Annie needs her Barcourt education but there's a problem; the leader of the Barons has decided he needs her.

After a grisly death of a female student, Annie is determined to stay in control of her destiny. At Barcourt, this was a school where little girls like her go to die.

And only four boys had the power and control.

The Barons.

And James Knightley - the leader of the Baron Kings - wants her.

Annie

I was supposed to stay under the radar. Quiet, scholarship girls like me were at the bottom of the food chain.
And I intended to do that.
Until James latched his eyes on me. He's everywhere I turn, taunting me, provoking me, teasing me.

He hates me but he won't leave me.

In this den of lions, survival is key.

But will my heart make it out alive?

James

It's her again. That curly haired scholarship kid with those doe eyes.

God, she doesn't realise what she does to me.
I have to break her. Put her in her place.

She won't control my feelings. Never.

Weakness is not an option. When you're a Baron, power is your weapon. Survival is for the weak.

But the more I fight her? The more I crave her fiery side, the more I ache for her touch.

This isn't a game that Annie Howell is going to win. I'll make damn sure of it.

Bring it on, Howell. You can flutter those pretty eyes but no-one breaks down my walls.

No-one.

A DARK, SEDUCTIVE BULLY ROMANCE full of passion and heated exchanges. These two opposites will push for their freedom, even if it means destroying the one they desire. Annie needs her Barcourt education but the leader of the Barons needs her. He won't let her go that easily. How dare she steal his heart without him knowing? This book is part of a series and it has a HEA with a continuation for the next book. You won’t want to miss this exciting read!

Needs work

Does Annie have red hair or honey blonde?? These are inconsistencies that readers really dislike to me it shows lack of care for your work! Also Annie says James says her name yet he actually didn’t say it at all no one did... My advice get someone to help you find these things before you hit publish because the author definitely has a talent for writing I hope future books have less of these things.

I enjoyed this book however I felt the ending was rushed. It felt like there was more to the mystery (the headmaster definitely had some creepy vibes that made me think he had something to do with the girl's suicide). I really liked the romance. The MC was compelling, and James and his friends were fun to read about. I enjoyed the 3rd pov and the author's writing style overall.

Badly needs editing

SJ Black, It is so insulting to your readers if you don't bother to edit your books properly. GRAMMAR, GRAMMAR , GRAMMAR!!! I won't mention the rushed ending.
