When Hephaestus marked me to be the next Queen of Vulcan, he also marked me for death.

My father has ruled our lands while awaiting the next Queen. He was meant to uphold peace and prosperity— and then rejoice and step down when she was marked.

But he had no intention of giving up the throne.
He wanted to murder all the Queens.

Even his own daughter.

He wanted me to be beautiful, but useless.
Elegant and voiceless.
Pliant and submissive.

Too bad for him— I'm none of those things. And I'll show him that a True Queen bows to no one.

My mates and I will take the throne and restore balance to our lands. Our forge will burn bright once more.

Nothing will stop us.

Even if it means killing the man who raised me.

This is war.

The Forge Queen is the first book in the Royal Celestials, a zodiac-based series, and represents Aries. This is a medium-burn fantasy reverse harem romance that can be read as a standalone.

I liked the writing style but not the story. Three guys already together and pining, the quick reveal and obvious betrayal. I couldn’t get into it with the doom and gloom prophecy from the start. I did like Ayden, he was adorable and I liked how he messed with the guys.

Extremely boring

I'm not even sure where to start with this one. I believe the authors had a great idea, and completely failed with the execution of it.

First, the characters are horrendous. I found myself hating them all tbh. Emilia starts off strong and ends up so weak. You go into it thinking shes gonna be some badass queen and shes not at all. She literally does nothing in this entire story except for hiding from the King. Throughout the story there is barely any character development. There doesn't seem to be any type of relationship or feeling between the characters. We're just told they love each other and that's it.
The men are hardly even described physically. I couldn't really tell you anything about them, other than Everett has dark hair. Their personalities fall completely flat as well. One is supposed to be a jokester, the other the quiet smart guy, and then the guy that's always angry. We get no other information or background on them.

Once they start to come into their powers, the story just gets worse. They describe the characters as just practicing for a few hours and getting better at using their powers. We're never told what the powers actually are or anything in depth about how the characters use them. They only hint that they may possess different types of powers based on personality.

***SOME SPOILERS AHEAD***

One of the things that really bothered me about this story was how everything went down with the King. Emilia is immediately taken out, and that's it? No fight from her at all? And her mates just being put in a cell to sit it out?? The entire castle is on their side at this point to overthrow the king and their just napping in a cell? What the heck? .. This whole book builds up to Emilia having to fight the crazy King and take her throne... then the time comes and NOTHING???? this was one of the most anticlimactic books I've ever read. I don't even understand the point of giving her mates because they were completely useless throughout the whole book. I kinda understand the story they were trying to do for Emilias mother and her role in killing the king... but she wasn't the main character! She did all the work while Emilia and her men did absolutely nothing.

This book was just horribly frustrating.

Will I read anything from these authors again? NO!

I will be continuing with the series though, only because each book is a different author. One of my favorite authors is coming up and I'm hoping the other books leading up to it are way better than this one.

All tell, no show

I really struggled to get into this book. The writing style was all tell, no show. I lost count if how many times the authors told us that the characters felt this or that, but never really showed it. I didn't ever grow to like any of the characters. I felt like the whole book could have been a whole lot shorter if Emelia had just killed Byron right away. I also have a lot of questions about this world. The biggest one is, why do all the Queens die at once? I'm not sure I'm interested enough to read other books in the series though. As far as this one goes, I haven't read anything from either of the authors so it could be that I just don't like their combined writing style. I'll try their individual books but I'll definitely avoid any more collabs and I don't really recommend this one.

The Forge Queen is the first book of The Royal Celestials series. Focusing on 12 Queens that will all be pivotal in changing their world - Astari. This book is about Princess Emelia (FMC) and her life under the tyrannical rule of her father - King Bryon. Ruling Vulcan when as a proxy ruler not the real King. I wont give away the plot but Emelia and her friends - Everett, Wyatt and Alastair are all important in changing Vulcan for the better. Action - packed, fast paced and steamy as hell with one very cute kitsune - Ayden. I really enjoyed this book and all the characters in it. Its a bloody good read

These two authors, MF Adele and RL Caulder created such a great start in building this brand new world and set the scene for some epic stories to come. I absolutely loved Emelia and her guys: Everett Wyatt and Alastair. Emelia was fierce and a complete badass with this soft spot for her men. Now her men were completely protective of Emelia, but just like her they turn to marshmallow when it comes to their girl. The dynamics that Emelia has with every character throughout the story is special and unique in its own way. I love how she didn’t shy away from the trouble brewing and faced it head on and was willing to go through all the pain to keep her people safe. This book was filled with action from beginning to end. This was a great start to the series and I’m really looking forward to each queens story.

