Morally Decadent

Enzo Agosti.
New York mafia royalty.
The most sought after bachelor.
Now… My husband.
He tricked me into marriage when I was promised to another.
He wooed me with sweet words and tender caresses.
Only to feed me to the wolves and watch me suffer.
His father thinks I'm not worthy of him.
His mother wants to torture me to death.
Enzo ignores me during the day and only seeks me out at night.
The more I fall for him, the more I realize he doesn't feel the same.
Yet just as I plan my escape, two purple lines trap me forever.
He says I'm his. That he'll never let me go.
But will he be mine, too?

Morally Decadent is an angsty enemies-to-lovers dark mafia romance that spans over a decade. It should be read after Morally Corrupt and Morally Blasphemous. This is a very dark book. Please check the triggers before proceeding!

I'm speechless for once but I'm not sure it's a positive thing. I'm an expert at finding books that will send most run screaming. 😇

If you have any triggers at all, the only thing you should do is run and run as fuckin' fast as you can from this story. Just saying.
That being said, 😂 I didn't like the book even though the beginning was engaging and promised me a pleasant pastime.

I'm not in the reviewing mood so I'll just briefly name things I liked and disliked about the story:

+ many plot twists;
+ quick pace (tho it's a minus in this case too) 😂;
+ dual virgins;
+ Enzo' s obsession with Allegra;
+ absolute devotion thus no cheating;
+ Allegra's revenge and bloodthirstiness.

- never ending "little tigress" as an endearment being played on repeat;
- absolute ridiculousness of 80% of the story's scenes;
- the author trying so SO so incredibly hard to make Enzo's and Allegra's banter funny and witty and failing miserably;
- crazy ass pace of the story.
You would think it's impossible to shoehorn the heroine's /¡escape from home,
& sinking, & rescue, & skirmish with mafia, & near drowning again, & rescue, & being shot, & surgery, & blood transfusion, AND & wedding!\ 😂😂😂 into a few short chapters but the author nailed it. LOL. I just couldn't catch a break and you know the worst part? It didn't make any sense. To me, that is. All these situations were resolved so smoothly and quickly that they illuminated the word IMPLAUSIBLE in neon signs for my brain to see. Every conflict needs a decent resolution so why create dozens of poorly resolved situations when you can create 2-3 conflicts and concentrate on making them work???

I'm no expert at the writing style but it was all about the author putting the unhealthy number of events in the shortest timeline rather than focusing on the quality of their execution;

- immature behaviour on both Enzo and Allegra's parts;

- the lethal concentration of mean ass people in one story.

If 80% of the people in your story are evil, please make it make sense. The only más o menos developed and fleshed out characters in the book are the hero and the heroine and the majority of others were one-dimensional sick and deranged personas acting meanie to serve the plot's logic(?) . They got their comeuppance but I didn't get any satisfaction. I got the impression their whole personalities were used as plot devices and I couldn't see real people in them.

- the lack of the actual plot.
I'm confused asf as I'm writing this but I got the unmistakable soap opera vibes while reading this story. The events were all mixed up in a huge mess and yet again I didn't see the point of anything that took place. You see, the words are failing me. The storyline, deliciously twisted as it was, simply didn't make any sense and had no obvious direction. The further I submerged into the story, the more I felt like someone forced me into some Mexican telenovela's world that drags on and on and on and on and on and no. Well, you got the memo.

If my brain had the capacity to be triggered by fictional situations, I would probably be uncomfortable and outraged with the following events:

🔔Enzo changing her pills for vitamins and impregnating Allegra without her consent.

🔔Enzo's mother is a pedophile who attempted to rape her own son and succeeded in sexually violeting him when he was barely nine. These scenes were quite graphic.

On a positive note, he killed her but only when she tried to poison his wife aka the heroine. Yet again I was wondering why he couldn't have exacted his sweet revenge earlier knowing what a vile creature his mother is.

🔔Sorry, guys, but I cannot keep that tad bit of information to myself...
In order to put an end to her miserable existence, he opted for putting maggot eggs and then a PYTHON in her vagina and YET AGAIN I'M ASKING MYSELF HOW THE FUCK I EXCEL AT FINDING BOOKS LIKE THIS WITHOUT EVEN A SUBTLE EFFORT-😂😂😂

There were a lot of murders going on in the story, although as I've already mentioned I didn't give a single flying fuck about them because almost all the characters except for the leads were the vices incarnated and plot driving instruments in the author's toolbox.

I see I'm in the minority here but the story could have been executed so much better. Everything was so all over the place I cannot even properly explain the extent of this. I'll probably read the first book in the series tho. 😂😂😂 But not anytime soon. 😵 My brain needs some mulled wine, rest and peace. Amen

this book contains a crazy mom, jealous bitchy people, twin switch, very murky torture methods (just saying, is putting a snake into your mom's vagina really a good torture method? in this book, i think it is! 😍), a lot of miscommunication, drama, and angst! the perfect mix, right. 🥰

let's get to the good part! i have to admire the author's imagination, bc that is truly stellar fr. well done. 👏 congrats. i would never have even thought up of such scenarios before i read this book, so consider my life fully changed. it provided me with some entertainment, at least that's for sure. the dual virgin part also i absolutely LOVED! the idea, i mean, not the execution of it-

can someone PLEASE explain to me what was the whole point of having both of them to be virgins if half the entire book was drama about the fact that Enzo was supposedly sleeping around on her?? okay, yes, they were married and both were supposed to stay faithful, fine. but Enzo, the hero, wanted to make Allegra submit to him, adore him, almost love him, and the only way he found to woo her was to antagonise her and make her believe he was sleeping around on her?? stellar job, mate, well done!! 👏👏👏 i truly admire his resilience.

