Two weeks on the road with my boss? Business as usual. Two weeks on the road with my newer, hotter boss that I had a one-night stand with four years ago? A disaster waiting to happen.
It was a one-time thing with a man I knew from work. His name was Oliver Black. The rich and handsome manager of the Botsford Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas. Dark hair. Icy blue eyes. A cocky smirk with dimples deep enough to trip on.
No one has to know, he said. And no one did know... except maybe the guests trying to sleep in the suite next door.
I didn't know he'd eventually get promoted to my department. I definitely didn't know my boss would assign me to travel the country with him to keep his raging ego in check. Two weeks. Five locations. A whole lot of hotel rooms in-between.
This trip will either solidify our business relationship as totally platonic friends and nothing more, or destroy my career. But we already know the answer to that question, don't we?
I'm screwed. Literally.
Ego Trip is a stand-alone romantic comedy with a cocky boss, his cheeky by-the-books assistant, and enough steam to melt your Kindle! One-click your copy to find out why romance lovers can’t get enough of Tabatha Kiss and her delicious heroes!
USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Tabatha Kiss is from Chicago, Illinois.
You can probably catch her huddled up in a hoodie, reading a good romance beneath a tree with her trusty husky by her side. She enjoys roller derby, sushi, and is always searching for her forever bad boy.
So, confession time. When I started reading this, I thought I was in for a steamy, easy, palate cleanser of a read. I’ve only read one other book by this author, and it was a sexy good time - but didn't leave me wanting more. Well, then I started reading this one... and found myself up past 3 in the morning, wondering just how late I could stay up and still function at work. I LOVED it. So much bantery goodness, so much chemistry, and all of these little lines that had me cracking up. It got better with every chapter, building on the initial "predictable" rom com feel and taking things up a notch. And it was SEXY. Let's call this one a hot slow burn, because the tension between these two was palpable.
The story follows Paige and Oliver, two people who work in different departments of the same chain of hotels. They ran into each other at the hotel bar one night, and found themselves sharing one steamy evening together. It was never really a problem, because they don't work together on a regular basis... that is, until a promotion sends Oliver right into Paige's orbit. Though it's been four years since their night together, all of those memories come rushing back to the surface when they go on a two-week business trip. And while it's easy to say that they can keep things professional, actually following through on that becomes next to impossible once they get to know each other better.
I loved the playfulness of this, and the fact that these two don't just immediately jump back into bed together. There's all kinds of delicious tension, and the build in intimacy makes the payoff that much better. It's steamy, fun, low angst, and just what I like in my rom coms. There was one steamy scene that wasn't to my personal taste, but it lasted all of two pages and that's really the only thing I didn't love about the book. It was excellent from start to finish, and the snap of tension was a thing of beauty. There's one scene where I went from having all of the warm and fuzzy feelings to taking in a shocked breath along with one of these characters. I was 100% invested in this relationship from start to finish, and I loved its hidden depth. I'll definitely be checking out more from this author now - this was fantastic. I received an early copy via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review of this workplace romance.
Why, oh why have I waited this long to read a book by Tabatha Kiss? I’m definitely going to be checking out some more books by this author but in the meantime, I’ll write my two cents on Ego Trip.
Four years back, Paige and Oliver end up having a one night stand. This was not the brightest idea considering they work for the same company and it goes against the companies policy. After this, Paige ghosts Oliver and they don’t communicate for a while.
Fast forward to the present, Paige and Oliver are assignment on a trip where they will have to be in each other’s shadows for two weeks. Oliver is okay with this, but Paige seems to be completely against the idea, knowing that they should not be getting involved with one another.
Will Paige and Oliver allow their old feelings for one another to re-surface? Will they go against company policies? Will they allow their personal situations to get in the way of their professional life?
I really enjoyed how light hearted this book was. Paige and Oliver’s characters definitely allowed for some funny “scenes” here and there — which makes sense considering this book is labelled as a “Cocky Boss Romantic Comedy”.
One thing that was a little misleading about this book is the way Oliver’s character is portrayed in the synopsis. I imagined him to be an arrogant associate who has an ego so high that he believes everyone is inferior to him blah blah blah. However, in actuality he is a really generous and caring man, who knows what he is looking for/wants.
If you are like me and enjoy the office romance trope as well, then I would definitely check out Ego Trip for an easy read! x
Other reviewers found it enjoyable, apparently. Switching back and forth between now and the past is always an annoyance to me. This is chock-full of that. Add in the fact that I am now beyond the half-way point, and the fact that these two single adults, alone for two weeks in hotels, both with evidently strong feelings for each other...yet...nothing. Zilch. Zero. An occasional feeling, or thought or memory. Then, back to zilch. For me, this is a hard no. Not a book I could finish, and would not be quick to recommend in you’re looking for romance. But, apparently, that’s just me.