All hail the rightful Queen

It's so nice to read about Queens ruling as opposed to kings.
The Forge Queen is an RH adventure of the rightful queen taking the throne from her father, who is destroying everything the Queens before build. He's defying their God to stay on the seat. Emeila has to defeat him while keeping her mates safe. She takes him on without them.
This was a fast paced mildly steamy romance. The first book in the series that is the Royal Celestials.
Though this book dragged a bit in the beginning it hit a climax without any breathe between. Emeila and her mates have an amazing connection formed from an early age that only strengthens as they each get the tattoo of the Aries on their arms.
4 stars and looking forward to more Queens and their quests to claim their thrones.

The Forge Queen is the first book in the Royal Celestials series, which looks to be a reverse harem series. Each book is written by a different author and will follow a different main female character as she journeys to not only discover her destiny but claim her queendom, which means each book could be read as a standalone. This is a zodiac-based series, which means each queen will an astrological sign that represents them and comes into play in the story.

This story takes place in the city of Astari, in the country of Vulcan. Vulcan has always been ruled by a queen so instead of calling it a kingdom, it's a queendom (I love that feminine power) until recently, there hasn't been a queen on the throne for a bit and instead has been ruled by King Byron until Vulcan's true queen can be found. She will be picked by their god, Hephaestus, and will be known by her mark. I love that the story is based on Greek mythology, Hephaestus is the god of fire, Aries is the zodiac symbol for this queen and is a fire sign, and the whole Vulcan culture is wrapped around Blacksmithing. Everything ties together so neatly and it's interesting to see the zodiac, mythology, and the common day blend together so seamlessly all with a feminine power leading the charge.

Emelia is this books leading lady, she is a princess, the daughter of the Vulcan regent king. Emelia is kind, sweet, caring, flirty, sassy, smart, and curious. She has a deep love for her country and her people, she is always willing to learn, to understand the world around her and the people who live in it. I admire that she wants to do the right thing and stand up to her father who is a cruel king who is only interested in power no matter who he has to hurt to get it and keep it.

Good thing she has her trio by her side, the three royal guards who have been Emelia's friends and who will become much more. Alistar, Wyatt, and Everett don't see Emelia's crown, they see her for who she is, her spirit, and love her for it. At the beginning of this story, their friendship has been established but through this story they have become much more, forming an even deeper connection. I love the love and protectiveness that the guys show Emelia, how they are willing to do whatever it takes to protect her and will standby her no matter what. Their personalities are so different but each brings something Emelia needs to balance out her emotions, because after Aries is a fire sign and full of emotion (most anger or passion).

It always blows my mind when an author (or in this case authors) can create a standalone that has everything you expect in the story, for it to feel so complete and give the information needed in one book. Authors Adele and Caulder have gone even further than that because the Forge Queen had all of that but it was a quick and interesting read with characters that I like from the start. The only problem I had was that Emelia didn't really have any solutions and she didn't really implement anything but is the type of character, that's a little softer than most so I can understand why the story went that way and I don't really begrudge her for that.

The Forge Queen was a quick read that was filled with passion, love of country, feminine power, steam, and was interesting, everything I'm looking for in a story. Now that I got the hang of what this series is gonna be like I am quite curious about how the other queens' stories will go and how the other authors will tackle whatever situations the future queens find themselves in with the men that will support, care and love them. The next book is Horned Queen by Lacuna Ried, and I can't wait to see what happens with the Venus Mark, my guess is a certain love goddess will be mentioned.

I'm very excited for this new series of books. It will be interesting to see what route each author takes with the zodiac sign they have and see how they develop the characters, the Queendom, and the powers that each set receives once they come into power.