but truly tho, the half star is for Enzo when he wasn't taking part in all the miscommunications - i actually felt pretty sorry for him for everything that happened to him. after all, what his mom did was just horrendous.

and the other one star is just for the mention of Vlad in this! can we give him a round of applause for bringing this book up for me even tho he only appeared in one scene?? 🤩🤩🤩

Allegra. let's come to her. the elephant in the room. she was - how do i put this - "little tigress"? i did like her in the start, tbh. she was so sweet and innocent and good, and the banter between Enzo and Allegra was there, albeit a little teeny bit stilted. but after the first 1/3rd of this?? holy shit that deteriorated so fucking fast. the way she overreacted to everything?? the way SHE was the one who told him to go sleep around but then became angry when she thought he was doing that very thing? the way she actually betrayed him, THEM, but it was never really addressed?? the things that happened in this book just opened my eyes. what the absolute fuck. 😱🤭

please, i can't even believe in Allegra and Enzo's supposed "love" after reading almost 500 pages of them 💀 let me go bury my face in the sand now bc the embarrassment of everything - ALL THE DRAMA - in this book killed me ngl. i can't believe i actually loved the first two books sm and then this happened. at least i know Vlad's book is gonna have to make up for this, bc the entire reason i started this series was to read his book! and i really hope that's going to deliver. plus, Assisi already has my whole heart. 🥺

so after all this if you still wanna pick up this book, i just have to say one thing - check trigger warnings 😂 if this hasn't told you yet, this shit was DARK.

STORY:
I felt as though I was mind f$&!ed, and it’s now time to sit back, take out the cigarettes for after care. The thought process that went into this book must have been crazy. I kept imagining what the writer’s story board looks like with all these characters.

I’ll start by saying, you have to be invested in this series and the author’s style of writing and storytelling to appreciate this story. For maximized enjoyment, I definitely would say read the previous books in the series. I appreciate that Enzo’s and Allegra’s story spans a decade, so patience is key and with that patience, in between is still a beautiful story being told regardless of all the darkness. After reading book 2 Morally Blasphemous, I was scratching my head a bit. If you’ve read book 2, you know the story of Enzo and Allegra. I could not wait for the author to explain to me the scene Catalina from book 2 walked in on with Allegra. The infamous couch scene.

Part 1 The Meeting
Enzo gave me the impression, he was a bit into himself. His thought process of all these women throwing themselves at him was questionable. However, it makes sense once we get to know more. In part 1 he was likable, playful even with Allegra and I enjoyed their back and forth bickering; it was entertaining. They were both so guarded though, and I felt because of Allegra’s past, she jumped right from the frying pan into the fire in Enzo’s home.

Part 2 WTF, All Hell Broke Loose
Part 2 and even part 1 were played like chess in my mind between both characters. As we move into part 2 with Enzo and Allegra, we are still on cruise control. However, when the gears start to shift, and we move deeper into this section, I kept thinking, this can not be the same Enzo from part 1 *raised eyebrows*. Enzo evoked so many emotions from me, I love him, I detest him and then sympathize with him. He was a tortured soul. We see Enzo struggle with his demons, but following Allegra’s journey was emotional. She deserves MVC, most valuable character in this story. At 70% percent my eyes misted, how much can one person take. The climax of part 2, unreal the drama with this family, they need some serious sage.

Part 2 is like the heart beat pumping out all this information and characters. It also sheds light on a lot of details. Said details will be very disturbing. Be prepared.

Part 3 La Femme Allegra
Part 3 had me on the edge of my seat. Allegra’s transformation was epic for me. This is the climax of everything, so it was good reading it all. I will say this, I feel Enzo was more in his element in his Mafia role in book 2. Although this book had violence; I don’t feel I got to see Enzo a lot in his element with the Mafia. This story was more focused on the evolving relationship between Enzo and Allegra.

CHEMISTRY:
As much as both Enzo and Allegra were tortured souls, their physical chemistry was appealing. I am not one for the blood fetish, but Enzo and Allegra did it so well. I think they were both vampires in a former life lol.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS
Rocco, Enzo’s father, whatever. Lucia, how do I say this in the nicest way, mmmmmmmm, I will drag her outside, stone her, shoot her, take her to the hospital, get her well and do it all over again for each year she took a breath. That should convey my feelings towards her. I think Assisi’s story will be next. I am so curious with what’s going on with her and wanted to know since book 2. To all the couples from all 3 books, at the rate these couples are having kids, we might need a Next Gen series.

Overall, another good read for me by the author. For this book, it was definitely all about the storytelling and how it was conveyed to me. I am glad it had dual POV to experience both characters emotions and thoughts. Although it evoked all these emotions from me, I am please to see how it turned out.

