His Secret Omega Co-ed
By Ava Beringer

After being assaulted when he was younger Cody went on an experimental drug that changed his scent from an omega to a beta. When the suppressants start failing causing medical problems and his natural scent slowly starts to come back his archenemy for the last 5 years, Grayson, takes notice.

I absolutely loved Cody. He has a hilarious personality and is full of snark. Grayson is a typical Alpha with attitude and bossiness galore. When they're thrown together for a project for one of their shared classes things get even funnier and more interesting. I loved Cody's BFF, Aarav, and both Cody and Grayson's families. (Except Killian. He's just a PITA. LOL) Seriously glad to see Tristan

The book is in both Cody and Grayson's POV. The angst level is low.

A solid 3 star omegaverse mpreg book. With a cover like that 3 stars is exactly correct. It was enjoyable enough even though I have a suspicion it was a vehicle for the author's stance on the pharmaceutical industry. In my fluffy mpreg??? Yikes. The pacing was a bit all over the place with huge time jumps and then suddenly a very detailed description of the omega's heat and then more time jumps. What the book chose to gloss over and what it chose to describe in excruciating detail was a bit weird. The romance between the two main characters was cute. The dramatic past and secret omega stuff kinda dragged on and on. And there were way too many "jokes" and "references" and other cringe nonsense in the dialogue. So yep 3 stars.

This was so much fun! We have:

-secret omega
-an alpha scenting his mate and sniffing around campus for that perfect omega smell
-courting
-groveling
-engineering rep
-OTT bickering
-OTT scenes (I will never look at a baseball field or math class the same again)
-babbies first heat
-very cute and supportive parents

I really like the opposites attract going on in this and seeing a very OTT lead from the POV of his enamored alpha. Watching how googly eyed in love he was with Cody was the icing on the cake, and I also was there for the intense "must protect my omega" vibes.

CWs for past SA discussed, pharmaceutical industry under capitalism and that foolery, not taking actual dosage of prescribed meds, sex shaming/victim blaming for SA survivor, pregnancy/birth.

I'm so tempted to round this up instead, I am torn.

It had such a promising start! I was enjoying the very zippy writing, and realistic conversational banter. I don't always get on with zany disaster MCs but I found this legitimately funny. I thought the MCs were endearing, I loved Grayson sniffing out his mate, oblivious Cody being wooed by Grayson, and Grayson's absolutely ridiculous gifts (everything delivered in a plastic bag). Ugh, they just fit so well together. I also thought the pacing was going well.

Unfortunately it kind of lost the plot at the end, trying to do way too much at once and wanting to tie everything up in a neat little bow. Also, please, the birth scene was completely ridiculous. I think this would've been a much more effective story if it had ended after they solidified their relationship and Cody , and the last 30 or so percent dragged a bit for me.

The fact that came as no surprise, but I found the resolution of that a bit disappointing, and then it's just mentioned in the epilogue that . The epilogue, I did not understand. Who the hell is Cass? Why are they talking, and why are they back at college? I probably just skipped a paragraph because I was getting a bit frustrated but I was so lost.

There were also a couple things I felt were being teased but then didn't go anywhere. Excuse me, but the cute omega doctor Sam and the sweet alpha firefighter Jamison didn't even meet in this book? They were without a doubt being set up as a pairing. Maybe there's another book by this author for them? I mean, I'd read it, but I can't find one anywhere, tell me what it is!!

So in the end, I'm sticking with 3 stars because the last third of the book kind of lost me, but I liked the writing and this was a sweet and endearing omegaverse story with hidden designations, scenting, and lots of cuteness. If that's what you're in the mood for, I'd definitely recommend it.

Sweet story with a lot of drama but also a lot of humor.

When Alpha Grayson Hart catches a tantalizing smell, he knows he needs to get to it I had to meet this omega. I’d never been more hot, more desperate, more ready for anything in my life.
Much to his shock, the smell belongs to the one person he has hated from the first day they met, Cody Coller my instincts hammered me. PROTECT. PROVIDE. MATE. Most of all, MINE.

