The plot was stretched to it's limit. That and those flashback, that seems to pop out of nowhere, were not really helping.
side note: I mean, i just want Piper to find someone else who is as sick as her. Who can actually take the burn and save her from within.
And ...She deserve some vanilla in her life cos that kink was really not for me. Out of all the kink she could have, she had be with the one that turned me off on a record speed.
I just felt Olle was one leg in and one out (with her kink). So yeah, I wouldn't mind if he is going to choose that cute girl L.

Good Lord! Just what did I read?!
Emma Luna is a brand new author to me and yet, she absolutely made me WTFing most of the time while reading this book!
It's so twisted; it's fcuked up; it's angsty too. It was everything that kept me up reading all night! There's just so much twists and turns in the story, you just don't know which way the author will take you. This book kept me on the edge of my seat while I'm biting my nails! The characters. The Mischiefs. There's just so much in the story that torn me upside down. I felt like in some parts though that it was slow moving so hence me not being able to give it a full five star rating. But otherwise, I do recommend this book!
Seriously. I'm all torn up here... wondering where I will give my loyalty to when the book ended! 😂

Where to begin as this book was so not what I was expecting, but behind the stunning cover of this novel is a story that is exceptionally creative, partially terrifying, and steamy. I read a lot and I love the dark & twisted but Piper is the twistiest of the twisted and deliciously dark. I had no idea what I was getting into with this quick read and to be perfectly honest, I truly was uncertain about it all in the beginning but my curiosity as to how all it would unfold kept me fully engaged. The world building within this novel is well thought out, the underlying story is original & interesting, and the twists were unexpected.
Piper has got to be one of the most fascinating/disturbing/slightly unhinged heroines that has ever existed. With a bit of a superiority complex, Piper is stunning and has such confidence in her beauty that she knows she can have any man that she chooses. Yet family and control are her greatest desires. Actually, I am not entirely certain that I like her BUT she is truly intriguing and her uniqueness of character is part of what make this novel so enticing. As for Ollie, let’s just say you need to read the book and I’ll leave it at that. Piper is a relatively quick read that is full of heat, torture, complex characters, and some good surprises. I suppose I should just say, dare to get out of your comfort zone, expect the unexpected, and enjoy the ride because you won’t regret it! Oh and there is a bit of a cliffhanger so don’t mind me while I not so-patiently wait to see what Ollie and Piper are up to next!

Piper is an upstanding citizen in the community in which she lives, but she hides a dark sinister secret.
Piper has had some trauma in her life, and she finds solace in Reggie. I'm going going to say anymore for fear of getting carried away. But what I will say is ....
This book is dark, twisted and unbelievable good, it's content is very different to what I've ever read before, but that just makes it so much better. Can't wait to see what happens in book 2.

Holy Mischief this book is dark, twisted and disturbingly sexy.
Piper seems like a normal person but she hides a dark secret. Raised by a drug addict mother, Piper carries the scars of her childhood. After running away at 16 she meets Reggie, a rat she manages to befriend tempting him with food. When she uses Reggie to seek revenge on the man who raped her, a fire is awoken in Piper as she takes pleasure in his pain. Years later having grown her Mischief, Piper finally finds the family she has always been looking for and will do whatever it takes to give her babies the greatest gift possible. While the rats are chewing through her latest victim Piper finds pleasure with Ollie, a troubled man referred to her for psychiatric help who is now her ‘pet’, as lines get blurred Piper considers that maybe Ollies time with them has come to an end. But will he be the next victim. We will have to wait for book 2 to find out.

**Trigger Warning- talks of abuse** This book is crazy insane. So this is on a whole new level of creepy good. Let's meet Piper who has had a tough childhood. She gets out and makes a good life but has a secret life as well. She hides her insecurities. She has trust issues and likes to be in control of everything. Then we have Ollie who is her pet. Not like an actual pet but a person she refers to as a pet. She uses him for her plans. She seduces men to feed her mischief. Which once you find out what a mischief is you will be stunned if you didn't know it is a shocker. Something new I learned about. However, while reading about the relationship with Ollie and Piper, you wonder if there will be more that will happen between them. Is the love just one sided? Will Piper continue what she is doing and move on? What will Ollie do? How will it end? Well it has a cliffhanger so we got to wait and see what will happen.

If you've read the fab Halloween Anthology earlier this year, you would have already met Piper who is an insane, slightly terrifying but ultimately loveable and inspiring character and her mischief. This book, Piper, expands on Piper and her motivations and why her mischief and Reggie are so important. It is heartbreaking and makes you root for her throughout all the craziness that happens. Ollie is also expanded upon in this story and, let me just say, I did not see half the twists that happened!
Their steam in this story is so hot - just off the charts! I loved it and it just accentuated how deliciously dark this story was. I am so excited for Managing Mischief, #2 and it can't come soon enough!

Well..... I have no idea what I just read 🙈
Piper is a narcissistic dictator, who thinks loving her babies means others have to die. Brutally. Horrifically. Bloody.
The story Emma Luna have created is disturbing and deliciously dark! The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars, is because Piper’s narcissistic behaviour does at times become a bit too much. She’s not just thinking of herself as a mum, and provider of her mischief family. It borders on God complex 😅 when she lets out a sigh or moan it’s “the sexiest sound”, her body is “perfect”, etc.
But I’ll definitely be reading the next book because wow 🤩 Emma Luna’s talent shines in this book 💗

Chillingly Clinical
Piper Newton is a Clinical Psychiatrist but nobody really knows her she projects a false persona and has done so for some years. She loves her family, her mischief but has not let anybody else truly close to her. Ollie Parker is twenty one and has know Piper for a year, ever since he was referred to her after troubled teen years and minor criminal activity. Ollie loves Piper and has done everything she has asked of him for the past year, but he desperately wishes that she could love him too and he's worried what's going to happen in the near future.
I can honestly say that this is a page turner and my stomach was clenched most of the time I was reading it. This story is dark, Piper is damaged and to some extent so is Ollie but the story makes for compelling reading and ends on a cliff hanger...I can't wait for part two!!!