For the past 5-years, Paige has been the assistant to a luxury hotel corporation’s Company Liaison. Paige has traveled the world visiting each of the company’s hotels—it’s a dream come true. Until her boss, Graham, takes over his father’s position as CEO and no longer needs to travel, nixing Paige’s traveling too. That is, until it’s audit season and Graham lends Paige as an assistant to the new Company Liaison, Oliver, who worked up the ranks of the company.
So now Paige will be going on a 2-week trip with Oliver around the US, spending a whole lot of time together. The only problem? 4-years ago when Paige visited the hotel that Oliver managed—back when he wasn’t her superior—the two of them had a sultry one night stand together. Paige hopes that Oliver has left their romp in the sheets behind them. But unlucky—or extremely lucky—for her, he hasn’t forgotten a thing and is more than ready to take advantage of every second they have together...
Ego Trip by Tabatha Kiss is a funny, sweet and sexy office/workplace romance. This was my first book by this author and I’m so glad I picked it up per a friend’s recommendation! I loved the banter between Paige & Oliver and their chemistry was fire, too. I also enjoyed the brief flashback chapters that gave us insight into their first encounter. For me, to make a second chance type romance work, you need some backstory or chapters that take place in the past for me to understand their already established connection. This one worked for me in so many ways and I look forward to reading more by Tabatha in the future! 4.5/5 stars.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by the author)...
4.5 stars
Spin-Off from the Heartthrob Hotel series featuring Oliver and Paige, Graham’s assistant.
I love visiting the Botsford crew and I was not disappointed with this book. I loved every second of this book from beginning to end, but if I’m being honest although Oliver was totally swoon worthy, I totally loved Paige more.
Paige really did try to keep things professional, I guess Oliver did too, but he did not put in as much effort to be honest. I enjoyed their adventures together and how their connection only seemed to get stronger. Ian is smelly turdburger and I wished he’d get more punishment because he just the worst. I wonder if they will ever get rid of Ian and his father?
I didn’t want this book to end because Oliver is definitely book boyfriend goals, the man reads a book for his woman enough said! I’m sad to see this series end, but I loved every second of it.
I loved seeing all of my favorite people from the Sweet Cravings series!
The Heartthrob Hotel is back! This book has everything I love best about the author’s work: it’s sweet and spicy, angsty and just so funny. I was quickly sucked into Paige and Oliver’s world and I really didn’t want to come out of it at the end. These two are so busy protecting themselves from future pain that they quite often inadvertently hurt one another. I lost track of the number of times I wanted to reach into the book and hug them both. Then out would come the snappy banter and I was off laughing again. I loved this opportunity to come back to the Bostfords and I hate that it’s over already. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.
At a low point in her life even though she knew it wasn’t the best idea Paige couldn’t deny herself the opportunity of spending one steamy evening with Oliver who happened to work at the same company. A few years later that decision has come back to haunt her as not only is he her new boss but they are about to embark on a business trip which is going to test her will power in a way she never imagined.
One night was not enough for Oliver but he respected her wishes. Now that destiny has brought them together this will either be their second chance or cause turmoil in their working relationship that they may never recover from.
Witty banter, hot chemistry and two people who are perfect match both personally and professionally.
This was a great story by Tabatha Kiss. It was well written and I was so into the story that I read it in one session. Paige had a one night stand a few years ago with Oliver and flash forward to Oliver becoming her new boss. To make the situation even more awkward, Paige is sent on a two - week trip with Oliver. There is still some powerful chemistry between Paige and Oliver even after all this time. I definitely recommend this amazing book! 5 stars.
I loved it! This is Heartthrob hotel series spinoff Oliver and Paige’s story. Paige and and Oliver had has shared one night together 4 years ago and now that Oliver is her boss and she’s his assistant for them business trip can they fight the feelings they have towards each other? Steamy romantic read. Uhh and favourite book part, and book references, those were one of favourite moments! **ARC copy***
Four years prior Paige and Oliver slept together but now he is her boss and they are forced to go travel together for two weeks auditing hotels. At first, Paige ignores Oliver but when that doesn't work the two of them decide to start a friendship, even reading each other's favorite books. The attraction is very much still there and they can't help but act on it but now things are more complicated than ever. I loved Paige and Oliver both separately as characters and as a couple. Paige was smart and sassy and Oliver was sexy and a bit egotistical at first. Together they just seemed to balance each other out and both grew a lot during the book.