Cody is a quirky nerd who has experienced a traumatic event involving another Alpha that has him convinced that he did not needed an alpha mate, but Grayson is determined to get his omega mate.

This was a sweet, hilarious read with a small bit of angst. The side characters were amazing and I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

That cover is absolutely atrocious, but it was a surprisingly fun read. I could've done without the last third of the book, which was basically a very long, drawn-out epilogue.
Reads very much like fanfiction (not saying that it's a bad thing).

Genre: Adult Omegaverse
2/5🌶️
*spice ratings are relative to similar books in the same genre*

The Catalog: M/M omegaverse, enemies to lovers, secret omega, college students, jock x nerd, opposites attract, scent-matches, past trauma, heat tending, mpreg, designation dysphoria

CWs: sexual assault (historical, described on page)

Synopsis: Cody had hoped he could go the rest of his life hiding as a beta, but when his designation blockers stop working, he panics about coming to terms with being an omega. Grayson only knows how to interact with Cody if they’re fighting, but when he catches a whiff of Cody’s omega scent, everything he thought he knew, and all he thought he felt, flies out the window. Cody is his match, but how can he turn their relationship around?

Thoughts:
Absolutely batshit silly in the best way, with over the top, cheesy and goofy characters.

I wasn’t really sure what I was expecting with this one, but the slap-stick, goofy characters and super lighthearted tone was a sweet and silly surprise.

Cody is an absolute doof in the best way, while Grayson is a properly attentive and hunky himbo alpha.

I think fans of Bro and the Beast will really like this one.

I couldn’t get enough of this enemies to lovers mpreg non shifter romance. Grayson and Cody are like oil and fire when they are close to each other they are explosive. Cory is a sassy omega Disguised as a beta. A tragic past has made him scared to be who he really is. But when Grayson his once enemy changes his tune he’s not sure what to do. Does he let in man he hated for years? Can he even walk away from the sexy alpha that does all sorts of things to his heart? He does put up quite a fight but in the end they have an amazingly sweet happy ending! Loved this book from beginning to end and I can’t wait for another book in this series.

This was a fun read. Cody is adorkable, but also very vulnerable behind the walls he's put around himself, for reasons that are explained within. Grayson was not perfect, but certainly perfect for Cody. Loved their dynamic, loved the strong relationship they built. The line between love and hate is very fine, indeed.

I knew who the villain (for lack of a better term) would be before it came out. And I cheered when he got what he deserved.

This book can be read as a standalone. Free with KU.

I enjoyed the development of the relationship here. It wasn't exactly light and fluffy as there was the whole prior sexual assault story line and the MCs were way too eager to have children but definitely a nice easy read.

3.5/5.

His Secret Omega Co-ed by Ava Beringer is a slice-of-life, nonshifter omegaverse enemies-to-lovers romance. It features mpreg, college campuses, fated mates, and funny banter.

Beringer's writing is quite realistic when it comes to dialogue between twenty year olds, family dynamics, and it is pretty funny. There are pop culture references but I didn't think they were too egregious, and made sense for the characters themselves. Also, maybe it is because I like Blink-182. Pacing wise, it was a little slow at points, and this book aims to go from enemies-to-friends-to-boyfriends-to-husbands throughout the whole book. There are time skips, revenge is dolled out, and an adorable epilogue. However, it was difficult for me to get into the book because I found the writing a tad clunky and dialogue wasn't always properly formatted.

Cody and Grayson were adorable. Honestly, it was nice to read a book like this where fated mates wasn't instalove (at least, not the typical way it is done), where there was courting, and trepidation at first when it came down to figuring out how to navigate from pent-up fighting and dislike to something more. Grayson redeems himself from his frat bro image, and Cody also learns to stop being such a brat at times. I liked that Cody is not the usual type we see as an omega (very short and feminine, though I love those omegas too), but just some skater kid who is almost as tall as Grayson. While there was no switching in their sex, they were definitely very equal as partners. Even with Grayson's 'protect my omega' instincts.

