Esposa De Siete Días

Rate this book

Sorry, I didn’t feel the chemistry between Yvette and Cam

Yvette has just moved for a new position, hoping this is the job she’s been looking for. On her moving day, she meets a gorgeous man that offers to help her unload the truck, that just happens to be her neighbor. Over the weekend she ends up getting to know him better, a fantastic one night stand. The surprise she gets on her first day on the job, when Cam is the one giving her the tour of the office. However, he seems to get the wrong impression, when he tries to have sex in her new office. The last thing Yvette needs is to get fired on her first day on the job.

Cam wants to have more visitation rights with his three year old daughter, but the mother is giving him a hard time. Coming up with a plan to say he is now married, this way he looks more stable in his personal life, may have not been the greatest idea. Asking Yvette to play his fake wife for a week, was not a great plan either.

I don’t like giving bad reviews, however, Cam across as flighty with his decisions to take his ex to court and telling her that he was now married, especially when he never did that. That was just one of the points that I thought that didn’t make this story better.

I loved reading Seven Day Wife by Mia Faye because it was such a great book. Yvette was moving in with the help of her best friend Tyler. She wasn't paying attention and ran into Cameron and almost knocked him down. He was gorgeous and helped her and Tyler with the rest of the boxes. Turns out, Cameron (Cam) is her neighbor and they begin flirting with each other. Their attraction to each other was instant and very steamy. Yvette has a new job at a publishing company and it turns out Cam is the editor of said publishing company. The story goes on and so does their chemistry for each other. But as things are heating up, a problem arises for Cameron and he needs Yvette to play the role of his wife. I don't want to say anymore without giving it away. But their story is very very sweet and heated and then there is major drama. I highly recommend reading this story of Cam and Yvette. It is a great book. I also love the cover. This is how I pictured Cam and Yvette.

Historia sencilla personajes maravillosos.

A Chance Meeting. A Gamble.

Our two main characters first meet unexpectedly. Yvette is moving boxes to her new apartment and Cameron is on mid day run. They start talking and the flirtation and sexual tension between them builds quickly. It is so great that a few days later they spend an enthralling night together. And predictably, although they are neighbours they know nothing about each others professional life. So when Yvette starts working in the same publishing office as Cameron there is surprise and some consternation.

Cameron Palmer is the office manager of Penguin books. He has worked ten years for them. He is competitive, driven, hardworking and wealthy. He has blue eyes and blond hair. He is gorgeous and sexy. Yvette is attractive, hardworking, industrious and literate. She has just been employed as a new editor, so Cameron is her boss. She wants to do a good job. She wants to keep her new job. So she stresses to Cameron that they must be professional at work. But is that possible? Can they keep their hands off each other.

But when Cameron reveals that he has a daughter will Yvette attitude change? Will she run away? Or will she take a gamble and agree to a fake marriage so he can get custody of his daughter? How will she react when she meets Cameron's ex girlfriend?

Well, if you want answers, go get this book. It is a good read, even though the last chapter and especially the epilogue were too concise and lacked depth.

The title says it all

The title describes the book exactly. Except, I’m not sure where seven day wife comes from. I thought they got fake married after seven days of knowing each other and they were fake married for longer than seven days. It was hard keeping track of time in this book.

Here’s a quick summary of the book: Cam and Yvette meet outside her apartment and hook up almost immediately. Then Cam finds out Yvette is a new employee at his company. Cam eventually lies to his boss (who has Alzheimer’s) and says he’s married to Yvette. This little lie continues as Cam tries to convince his daughter’s mother, Vicki the witch, that he wants full custody of her. This sets up for a decent book.

Overall, the book was okay. I didn’t quite click with Yvette or Cam. Cam started out fairly immature for a soon to be CEO and Yvette seemed pretty naive. Their dialogue was okay, but I didn’t find myself laughing out loud or shocked by anything that happened.

The love scenes were good, but there weren’t that many of them. I got bored with the book about 1/2 of the way in. The first part of the book flew, but then it just stopped. Feel free to give this book a try, but don’t have super high expectations for it. Happy reading y’all!

