Interstellar Brides Program #19

Die Rebellin und ihr Held

Rate this book

Hell bent on revenge, Ivy Birkeland doesn’t care what it takes—even if it means her own life—she will make the peddlers of Quell pay for the deaths of her ReCon unit. Ivy’s gone a bit rogue herself—now that she’s free from the restrictions forced upon her as a member of the Coalition.

But what she didn’t count on was falling for her Rogue 5 contact—Zenos is also on Rogue 5 on a mission, but it’s not to take down the Quell sellers, but to find the antidote for the deadly venom that threatens the Forsian mates.

I loved the fast-paced romance between Ivy and Zenos. Loved their immediate bond—even when it seemed like they were going to kill each other before either managed to finish their tasks! I loved their protectiveness for each other—especially Zenos and his worry about truly mating with Ivy.

The Rebel and the Rogue is yet another excellent addition to the fantastic Interstellar Brides Program series and I cannot wait for more! ~ Missy, 5 stars

VENGENCE—REVENGE—REDEMPTION

As with the other Interstellar Bride book, they read great as a continuing saga, but each book will read well as a stand-alone. The story of an alien, Zenos of the Astra Legion of Rogue 5 and Ivy Birkeland, formerly of Earth and a retired Coalition Luietentant has some differences, some surprises, and as with all of Ms. Grace Goodwin’s stories, plenty of mystery, suspense, and hot off the charts passion.

Ivy is now a bounty hunter, but she is after Gerian Eozara of Cerberus, who, along with his Quell, was responsible for the death of her ReCon team and the ending of her career. The bounty is high; the mission is dangerous but dead or alive, she will bring him in. She doesn’t just want him, but those who make the Quell all need to die. Getting a way onto Rogue 5 will have her meeting with Astra of Astra Legion. She has something they all need and want, an antidote that will help their females survive the mating bite, and allow them to procreate.

“To these aliens, that antidote was life. Mating. Children. Family. It was everything.”

The story will have Ivy on Zenith, and while waiting for her meeting, she will make contact with Zenos and a round of uninhibited sex between these two will have her sexually satisfied. Her meeting with Astra will have surprises and conditions, ones she is willing to acquiesce to if it allows her to complete her mission.

“You are scarred. When I come from, they are a sign of bravery. Of life experienced. Of honor. Only the strongest among us survive with such scars. The most trusted. The bravest. The protectors among us.”

“What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”

The story has mystery, suspense, passion, secrets, and angst. Not everything is as it seems, and things don’t always work out as planned. There is more to Ivy than meets the eye, and while she doesn’t have a death wish, she also doesn’t fear to die. The one thing she hadn’t planned on during this mission was meeting Zenos and caring for him. The chemistry between them sizzles off the pages—but the one thing she asks of him, he will refuse and that puts up a wall for their future.

“I could see Ivy for what she really was. She was contained violence. Lovely death. Primal. Vicious.
Protective. She was here to avenge her Coalition unit, her friends who had died. Not related by blood but by circumstance, by war. She’d gone into Cerberus territory armed with only a blade, blasters and the skill of her body to avenge her friends. To seek the one responsible. My soul cried for her for what she was. Inside. She was a monster like me. A powerful, loyal, merciless monster. The most beautiful thing I’d ever seen.”

The story will also include two who must learn to trust one another completely. For Zenos, he is afraid of harming Ivy, of causing her death, and he isn’t willing to risk her—but will he still lose her? Ivy has completed her mission, and yet she feels she has lost herself, so now what will she do without Zenos? Where will she go? She has no home, no family, and an uncertain future—or does she?

Stop reading reviews and just grab this book and be prepared to be sucked into Rogue 5.

The Interstellar Brides' Atlans are my favorites but boy, does this hybrid Forsian come close to surpassing them. Just a note - if you couldn't tell by the blurb, these are not a matched pair (Rogues so far have been chosen and not matched).