**Triggers: torture scene, child abuse/molestation, gun violence etc.... triggers and warnings are noted by the author in the book prior to reading.

***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful.

I was skeptical about this one.
I went in ready to hate it because if you've read the other 2 books, the h was horrible.
I was left pleasantly surprised.

"If I could turn back time, I would choose death over him."

WHAT THE FUCK.

Now this is one of those books I want to burn the main characters alive. AND I HATED THIS BOOK WITH A BURNING PASSION OMG

First of all before reading this book, I was scared. I was so scared bcz it had every red flag trope you could think of....but then Veronica Lancet's imagination surprised in a most twisted way possible. So yeah I was SO DISSAPOINTED in the characters and soo many things and how the story turned out, dumping everything in the last chapter.

What. The. Actual. Fuck. That is the only three words I got to describe my reaction reading this book (wtf in a bad way not surprised way😒).

Okay it started off great them being enemies him marrying her for 'only his purpose but telling her its bcz to free her'😑✋. But then things escalated BADLY. SO MUCH MISCOMMUNICATION SO MUCH I WAS pulling my hair out. BECAUSE I wanted to kill him😭

------ Good things ------

The writing was spectacular.😌

Okay there was one good thing....there romance in the first 20%. I adored it, I loved it so much, and yes I was falling for Enzo too!! There first meet was PERFECT, loved it sm.

Who would've thought we'd fit so well? Two people who can't stand each other but are quite good at stoking the flames.

The whole boat scene AHHH I was laughing CZ THEIR BANTER WAS ON POINT!!

Ohh I was so in love with their banter ugh😪 it was swoon worthy, there bickering and them hating each other but silently falling.
I LOVED ENZO in the first 20% he was trying so hard to make her happy😭. He actually rented a sweetshop for one day just for her.♥

Desire becomes increasingly nuanced, from shadow to deep. Amd in the end, the love that is Bourne out of desire is all-encompassing. It becomes whole because by desiring the soul -the very essence of being- everything becomes beautiful.

Yeah but then things got worse....

------ Now the bad things: ------

Enzo
I didn't understood him at all. He wanted her to submit to him so badly, but she didn't wanted to submit so easily. So he told her actually he made her belive he was sleeping with other people how- how am I- how was I suppose to like him?
Then he goes on ghosting her almost all the time. ALL. THE. TIME. Making her think he's with other women. But no its just because he's too inlove with her that he thinks he'll lose control 🤦‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️

Allegra *over dramatic bitch.🙄*
I liked her in the first 20% of the book, actually loved her. But then she just....changed out of nowhere like LITERALLY 😭. First she tells him to sleep whomever he likes and blah blah blah, and then she gets angry ALL of a sudden just cz she smells lady perfume on him🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

And then when things finally gets settled- She betrays him!?!? Excuse me. I wanted to SLAP THAT BITCH ON BOTH OF HER CHEEK😤. I mean if a man kills someone especially if somone is the person who tries to rob you while you're pregnant. She just goes on being an overdramatic bitch about it. And betraying him.🙄✋. And the betrayal wasn't even addressed at all!?

Okay I get it that those things that happened to Enzo shouldn't have happened. It was the sickest thing I've ever read in my life. THE MOST SICKENING back story of a character 😖

Some people grow up fearing the masters under the bed. I grew up fearing the one in my house.

BUT LEMME ME TELL Y'ALL 😆 HE TOOK the absolute perfect revenge bro-😭.
He placed her on the table tilting it so her body is upside down. Then opening her *-v-* and putting garbage...cheese and all then throwing deadly rats.... then after some time.... placed a DEADLY HUNGRY snake in her *-v-* so he woukd eat the rats....and later eat her insides....yeah...and left her...✌😗

"I can make you feel so good, Enzo"
Ugh it's making me sick all over again.

Their romance was barf worthy except in the first part of the book-✋ . I didn't understand it. I didn't even cared for their dying relationship. Reading that last chapter; I was dead laughing.....cz wow👏😒

This book was so confusing it's enemies-to-lovers, then to so much miscommunication, and then ALL THAT DRAMA. kill me now💀.

It was very dark. Holy shit this book was...like bloody dark. So please check tw's before reading this.

we'd be like tesla and his white pigeon, and our love would know no bounds. And maybe beyond our carnal shackles, we might merge into our, become a primeval androgynous: two parts of a while put together, the ultimate union of souls

Now I can't wait from the next book cz it's VLAD'S and AHHH I am already in love with that man. And thank you so much Veronica for making his appearance in this😐 which was just once so yeah.

♡-------------♡

Buddy reading with my bestie 😉 Lila!! Ugh I had so much fun with you babe. So glad I wasn't alone for this ride😉. Can't wait to start the next book.

This books felt so much longer than it actually was. I was exhausted by the end. It’s not a bad thing - but also not the greatest thing. I’m confusing you all, I know.

Look, this whole book was a calculated mess. The hero was so messed up but I kinda get why (and if you’ve seen my past reviews you know I never defend asswipes). He had enough trauma to make half of the therapists in the country rich.

