWC and a little remodeling project looking for hidden basements.
12. Body in the Basement.
4 Stars
I purchased a copy of the cozy mystery Body in the Basement in the Hearts Grove Cozy Mystery Boxed Set Books 1-12 by Danielle Collins, and this review was given freely.
This fitting conclusion to the romance and the series contains a lot of violence.
As Henrietta, Ralph, and Abe get closer to solving the mystery of the body in Henrietta’s basement’s connection to the DWC, the Deep Water Corporation, police officer Amanda’s, and Anita Black’s interference, murder attempts, and arson events escalate.

Middle aged sleuths....I like it

Meet Henrietta and gang - Ralph the retired police detective, his son Scott, a computer guru, Olivia the sweet antique assistant, and the other quirky characters of Heart's Grove.

Henrietta owns her own business but solving mysteries is something she just seems to have a knack for. When her friend Ralph asks her to join his family's investigative business, she decided to consult part time but eventually comes to realize that even if she tried not to become involved, the deaths are personal and walking away isn't something she can do. From the very first case, she is hooked and honestly, her and Ralph make a good team.

Hearts Grove Cozy Mysteries

The author has put a lot of thought into this series, as well of other series. She has many good ideas. Henrietta and Ralph did too much surmising and retelling what had occurred so I found myself skipping a few pages, but the points of the stories were good. I wish I could speak to the author about using the correct grammar and hiring a good proofreader or copywriter who should catch the errors. If you use a singular pronoun, you don't use the word "them".

Addictive short story mysteries with a massive intrigue tie-in

I lived this series so much - I read it all in 3 days!
Mystery, romance, a touch of humour and best of all - all ages represented but the main characters were more senior than middle aged. The underlying intrigues kept me going. Searching for lost relatives and overcoming a long standing evil mega- the company.
Well written. Everything flowed. Can’t wait to read more of Danielle Collins work!

This is a well written series with characters that grow and adapt within the series. Terrific mysteries, dramatic family dynamics, friendships and relationships shrouded I’m mystery. The town and its residents are brought to life by Collins; with sleuthing duo Henrietta and Ralph taking the helm in this 5 star mystery box set.

Solid sleuthing

Each of these books can stand on its own, but they do form a sequence. Reading them has been very enjoyable. The characters are relatable, and the kind of people you wish you knew more of. Cozies are proof that sex and foul language are not integral to good, entertaining story-telling. Two thumbs up!

Good read!

Unlike so many cozy mysteries that seem to follow a rather contrived format, this series delightfully built upon each ‘book’. The plots were similar but the denouement is each were quite different. I had inklings of connections of the characters but was pleasantly surprised to find I wasn’t always right!

Thank you Danielle Collins for allowing me to read each book as one choice/selection from beginning to end! I loved how Henriette moved from store owner to PI back to her store or writing! It was an adventure from page one to the end of book 12. Loved the characters and how each one developed into the next book.

H.H. Antiques and Company

Danielle Collins did a wonderful job of creating colorful, interesting characters with thought provoking stories to maintain the interest of the reader. I appreciate the morally clean approach as well as the convoluted, informative tales of the interactions of family and friends. I look forward to reading more.

Every book, a new mystery solved

The Hearts Grove mystery boxed set included many mysteries for Henrietta and Ralph to solve, but the ending was well worth reading every one of these books. I loved how Henrietta and Ralph worked together to help the police find killers and deepen their relationship. These books were very well-written, and every character was fascinating.

This series by Danielle Collins was a simple and fun read and I would recommend it to cozy mystery fans. Each book can be read alone but is much better when read as the series.

Extremely Satisfying

A series of mysteries with middle-aged protagonists. There is a villainous entity which appears (to a greater or lesser extent) in each story . The mysteries are thought-provoking and enjoyable. And, the overall conclusion is extremely satisfying.