This book is everything that I expect from a Tabatha Kiss book!!
I've been waiting for Oliver's turn as the center of the story. I am so happy this hit my kindle the other day!!
Always happy when we start our story in Las Vegas. Especially when it involves the Botsford Plaza and the Botsfords. We start at that point in Graham's story where he has re-wed his ex-wife. And drops it on Paige that Jen (his ex-wife/wife) will be joining them on their travels. She's happy for him, but she just got dumped. She hits the bar for a drink and finds some unexpected distraction from an unexpected source. Carpe diem!
Four years later, Oliver has been promoted to Graham's former job as Company Liaison and he's about to make his inaugural audit trip, but Graham has assigned him a travel companion. Paige, who has treated him in a stand-offish manner ever since ghosting him after their torrid moment (Carpe diem). Well, much more than a 'moment'.
There is still chemistry, but Paige is determined to keep this professional. Oliver is determined to crack her shell. Both of them discover so much more on their travels.
1.) Chemistry 2.) Glimpses of the rest of the Tabiverse (Yay! Vincent & Evey!) 3.) Botsford Plaza (quite a few of them actually!) 4.) Heat! Heat! Heat! 5.) Botsfords! Even the sleazy ones. 6.) Drama from someone with questionable morals. 7.) Men who realize their ladies are more than capable. (Daddy Botsford is a swoony silver fox!) 8.) I freaking loved Oliver! 9.) And pairing him with Paige!! Perfect!! I wanted both of their HEAs and this was the perfect way to give it to me!! 10.) Oh, and some Melanie Rose!!!
Okay; so I should say that despite the spider web of connections between the books in the Tabiverse; I think you can enjoy Oliver and Paige without having read more, but you will certainly want to extend your exploration of the Tabiverse after finishing. This bookiverse has been like a bag of Lay's chips, you can't read just one. Part of the fun in reading Tabatha's books is finding the Easter eggs!
This was a fantabulous start to my new year!!
I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This book reinforces exactly what I love about a Tabatha Kiss story. This was funny and emotional with sizzling chemistry between the characters, and so much epic banter. I was smiling the entire time. If you've read the Heartthrob Hotel series then you've met the Botstford Boys and have gotten a brief intro to both Oliver and Paige. But no worries if you haven't, because this story can be read as a total standalone.
Oliver is settling into his new Corporate Liaison role and Paige, as Graham's right hand for years, is sent to assist Oliver during his first trip of hotel audits. The spark from their one-night stand four years before reignites and creates tons of tension between them. They try to keep things professional, but the chemistry is undeniable and leads to some super sizzling scenes between these two. But the story isn't all heat and tension, there's also romance and emotion with a tiny touch of angst. Just enough to keep you turning the page without feeling too heavy. And when a surprise twist happens nearing the end, I couldn't turn the page fast enough to see how things would finally play out.
There are tons of character reappearances from other series including Hearthrob Hotel and Muffin Top. And if you've read Chicago Nights, you'll smile with the Melanie and Robbie passages. The writing is textbook Tabatha. So much so, I normally dislike reading stories with flashbacks but here, the author even manages to find a way to sprinkle in some humor with the lead-in to those chapters and had me smiling rather than growling.
This is another great story from an author who has mad skills. And if you haven't read the Hearthrob Hotel series, pick that one up and get to know the Botsford family.
Sit back with your favorite drink and delve right into this amazing read with Oliver and Paige....you won’t be disappointed. A spin off from the Heartthrob Hotel series but with characters we have been introduced to in the past books. Paige is Graham’s assistant, loyal and dedicated to a fault and had one night with Oliver Black, another employee but also an honorary member of the Botsford family. They are partnered together to do an audit of the hotels across the country, and even though it’s been four years since their tryst, the memory lingers on. Now they will be together for over a week, travelling and working together....will there be a repeat. I loved this read and once again the author is spot on with the descriptions that make you feel like you are right there, banter that has you looking up from reading to confirm that the characters are not live right there in front of you and characters that you can’t help but fall for right away. There’s steam...oh boy is there steam....little to no drama....past references to characters in another series that wraps the story up nicely and the flow of the read that doesn’t skip a beat. I LOVED what happens near the end, no drama and no fighting what these two have built and the sacrifices each was willing to take and the no mention of others while apart on Oliver’s side. And to top it all off, the extra epilogue that made me smile from ear to ear....loved it so much I bought a copy.