This fascinating universe that the author has built, just gets better and better. To perfectly explain how great this story is would require spoilers and I just can't do that.

So,
Ivy - awesome, butt-kicking, broken, looking for revenge
Zenos - mouthwatering, controlling, terrified his bite will kill
Astra - 1/3 of the "good" rogue leaders and an inspiring character
And a guest appearance from a certain IC commander that really needs to get mated so, that his mate can kick his butt.

A riveting story that revolves around all of the characters different heartaches. As each character has to face their fears and desires, their struggles within cause more heartache. The relationships developed are strong and true.

Overall, this is one of the best books in the series (it is even better than some of the Atlans that I adore, but don't tell them, as I love those giant teddy bears).

To be totally honest - Grace Goodwin is one of a handful of authors that I will drop whatever I am
currently reading (even if it is a promised ARC) so that I can read one of her new releases. Her characters are well fleshed, the world building is fantastic, and the plots just draw you in.

Ivy is an American soldier who has served with the Coalition forces fighting the Hive. But now she's looking for revenge for the death of her crew members killed by the drug Quell. Zenos is a soldier serving Astra, leader of his Rogue 5 state. These two literally meet each other, shake the sheets, and split, not wondering when and or if they'll meet again. But as we all know Ms. Grace don't leave ya hanging for long. These two DO meet back up to serve a dish called whoop ass. But what we don't know is how special Ivy really is underneath her armour. It's quite an unexpected surprise but a great addition to the story, and it's her story to tell, so sit down, grab a blanket, get comfortable bc you won't want to put it down.

Book nineteen of the Interstellar Brides® Program series a well written story that has a very good storyline, the story flowed smoothly across the pages. This is human Ivy Birkeland and Zenos' story of a man in love with a woman but to afraid to trust that a cure has been found and he will not watch her die if he does what she wants. There is suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, villains, and romance. I hope there is more to come in this series. Best first meet between H and h I have read in a while.

"His superpower would be panty destroyer, because mine were ruined."

When I read this line in Chapter 1 I knew this would be a phenomenal read compared to the very disappointing Book 18 (Viken Command) which I gave 1-star. And I was right, so satisfied after a good read. Ms Goodwin is back on track with her Interstellar Bride series and I can put the awful Book 18 behind me.

Here we have a kick ass heroine whom you will fall in love with - loyal to the bone and out to avenge the death of her unit, considered her friends and family. She will do what she set out to do with no apologies. I was cheering her on throughout the book, I want to be her when I grow up.

She meets an alien hero who is a good match. It's science fiction romance, so it's a given you will need your imagination to fill in any blanks. He has some TSTL moments in this book - which comes from underestimating the heroine because she's small, human, weak blah blah blah, and not trusting her when she tells him (not once, not twice but several times !) that she wants his mating bite. He of course can only think his bite might cause her death and refuses to. As I said, there are some TSTL moments but luckily for us readers, he gets wise quickly and like a good superhero goes on to win the day without further ado.

Sex scenes are paced out more normally (than the awful Book 18) and flows with the plot. Don't pick this up if you want a clean read - it is not. There were some LOL moments too with the banter and dialogue between a kick ass heroine and the protective hero - always a good sign with well placed humour along the way.

Highly recommended.

The Interstellar Brides series takes place at a time where aliens are real and there are several different planets and species. There is a galactic enemy known as the hive, which is a technological species that invades planets and either kills its inhabitants or transforms their captives into one of them. A coalition was formed between the planets who are at war with the hive. Each member of the coalition is required to supply soldiers and brides to the cause. Soldiers to fight the hive, and brides to repopulate the diminished that have fallen victim to the war. There is a neurological test that a bride takes to me matched to their perfect alien planet, then their perfect alien match on that planet, through a series of sexual desires that only our subconscious can answer for. Earth allows for volunteers to apply to the program, or grants female criminals the option to become a bride over a prison sentence. Those who volunteer are paid a healthy sum of money, and those who are prisoners are given clean slates. All applicants are required to give up their Earth citizenship to become a resident of their new chosen planet. A bride has 30 days to accept or reject their match. If they accept their claim, they are mated to their new alien husband for the rest of their lives where they are expected to make babies. If they reject their mate, they are assigned a new one on that same planet. Where they are still expected to make babies. Warden Egara makes continued appearances throughout the series as she is the one who processes the brides in the Florida.