This dude made mistake after mistake - and literally all he had to do is communicate and be honest. At some point he became toxically obsessed with her. (he was always obsessed but there came a point where it was no longer unhinged in a romantic way and it veered into straight up “you gotta get away from this guy” type of situation)

I liked the heroine. She was confused by him which was a perfectly normal reaction and she kinda gave back what she received. I felt like in spite of her upbringing, she was solid in the head not to mention smart and kind enough. Basically a good person but not a pushover.

The part that ruined the story for me (hence the rating - although I still gave it 4 stars because I liked the first part quite a lot) was the OTT - total telenovela scenarios that were just so ridiculous I genuinely laughed.

His “punishment” for his mom - who even comes up with that!? Like how? I .. am speechless. And it was very horror like - but because it was so extra - it just made me laugh.

Then the other thing that was just too much - the way Allegra just turned into this bloodthirsty psycho bent on revenge - I mean I get the anger and the need for revenge - but for someone who never killed anyone to all of a sudden start implementing torture techniques from the Middle Ages - yeah I’m not buying it.

Anther OTT part was the whole coma stuff and how that came about. I don’t wanna spoil it by giving more details - but for me that “twist” was too much like something out of some Telemundo script.

Despite the many many issues I had with it - I mostly enjoyed myself reading it, I definitely wanna read the rest but I’m not quite ready for the next book seeing how it’s 700 pages and I think it’s gonna be quite horrific to digest in parts.

These books are dark people - not in a very angsty way but because they have really grossly violent and disgusting scenes.

My favourite book so far this year! Be warned this has so many triggers but honestly the main couple are so beautiful together that I could almost cry. This book had such disturbing contents but the best thing is the satisfaction I got when certain characters got their just desserts. I just finished this and I am still thinking about it and trust me that doesn’t happen a lot. Really really enjoyed this.

“You're my little tigress and nothing and no one can replace you.”
description

This is a story about undying love and sacrifice.

Enzo's and Aleggra's story is nothing I expected all. Being honest I didn't anticipate it being so complex and having so many plot twists. Suddenly everything made sense when the truth was revealed. This story was so dark and twisted, which made it so unique. The idea of the plot is nothing I have ever read. I loved it sooo much.

If I could rate the book above 5 stars it would be at 57836938648972897387 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow. Just wow. This was such a beautiful story! I adored it. In fact this might be my favourite from the serie...

If I liked Enzo in the previous books, after reading Morally Decadent I am absolutely enamoured with him! Knowing Allegra from the previous books, I have to admit I was reluctant to read a book with her as a main character. But damn, Veronica Lancet managed to surprise me again. My perspective of Allegra has done a 180°. She is strong, brave, badass and simply unique. A great female lead!

Also, I absolutely adored the Ancient Greece references! Psyche and Eros' story has always been a favourite of mine and this book has just become one of my favourite retellings.

Finally, I'm grateful that Veronica Lancet was so kind to send me an ARC of her amazing book! Cannot wait to read the next one!

There were times while reading this book, that I reached a 4*- 4.5* experience - there are some really sweet, wonderful and enthralling episodes.
But then the book also gets incredibly ludicrous at times, dipping to an almost zero, even below.
You know when a book makes you feel mad - or betrayed?
Not just with its ott careening all over the place but also with the cavernous plot holes.
And what if one ends up snickering during a supposedly dark, tense or gross patch?

So, still an overall 2.75*.
For an intriguing world building ... and as all books have inter-connections, I may read/skim the first two books to get more on the Gallaghers, Lastras and the Ashbys.

The story goes through an upsetting amount of ups and downs - and time - as I struggled to make sense of the happenings, post that amazing brilliant beginning.
Despite his craziness, I get the H but not the h.
I like snark and spunk in my h but it should make sense.
How I hate misfitting and bizarre behavior on the h's part especially if it's used to push the h/H distance.
Let's not forget that for 18 years, she has been a submissive abused mouse in front of her own abusive parents. A girl who's never ventured out of her Italian/Sicilian village, a misfit now in NY high society, bites the only hand that feeds her - the H. So, yes, this girl kinda brought a lot on herself with her inexplicable and incessant hostility and rebelling.

*sigh* But this is only a bit of it. And just the beginning.
We still have a long, long ... long way to go! With years of contrived discord and separation. And the most bizarre, ludicrous and sickening twists.
I had to google ancient methods of tortuous deaths - as I suppose the author had before writing the book/series. :D

After basing the h/H's whole conflict/disagreement on his being a part of the mafia, the h pretty easily decides at the end that maybe it'd make for an easier/safer life if they remained a part of this life. Although to be fair, it's a practical decision because they could become easy targets for any power hungry or a vengeful wannabe.

ALSO: I cannot see the logic of making parents evil - comically so. Bad or uncaring or selfish is one thing but an unreasonably evil family who exist just to be evil to the h - reasoning be damned?
Although the H's mother is the worst fictional parent I've ever read about. She gave me some serious jeebies.

A/N: Can a completely isolated-naive girl become an expert on sex with just an afternoon reading of a rom/smut book? Hmmm, reminds me of many such afternoon readings of my own. :p

Mafia Romance
Arranged Marriage

I previously DNF this book at 75% last year.
Then in this days i started read the first 2 books in this series and i liked them a lot, mostly the first one. In them again i saw a few things i remembered reading in this one and it confirmed my dislike but at the same time i needed to read it all to be able to fully understand Vlad's next story AND of course reading it with different eyes ,because i have a different picture of all this characters .