I’m excited that we were back to the Botsford Plaza where it all began. The Botsford brothers Kingston and Fiona all make guest appearances throughout the book. This time around it’s Oliver (Oli) Black Plaza Hotel manger and Paige Landon (Graham’s assistant) you have the staring roles. These two had a one night stand 4 years prior. Then they are thrown together for business trip to audit all The Botsford Plaza Hotels as Oliver is the Company’s new Liaison and Graham is the new CEO with a wife and new baby (sleepless nights). Paige is to accompany Oliver on this trip as his assistant as per Graham instructions. The heat gets turned up the more these two are in each other company. Each pasting day the intensity sexual tension is trying to reach its peak between the two until the moment neither could deny it anymore. Company policy is no fraternizing between the employees moral code of conduct. Drama, misunderstanding, company policy and so much more. If you loved the previous books you’ll going to love this one too. This book storyline captivates you from the beginning until the end, if your looking for a book that intrigues your mind and you can't put it down, then this is the one for you. Grab your copy today and start reading. Definitely won’t be disappointed. Enjoy happy reading 📚 "I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book."
What a way to start the new year with this sweet and spicy and filled with travels and a secret naughty affair. 😍😍😍 Paige is the assistant to the Liason turned now CEO of Botsford International. Unexpectedly she's to go as the assistant to the now new Company Liason. An opportunity to travel places and do your work at the same time would seem to be an amazing chance but unfortunately for Paige the new company liason is her one night stand from the past. How is she supposed to resist what is unfinished business in the first place. Oh my... I had oh so much fun reading this one. Tabatha's stories will definitely make you feel like when you have an irresistible confectionery. Yesssss. So much of tension.. Uh-huh.. The best kind 😉. Also, OMG RICHARD AND MELISSA ARE MENTIONED. I FREAKING ABSOLUTELY LOVE RICHARD. That moment in Paige and Oliver's story just had me sobbing happily. Then we also get to meet other characters from tabiverse. Vincent and every and tommy; the whole Botsford clan. I felt like reading this was like having a blast. This book just will make you cry, laugh, Happy, sad and fall in love with Paige and Oliver. And for me also all over again with Richard but yeah right Oliver is at the frontier for my favorite guy. Dayummmmm..... What a book.. Freaking loved loved this one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was another amazing book and I was so happy to see Oliver and Paige get their own story. These two shared one night together over four years ago and now find themselves travelling together for a company audit on behalf of the Botsford Plaza, a famous hotel chain. They try to keep things professional, but their feelings become too strong to contain and this is where things get hot and steamy.
There is an interesting turn of events towards the end that kept things entertaining and I thought that they both had a sad backstory but in their own way, overcame their circumstances to better their lives. I was thrilled to see some secondary characters from prior stories make an appearance. It's always fun to get a glimpse into what are they now up to now. The reading of a book within a story had me smiling and I love how this gave them a deeper connection. This was a great read from start to finish, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I received an ARC of this story and this is my honest review.
Sizzling Romance and Glimpse into Hotel Operations!!
Paige is assistance to the CEO whose prior role was Company Liaison. The role of the Liaison is to conduct audits quarterly at the various locations. This in itself is an interesting revelation. The real problem is the new Company Liaison is Oliver, who Paige has one delightful night with 4 years ago. What will happen when they travel together for two weeks?
You get under the skin and into the minds of these characters. Both excel at what they do, to the detriment of their personal lives. So being in close quarters with the most memorable person is a very real distraction.
I adored these characters, understood their dilemma, and hoped that they would break down each other’s walls and find happiness with each other – but there is a lot in their way!!
Pure entertainment to be found in these pages.

I. LOVED. This. Book. It’s MAGICAL! I can't put into words what this book means to me. Aside from meeting the Botsford family again, meeting Vincent and Evey again .... I love the Heartthrob Hotel series so much, it's one of my all-time favorite series, and to dive back into it with this book is fantastic. I was so curious about Oliver's story, and it exceeded any expectations I had. He's such a great guy, inside and out, hiding so much of his personality behind his introverted and closed off facade. And Paige is just as great a character as he is. I loved them both so much, their banter, their arguments, all their interactions, professional and personal. They just fit together so perfectly. They made me laugh out loud, swoon, hold my breath and everything in between.
Gahh, I don't want to let go of these fantastic characters and the Botsford universe. Isn't there a way to continue this series with more stories?
Paige is clever, efficient, resourceful and professional to a fault. I enjoyed her struggles to put her one and only workplace transgression – her one-night stand with Oliver – into the past and to try to keep it there. Particularly hard to do since Oliver keeps bringing it up! The friendship they eventually formed as co-workers was genuine, sweet, and full of laughter but also riddled with relentless temptation. The getting-to-know-you phase was particularly entertaining!