Written in first person, The Rebel and the Rogue is book 19 in this series and follows the human bride Ivy Birkeland and her mate Zenos from the moon base Rogue 5. This book takes place outside of the interstellar bride program. I felt like I already read this book before, and that’s because I did, but with different characters. Just like in book 13, Her Rogue Mates, Ivy met Zenos in the exact same bar on transport station Zenith that Harper met Styx and Blade. Styx pulled Harper into the canteen’s hallway to give her a finger induced orgasm and Ivy pulled Zenos into a storage/game room off that same hallway to have a quickie. That’s where the similarities between those two books ended though. Unlike Harper, who was a medical officer for the station and was basically kidnapped by Styx and taken to Rogue 5, Ivy was there to make a deal with Astra, exchanging a much sought after antidote for safe passage onto Rogue 5. Ivy had vengeance to fulfill with the Cerberus Legion, who got her entire military unit killed from a bad batch of Quell. Ivy got her revenge easily because she is a hived-up badass, and she left Cerberus in ruins with a dead leader, fewer members and a blown up Quell lab. And this antidote that Astra is so desperate to get her hands on? Like Makarios in book 6 of the colonies, a lot of the Astra group is made of Hyperion/Forsian mixed bloodlines, including Astra’s long-time love and Zenos. And like Makarios, they can’t bite or claim a mate without killing them. Ivy gave herself the antidote to prove its authenticity and intended to get bitten, but Zenos interfered and refused to allow the chance. The two fought and fucked a lot, reminding me of a couple relationships of my own. 😂 But eventually, Zenos but Ivy and they lived happily ever after on Rogue 5 as part of the Astra legion.

A couple things annoyed me about this book. First, Ivy was willing to be bitten, but adamant that it not be Zenos. Had she simply been on board for the bite to begin with, she could have saved herself a shit ton of trouble and heartache. Zenos was adamant about not biting her, even when the lab confirmed the legitimacy of the antidote, which only pushed Ivy away. I think she forgave him way too easily after he tracked her down. Personally, I think it would have been better written to have him accidentally bite her among the throes of passion than have it be so formally done. Just MHO. 🤷‍♀️

Hyperion/Forsian bloodline is rare. This particular cross breed is as big as their neighboring Atlans. Like Hyperions, they have fangs with venom that make them desperate to bite during mating. Unfortunately, the Forsian bloodline makes their venom poisonous to anyone they bite, ultimately killing their mate. They also have a mating cock that swells inside, locking them inside their female’s vagina.

There have been way too many romance novels I’ve read that had me frustrated and yelling “Jesus Christ, when are they gonna fuck?! Get to the good shit already!” When we’re 50% in, and the main characters have barely kissed each other, leaves readers like me aggravated. This is NOT one of those books. I’m fairly confident that there is more sexual content in this book than adventure. It is, quite literally, word porn.

Spankings take place in every single book. If any man spanked me, I would probably kill them in their sleep, but I guess some women do enjoy them. Spankings are more of a turn-off than turn-on in my case, so I just ignore those parts of the books like “nope, that didn’t just happen.”

