"Once upon a time..." ...my best childhood nights had started with this wonderful phrase!
Ever since I can remember, I loved a good story!
All started thanks to my beloved grandfather! He used to read to my sister and me, stories of mighty princes and horrifying dragons! Even now, sometimes I miss those cold winters in front of the fireplace in my hometown, Texas!
My best stories though were the ones from the Bible! Such is the spiritual connection that a cozy warm pass through my body every time I hear a biblical story!
My childhood memories were not all roses, but I always knew that the strongest shelter would be always there for me! It was Him!
Years passed by, and little-Chloe grown up reading all kind of stories! It was no surprise that I had this urge to write my own stories, and share them with the word!
If I have a God's purpose on Earth, I think it is to spread His love and wisdom, through my stories!

This is Polly Nichols and Shawn Lawson's story. Polly Nichols stood in front of the charred remains of the only home she had ever known. Tears dripped down her cheeks and off her chin, falling to the blackened dirt below. Smoke was still rising from the center of the home and she closed her eyes for a moment as a wave of dizziness fell over her. She took several slow breaths, wishing with everything inside her soul that when she opened her eyes, she would find this day had all just been a nightmare. After her third breath, she slowly blinked her eyes, unable to stop them from filling with fresh tears when she surveyed the devastation in front of her. It was all gone. Worse yet, they were all gone. She’d headed into town earlier this morning to deliver the eggs for Pa and it had never occurred to her that she would never see him, Ma, or her siblings again. “I’m sorry, miss.” The man sounded sincere and Polly slowly shook her head as a fresh batch of tears slid down her cheeks. She looked at the sheriff imploringly, “I don’t understand how this could have happened.” Her voice caught and she used her thumbs to try and stem the flow of her tears. “I just…how?” “No one can know for sure,” the sheriff murmured. That was not an acceptable answer. She needed more. She thought back to earlier that afternoon. She’d still been over a mile off when she’d seen the plume of black smoke rising in the distance. I recommend reading. The Sheriff’s Outcast Bride by Chloe Carley is a 5 star book. I am looking forward to reading more books by Chloe Carley. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
This is another great read from this Author. This book contains some characters that were introduced from a previous book even though it is a stand-a-lone book. It was a great story. It is about women living in a boardinghouse that had once been a brothel although the story does not indicate the women that are living in the house were prostitutes. It just indicates that certain people merely assumed they were prostitutes. There are several statements in the book that indicate not everything was not as it seemed about the women living in the boardinghouse. This story is primarily about Polly one of the women living in the boardinghouse and Shawn the acting Sheriff.
In the story there is Pastor Russell who teaches the love of God and forgiveness based on the atonement of Christ. There is also Brother Jacob who is also a Pastor of sorts and more or less a fire and brimstone kind of preacher that rather than teaching the love of God teaches about the wrath of God. Telling people they must do penance in order to achieve forgiveness from God. He is also very controlling of the people in his flock.
All of the characters in the story are very well developed. There are many twists and turns throughout the story that makes the story interesting. There is no profanity and no sexually explicit dialogue.
Although Polly’s and Shawn’s relationship is the focus of the book theirs is not the only romance in the story. The story isn’t only about romantic love but also about love of family, friends, and neighbors as well as the love of God. It was not only a good read but an uplifting one too.
Wow, this story hits all of the bases: angst, love found, redemption, forgiveness, confronting evil, and faith. The author tells an amazing story where those that are frequently shunned by society are the ones who offer grace and safety and the ones who should offer protection do not. I found it interesting that 2 mean spirited narrow minded women's gossip ultimately resulted in the death of one man and the destruction of the boarding house. Unfortunately, these lost souls would never acknowledge their own culpability in anything and are to be pitied. The 'religious' group that settled around the town was a toxic cult and became more. Fortunately, the Sherriff, Pastor and ranchers believed in practicing forgiveness and lived their faith. Well written, great story line.
The Sheriff's Outcast Bride A Christian Historical Romance Book
Polly Nichols lost everything in a fire and for a while she worked in a brothel but she was attracted to Shawn Lawson the town sheriff He was a man of faith and Polly strives to be a better person and in spite of some of the people wanting her out of town She and Shawn find happiness. The characters are very strong and faithful The extended epilogue is very good and completes the story with a happy ending A enjoyable read
I enjoyed reading this book. Chloe Carley drew me in by the first chapter. This book starts off with loss, but leads to forgiveness, love, community and family. Even when a very harsh pastor comes into the story, the love of God and forgiveness of the Cross is really a wonderful thing to see in Christian romance. This book is a clean, historical, romance and love the series.
Now maybe I can FINALLY get something else done! Everytime I tried if go back to "just read one chapter" NOT!! Very different story from all the other western romances I've read. Great Christian message!!
This s the final chapter in the Lawson Legacy written by Chloe Carley. She has done an exceptional job with the plot and the characters. There is lots of adventure, excitement, love and happy endings too. I believe you will enjoy reading this page Turner.
