Cosy up with a heartwarming festive novella from the USA Today bestselling author of Christmas movie faves, A GIFT TO REMEMBER & SOMETHING FROM TIFFANY'S. Animal lover Lucy feels blessed with her dream job; walking other people’s dogs for a living. The pooches she cares for are her closest friends - as good as family, and Lucy would concede that she certainly understands them a lot more than people. She wouldn't admit to having favourites among her charges, but if she really had to choose, it would be Berry; a huge, fun-loving Labradane who never stops eating. One day, when dropping Berry back to his elderly owner, Lucy is immediately concerned when there’s no reply. Until a neighbour breaks the news that sadly the old woman has died. And when absent relatives quickly make it clear that the dog is not their problem, Lucy realises she’s the only one left to take care of Berry. Her landlord won’t let her take him in - even temporarily - so in order to help the big dog find a home in time for the holidays, Lucy needs to push herself out of her comfort zone and into the community in her quest to find Berry his perfect match. And discovers that sometimes it’s not just dogs but people, who need rescuing too.'You'll love this enchanting, warm and fun read' **** (Closer)'Another blissfully escapist read ... a bit of modern fairy-tale magic...' I love Christmas stories and I love dog stories, so the fact that they were both combined in this novella made it a perfect read for me :) Sweet, funny, touching, romantic....highly recommend!
A light Christmas romance Lucy is a shy dog walker who prefers dogs to humans. After walking her favourite dog Berry a huge labradane Lucy finds the elderly owner has passed away and the family don`t want the dog so she trys very hard to re-home accumulating other abandoned puppy's on the way.
The only thing I didn`t like was the re-homing of the dogs before Christmas as lots of dogs are returned or abandoned if homed before Christmas and not to get dogs for Christmas.
I’ve read several of Melissa Hill’s Christmas books before and have always enjoyed them. This little novella is perfect for Christmas as it is under an hour and a half’s reading time.
In this story dog walker Lucy needs to try and find a home for a labradane dog called Berry after his owner has died. It’s a sweet story, and even though homing a dog for Christmas is not really promoted in the UK, every effort is taken to tackle the subject of rehoming dogs very carefully.
There’s a bit of romance along the way too. I enjoyed this.
This was so delightful, I absolutely loved it, do wish it had been longer though rather than a short story. The characters were great, not to mention all the adorable dogs. I even learned a few new things about dogs, as Lucy was very informative and knew her stuff when it comes to different kinds of dogs. Also enjoyed seeing the interaction between Lucy and Scott develop from friendship to something beautiful. Story was well written and very enjoyable.
This was a great read. A dog walker finds her happily ever after through a dog. Trying to find a home for one of her clients leads to something better for her and the dog. Looking forward to reading more books from this author
Cute, fun, quick read. Lucy has the most wonderful job in the world, a dog walker. When the unexpected happens she finds another aspect she can add to her business - matching the perfect dog to its fur ever home. Full of warmth and Christmas joy this book is a perfect read for the dog lover.
A sweet story with lots of good feels and dogs. Berry is such a sweet dog that brings two people together to find their happily ever after. Great touching story.

I enjoyed Twelve Of Christmas! It's a fun filled quick read. Dogs and of course, a lot of romance romance. A perfect book for this time of year, especially if you like dogs. This is the first book by Melissa Hill that I have read.
This is a story for people who believe in love. For both dogs and the people who love them. It is about how having good friends can help see the path you are on clearly. I enjoyed it very much
I finished Twelve Dogs at Christmas by Melissa Hill.
This short story offers a charming and heartwarming tale. A love story that brings together a few dogs and two humans. All finding love and their forever home. 4 🌟
Who doesn't love the loyalty of a dog and a sweet romance. This book hits on all things that bring joy, happiness friendship and romance. I was hooked after the first wag, and the first boy meets girl. A delightful and uplifting romance. Happy holidays
Lucy is a shy dog walker. She meets a contractor at one of her clients. That client dies that day and Lucy tries to find the ideal home for the big dog. This is a very nice Christmas romance with lots of dogs.
Very sweet, knew from the start what was going to happen, reminded me a bit of fan fiction Ive read, as a liver of both dogs and Christmas I found this a cute short warm read
My thoughts: This was such a wholesome Christmas read full of pups! What could be better.
There isn’t huge depth to the story and its relatively short, roughly 140 pages, but its a feel/good novella that makes you feel warm on the inside.
The book touches on a slight hint of romance which is also highly enjoyable but of course the main storyline is on the dogs and finding them homes for the Christmas holidays.
Although we know a dog is not just for Christmas, I feel the novel goes a long way to go beyond this message and although centred around the Christmas period there is vast consideration in making sure the dogs are not just given away but paired up precisely to the perfect owner.