This book was not what I was expecting....it was disturbing, twisted, creative, and deliciously dark! This book pushed me a bit out of my comfort zone but Emma Luna left me speechless and wanting more. Piper is such a complex individual who has suffered tragedy, violence, and loss and becomes a psychologist. Piper learns to find pleasure again in a twisted dark way. Ollie is referred to Piper and she chooses to make him a pet. Ollie comes to truly love Piper. Piper does not love or trust, but with Ollie will that change, or will end up like the others before him. This book ends on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to read book 2.

Well this book is definitely not one for the faint hearted! When Emma said it pushes boundaries, I was instantly drawn to it and was pleasantly taken by surprise!
Piper is one hell of a woman, who hides her true self most of the time - and believe me when you read this you'll definitely see why. There's some steamy scenes in this but honestly the story will keep you turning the pages more as I was dying to find out what Piper was up too.
I'm petrified of rats - which feature heavily in this book, so that definitely pushed my boundaries!

I like a good dark book...but this was dark dark, twisted and disturbing and I couldn’t put it down! This book absolutely pushed my limits of dark and I really liked it! Piper grew up in an ugly world, and she does her best to control every moment, everybody & everything. Her #1 job is to take care of her family, her Mischief and possibly Ollie?! I didn’t think serial killer was my thing, but I can’t wait for book 2...I need to know what happens!!

I originally read Piper when it was first released as part of the Torture: A Charity Halloween Anthology so some of the scenes in this were the same but there were definitely bits that were extended and changed as well as the epilogue at the end. It was one thing when I was reading the original in the anthology that I wanted an answer to and that was what happened to Ollie after his confession and now we get to know more about what is happening and hopefully some more when we get into book two.
Honestly, this story is so twisted and messed up but I absolutely love it from start to finish even on the bits that made me cringe a little.

I’m speechless! I honestly don’t know what to say about this book. I have a few ideas of what I could say but I don’t think that would be close to how I want to describe it. Emma Luna left me speechless! This books was GRITTY! This book was wickedly dark! It wasn’t what I expected but yet I was so intrigued and definitely want more. Piper is such an interesting woman. You get to learn about her difficult past and why she does things she was she does. Then there is Ollie. He is so dedicated to Piper I love it! He has also had a difficult past since he is the only one left from his family. You can see the connection instantly between the two. It’s so sexy between the two! You’ll definitely be fighting for these two and rooting for them in this book. This is definitely left on a cliffhanger that I know I need to see where it goes! It’s such an intersecting story and I’m so excited to read more and get more from these characters!

This book is dark and mysterious. You don’t get the full picture of what is happening until the end and even then you are left with questions. This book had my attention from the beginning with the dark and sexy content. This book can be triggering to some.

Just WOW... This book was amazing! The detail that was put in this was unbelievable, It was like I was transported into the book as I was reading it. The torture and explicit scenes between Piper and Ollie were so well written I felt like I was experiencing it with them. I defiantly could not put this down.

I loved Piper and her mischief. I also learned what a mischief was from reading this book so that was awesome. It was well writing I loved piper. I adored Ollie. I really cannot wait to read more. It’s was freaking brilliant!!!!

Premise was interesting, execution sadly fell flat for me.

Plot issues in such a short read were 🙄 Piper switched between being a psychiatrist to a psychologist throughout.

I did feel for Ollie and Piper’s narcissistic behaviour.
Dark themed, sadly predictable. Told not shown. It came across as a very young writing style. To me it felt the repeated phrases were used to stretch out a word count.
Second book by this author I’ve read, the first I didn’t review hoping they’d update errors. Attention to editing appears to be an issue each time. 2.5⭐️
Premise was interesting, execution sadly fell flat for me.

Plot issues in such a short read were 🙄 Piper switched between being a psychiatrist to a psychologist throughout.

Different
This is a very different type of book. I believe that the main character was well written in her crazy. I did not quite believe her age when it came to her profession. It is near impossible to be a psychologist for a year at 26. I got the impression she had been one for at least two based on her Pets and moving history. In addition, it was not quite realistic for her to try to anonymously pick up a guy at a place she frequents. His friends would be able to place him and the bartenders would be able to place her. The storyline has a lot of holes.

This is seriously dark, but in a good, dark and twisted kind of way. Piper is downright crazy! She tries to manage herself or control every aspect of her world. She has trust issues. Ollie and his dedication to Piper was a little nutty but I loved it! Overall I loved every word! I’m voluntarily leaving a review form an advanced copy that I received.

I could not put this book down, I just wanted to devour it all in one sitting. This book is Steamy, dark and twisted! . It makes you feel like you are in another world when you are reading it. I absolutely loved reading about Piper and her mischievous ways, I loved rooting for her.

While I admire this new to me author, I struggled to read this book once I realised what was happening.
It was well written, unique and I could feel the intimacy from Ollie's side - I just couldn't get past Piper's erm... kink?
It just wasn't my cup of tea.

Not for the faint of heart! You get a first row seat into the mind of a hot serial killer. High heat and full of action. The only complaint I had is how many sudden mood changes there were. However, the doesn't mean I don't recommend for someone who is looking for dark and twisted.

This is not my typical read but I thought why not try it.
Good thing I took a chance. It is dark but you just get into it with Piper with what she likes and who can't say they don't love Ollie. I can't wait to see what's next.
