YOU DON’T WANT NORMAL—YOU WANT EXCITING
I enjoyed the story of Harriett “Hattie” Frederickson and Nelson Childress. They are new neighbors in Texas. She inherited the land from her parents that she was raised on and him from an Uncle. The story will have plenty of mystery, suspense, danger, angst, and then throw in romance, passion, and power exchange.
Hattie has a reputation around town for her attitude and highhanded ways of handling things. She is a bit hotheaded, and it tends to get her into trouble. Her biggest beef right now is with an oil company, who wants to run a pipeline through her property. As the oilmen come snooping around, she isn’t afraid to take them on.
Nelson has recently moved to the land he inherited from his late Uncle. He has a drone and uses it to survey the area and, with it, comes upon Hattie. While his drone gets a bit too close, it causes her to land hard and hurt herself. Rushing to her aid backfires on him because she levels a gun on him and his drone—what a way to meet your new neighbor.
The story will revolve around the trouble with the oil company and Hattie and the newfound relationship building between Hattie and Nelson. This is such a small town that it seems everyone knows each other’s business, and Hattie is the talk of the town. When Nelson goes to the Sheriff about what Hattie did, she wasn’t expecting that, and then to find herself over the Sheriff's knee being spanked again. It doesn’t take long for Nelson to realize that this will be the way he will deal with his little firecracker.
The story is full of Hattie doing her own thing, getting into trouble with both the Sheriff and Nelson. But after the first time Nelson witnesses her spanking by the Sheriff, he clarifies that she will be his responsibility. The chemistry between Nelson and Hattie is nearly instantaneous, and these two can’t get enough of each other. Throw in her propensity for waving a red flag at a charging bull, stirring up a hornet’s nest, and fighting life and death danger keeps the pages turning.
This story could have easily been a five-star review. Still, the realism of both the town Sheriff (male) and the Fire Chief (female) spanking Hattie for her behavior had me rolling my eyes and shaking my head in disbelief and not happening without significant lawsuits. There was no consent, no relationship, and it was inappropriate and unnecessary. The discipline scenes between Nelson and Hattie involves dubious consent and eventually consent, and includes a relationship.
The story includes non-consent and dubious consent in spankings, public humiliation, voyeurism, and explicit sex scenes. The epilogue sets the stage for the next book.

Our heroine is trying to defend her property from the oil company while our hero is new in town and crosses a boundary. Let's just say things get off to a rocky start.
This is a romance story featuring a good bit of domestic discipline. The story is well written and easy to read with a good solid setup and likeable characters. I really like our heroine. She might be a bit headstrong, but she is tough enough to stand up for herself. I also like our hero, who in spite of his poor judgement early on, has the best of intentions and works to make it up. There is a fair amount of heat here as well including quite a few spankings. Which are enjoyable, but frankly I don't think they were deserved in some cases. In particular, I think the sheriff acted inappropriately in many ways and that soured things a bit for me. Overall, an enjoyable story that should have been reined in just a bit.

Hattie Frederickson is tough as nails, because she has had to be. When Nelson Childress trespasses on her property with his drone, she is livid. She takes a shot at him and his four wheeler. He is impressed with her, and horrified at her behavior at the same time. The Sheriff comes out, and threatens to discipline her when she refuses to apologize.
Apache Pass is part of her property, and a big oil company wants it for their pipeline. She is the last holdout. She shoots at two of their employees, and Nelson takes her inside and spanks her. Their relationship builds from there.
While in Houston for a conference, she visits the oil company's headquarters downtown, and confronts the CEO. Nelson and the Sheriff are both angry she put herself in danger again.
When she is threatened and her property in danger, Nelson takes Hattie out of the state to keep her safe. He protects her without making her feel weak. He loves her, and she finally admits she loves him too. By working together, with the Sheriff on board, things will work out.
This story has a happy for now ending, and is a great story. Hattie is a handful, but Nelson is the man to handle her. There is spanking and hot sex. Their love burns bright. I hope to see more of them in the next book, which I am really looking forward to.

This is a wonderful read and I am sure that you will enjoy every moment
This is a great read and I assure you that as soon as you begin reading you will now be able to see how wonderfully written the plot is and the characters are simply amazing and I am sure that you will enjoy every moment of this book.
Harriet has a ranch which I currently raised the interest of an oil pipeline company who want access to her land however, she is not interested in giving up her land or in alliance. When she meets Nelson who has also just inherited a nearby ranch and a relationship quick grows between them.
There comes a point when Nelson put his foot down when he discovers that Harriet has been receiving poison pen letters and not told him he decides to put her over his knee and make his annoyance both known and felt.
This is a great read that I am sure you will enjoy and hope that there will be future books in this series.