As I’ve read through this series and all its spin offs, I can attest that the plot is incredibly addictive. I am way too invested in each book, in all its adventure and romance. Grace Goodwin has ruined me for all other romance novels. After reading her material, I find the others to be tame, dull and overall anticlimactic. The plot running in the background of each book, circling the war against the hive, is addictive. This is one of the few series where the adventure is just as intriguing as the romance scenes. I am not ashamed to admit that I have read each of her books at least twice. This was probably one of my least favorite books. Being bored with the plot and characters and, well, everything. Still recommend the read at least once. 🫶🏻

Even after 20+ books in this series, the stories are still unique, sexy, romantic and full of drama and adventure. Grace Goodwin does a fantastic job of making the characters seem so realistic that you can’t help but immerse yourself into the story and cheer for their happily ever after. The world building is vivid, the danger and violence can be stark and sometimes unsettling, the ultimate love story is beautiful and the whole story is so engaging you can’t put the book down until the end (and then you just can’t wait for the next book!).
Although we read these books for entertainment, Grace Goodwin has the amazing ability to include some interesting, inspirational and important messages:
- It is about the lengths people will go to in order to avenge their love ones - including becoming what they hate most in the universe.
- Scars (internal and external) are nothing to be ashamed of, but badges of courage, strength and the will to live. It makes us all survivors and shapes us into who we are.
- This book also has characters who love so deeply and care so much that they are willing to give up everything just to be with the one they love (so inspirational!).
- It’s also a great example of how someone can find happiness, a home and make their own family in unexpected places.
Rebel and the Rogue is a departure from the previous books in the Interstellar Brides series, but it fits seamlessly into this world. This book is a standalone story, but reading the previous books in the series will greatly enhance your experience. You will recognize quite a few characters from those books and their storylines are extended in some ways by this book.
I just can’t say enough great things about Grace Goodwin’s stories. If you enjoy strong female characters, alpha males, science fiction stories, hot sexy scenes, romance and adventure, you will love her books.
I received this book free from the author for my honest review. Since I rely heavily on reviews to make decisions about purchases, I will never lie or over exaggerate my opinion. There is nothing worse than seeing a bunch of 5 star reviews and realizing the book is full of errors or just plain bad and not worth my hard earned money!

Warning: Book contains Hunky Hybrid Hotness
******
Overall Rating: 👽🔥👽🔥👽🔥👽🔥👽🔥
Kindle unlimited: no
******
What do you get when you combine a badass bounty hunter with a hot as hell hybrid alien? You get paranormal perfection, that’s what!

Grace Goodwin has done it once again! In her 19th installment of the interstellar brides series we meet Ivy and Zenos on Rogue 5. Ivy a badass female who has one thing on her mind...revenge. She has no desire for commitment, she just wants to love ‘em and leave ‘em. Zenos, a bossy, I mean bossy alpha alien hybrid that can never claim a mate because of the poison in his fangs, also never sticks around for much more than a night. So when they meet at a space station they are bound be perfect for each other. They both have an itch that needs scratching, they both avoid commitments, so they should just hit it and quit it right? Wrong!!!!

These two get thrown together after a no names afternoon of debauchery. Though it appears the two of them can only fight or...🦆, you get the picture. Until they don’t.

Our characters have been hurt and have more baggage than imaginable. Both have forgotten what hope is, pain and apathy are all they know. Until they don’t.

These characters are great. Not just Zenos and Ivy, but the secondary characters too. The story is both heartbreaking, Hella hot, and suspenseful. There is character growth, world building, and did I mention it’s Hella hot?

You would think that 19 books into a series they would be getting old and tired...but they aren’t. Ms. Goodwin still keeps it fresh and unique and you will be cheering by the end of the book. Even though this is the 19th book it can be read as a standalone.

Do I recommend? Did you see the 5 hot alien stars above?? YES I RECOMMEND! Will I keep reading? A thousand times YES!!! Don’t delay start this series today!!! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This story brings us some awesome characters in Zenos of the Astra Legion of Rogue 5 and Ivy Birkeland.