Now, my opinion is the same as it was last time even re reading it again

Overall i liked Enzo and i kept thinking their relationship will evolve, but no man, this kept getting worse and worse. This didn't help at all..i couldn't connect with them.

They started really good but then as soon as they get together intimately i didn't liked their behavior anymore, i couldn't stand how in 1 year of them being intimate , they didn't get closer to open up a little bit... Fight by day and fuck in the nights...it made me distance my self of them to be honest...

Then she was pregnant and i started liking them again until...of course again Enzo decided to not communicate with her, the miscommunication in this one drove me crazy!

Random thoughts:

-Allegra and Enzo's back and forth was in the way to long for my fucking liking! i got so annoyed by them, like years are gone and they still didn't solve a thing in this, they are still at point 0!

- I despise and HATE books where we have a heroine thinking she is UGLY, and not only that, we get to have all the persons in this book calling her out for it, which was so damn annoying for me,! (the only saving grace is Enzo that is the only one that doesn't point it out)

-I can't stand the fact that Enzo let his mother in his home, also how come he never suspected what she will do to Allegra, i was really upset honestly by it or the fact he never saw bruises on her body? anyway at least the revenge he got with her? was awesome, so gross but genius ahaha.

-can't also stand the fact that he didnt take care of Chiara immediately , honestly, 5 years of her being ''mom'' and ruining Allegra's name, another not cool thing from his part, he killed in cold blood a lot of people, he could've take care of her too, who cares.

-they keep what they think for them selfs. He should at least tell her about Mamam

- I liked Enzo most of the times, his devotion and jealousy was awesome and i can get it sometimes when he did wrong due to his horrible past. Allegra granted on my nerves a few times...but she was likeable overall.

So after rereading it, from 1 star i go up to 3.
Overall the story was good but not like the other 2,unfortunately...
All that miscommunication killed it for me, i needed more love between them mostly before those 5 years.

Now? i can't wait to jump in Vlad's story, less of him in this one, well...at all to be honest , i missed him xD

A fabulous addition to the series and this one was definitely an angsty one chock full of twists and turns this really was one rocky journey to future happiness. I kind of did guess the twist but that was ok I still really enjoyed myself here. This was an enemies to lovers forced marriage mafia romance and was centred on characters we have met previously in this series.

So this focused on Enzo and his wife Allegra from the time they first met up until present events. And Allegra wasn’t portrayed in a good light at all in previous books so I was very interested in learning more about her: just what makes her tick and also just what was the status-quo between Enzo and his wife actually was and also the fact that they both seemed to play around on each other.

What we have previously learned here was then thrown completely out of the window as a new picture slowly starts to emerge. One that’s so very different from what you think you already know and nothing about this then was simple or straightforward far from it.

Allegra and Enzo’s courtship was an angsty one both carrying so much personal baggage and hidden vulnerabilities they’d both rather keep hidden. Allegra struggles with her self-worth and because of her background an inability to lower her walls making her somewhat prickly and argumentative. Enzo well right from the beginning he was a master at self-sabotage his past definitely impacting his now.

There were times I disliked Enzo’s actions with a passion his way of constantly striking out at his new wife as a way of shielding his own perceived vulnerabilities and also as a form of self-preservation was at times overly harsh and sometimes even cruel. He struggled so much with his own internal chaos he actually ends up pushing away the very thing he wants most Allegra, but then he panics and tries to hold on tight when he thinks he’s going to lose everything that matters. He manipulates and schemes to get his own way but is in fact his own worst enemy. But despite the above when I learnt of Enzo’s background my heart bled blood and tears. I kind of got why he was so messed up and confused. Didn’t excuse his earlier behaviour but It definitely assisted me in understanding just why he is the way he is.

Allegra well I adored how she evolved throughout this it was quite a journey of discovery for her one where she eventually took hold of the reins of to achieve her ultimate objective taking back her power from those who had trodden her down and it was great to observe her finally come into her own.

This was well written and an easy page-turner it deals with some dark material so please be aware it has some deep triggers and if you are at all sensitive to childhood abuse then be aware this does contain this. This managed to surprise me and I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did another great addition to the series.

Holy cow. Wow. To say this book surprised me is a huge understatement. I think this might be my favorite from the series.

After reading about Enzo from the previous books, I was really intrigued by his character and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on his story. After reading about Allegra, from the previous books, I was hesitant to read a book with her being a main character, but Veronica Lancet managed to shock me once again. My perspective of Allegra has completely changed. She is such a strong and unique female heroine. I’ve never read a book with a heroine quite like her.
Looking forward to the next book in the series. Can’t wait to see what Veronica Lancet comes up with next!

Hi, it's me again with my review of this series HAHAHA
I'm sorry guys I'm so obsessed with it, I just posted a review of the previous book a few hours ago and I'm already up writing my review of this book.
Literally binged through 2 books in a day and I can't even muster up a single regret.
How is it that this series gets better with every book?

This book was a pain in the ass page-turner, and I say pain in the ass because I pushed doing my assignments to read this book.