I enjoyed everything about this book. It's full of intrigue, mystery, danger, and
romance. It has the right amount of tension, heat, heart, respect, and discipline.
I loved Hattie’s sassy attitude, but her penchant for acting impulsively saw her
over someone's knees regularly. Hattie’s first meeting with her new neighbor
was memorable for all of the wrong reasons. Nelson’s anger soon turned into
lust. Hattie needed a keeper, and Nelson was just the right man for the job.
Hattie was one resilient lady, but she was hesitant to open her heart to any
man. I admired Nelson for the respect he showed with Hattie. Even as he was
disciplining her, he took care not to be too harsh.
This story flowed well and at a steady pace.It was never rushed in anyway.
I enjoyed the humor built into the storyline.

Nelson's drone strays to Harriett's property, causing her to fall and get hurt. When he shows up to help her, she shoots the drone, and then his tire. They're hot and steamy together, and she gets her fair share of spankings. He waltzes in and just steamrolls her, taking over her life. She's the character I love, spunky and sassy, and completely unwilling to take crap from anyone. She doesn't always think about the consequences before she acts, but she's certainly not afraid to make a decision. With Nelson following behind to clean up the mess, and adjust her behind. The first book I read from this author was so-so, but it was the third in a series and I was somewhat lost with the story and characters. But this one was wonderful; I'm so glad that gave the author another chance. The story was engaging, and kept my interest throughout.

This story is fast paced and interesting, and the two main characters are energetic and intelligent. Harriet has a ranch that a pipeline company wants to use so they can build a pipeline, but she doesn’t want to give it up or sell it. She meets Nelson, who has inherited a neighboring ranch, and they quickly develop a passionate relationship. There are a lot of complications and intrigue along the way, some of it involving the nasty people from the oil company, but it works itself out. Their relationship is encouraged by Nelson’s interest in spanking some sense into Harriet, and her willingness to look beyond the spanking to the enjoyable sex that follows. This was a really good story. Plenty of action, humor and romance, intrigue, mystery, danger and romance. You also have to sprinkle in some tension, heat, heart, discipline and respect. Hattie has a really sassy attitude she's also acts out and impulsively and earns her plenty of spanking over peoples knees regularly. Nelson soon finds himself in lust with Hattie and he's just the man to take care of her. Hattie was scared of opening her heart to any man but Nelson shows lots of respect for Hattie but also will discipline her. This was a fun and fast paced read. I liked the plot and the characters and the fast moving feel of the book. There was quite a bit of witty conversations that had me laughing. Lots of heat and discipline too. A few of the plot points were a little hard to believe but this is fiction and I found the book to be such a great escape from everything going on right now. I really think you will enjoy it and I eagerly awaiting the next in the series!

Hattie is doing what she thinks best about her property in a small town. She might be a little hot headed, but Nelson had it coming. What I was surprised about was how many people in her little town felt justified in spanking her, in front of people, and even doing it bare a**ed! I enjoyed this book a lot because of the relationship between Nelson and Hattie. But I could have done without towns people (including the sheriff!) think they can spank her.

Hattie is dealing with nosey town people, an oil company, and a new neighbor Nelson. Nelson meets Hattie under unusual circumstances. There is action and intrigue, gossip, and romance. Can these two people over come the obstacles and get a relationship. This book has, what I think, Blushing Books is known for some spanking good times. This was a great story, and I loved how the characters meet, unique. The story flowed and was hard to put down.

This was such a wonderful love story. I enjoyed it very much. The storyline was spot on and was well executed. You have action, drama and adventure and love all in one book. loved the characters, I enjoyed this book can't wait for the next one. I recommend it.

I've read a few books from this author now and enjoyed them all so I was looking forward at reading book 1 in a new series. There was a lot I really liked in this story. The characters were interesting and the interaction between Nelson and Hattie was great. I loved that she's badass. However, it didn't really work for me that as badass as she is, it seemed like it was common knowledge and spoken about inside and outside of the town that Hattie was spanked by the sheriff. There was never any explanation as to how, when or why this relationship started. It was a jarring point for me.