Ivy, a human, has walked away from the Coalition Fleet’s regulations to become a bounty hunter seeking revenge against the aliens responsible for the death of her entire ReCon unit. They were provided with Quell, a mind-altering drug distributed by the pirates of Rogue 5, and no one survived. Ivy will not stop until she has seen justice served and the death of her unit avenged. She has no desire for any sort of commitment to a male, but she still makes time for a wildly passionate one-night stand with a stranger to take care of her needs.

Zenos, a hybrid Forsian, is on a mission to obtain a serum, the antidote to make sure a female survives the mating bite from his poisonous fangs. In the same way that the mating instinct affects the Atlans, Zenos knows his own mating instinct will soon control him and he needs to be prepared with the serum. Although he cannot mate until that serum is in his possession, when he meets the kicka$$ bounty hunter, he won't deny his body the one-time experience of a few hours of pleasure she is offering him without commitment.

As always, this author gives us the very best stories, bringing the reader back again and again to read about the various aliens we are so familiar with! The story line is fast-paced and exciting as Zenos and Ivy let their passions overtake them, only to meet each other again unexpectedly at Transport Station Zenith when she attempts to gain access to the “unknown operative’s” home planet. How will their overwhelming attraction impact her plans for revenge? They need each other – can either walk away? Grab your copy and immerse yourself in a fantastic experience you won’t want to miss as the author places us in the amazing universe she has created!

“The Rebel and the Rogue” is Book 19, in the Interstellar Brides series and as the other books in the series is a stand alone. I always look forward to the next book in the series and this one does NOT disappoint. It is nail biting from beginning to end! Grace Goodwin continues to tell a story that is original, well written, phenomenal and as engaging as each book in the series!
In this story we meet the amazing characters of Zenos of the Astra Legion of Rogue 5 and Ivy Birkeland, who has left the Coalition Fleet to become a bounty hunter. Zenos is a hybrid Forsian, he and others like him have poisonous fangs that will kill a female when enduring the mating bite. He is on a mission to obtain a serum which is an antidote to the poison.
Ivy, is a human, who has become a bounty hunter seeking revenge against the aliens responsible for the death of her entire ReCon unit. She is the only survivor and is filled with guilt. Her life has been difficult and her Unit was her family, she believes all she has to live for is revenge. She has no desire for a commitment to a male, all she wants is wild, passionate one-night stand.
Zenos wouldn’t commit because he’s afraid his bite will kill his love - Ivy is all about revenge - then they meet! Of course, you know that the sparks fly, electricity fills the air but they remain true their original course. Now, how is that going to work out? LOL
I loved the character of Astra. She is an amazing leader and assigns Zenos to escort and protect Ivy, as she enters Cerebus’ Territory. Ivy has secrets, Zenos has fears and Grace Goodwin is the amazing story teller who shows us their emotional growth and learning to trust one another.
The story is packed with mystery, HOT, steamy Alpha men, BDSM elements, fast paced, danger and lots of twists and turns. You definitely do NOT know what is going to happen next!

The Rebel and the Rogue (Interstellar Brides Program Book 19)

It’s always a great read when Grace Goodwin’s books take us to Rogue 5. The inhabitants are mixed hybrids that create some interesting combinations. Most os those on Rogue 5 live in “clans”, they may be rogues as they don’t follow coalition rules but most are not necessarily bad (maybe “bad boys”).
This storyline’s main characters are Zenos and Ivy. Zenos is a hybrid Forsian and part of Astra League. His leader Astra has assigned him to retrieve the priceless serum that will allow Forsians to mate. In order to mate the male must. It’s the female and without the serum their bite results in death of the female.
Ivy is a different female character than we have encountered. She is a kick ass warrior who is out for revenge from the group on Rogue 5 selling illegal Quell. This drug her team had taken was tainted and all except Ivy ended up perishing in a fight. She has “modified “ herself to become the ultimate warrior.
Ivy and Zenos have a very hot encounter at a transport station. Turns out they are both their to contact each other as she has the serum and he has a way for her to reach her revenge targets on Rogue 5.