Done and happy. I guess having finished in less than a day says it all, doesn't it?

Five stars from me because Maya Faye's Seven Day Wife fulfilled my expectations completely.
Yvette Matthews just moved to the big city to start a job of her dreams when her good-looking neighbour Cam calls her over for a night of fun. No strings attached. Only that the one night stand turns out to be a bit more complicated, once she starts her first day at work the week after. And Cam walks in, introducing himself as her new boss...
Their chemistry is undeniable, her will not to start an office romance tested, but it all goes to waste once he comes to get with one little favour. To play his wife for a week to help his case in his fight for custody of his daughter...

The story is fluently written and easily read. I find it highly impressive how Mia Faye manages to write about heavy topics such as custody cases and deadly diseases and still keep the story light. It's not the story that makes you cry and hurt and that's exactly what I love. It draws you in and makes your heart happy because you get to fall in love with the main characters and experience their big HEA with them. Great summer read, I'm satisfied.

Thank you! 😊🙏

Very sweet and heartwarming

Seven Day Wife was much different than Mia Faye’s In His Office. I truly wasn’t sure that I would like it. However, it was a quick read and flowed very nicely.

A dual perspective book, with many lives intertwined, Seven Day Wife delivers a truly heartwarming story. Though it was fairly predictable, I did still enjoy the story.

Yvette (Vee) is a no nonsense kind of woman who is eager to forge her own path in the world. Taking her new job by storm, and her new neighbor too who just so happens to be her new boss, Vee deals with quite a bit of emotional turmoil. Everything from the awful ex of Cam’s, to the feeling of parenthood for a daughter that wasn’t hers.

Their relationship was easy, it seemed perfect, but outside forces always intervene. Cam and Yvette have to choose what to fight for; their love, their careers, or their own personal lives.

Definitely a great read if you’re looking for a happily ever after and a heartwarming story.

Yvette has moved to a new city and whilst unloading the truck she almost drops a box, that is until a handsome stranger helps her out. The attraction between the two is instant, and when he points out that his apartment is opposite hers and she can see his bedroom window, sparks fly!

Yvette arrives at her new job, one she is excited about starting, only to find out that Cameron is her boss! She is determined not to mix business with pleasure, buts it not that easy.

Cameron has a daughter and his ex girlfriend is trying to get full custody, so he asks Yvette to pretend to be married for 7 days! The thing is, his ex is not fooled, and on the worst day possible for Cameron she corners Yvette and tells her exactly what he is like. Yvette walks away but when she finally finds Cameron, she sees something that sets her off running.

Yvette is heartbroken, and goes back to her hometown, she has to get her head together with some unexpected news, and isn’t sure what to do. Will Cameron go after her? Will she forgive him?

This was a lovely story and I couldn’t put the book down.

What can I say it was a great story. I’ve never had a office a romance but if I did it would be like Cameron Palmer and Yvette Mathews romance... it was entertaining, funny, but most of all romantic..... You have to see how this workaholic Cameron gets this very ambitious publishing editor Yvette to let her guard down and pretend to be his fake wife.... it all is for a good cause for Cameron but it turned out to be a very complicated situation for them both after Cameron’s boss Wyatt Banks pass away... you have to read what happened and how this lovely 7yr old Emma plays a part in this whole story..... if her bitch of a mother Victoria Marsh don’t ruin it all..

So get to reading and see how this all plays out.... your not going to be disappointed.. 😃🥰

Seven Day Wife: A Fake Marriage Office Romance by Mia Faye is the story of Yvette and Cameron.
Yvette has move into the city to take a job with a big publishing house. While moving into her new apartment she meets her neighbor Cameron who helps her with the move. But they have chemistry that is off the charts. But then she learns that she will be working for him which she tries to put a stop on her feelings. But then he needs her help getting custody of his daughter Emma. Cameron wants her to pretend they are in a solid relationship which of course just makes their feelings grow. Enjoyed their story.

I loved this book, these characters and the dynamics of their relationship. This is a new author for me, but I will read more from her.

