When firefighter Jeremy Davis responds to an emergency call at the home of the town’s resident Santa Claus only weeks before Christmas, it’s anything but routine when he comes face to face with the man’s granddaughter. He hasn’t laid eyes on Bella since their first awkward kiss thirteen years ago and now she's all grown up—and gorgeous.
Bella Burton is in town to help her aging grandfather—and to take a break from her flailing singing career. The last thing she expected was to run into the scrawny boy she used to spend her summers with. Especially since the sexy, strong man he’d turned into was far from the kid she remembers.
It may have been over a decade ago, but the connection between them that they were too young to recognize when they were kids, is still very much alive and it’s stronger than ever. But Bella’s only in town for a short time. Can the magic of Christmas, and the spirit of the season spark a love that’s strong enough to last long past the holidays?
Elena Aitken is a USA Today Bestselling Author of more than forty romance and women’s fiction novels. Living a stone’s throw from the Rocky Mountains with her teenager twins, their two cats and a goofy rescue dog, Elena escapes into the mountains whenever life allows. She can often be found with her toes in the lake and a glass of wine in her hand, dreaming up her next book and working on her own happily ever after with her very own mountain man.
Jeremy is a firefighter but he also looks out for the older members of the community. In this case he has been out to this house several times this week. This particular time he goes to the house because of an oven fire. When he gets there it is because Bella is in town and she was trying to fix a nice dinner for her grandfather.
We Wish You A Happily Ever After by Elena Aitken, book five in her Ever After series, is a wonderful story featuring Jeremy Davis and Bella Burton. Firefighter Jeremy is responding once again to the home of the town’s resident Santa Claus, just weeks before Christmas. This time he comes face to face to the man’s granddaughter, Bella, who he hasn’t seen for thirteen years; when they had an awkward first kiss. Bella is in town to help her aging grandfather, who is struggling to live alone, in addition to taking a break from her floundering singing career. Bella never expected to run into the formerly skinny boy she used to spend her summers with; especially since he turned into a sexy, strong man. Although it was over a decade since they last saw each other, their connection was still strong and their electricity was off the charts. The magic of Christmas just might prove to Bella and Jeremy that love is more powerful than anything.
Ms. Aitken wrote a wonderful and amazing story, filled with sizzling chemistry, fun interactions, a little surprise, and charming secondary characters that is not to be missed. I totally enjoyed and highly recommend We Wish You A Happily Ever After to other readers.
What a sweet, loving, holiday story for the holidays! Jeremy Davis is just a nice guy who loves his job as a firefighter. He runs into an old…friend, Bella Burton, when he and another firefighter answer a house fire call. It’s a simplistic explanation but it is a fun, quick read. Although Jeremy sorta/kinda has his life together, he and Bella have a lot in common. They both have to work thru their…insecurities and past hurts to get to an HEA and a happy holiday season. Quick read, very cute, and perfect for the holidays.
Cute little Christmas story. Jeremy and Bella knew each other years ago, but lost touch.
She comes back to town to spend Christmas with her grandfather, and accidentally sets the oven on fire - enter Jeremy, who is now a firemen. The sparks are still alive and they are definitely attracted to each other. They see each other and do festive things over the next couple of weeks. With Christmas fast approaching, and unbeknownst to Jeremy, she has some events she HAS to tend to. She up and leaves, without a word, he is left to wonder what happened and would she be back.
What a wonderful Christmas story full of emotion & Christmas magic. The characters are perfect - a grandfather fighting aging, a disillusioned singer on the cusp of stardom, the childhood best friend turned firefighter that looks out for them. I love the way the characters from the earlier books come in with updates on their lives since we left them.
A sweet Christmas story. Jeremy and Bella had been sweethearts in high school and had gone separate ways but fate gives them a second chance but will it stick. Loved this heart warming story
They had been sweethearts in High School. She had been his first kiss. Fourteen years had passed since she had been home. The feelings were still their but he was mountains and she was big city. How was it ever going to work. With a lot of love and lot of Santa help
I enjoyed reading this short story about Bella, a singer, and Jeremy, a fireman. When Jeremy had been fourteen, and Bella sixteen they had a crush on each other, which they have never forgotten, even though thirteen years have passed.
Jeremy is called to an incident at Roy Burton’s house, a fairly regular occurrence lately. He knocks on the door but there is no response. Roy is fast asleep in the lounge, and there is food on fire in the oven in the kitchen. Then someone comes in, it is Bella, visiting her grandfather for Christmas, the first visit by any of his family in a long time. Bella admits she put a lasagne in the oven, and forgot to take the cardboard off the top, then she had rushed off to the shop to buy salad and garlic bread to have with the lasagne.
Over the next few days they meet regularly, and become romantically attached, but her career catches up with her, and she has to rush back to the city for a gig without telling Jeremy she is going. Unsurprisingly he is very upset. Do they have a happy ending? You need to read it and find out!
It is quite a gentle story and could have been a little longer to add some depth, but overall a delightful read.
This one is part of the author’s Ever After series in the town of Glacier Falls. Jeremy Davis is a firefighter who met Bella Burton in his youth. She was the granddaughter of the town’s Santa Claus who would spent the summers in town. He had a terrible crush on her but it was thirteen years ago when he last saw her. Imagine his surprise when during an emergency call he finds the adult version of Bella in her grandfather’s home. Bella is an up and coming singer at a crossroads in her career. When things seem to be going well between them, Bella must decide what she wants in life. Will the magic of Christmas bring them together, or will it be only a memory?
Very sweet Christmas novella, bringing all our friends from previous Ever After books together for this quick romance with a large dose of holiday cheer. Bringing warmth, family, romance and steam to your e-reader this season. Add to your TBR list.
A sweet love story for Bella and Jeremy. This is a short story and and easy read as well as a great addition to the series. I can't wait for more about their story.

Great novella and introduction to Jeremy and Bella as I'm sure there will be more to their story.