This book grabs you from the beginning and I was hooked start to finish (could seriously not put it down). Rogue 5 and it’s inhabitants are so different (they operate different than any other humanoids we’ve encountered), the character and world building are mesmerizing.

This riveting storyline is a fast paced exciting adventure with some twists and turns. Suspense, Passion, mystery and seriously hot chemistry between Zenos and Ivy,(as only this author can bring to her books).
An awesome addition to Interstellar brides, Rogue 5 series.

I normally like books by this author, however this one just missed the mark for me. Ivy is a bounty hunter seeking vengeance on the ones that supplied the drug to her unit, which got them all killed. She has hardened her heart and her only focus now is ending the lives of those responsible. While her heart is hard her body is warm and a few hours of pleasure by the Forsian, Zenos wont stop her mission.

Zenos both likes and is somewhat put out by his attraction to Ivy. These two are like a match and gasoline and pretty much melt in each other’s arms. Zenos is deathly afraid of accidentally giving into his mating instinct and biting Ivy. Ivy wants what Zenos can offer her physically she doesn’t want the baggage that becoming his mate will bring.

While the story itself isn’t bad the writing style this time just doesn’t work for me and I didn’t connect with the characters like I normally do. Plus Ivy just couldn’t make up her mind if she wanted Zenos to bite her as a mate. One minute she’s taunting him that she doesn’t want him to bite her and the next she’s upset that he wont bite her and make her his, pick a lane already.

There is a missing element to give this the needed sense of urgency to make this story really work. A lot of things that seem important end up feeling a bit anti-climactic after a while and Ivy and Zenos are not a seamless fit.

The Rebel and the Rogue is the nineteenth book in the Interstellar Brides Program series, but reads well as a stand alone. Ivy is on a mission for revenge but can’t get Zenos out of her mind. What started as a one night stand, he’s now her protector on Rogue 5, but while their chemistry runs hot, she’s hiding lots of secrets. Can Zenos show Ivy another way of living beyond just revenge?

Holy smokes! Ivy and Zenos are completely explosive together, right from the very beginning and all the way to the end. While I don’t want to call them enemies, they try so hard to resist one another that everything comes out as a heated argument or blissful release! I loved their passion! Ivy is so strong, such a warrior, and I love how protective she is of those she considers family. She is both selfless and selfish, reckless and yet super careful with her own heart. Zenos was all alpha male, bossy, cocky, wonderful! Protective and possessive! And he has kind of a rough exterior with a gooey center! Swoon! They have a lot of rough patches to work through, though, before either can consider a happy ending between them. I love that this book didn’t focus on fighting the Hive, but they were never far from the action in this book! There’s twists, turns, ups, downs, passion, and love within these pages and this is one amazing addition to one of my all time favorite romance series!

I really enjoyed this one! We are back to Rogue 5 and Ivy is tracking down a bounty in order to get revenge/justice for her team that was killed after taking a bad dose of quell. She was the lone survivor and just badly. She has been discharged from the coalition and so has come up with a trade and deal with the Astra legion in order to get onto Rogue 5 and find her man. She ends up with a short one night stand with a hot man while waiting for her contact to shortly find out that her one night stand is the contact, things definitely take a turn as both were drawn to each other but are focused on different goals at the time. Ivy to get her man bounty and Zenos to find and get his hands on the antidote to the venom that runs through his hybrid body. He realizes pretty quickly that Ivy is his mate but he can't bite her without risking her life. He doesn't trust in the antidote yet and it causes some problems for sure. He also has to realize how capable Ivy is. I loved watching Zenos show her their way of life as they tracked down her bounty and she understood and fit with their way of life and moral code. This story was full of action and intrigue and sexy times as well. I really enjoyed this one and loved getting more of Rogue 5.
The narrators did a good job with the story and bringing it to life as well as the action.