This book definitely sucked me in more than the previous book, given the fact that I couldn't stop reading long enough to take a piss.
This book might be my favourite out of all the books in the series, and it's mainly because the focus of the book is on the characters and not the plotline, there is still the whole mob story, but it wasn't taking as much attention as it was in the previous books in the series. I always loved the scenes of the character's interacting with one another in the previous books, but it was often overshadowed by the plot taking center stage.
So when I read this, it was much easier to digest, and I end up loving it more due to the shift in focus
And I swear, from the start to the end, it felt like I was watching a non-stop romance/action movie.
There was drama lurking at every corner and I LOVE it.

There were so many questions I had before reading this book, even MORE after reading the first few chapters.
How is Enzo going to fall for Allegra? The woman who practically had sex with everyone?
How did their relationship get so bad? Why does Enzo hate-even disgusted- by Allegra but still able to have children with her?

And as I continued reading, everything unravelled.

There were at times where I felt Enzo was pretty mean, especially since I had a different experience from the first two books' heroes, but his obsession with her and the fact that he actually feels remorse, plus his crazy background story made it easier to empathize with his character, and I could kinda look passed it.

This book probably had the most ANGST in terms of the character's relationship development, mainly because it was more drawn out and we had to go through the entire up-down of their relationship-and there was ALOT.
I love angst, so it doesn't bother me as much, as long as the hero doesn't cheat on the heroine, I am quite a masochist in reading about the turmoil of the character's relationship.

And it certainly delivered, and I ate it up really easily

Were there plot holes? Sure.
Do I care? Fuck no.
As long as I am entertained, I won't read too much of the whys or hows of the credibility of a plan the main character decided to come up with. It doesn't matter to me, because there will always be plot holes in every story if you keep looking for it.

Also I just want to emphasize ENZO'S LOYALTY.
Like damn, he had a whole 5-year plan to take down the whole organisation just for the heroine.
The fact that he will always and had PROVE that he will do whatever is necessary for the heroine is just commendable.

If she wants to stab him right in the heart? He is going to make sure she has the best angle to do so.

And I thought it couldn't get any better than celibacy, but a virgin HERO??? This author has successfully made its place in my Favourite list.

Trigger warning: Everything, just everything. Like seriously, don't read it unless you can take a LOT.

"... I'm just as empty as you are. That's why I know we can never be. Two voids do not make one whole.

"No," his mouth pulls up slightly, "they make an abyss..."

You know that feeling when you finish a book and all you want to do is just scream at the world to stop everything they're doing and to pick up that damn book because they're missing out? Well, this is me right now. Stop what you're doing. Dive into this world. You will not regret it.

I've spent the last two weeks or more in the Morally X world and my god, I feel like an addict, hooked and just wanting, no actually, scratch that, needing more. It's sick.

If you've seen Enzo and Allegra from the very first book, you already know their story is a major clusterfuck and definitely one that stands out from the rest. God, I hated Allegra in the first two books. She was a minor character but she was a big enough pest for me to feel strongly against her so when I saw this book was about Enzo and Allegra, I was in denial. No way would this author have the nerve to make us sit through a book about Allegra, right? Please.

Well, little Miss Judgemental over here (Me, myself and I) swallowed up every bad thought I ever thought of Allegra and now, I'm her bitch and you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way.

I won't speak about the plot because it's honestly one of those things that you'll just have to read to feel the hype but what I can say is the chemistry between Enzo and Allegra blew me away. Even as 'enemies', you could feel the underlying tension of something simmering between them from early on and THAT my friends, is what I need in a book.

Hands down, the best book in the series and I can't wait for the next.

Warning: This book has a lot of trigger warnings that readers should take into consideration.
Side Note: It's best to read book one and two before jumping into this book but it isn't necessary.

@authorveronicalancet is already familiar with my newly found love for this certain book. And, I am tight-lipped at this point because I have no idea where to begin. I'm not going to lie, at first, I was so resistant to read the book because the two MC's were depicted so bitterly in the previous stories (It was because of how the story was crafted) It was presumed by me, that I wouldn't like this book as much as I liked the previous ones.

But,

I WAS WRONG. This book, without a question, has become one of the favourite reads. I was shaken, astounded, impressed and left with jaws wide open. I'd like to point on two characters, Enzo and Allegra because as I said, they were a big naaahh from me. Enzo, omg I've fallen head over heels for this special character, who unfortunately isn't real. That's a torment for me. I don't think I've read a character like him before. His past ached me so deeply and I cannot even perhaps think for a child to have gone through what he did. My poor baby, 😭 It was tough to understand the way he behaved because they all had concealed, agonizing reasons. Honestly, when I understood why he didn't like to be touched, I broke down.

Allegra, damn, she's a queen. I LOVE characters, who aren't shown “fragile” without any explanations. And the fact that throughout the twists and turns of the story, she stood sharp. She faced all those tormentors and devils like a true damn diva!

This story is a masterpiece. PERIOD.