The book is slice-of-life in where you learn about family members and friends, get a glimpse into the big group project for his school year, and even going to a robotics convention. It is not just about Grayson and Cody, its about their world around them and the bonds they have. I found that very sweet. There is tension and a little bit of twingey angst, but overall it was low-angst without being too sweet. The side characters were also amazing - I want to read Sam and Jamison's book, I want to learn more about Aarav and Dre, basically everyone mentioned. So good!

I definitely recommend this read.

3.5 stars. This was so fun. A lighter omegaverse with fated mates in a college setting. The characters were all sharp and interesting, with distinct voices. Appreciated how the “A-moms” and “O-dads” were characterized as well. Cody, to use one of his own words, was completely adorkable as a klutz who talks a mile a minute and has a wicked sweet tooth. Gray’s stoic courtship of him and his own frat boy redemption arc made me totally smitten too. There was lots of humor and silliness balanced by heavier themes (off page/past SA, namely) and the opposites attract vibe paired with grabs gestures made the relationship feel satisfyingly hard won.

Cody Collier is working toward an engineering degree. He is pretending to be a Beta, but he is actually an omega and his medication to disguise that is failing. He is taking more than the normal dose, yet he still feels the hormones changing and can lightly scent the change on his skin. He feels nauseous and has a headache. Even worse, Grayson Hart was in his first class on his first day! His best friend, Aarav Shah, arrived for breakfast and a ride to campus. Aarav was an Alpha and always there for Cody just as Cody was always there for him. And as they got in the car, Aarav commented on his scent; not strongly different, but Aarav knew him so well that he could tell.

Cody sat next to his enemy, Grayson Hart, PK University star baseball player and ALPHA fraternity boy, and shoved at his books in class. They have always annoyed each other since high school. As each moved the books in position to irritate the other, Cody ended up toppling his chair and falling on the floor. Grayson seemed to be scenting him and moved away.

When the ALPHA frat and the Engineering Club both came in to use the Rec room, Cody and Grayson got into an argument again. The scent tickling Grayson’s nose was stronger now. He scented an Omega but couldn’t identify the person. He picked out a cute little Omega dressed in pink. She wasn’t his Mystery Omega, but she would be okay for tonight. But he and Clara just talked. She was impressed with him, being such a good listener and not after one thing. But it was the Mystery Omega scent he thought of and it didn’t feel right to be with Clara that way. He also thought of Collier and his anger but also he scented his fear – what was that about?

For the rest of the semester to complete their class project, Grayson, DeAndre, Aarav and Collier were assigned to the same work group, and all groaned loud and long. Grayson hoped he would be able to get closer to finding his Omega. He already knew he was one of the Engineering students. As Cody took charge and assigned the parts each would work on, he and Grayson got into another tiff. Nose to nose with Grayson, he saw the Alpha’s lips part slightly. Was he going to make a rude comment, or was that arousal? And suddenly Cody got dizzy, pain shot through his eye as the room tilted. He opened his eyes to see Grayson only an inch from his face, a worried look, as he called “Cody” by first name. Pain shot through him again and Grayson held him as Cody thought “Alpha, Mate, Mine!” He refused to go to medical and this time, Aarav told him he needed to make a decision because he was not “fine” and he needed to stop that medication. Would Cody listen to him? Grayson was already getting closer to finding the truth out, finding himself thinking more and more about Cody Collier. And Cody’s reaction to the medication was getting worse and worse as he swallowed more painkillers. When Grayson starts to desire Cody, will he force him to tell his secrets and face up to his past that made him want nothing to do with Alphas?