Zenos is a warrior there’s a hybrid who is on the moon base. He was at zenith at the canteen checking out and doing recon. And he sees Ivy. She is a tall woman who is no longer with the coalition. She was left for dead by the hive and basically almost had the will to survive. Wearing the scars of a warrior, She has an antidote that his species of hybrids need in order to claim their mate without killing them. Most of them have fangs in the venom that is embedded in their meat can kill them. Ivy has the antidote in return she is on a vengeful retaliation of her squad being killed. That begins this crazy high intense book. Not to mention from the first chapter it is so steamy I had to clean my glasses from the fog that came from reading the first three chapters. The adventure was action packed the characters were well-built and of course it was fun Antagonizing Zenos. A good read, a must read with snacks as you pretend to do laundry.

So so good💖💖💖

Zenos and Ivy's story was wonderful. Zenos is from Rogue5 he's a hybrid like Mac from "Rogue Cyborg" . He's a great warrior loyal to his clan and leader and wants a mate and family of his own. But that is out of his reach do to his deadly poisonous bite. Then he and others like him hear about Mac and how he's found a cure and has a mate. Ivy a coalition warrior whose whole team was killed in battle after taking bad Quell, fights tooth and nail to survive just so she can extract revenge on those responsible. She is willing to sacrifice anything including parts of herself to avenge her military family. She has access to what Zenos and his brothers want and they can help her get revenge. While they are helping each other the chemistry between Ivy and Zenos is off the charts. Both are head strong and want to be in charge but neither really is. What's really in charge is their hearts and their souls. There is lots of action, danger ,sizzling passion , misunderstandings and ultimately love. Highly recommend its a wonderful read. 💖💖💖

Ivy wanted to avenge her team. Quill killed them all but her. She wanted the man responsible for supplying the drug. Her plan, get passage to Transport Station Zenith by Rogue 5. She didn’t expect anything while waiting on meeting her contact. Zenos was intrigued by the woman at the bar. She was human but there was something about her. A one night stand is all he needs to take the edge off his fever. When he finds out that Ivy is their contact and has the antidote for them, he is shocked.

You have to give it to Ivy. She really did want to avenge her crew. I understand the hurt and guilty she was carrying. She kicked butt. Zenos was too stubborn to realize that Ivy was safe. Without the antidote, any Forsian that bit his mate would kill them with the venom. Now that they have it, they are safe to mate. I do love the strength that Ivy has. She is a fighter. Yes, she was Coalition but she is a machine that stands her ground. Zenos was a great lover but he just needed to listen. It took Astra to get him to see the light.

Nothing in heaven or hell that would stop him from making her his.

Ivy burned with a fire that could only be quenched by the death of the man responsible for the death her her team. It was that fire that forced her to become something more than human with illegal enhancements that made her stronger and better than ever before. Zenos was a hybrid member of the Astra Legion, he was the man that made it possible to find the man she needed dead. He was also the only man she would ever agree to mate. This was an exciting story borne of revenge and a love that could destroy the one you love most. It was love that made Zenos refuse to bite Ivy, a risk that could mean her death, but with the risk removed there was nothing on heaven or hell that would stop him from making her his. This was a story full of danger and drama, an oath fulfilled and a love that would last.

Okay so this was really good however not a five star read for me.

After coming off the high of finished her rogue mates I was so looking forward to another hot Rogue 5 male finding his perfect match. While Zenos and Ivy were perfect for each other, this book just lost some of its sparkle by the end. While it was typical Goodwin steamy brilliance, The sex was used as an escape and I felt like it cheapened their relationship.

There was a lack of communication which lead to Ivy misunderstanding why Zenos was so stubborn on the point of mating and it just dragged on for too long, It also felt like it was fixed and wrapped up way too quickly. Finally it seemed to just end abruptly and I was sad there was no epilogue a few years into the future like some of Goodwin's other books!