I highly highly highly refer to the whole series to everyone because you're going to get mindblown as I was. I don't think I can easily get over these two. 😩🤍

I can't really decide between 1.5 and 2🌟
When I read that Allegra is the h in this book I gotta say I didn't even wanted to start this because anyone who read the previous one knows she was awful, the worst and I thought the only way to be redeemed is to actually have a twin. And guess what ..I was so right😂 And I'm coming to the biggest problem I had while reading it.. it was OVER THE TOP DRAMATIC. I'm talking telenovela lvl dramatic, there was just so much going on all the time with Enzo and Allegra. She was actually the only good thing about this book(the real one not the evil twin lol) because even though I liked Enzo in his sister's book, in his own he was so annoying, mean and treated Allegra like crap.
He even switched her birth control pills so she can get pregnant🤦‍♀️ This is pretty common in mafia books as I've already read in another mafia book and its still not okay!!! I hate how this was glossed over when he finally confessed. Also it was full of miscomunication when one simple conversation could shorten the book by half. It was also a little lengthy when there wasn't some big plot and the empisis was on their relationship and later the plot twist with the evil twin. I mean come on does no one saw this from the beggining🤦‍♀️
I'm excited about Vlad's book though, that ending was interesting.👀

Wow, wow, wow. Ok, Morally Decadent by Veronica Lancet is dark, sexy, alluring, and quite addicting to read. There's just something about the writing style that really pulls you into this mafia romance. (Warning: there are triggers for this book). This story was intense in all the right ways and has the perfect enemies to lovers theme ragging throughout the pages. This is definitely not a story to miss! I'll be sure to pick up any other books written by this author!

-ALLEGRA MARCHESI AGOSTI.💜

😳SORRY NOT SORRY TO SAY THAT I.......... AM SPEECHLESS!!!!! , I know this a MAJOR difference of opinion b/w you and me regarding particularly THIS book 'cause most of you hated the little Tigress.

🐯 ALLEGRA "THE TIGRESS" MARCHESI.-

😈Camila Cabello - psychofreak ft. WILLOW

🩸 ENZO "THE DEVIL" AGOSTI-

💖 Please note , that , the below mentioned points are all MY opinion , please do not take offense.

THE GOOD-

💥💥💥💥💥💥 It's ........... I know that h has been called ugly girl practically by everyone in this whole book , but wasn't it just purely magical that Enzo fell in love with her anyways because he managed to see the diamond in the rough?

There's a reason that she's been portrayed ugly , because Enzo's beauty caused him....... you know what. And , Allegra is a fresh start to something that will look BEYOND his beauty and to her , beauty really doesn't matter.
💥💥💥💥💥💥

🔅Plot - 100.
✔It's execution-8o.
🔅Chemistry-100.
✔Enzo-110.
🔅Allegra-100.
✔Their Chemistry-200.
🔅Dynamics of their relationship-150.
✔Heat-200.
🔅Suspense-190.

THE BAD-

🟥The book is practically ............ unbelievable after page 150 ........... whatever's happening is just ....... everyone's double-crossing everyone and its TOO fast paced.

🟥The author struggled to merge BOOk#1 and Book#2 in this one .

🟥Both of those story lines from previous have been one and done in 2 paragraphs in a chapter , then in another 2 paragraphs later in the book , then another 2 paragraphs a while later.

🟥I am not saying that she should have elaborated them , but ....... one drawback of adding too much drama (even tho the drama's effing awesome) with SAME time-line is , it's important to know which part is to be mentioned when. I stopped reading those parts because they weren't making sense and just messing up my chain of thought.

🟥The whole Agosti-Jimenez plan? i didn't get it. I did NOT , because ....... as I said easrlier the author struggled with the merger , she wasn't able to properly explain what was happening , or maybe it's just my lack of understanding skills ...... anyways.

🟥If the author ever reads the review , I want her to know that if a revised edition is published , she should add a Family tree at the start of every book , the characters are just .....SO MANY , and being an Indian , I struggle with Italian and Russian names , they all , for some reason , sound same to me, like........ Adrian Barnett and Andrew Gallagher , they both got me a bit confused , and who is who's son and who's step-son and who is related to whom....... it's confusing , and in the upcoming ARTE DE LA GUERRA SERIES , it'll be even MORE confusing.

🟥Allegra was SO MUCH like Bianca , but you know what was a ....little bit wrong with her? She made rash decisions too quickly without giving it a proper thinking.

😈😈😈😈😈😈I DO NOT MIND THAT SHE WENT TO THE FEDS.
NOR DO I MIND THAT SHE PUSHED A LOT.

😈😈😈😈😈She DID take a bullet , now did she not? And they had been 2getehr for 2 hours only at that time. And if you guys remember , when one night he came home covered in blood , and she KNEW that he was having an affair( no he wasn't actually) and she was angry STILL she helped him clean his wounds.😈😈😈😈😈

🟥I guess people hated her because Enzo was bending backward for her , she wasn't relenting or giving in , and I COMPLETELY sympathies with her. Because YEARS of ALL KIND of abuse from your OWN blood ...will make you like that ...... untrustworthy of someone who is NOT YOUR blood.

