Ethan and Holm hoped they had stopped the zombie drug at its source, but when new cases start popping up much closer to home, they immediately leap into action. From New Orleans to the deep bayou, Ethan finds his two worlds collide when the trail leads to pirates.
Now, Ethan and the MBLIS crew must put everything on the line to end this menace once and for all!
Matt Lincoln has lived his entire life on the coast and he wouldn't have it any other way. A lifelong fan of Travis McGee, Magnum PI, and just about anyone who knows their way around a boat and a good cigar, Matt now lives where the sand meets the surf with his beautiful wife, a son who reminds him way too much of himself at that age, and an Irish Setter who he can never seem to tire out. Life is good.
Bayou Pirates is one of the best books in this series yet!
From long lost ships to zombies, this book, actually the entire series is exciting and interesting! There are many layers woven into the plot, providing the reader with several timelines of interest. Like the young crowd that gather together for another of Marston's stories, I can hardly wait until the next one! Great job by Lincoln!
I really like this series. Marston and Holm make a great pair and they have a great relationship that makes them fun to read. You always have to approach these with a rather large helping of suspension of disbelief. Normally, this is pretty easy to do. Until these last two books.
The previous entry in the series was pretty out there, but other authors have travelled the zombie drug path so I stuck with it. This book continued and built on that same craziness and I has just gotten used to it when I hit the last two-and-a-half chapters. My suspension of disbelief got stretched and then finally unraveled and fell apart. I really hope we can leave this storyline behind us.
I’m not saying to skip it… just make sure to leave any skepticism at the door.
The MBLIS team continues from their previous adventures in Hispaniola in this newest book. Despite having their Federal funding issue resolved, the bean counters are causing “hiccups” still so the team finds a work around. This task takes them right to the heart of pirate land here in the US. The food descriptions are divine and make me want to travel to the Big Easy again. The MBLIS team manages to combine the professional with the private yet again and it looks like the story will continue in the next book! I’m always left waiting not so patiently like all those Navy kids for what comes next! A brilliant read!
I love these stories about old ships and their bounty. Adding pirates just adds to the excitement. Refreshing to read a book that doesn't focus on sex and swearing