While this was an enjoyable read and the main couple had incredible chemistry, I felt a little let down after the brilliance of Her Rogue Mates.

Our female protagonist was not set up on the interstellar bride program but was a soldier in space, until her unit was killed (not from the hive but as a result of a bad batch drugs they took)

She had survivors guilt and decided to get illegal black market hive upgrades done to her body so she could hunt down the drug dealer & kill him.

She met a pirate on the way the alien species that has fangs and even though she really wants him to but her he was scared, he was a hybrid and apparently that made his bit deadly.

She told him she was had the vaccine and would trade it to his people if they helped her get close to the drug dealer.

They worked together, she was very kick ass. But he never fully understood her or believed in her and it was annoying.

Once she did what she set out to and he still refused to bit her & mate her. She left, he went after her.

It was slow in parts but fine overall

This novel was well written and edited, with no typos or wrong word choices that this reader caught. This novel had many action and adventure elements, and the world building and characterization were both very good. The heroine, especially, was a vibrant individual. The romance between hero and heroine developed naturally, though their relationship development was fairly simple because the external conflict, or stakes, in this novel were so high. This novel had low to medium levels of angst, or internal conflict. That tends to be my preferred narrative structure in romance novels, so I enjoyed it. This novel ends on a fairly satisfying HEA, or Happy Ever After. I recommend this novel to fans of sci-fi or paranormal romance.

Zenos and Ivy had an assignation in the back of a bar, both got satisfaction from the hook up and walked away without exchanging names or a thought for the other. WRONG it might have been a thing but when these two cross paths shortly afterwards they are about to discover that they may be attracted to each other if they can just get past their inner demons. Ivy lost her reckon team and nothing or nobody will stand in her way to exact revenge for their deaths. Zenos seeks the cure to his mating bite which prevents him from finding a mate. These two characters are extremely passionate, strong minded and push each others button, hugely entertaining watching these two spar. Withdrawal symptoms from finishing this story.

The softer side of Rogue 5 meets the harder side of a human... and the harder side of a human meets the even harder... well, all bad jokes aside... ;)
Ivy knows what she wants, and doesn't take too long to admit to herself what that is. After a quick hookup in a bar, Zenos becomes her gatekeeper to learning the culture of the individuals of Astra, a side effect of her journey towards killing the made she holds responsible for the death of her friends. But just as what she knows about Rogue 5 only scratches the surface of the truth, killing one villain only scratches the surface of slowing drug crimes. And just as Ivy's perspective is dominated by revenge, Zenos' is dominated by the need to be overly cautious. But Ivy at least has a secret to back up her seemingly reckless obsession; Zenos' cautiousness is no longer relevant and puts them at risk.

I already love this series, and this book takes you a little further out than the normal characters and planets. Ivy has seen it all. Working for the coalition and going on missions had been what she wanted to do. Until her an entire team was killed. She wanted revenge against the parties responsible. She needed to be stronger so she found a way to do it. Now that she was “more“ she was off to make a deal to find those responsible. Zenos has found his one, but now he needed to keep her alive. Their journey for justice is amazing, and dangerous, and the truth they will have to face when it is done might break them apart. A great book with wonderful characters. A strong female lead, and a strong male lead means amazing sexy times, and a great ride through the ups and downs of the book. I love the happily ever after.

This book was everything that I’ve been wanting for but didn’t know I wanted it it was that good. Ivy Birkeland use to a coalition frighter until her team was taken out and killed because they where high on the drug Quell but she survived but she was injured badly. Now she is a bounty hunter looking for revenge and a way on to Rogue 5 to get the man Gerian Eozara that killed her friends with his drugs. While waiting for her meeting with Astra Legion she decides to having some fun with this hot hybrid Forsian hunk at the bar was just what she needed but unbeknown to her he will be apart of the meeting and the antidote she carries as a bargaining chip. How will all this turn out in the end you’ll have to get this book to find out and I know you won’t be disappointed at all..