This was such an enjoyable book, with a cast of characters the reader will love. Cody is a light-hearted, snarky nerd Omega who doesn’t realize how he really feels about Grayson, a strong, loving, big-hearted Alpha who is awesome with kids. The two of them, despite the irritation at each other’s antics, are perfect together. But Cody keeps fighting it. Even the secondary characters will steal your heart. Grab your copy and let the story build and pull you in.

this is a sweet, sweet book. I loved Grayson's personality, who is the kind of boyfriend we'd all like (super nice, very patient, doesn't get angry and offers chocolate!). He's not (too) jealous or bossy. Cody's character is also well written, a super cute and awkward omega, snarky but vulnerable.
It's a romance like a marshmallow, there's no angst but a lot of candies, baby fever, nosy but adorable families, wedding and MPREG.
For those looking for depth and introspection, this isn't it, but it's perfect as a fluffy romance book (to the point of feeling lonely as you close the book 😭).

Too bad, I find that there's not enough emphasis on Cody's feelings after his sexual assault (just a little fuzzy fear), nor on the fact of being pregnant at 19, but this lightness represents the book well :) however it brings a little frustration, as we don't quite understand why Cody hides fervently the fact of being an omega and finally he's not so scared nor stressed when others discover it?

On the other hand, if this was supposed to be an enemies-to-lovers, it's a complete miss. The characters had been actively hating on each other for years, then suddenly Grayson is obsessed with Cody's scent and one box of chocolate later he accepts a date? I agree that chocolate can do a lot, but not that much. However, even if it is a chou-à-la-crème book, it works well here for a romance full of cuteness (although admittedly corny).

TW : Mentions of a past instance of drugging and attempted rape - this is a stand alone.

Wowza! Never judge a book by its cover!

I'd be lying if I said I was expecting this to be good, I have read a lot of Omegaverse and 50% of the time they're rushed novellas with more interests in quickly getting to f*cking rather than fully introducing the plot so I was absolutely blown away by the humor and relationship between Grayson & Cody.

Grayson is our Jocky Alpha, a frat boy silent type who has no trouble making omegas swoon, his only issue? Cody, a beta with a snarky over the top attitude who does not hesitate at starting an argument. *Cough* Not like Grayson hesitates either. *Cough* With our romantic leads having gone at each others throats for 5 years, I was extremely surprised by how smoothly it went into the romance department, the added bits of humor and characters acknowledging each other despite their supposed dislike really helped build up the tension.

This book absolutely started taking my heart after Grayson The way the story continued through made me smile like a dope and I really can't wait to read more from Ava! I read this in a day because I enjoyed it that much and I really do recommend it!

I dont know if this is the beginning of a series or not but it should be there are so many interesting characters in this book its not just about Cody and Grey its about there family and friends too.

Cody Collier is and Beta with a secret hes not really what he seems something awful happened when he was 15 and it changed him forever it still effects him that change made him decide to hide his Omega status and pretend to be a Beta with the help of medication whitch is failing him now and thats a big deal his enemy Greyson Hart and everyone else could find out.

Grey hot Alpha on campus headed to the pros in baseball after graduation he just has to get threw the last year of school and deal with the frustrating Beta Cody where did it all go wrong 6yrs ago he ran into the cutest Beta in Highschool and then he opened his mouth its been all out war ever since but something is different about Cody he smells different. Now I know Cody's secret and that he's my mate I just need to convince Cody to give me a chance. Can once enemies find romance and love. This was supper sexy read with humor and allot of word building as the story continued till the end. I especially liked the epilogue and how a certain someone got what they deserved.

I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.

This book is fan-flipping-tastic and I loved it! A great story full of laughs, sass, love, steam and finding your mate in the person you least expect to, it's a definite must read! Cody is an omega who has been hiding as a beta since an incident with an alpha left him scared. He and Grayson Hart have spent five years bickering with each other in a feud that started over a misunderstanding. And Cody's issue with alphas. The medicine Cody is taking to hide as a beta is starting to fail, though, and it is at one of these times that Grayson catches the change. And he realizes that Cody is his mate. He will do whatever it takes to make amends to Cody and woo him with all he has. Grayson will finally convince Cody to give him a chance and things start out really well. Cody will finally tell Grayson why he was hiding the fact that he's an omega and it will lead to wonderful things for them both, including an unexpected pregnancy. When Grayson learns the identity of the alpha who harmed Cody, he will get his revenge. The two will get to have their happy ending though and it will bring them everything they want.