😣❗❗❗🔴🔴🔴🟥🟥🟥🟥THE INFAMOUS PYTHON SCENE-😣❗❗❗🔴🔴🔴🟥🟥🟥🟥

Nero brings forth the second cage, handling it with far
more care than the first.
Inside is a medium-sized yellow-green python. Equally as
starved, Nero is particularly careful with the mouth, holding
the snout closed with his hands.
Mother, even in her languid state, opens her mouth to
exclaim her disbelief at the sight. Measuring well over two
meters, the python looks threatening, especially for her
current condition.
Her eyes widen before her brows crease and I know she's
realized the purpose of the snake.
With great care, Nero eases the python inside her vagina,
and when it's well inside, he lets go. The snake slithers his
way deeper, hunger gnawing at him as he searches for his
prey.
It's pretty obvious when the first feeding occurs, as
mother's stomach expands with the python's jaws as he
gulps down one rat, slowly swallowing it whole and letting
its digestive agents work at dissolving the organic matter.
Mother's entire body starts convulsing, and the corners of
my mouth slightly pull up at the sight.
The python should be hungry enough for the second rat
too, and even more, ensuring that he'll be swallowing some
of mother's organs by the end of it. Another tidbit I'd
learned in my research is that snakes digest food better
when they are warmer, so mother's body should be the
perfect environment to ensure an almost endless hunger.

"So no, I don't want her love, but I don't want her hate either. Is there a middle ground, I wonder?"

After the way Enzo & Allegra's relationship was portrayed in the last books, I wasn't very keen on reading this book because I'm not a fan of cheating. But imagine my surprise when the book turned out to take a full 360 degree turn and suddenly my perceptions were challenged. Not everything is as it seems and I found myself loving Allegra from the first page itself! She was so adorable and the perfect match for Enzo. The plot was overall highly engaging but the pace felt slow. It only has 30 chapters but they were so long that the book almost felt dragged in my opinion. Other than that Enzo was such an idiot in the first few parts. If he just communicated with Allegra instead of letting her think the worst of him, most of their problems would've been solved. Though the last part was definitely my favorite. My heart broke for what both Enzo & Allegra had to endure since their childhood and it was about time they got their revenge. I can't wait to read Vlad & Sisi's book next!

Enzo has it all or so he thinks, men want to be him and woman fall at his feet, all except Allegra. Taken from one cage and entering another doesn't change her plan to escape. but escape comes in many forms can Enzo bring Allegra the ultimate escape? or trap her once more? this is well written with a dark twisting and captivating story, best read after the first 2 books as to get the whole picture of the couples background. contains scenes some may find difficult to read but are sensitively written and are powerful for the overall development of the story.

5/5 𝑺𝑻𝑨𝑹𝑺

To say I'm shook would probably be an understatement... I have been waiting for this story to out once Veronica Lancet started promoting it on her Instagram. Every teaser she posted would drag me in deeper. They did give me Bianca and Theo vibes at some point too.

I do have to say I was a bit hesitant with the blood play with I've never been a fan. Now, after reading it, I can say that I may be into it now🤭 This is the kind of thing that happens when an author can deliver. She warned it would be darker than anything else she's written... and dark it is indeed.

There was a certain torture scene that made me put down my phone a few times while reading. Not because I was uncomfortable but because it was intense. It was different from anything I've read. I had to take some time to take it all in.

Enzo stole my heart. Broke it. Mended it. Being a survivor of child molestation myself, I felt for him to a certain degree. What happened to him as a child was atrocious - decadent, per se. Mine only happened once, for a few seconds, and not to the degree that he went through but it stays with you. It takes a lot to learn to heal. I almost cried a few times reading about his past. It made me hate his mother, Lucia, and his father, Rocco. I'm so happy Enzo gave Lucia what she deserved. Yet I am glad he saw a mother figure in maman where he couldn't in his own mother.

The character development that Allegra went through was a whole Rollercoaster ride: the "unrequited", both as a daughter, and a wife and femme fatale. I had expected Enzo to be intense being part of the Italian mafia and all. I did not expect Allegra to be equally so. Honestly, I loved it. I'm all for a strong queen.

Seriously loved this book! Blew me away - massively.

I was curious about Enzo from the very beginning and as I read each of the previous books in this series I just got more curious about him and so when his book came along I got excited and couldn't wait to get started.

Two words... Simply wow... These two.... Enzo & Allegra... I actually think these two are my new favourite couple of this series.

Enzo was just such an enigma really. All the way through this book. I loved his character. His back story was very complicated and sad and I truly felt for him and to see how he was now as an adult. With Allegra he was just hot and cold but I still couldn't hate him. He was just such a sad soul that I couldn't help but just love his character.

Allegra was just as broken and again her back story was very sad and it just didn't get better for her and so you just wanted to cheer her on the whole way. Her journey was amazing to watch and especially in the last third of the book. How strong she was.

Enzo and Allegra together were lovely and so perfect when they were in sync. Just a lovely couple and they were each others other half which was lovely to read.

In the previous books and the story crossed over Enzo and Allegra it was not in the best light and so as this story got to the parts where it crossed with the other stories and bits got filled in it was like ooooohhhhhh.... well that explains that then. Didn't see that coming. (insert evil laugh...)

The pace was fast and the twist and turns, the bombshells when they came, were shocking and sad and when those bombshells got dealt with I was once again cheering Enzo or Allegra on big time.

The thing about this series that I love the most is the depth Veronica takes us. I love nothing more than a good long story with so much depth about the characters that you are just immersed into this story and I have had that with each of the books in this series.

Bravo Veronica, bravo!! You are an amazing author and have quickly become one of my new favourite Authors. Now Vlad.... bring it Veronica, bring it... :-)
