Four years ago when Sheriff Cade Sinclair is rejected by his fiancée on his wedding day, which happens to be Christmas Day, he gives up on love and the Lord. Though he goes to church, it is just to please his mother, but his heart isn’t in it. After suffering from unrequited love, Schoolteacher Anita Mason leaves home and ends up in Springvale hoping for a fresh beginning. Her heart is broken, and she feels that the Lord has disappointed her. What the two hurting souls don’t know is that the Lord’s plans for their lives are about to unfold in ways they would never have expected.
Why ride historical romance if you don’t know your history?
First of all, let me just say if 215-year-old boys stop going to school in the 1800s and they were from dysfunctional families for one teacher wouldn’t of called on the Sheriff but to the sheriff wouldn’t of called out the party. They had boys as young as 12 leaving their home state to go dig for gold in California in Montana and Colorado. Not to mention they had boys younger than that that had jobs and was supporting the families. If these boys were from a drunk and a stepmother who didn’t care about them people minded their business back then. The sheriff wouldn’t threaten them to go to jail he wouldn’t be out looking for him and the teacher says she likes to know what’s going on at home because it affects students in the classroom teachers didn’t say stuff like that back then. They knew nothing about domestic psychology and it’s effects on education. I’m so tired of these “19th century“ characters having 21st-century sensibilities it’s ridiculous and I’m tired of these books where no chemistry is built up between the two that are meant to be together here at the end they totally in love with each other. Also, why do you call a bride of all seasons window when the bride in the book not a mail order or “I do“ bride
I've been enjoying reading this series of stories, Brides For All Seasons, the story I just finished, Christmas Bride - Christmas Awakening, is a wonderful very entertaining tale. The young woman wanted to be a teacher, and she moved a long ways to answer an ad to do that very thing. A well written story.
Very sweet and lovely story. My favorite character was Cade’s mother. I just loved her and wish she had a bigger part in the story.
Without giving away any spoilers, there’s a scene towards the end, that I completely guessed wrong as to who the culprit was, as well as the motive! I wouldn’t have been a very good detective 🤷🏼♀️
Unrequited love, a move to a new town, a flood, runaways, arguments, bad parenting, fear, searches, and abandonment all reside in here. Does love abound in the end or more broken hearts?
This was a great story. Cade had suffered heart ache four years ago . The new school teacher, Anita, had her heart broken, the reason she had sought this school for her teaching. After their heart aches, they found true love. A must read.