Enemies to Lovers at it's Finest!!

OMG...this story was soooooo freaking good. Enemies to Lovers at it's Finest!! If you want to have fun while reading, this is the book for you. If you love cute, snarky and very dramatic omegas..this is the book for you...If you love the cool, silent and protective alphas...again this is the book for you. These characters in this omegaverse were great and Ava is a great story teller. Cody and Gray and their hate to love relationship was so entertaining to read from beginning to end. All that fighting/arguing, wooing. courting, mating and sexual heat, it was hard for me to put this book down. I love the family and friends support the guys had. Ava touched on sensitive subjects and it was so nice to read the support that was there for Cody...he could finally be himself. There were some bittersweet moments but you got back to feeling good in no time. The guys had a VERY wonderful HEA and there are other characters I would love to see get their HEA...hint hint Killian/Killer...LOL

I think the beginning was the best part!
I personally did not enjoy the frat boy kinda way of talking, people saying "bruh" after every sentence, and such. The characters felt so immature (okay they were 22 I think) but then they went on to have babies, get married, and mated for life.

I'm a bit on the fence about Cody, as he sometimes is simply hilarious, but I only found him funny 50% of the time, the rest was too much for me, lol. I think the romance went from hostility to love-of-my-life too fast, but then again, it is a short book so what did I expect?
Gray was a very shallow character, but then they all kinda were.

Also, this was too happy and drama free for my taste. Again, it's a shorter book so I won't complain that it did not take the time to have characters pine and agonize over each other longer. But I do think they got everything they wanted, and more, way too easy and fast. That's just a personal preference though, I like seeing characters suffer for a while and the happy endings being hard won.
As such, this book is forgettable and inconsequential, and won't keep me up at night, but it was a decent read.

En cuanto al PLOT i really didnt see it coming, o al menos en el primer cuarto del libro, like i knew something happened to Cody pero no creí que el responsable estuviera tan CERCA like i was shocked. Y bien merecida la paliza me hubiera gustado una humillacion más publica pero al final se le da su merecido.

Relamente fue buena historia, me entretuvo full y si se sintió quimica entre los personajes
por eso 5 estrellas.

Sometimes, everything is not always what it seems. Cody did everything he could to hide his Omega nature, masquerading as a Beta. His Alpha Mom, tolerated his shenanigans hoping he will find his way. The relationship between Cody and his Mom is delightful. Cody's personality is absolutely a delight. Grayson is the best! It takes a real man to wear a tiara and boa to make a little girl, Kiara happy. Cody is a year younger than Grayson but advance courses equaled them out. Grayson was instantly struck when he first saw Cody, then their attitudinal rivalry started. Cody was an engineering major and official nerd. Then Grayson caught a whiff of something absolutely hot. It took him awhile to find the scent source. Can Cody relax and let Grayson in? Can Grayson open up to Cody? These guys are absolutely funny. Their back and forth with each other and friends and family keep your mind frosty. Will they slow down to become friends? Amazing story. Ms Beringer exceeds literary expectations! Well done! Another adorable Mpreg read from Ava!

Cody Collier had been taking medication to hide the fact he's an omega. The meds aren't working as well as they used to. His scent is now more noticeable. Grayson knows his secret, but can he trust him? Of all people, his enemy is a jock and a royal pain. These two weren't exactly gracious friends. More like frenemies.

All of a sudden, Grayson wants him in every way imaginable.