The Forge Queen was such a fun and easy book to get into. I loved how the Vulcan people were described and how the type of land and power they represented blended with the zodiac sign for their region. Adele and Caulder did a wonderful job in making the start of this made up world actually believable in the manner that they created the story and world Emelia and her men lived in. The Forge Queen is a great basis to get to know the world and have a decent foundation of what to expect from the other authors, despite them creating their own stories for their particular zodiac.

Emelia is definitely a main character that you'll enjoy reading about. Despite being thrown into this whole queen situation and being pretty much clueless about what to do, like I'm sure many or all will be in this series, she handled everything with bravery, grace, and determination. Though she grew up as a princess she certainly didn't act that way and I'm glad that she had some backbone to her and wasn't afraid to put herself into the fight against power-hungry misplaced rulers that think they deserve everything but have done nothing to support their people. I have a feeling that this will be a repeating occurrence in this series and I can't wait to see how each true queen handles their own battle.

What an AMAZING way to start off a new shared World Series! This series focuses on 12 different Queens each of them representing a different astrological sign! This book is centred around the Princess Emelia who represents Aries! This book can be read as a stand-alone.

Emelia is kind and sassy but also very curious! I love how she strives to do the right thing and wants to stand up to her father! It’s very clear of Emelia’s passion and love for her country and people!

I loved the guys, Alistar, Wyatt and Everett! They are supportive, protective and loyal, each of them giving Emelia something different to balance her emotions out.

This books has plenty of world building which really begins to set things up for this book and the rest of the series! Not only that but it is action-packed and super steamy, I would say it’s med/fast burn as the relationships do progress rather quickly, but having said that she already had a past with her guys prior to when the book begins!

I think this book is an amazing start to the Zodiac based shared World Series! Both the authors have do a phenomenal job and I’m really looking forward to what else this series has in store!

Sucked.

Admittedly, I accidentally read Scorpio’s before this one, and had my hopes way up. The Scorpion Queen or whatever is book 8 I think? Or 7 I can’t remember, anyway, it was SO GOOD! Everything about it hit the
mark. I was so so excited for Aries (my sign) and so damn disappointed.

Some of the reviews here are kind in their discontent, but this book made me viscerally angry over and over again. I really don’t want to waste my breath typing up everything that was wrong with this book so I’ll just say this:

Give the others a shot, at least Scorpio’s for sure. Don’t even bother with this one or if you do, I’m sorry. I tried to warn you.

It’s honestly awful. I tried, I really did, the author obviously has skill, but it’s all technical. Like anyone can learn to play an instrument but it takes talent to make music? Sorta like that.

I DNF’d at 91%. Not on purpose, I just kept waiting for the book to get exciting and then out of no where the enemy is defeated, in like a paragraph, and we’re on to the FMC’s coronation. I’d have to go back and check but I’m pretty sure the big defeat happens around 75%? So I figured well gosh, what else is there? The answer? Nothing. Well, we get some new background info I guess regarding the mother and her story, but you saw that coming a mile away and really belonged before the climax, not in the conclusion. Whose conclusion is a quarter of their book anyway? Like seriously.

Everything about this book just lacked depth. No character development, no relationships explained or grown, the world building didn’t line up with what I know from other books, nor did it really go into any detail. They all seem to have magical powers for some reason? Though they never use them. The harem are fated mates, also for no reason? Also, they all seemed to have been fooling around with the FMC but never discussed their feelings with her (or her them) and each took a turn having sex with her for the first time throughout the book? It’s unclear. And awkward.

I hated every second of this.

The Forge Queen is a solid start to this shared world series. The world building and incorporation of the zodiac was really well done and I'm looking forward to how the other books will incorporate their zodiac elements.

I liked the FMC and each of her guys (each with their own distinct personality). This group is a friends to lovers trope, despite the class difference between a princess and guards. There are individual scenes with her mates and group scenes. There's also an absolutely amazing familiar and I want one of my own, just like him.

There were a few instances in the plot where I was confused what had happened or was going to happen (the group's early relationship and later when the group needed to plan how to overthrow the false king, as examples). The ending is strong and a great lead-in to the rest of the books.