Yvette moving into her new apartment, literally runs into Cameron who is out for a jog. They end up spending time together and have a one night stand. When Yvette starts her dream job at a publishing company, she is surprised to see Cameron working there. The seven day wife was confusing as it was longer than seven days but you love the characters so much you don't care. Loved this book!

meh...

It was relatively well-written, without significant errors, but I just wasn't that into the story. I think some of it was little things like the Hero got the heroine to do a " fake marriage" to try to help with paternal rights from his "oops" baby, and he is still doesn't bother using condoms? There other little things in the book that just made both seem immature & self-centered that I think kept me from connecting with them. That said, there were decent sexy times, a developed story arc, and few typos.

Needs an editor

I couldn't decide if it was a poor rewrite of come True Confessions stories from the fifties turned into a book or a a rewrite of an old book with updated sex scenes. There were too many errors; the constant reference to an apartment being called a house, the idea that a woman in the age of cell phones and birth control patches needs feminine hygiene products and accidentally becomes pregnant, and that I never could figure out if she flew back to Rockford or Tyler picked her up and they drove back (road trip).

Didn’t make it quite to the 50% point

I made it as far as the ‘brownie incident’ before I realized I just couldn’t take it anymore.
I had read about her ‘thick thighs’ and her ‘thick ass’ one too many times, when I came to this realization.
Too slow-moving, and for me, too many ‘thick’ parts for a heroine in a romance. I want my h and H to be more the ideal, than ‘thick’. Also, a personal choice for me, I’d rather they not indulge in drug use.
All-in-all, for a variety of reasons, including plain old bad writing, this was just not a good book to me.

Couldn't put it down

Found this book in my recommendations and thought why not. From the first chapter i was hooked and couldn't put it down until the end. Cam is the usual good looking and of a guy some of the time but there was always something alluring underlying in his character. Vee sees it and as a reader I'm sure you will too. Thoroughly recommend this book and nice to get lost in a relationship so believable

Loved it! Think you will too...

First time I've read anything by Mia Faye. She writes believable characters who you instantly want to befriend - or punch in the face, but they're human! The story has enough subtle twists so you think you know what happens next but then something else happens. It made me laugh, cry & gave me book boyfriend envy! This is a good story, mild sexual situations, lots of giggles & everyone should read it. I'm into the next book now - thanks Mia!

Awesome book. Cameron knew what he wanted and he went for it. Yvette was moving into a new city for a new job and didnt know it would turn into an affair with the neighbor then later to find out its her new boss. His ex is crazy. Emma is a sweet heart and she makes both of her parents come to an agreement. Yvette gets scared and takes off but Cam goes after her and they get their happy ever after.

3.5

They really need to allow half stars. I enjoyed this and I think it was exactly what I needed after the disappointing series I just finished. Yvette and Cam were pretty predictable but it didn't take away from their chemistry. Overall it was a good book. Light hearted, didn't make me think too hard. Emma was great and his ex was vindictive but you could definitely understand where she was coming from. Probably wouldn't read it again but it was cute.

Eh?

Heartwarming story of 2 young people, who accidentally fall in love.
The chemistry between the characters is clear from the beginning.
Cam is the type of man every woman wants.

It would have been 5 stars, but the last chapter felt rushed, we never found out why Emma calls her Mom, or where Vicki is.

It felt as if they were a family, before they even realized it.

I loved the book. Great story telling. Kept my interest to end. It drew me in, I felt the connection between cam and Vee was powerful and real. I loved Vee connection to Emma. How they got along from beginning to end and how Emma felt so comfort around Vee.

I tried, I really did. I have read some other books by this author and seem to always walk away between 1 and 3 stars. This is the second book by this author that I could not finish. The storylines are good but I don’t think the author does a good job developing the characters. They are just flat and blah. I never really connect with any of them.

Wasn't expecting this!!!!

I read a lot of different books mainly murder and romance. This was another on my list of recommendations and I don't have into it not expecting at all what I got! Read it in 1 day. 1 story to the next we'll just drop you and make you want to read it all over again! Great work by the publishers and author