Grayson Hart is the alpha that has it all. A frat boy, all star athlete, popularity, and the envy of many. Of course, he holds the disdain of a certain omega. Too bad that omega is his mate. He picks up the scent of Cody and immediately needs to court him (and protect what's his).

Can Cody and Grayons make it for the sake of their live, commitment, and growing family Can Cody learn to trust himself and his alpha?

Cody and Grayson are the cutest young couple. What is an omega without a lot of sass.

3.75 For a MPreg story, it was quite good. So much social commentary on our society (which of course, is typical in MPreg stories, where the same female/male social problems are reflected in Omegaverse MPreg society). Honestly while I don't mind it, I do wonder why authors take this trope to write these stories? are they easier to accept in Omegaverse or just that it doesn't sell in F/M romance? I'm seeing some mainstream romance that covers similar topics? So, the problem I have with doing this is that one of the major appeals of reading MM is the more evenness of power dynamic between couples that are completely obliterated by Omegaverse setting.

Anyway, Rant over. This story was hella sweet once the wooing began. I liked these two together a lot. I found Cody to be hard to take in general... but maybe worst at the end, where I wonder why they all put up with him.

The storyline runs post wedding and baby. I would have been happy with skipping all of that. So the book ran long for me. But I get that for some reading MPreg, they really want that. So, it works for everyone who's looking for it.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I loved this story. It was so realistic. Cody had experienced trauma when he was 15 and tried a new drug to hide his true status. When the medication starts to fail him, Grayson scents him and recognizes him as his mate. Grayson has his work cut out to court Cody as they had been fighting for years. The courtship at times is comical. Grayson finally gets Cody's trust and their relationship builds quickly. Cody goes off the medication slowly to protect his health and Grayson supports him. The nicest part is when Grayson deals with the one who caused Cody's trauma and even better when the culprit is finally legally punished for his crimes. I loved the interactions between Cody and Grayson. They were at times quite snarky. Grayson and Cody are very happy in their lives and still have a few interesting events that happen to them to spice things up.

Grayson Hart and Cody Collier argue whenever they meet then Grayson catches the whiff of an omega.
Cody Collier is a college student who is an omega disguising himself as a beta and his cousin Aarav protects and helps him keep up the deception. He has an ongoing feud with Alpha Grayson Hart leading to them arguing whenever they meet. Then Grayson catches the whiff of an elusive omega scent that he is unable to forget so he tries to track down the owner. When he finds this difficult he talks to his father who suggests that he is the only smelling the scent as it is that of his mate. He worries more about it but is shocked when he accidentally realizes that the scent belongs to Cody who he thought was a beta and hated his guts. His father suggest he need to alter that situation before he tries to court him.

Enemies to Lovers! This is one of my favorite type of tropes to read. Cody is too funny and I adored his way of sneaking in lines from some of my favorite movies and even Fresh Prince! He can also be very confrontational with any alpha that crosses his path that isn't his BFF Shah. Gray is a serious guy and Alpha. He can be intense and come across as a huge jerk but he is really a sweet guy underneath it all. We find out why Cody has changed his designation, uses humor and sarcasm as defense mechaniss. When Gray finds out what designation he really is and starts turning away from fights and courting Cody instead, all the real fun starts! During the courting so much is revealed about both young men that you get why they fought for five years. It was a good read that had a good storyline behind the MC's that kept you interested.
I loved finding out I was right about what happened and who was involved.

This was really fun! Normally, a book like this would go in my 3 stars, fun and fluffy shelf. But there was something just a bit extra about this one. Low angst but still tackling some heavy issues (off page SA, MC hiding his sexuality). Clever character development, with brilliantly written secondary characters who added depth and interest without stealing the show. (Can we please get a midwife Sam book? Please?) And a lot of well written scenes where you get to watch Sam and Cody being adorable and good for each other, not just told that they are.

Overall definitely would recommend this if the tropes are your thing, and I’d consider this a great “gateway” book if you’re curious about reading something set in the omegaverse.