Amazing World Building!!

The Forge Queen by R.L. Caulder and M.F. Adele is book 1 in the The Royal Celestials shared universe. I would consider it to be more of a fast burn RH romance.

When Emelia is marked by Hephaestus to be the next queen of Vulcan, she is not expecting to have to fight her own father the King Regent for the throne. Raised to be submissive and quiet, Emelia is anything but, and I loved getting to see her Aries personality traits come through. Since this is a stand-alone, I liked that Emelia and her men already had a connection before taking the next step in this book. It helped with the believability of the romance aspects of this book.

Emelia is a fun FMC to read because even though she struggles and doubts herself, she is passionate about her people and is determined to do the right thing. If you’ve read any of R.L. Caulder’s other books, you know she always has fantastic world building and The Forge Queen is no different!

I enjoyed reading about Emelia and her three men:Wyatt, Alastair and Everett. It was an introduction to a new universe with multiple authors writing about a different queen. Ayden was my favourite, who doesn't love a mischievous kitsune who causes trouble!

Even though the book was only 50k words long, we still got to see plenty of insight to the multiple characters living in Vulcan. They definitely made us not like the king at all and got us feeling for the mother having to deal with him. We still got to see plenty of personality from the guys and Emelia. I personally like Alastair the best just because of his playful nature. It is worth a read and look forward to seeing what the other queens in this universe have to go through!

The Forge Queen follows Emelia, the princess in power, and her men, Allistair, Wyatt, and Everett. This has all the makings of a fantastic story and while it didnt quite hit the five star mark for me, it will for a lot of others.

Things I love:
⭐Reverse harem
⭐feisty pet sidekick
⭐Intrigue and fates to be followed
⭐Growth in the heroine

I think the only real negative for me, personally, is that I never felt connected to the heroine. She's smart, beautiful, loves her people, owns her sexuality but I just never clicked with her overall which left me feeling a bit disconnected from the story.

The intertwined world of this series and the concepts are incredible though and I really enjoyed the book in its entirety. I will warn you though that Ayden will steal the show😉

Needs more world building

When the person destroying the home you love is your father things might get a bit dicey. Especially when you have the one thing that he wants.

I like the overall premise of the story and I feel like this book was trying to build up to the shared world but missed the mark for me in some aspects. Since this is the first book I would have expected more of a set up for the world that the MC lived in. As well as things were mentioned but no backstory or context were given. I think this book read more like a second book in a series than the first. Maybe if the book was a bit longer the author could have gave more details and backstory and really made you fall in love with the characters and world.

Fair to middling

Surely I cannot be the only reader to envision padlocks whenever authors use the word “locks” to describe hair. Or Baoding balls when writers use the word “orbs” in lieu of the more commonly used, and accurate term, “eyes”. Or if an author says that a character “waltzes” I picture them dancing, not striding with confidence.

Part of what makes it difficult for me to like many self-published books is because many of them read like fanfic. This book was no different.

It was…ok. I am not thrilled that 3 stars is considered a negative review because the book is a solid C. It’s passing. I’m not going to read any of the remaining books in the series, but I read to the end of this one. I didn’t love it, I didn’t hate it.

I loved this book! It was action-packed and complete with a kick butt heroine, her mates and a mischievous familiar.

This story was brilliantly written and full of incredible imagery. The depictions of the forge, volcano, Hephaestus, castle and more completely had me immersed in the story. I was so caught up in Emelia’s story as she came into her rightful role as the True Queen with her men, mom and people beside her.

This book was jammed packed full of funny, heartfelt, and confidence drive moments that even had me gleaming with pride as Emelia devoted herself to her people as the True Queen of Vulcan.

This is a fantastic book and a must read story!