This is a fun, flirty and sexy workplace romantic comedy. It’s very entertaining, well written, with engaging characters, plenty of humour, some laugh-out-loud moments, witty quips, some drama, angst, dirty talk and steamy, explicit sex.

Oliver is the new Company Liaison doing the first-quarter audit of five Plaza Hotels. He is to be accompanied by Paige, assistant of the former Company Liaison and now CEO, Graham Botsford. Oliver wanted to do it alone as he claims he does not need an assistant, but this is his first audit and Paige is experienced in doing audits and efficient in her job. How will this work when something happened between them four years prior after which, Paige just disappeared on him? Will something be rekindled in this trip? Will that be even possible considering Oliver is the boss and Paige is his subordinate? I love this story. It is light, funny in most parts and just over-all, a feel good story. The characters are wonderful. I like how it was written, well-paced with flashbacks in between to make the story more interesting and intriguing. I truly enjoyed reading this. Well done! There is nothing, NOTHING, that Tabatha has written that I haven't fell in love with.
It was so much fun to get back to the Botsford world with characters from the Tabiverse included.
Paige and Oliver has a one night stand four years ago right after Paige was dumped and was sitting in the Botsford Hotel bar drowning her sorrows. One fantastic night of the hottest romp of her life and now Paige is sidled with accompanying Oliver, the new Company Liaison, with audits of other Botsford Hotels. Holy cow, how is Paige going to get thru this trip when she is thinking of nothing but that night with Oliver. Oliver is having a hard time himself as he keeps thinking of nothing but that hot night and now needs to know why Paige ghosted him.
Thing are going to heat up in a big way on this trip. This book was so, so good and I binged it so hard like I do every book Tabby writes. A total must read for sure.
If you’ve read any of the Botsford men’s stories in Tabatha Kiss Heartbreak Hotel series (and even if you haven’t), then you must read this story about Paige, Graham’s (Company Liaison) assistant, and Oliver, who gets promoted to Graham’s job, when Graham becomes CEO. I don’t want to give away spoilers but Paige and Oliver have a bit of history and now they’re working together, fighting their attraction.
I love how the Chemistry between Paige and Oliver, the backstory, and how we visit with our old Botsford friends. The ending actually surprised me a bit in a very good way. The author did it again, I can’t wait for the next in the series!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Paige and Oliver worked for the same company but never having jobs that were directly related. They had a one time thing that years later still has an impact on them. Now they are put in a position that he is her new boss. A couple of weeks on the road together would not normally be a problem with a boss. But Oliver and Paige still press each others buttons. Some times it is even in the best of ways. This story has plenty of steam, humor, drama, lust and finally love. The storyline was well written and the characters were great together. I look forward to reading more from Tabitha
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Four years ago Oliver and Paige met in a bar and had a one-night stand together. There was no issue about it, even though they worked for the same hotel chain, because they were in different departments and never crossed each other’s paths. But when Oliver was promoted and became her new boss, things got a bit uncomfortable. They are scheduled for a two-week trip together and the feelings they had put away from before heated up again.
The dialog and banter really set the stage for these two and let the reader feel the closeness growing between them. The story line was fun, the characters wonderful, and the pacing exactly right. Grab your copy and enjoy their story. See how far that road-trip takes them!
I loved this story! The writing flowed well, and I was so happy to be back in the Botsford Hotel world! Oliver and Paige were great together, even though they fight it for part of the book. Paige was a little back and forth on her relationship with Oli, with good reason, but the hot and cold went on for a while. Oliver was a great guy, and I loved that he was willing to read Paige's favorite romance novels. Paige gets points for reading out of her comfort zone as well (I don't like scary books either). I loved all the references Melanie Rose's books from the Rich B**ches series! I saw the drama at the convention coming, I knew Ian wouldn't be able to let anything go. Even though I was hoping it worked out differently, it ended up being for the best. The ending was VERY sweet and perfect for these characters! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
I love books from this author and was so excited to return to the world of Botsford Hotels to get Oliver’s story. Oliver and Paige both work for the Botsford Hotel chain in different areas. One night, they run into each other at a bar and proceed to have a steamy night. Fast forward four years and Oliver has been promoted putting him in front of Paige once again. Making matters more interesting is they have to attend a business trip together for two whole weeks. Will they be able to keep things strictly professional? Overall, this is one entertaining storyline filled with chemistry, witty banter, and drama. You will not be able to get enough of these characters and it will leave you with a large smile on your face! I received a free copy via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