So I was pretty excited to find out this whole series will be in a shared world but each author will follow their own characters. RL Caulder and MF Adele did not disappoint. I dove right in head first and didn’t come back up until the end. Emelia is the strong FMC in this story that deals with all the crap thrown at her along with her men. Her father, the king, is the one thing standing in her way on her road to the thrown and helping her people. Plenty of ups and downs while you travel with Emelia on her adventure. Absolutely fabulous! Cannot wait to see what the other books have in store for us in this series! 💜🖤

The ending of this book was my favourite part. These characters fought tooth and nail for that HEA, and that made the ending that much sweeter.
Emilia is strong, resilient and compassionate. She was born to be a queen and lead her people with kindness and, most of all, fairness.
The guys are super protective of her. Everett with his temper, Wyatt with his rationality and Alastair with his playfulness, all so different but with the same goal. To protect and cherish their flame.
They fought against an undeserving king blind by power while learning to be open with each other’s, not an easy task but together they succeeded.

I was super excited for the Royal Celestials series when it was announced and the multiple authors contributing to it. RL Caulder and MF Adele did not disappoint with this series starter. The Forge Queen is actioned packed with fated mates, a kicka** FMC and a playful familiar. This is a quick fast burn reverse harem story.

Emelia is fierce and stands up for what she believes in. When she overhears the regent king’s plans for the True Queen, she takes it upon herself to find and help her. Along the way Emelia discovers things that will change the course of her life forever.

The Forge Queen has me hooked and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this shared world series, but this book made me so excited for the rest. I like that it has an element of mythology in it, because I am a huge nerd for old myths. I really loved Emelia and her strength when everything was being thrown at her. I also have to say that I'm not sure if I have hated any character as much as I hated King Byron and his patriarchal BS. I can not wait to see what the rest of the authors have come up with for their books in this universe.

Emelia is marked to be the next queen of Vulcan, but her tyrant father, the king, stands in her way, he wants her dead. So Emelia, along with her mates, and their allies, set on a mission to put her in her rightful place, on the throne of Vulcan!

I loved this story! These authors are two of my fav’s and I have to say, they wrote an incredible story together! I loved the storyline, the characters, and of course the sexiness!

I absolutely recommend this book and am very excited to read the next story in the fantastic “world”!

This book is a great example of why I typically read series instead of standalones (I know there will be more, but the series doesn't follow the same characters all the way through so it's a gray area.) I get attached to characters like they're my new best friends and then I get sad when it's over.

This was a fairly quick read, but thoroughly enjoyable. I like the world that's being established and I'm excited to see how it develops in later books. Also, I'd follow M. F. Adele off a cliff at this point.

from the first page I was drawn into this magical world of Astari, where we meet Emelia who is sweet and caring. She is also fiercer and is not afraid to go against her tyrannical father who wants to stay in power and kill the true queen but with the help of her three hot, loyal men and cheeky familiar (who is amazing and I want one too), will she be able to overthrow him and take her rightful place? This is amazing storytelling from two great authors and I can’t wait to see what they will come up with next.

Loved this book. Adele and Caulder make a good team and should definitely make more book babies together.
Emelia is the daughter of the regent king. a faux king who will do anything and everything to keep his throne and the power and riches that comes with the crown.
Emelia has just learned a truth which could rock her and her friends whole life and throw the kingdom into a frenzy.
This was an amazing read and I would love to have more from this world.

I was intrigued before I even started into this story. The more I read, the more interested I became. Emilia is an awesome character with swoon worthy mates. There is suspense, drama, and so many secrets that I blew through the book excited to see what would happen next! With The Forge Queen, you get a nice dose of steam, a fast paced story, and an introduction to a new shared world. I'm excited to see what the other authors will bring to the world!

The Vulcans needed the Forge Queen as they hated the king. Princess Emelia has just found out the god blessed her to be The Forge Queen; and her mates Everett, Wyatt and Alastair to be her consorts and her familiar Ayden. They have to make a plan to kill Byron; at least that what they think. Emelia gets help from her mother and takes the crown. I cant wait to read about the other Queens and the path they take.

Once again, I read this book without the blurb. It started out a little slow for me in the first couple chapters but I know Rach's books so I just held on and it ended up being so worth the read. I would definitely consider this a fast burn and the story line was really good. Once I got into it I couldn't put it down.

This was a great quick read. Multiple pov which is always a plus for me. She doesn't collect her harem throughout the story so it is somewhat already established. It is part of a series but it is read as a stand alone, which is a nice change. I am looking forward to reading others as the series progresses.
