In book two of The Prodigy Slave, the unknown injustices taking place behind the scenes are detailed during Lily’s unprecedented journey to Winter Garden. The twisted web of deception slowly unravels to unveil the unsuspecting deviants responsible for the dramatic turn of events on Christmas night that leave Lily completely blindsided and desperately trying to decipher between enemies and allies. Amid trying to make sense of the confusion, two deep secrets are inadvertently revealed that bring rise to blackmail, threats of murder, revenge, and sinful betrayal. The shocking revelations leave Lily obsessively questioning her sanity, the purpose of her existence, and the validity of her unique love affair. Ultimately, Lily questions whether she will ever live out her musical dreams and sail to the Old World ruled by a queen, or live the nightmare of being imprisoned in the old world ruled by her abusive, psychopathic, white supremacist master.

Londyn Skye is a comical, 43-year-old mother of two, ex-all-American collegiate athlete, million-mile lady trucker phenom, and a romance novel junkie! When she was a child, Londyn began creating stories in the fantasy world of her mind as a way to escape life’s troubles. As an adult, she decided to challenge herself to turn her comforting fantasies into a novel. That challenge led her to write The Prodigy Slave trilogy. Wanting the utmost quality for her readers, she has diligently worked to balance the saga with humor, drama, romance, unpredictable plots, and devious, neurotic characters that are equally as captivating as the erotic love scenes between the fascinating heroes and heroines. She has painstakingly painted her fantasies with words that she hopes will help readers to see the images just as beautifully as her unique mind does. Most importantly, she hopes that everyone will feel just as emotionally moved and inspired by the heroes and heroines in her love story.
I am so mad at Londyn right now! This book had me all in my feelings. I bawled like a baby. I got so mad until I had to close the book for a couple of days to get my emotions back in sync. There was so much going and every emotion I had was wrenched from me. I am so glad my curiosity led to to this series. This series is my 2021 books of the year. I HATE Jesse, JR, Uncle Duke, and Elijah. I started off with disappointment with Elijah that turned into hatred...and Jessie is the devil's spawn! Skye is an amazing writer> I would love to see this as a mini series or movie on the big screen. A mini series though would allow for more of the story to be filmed vs a movie. This was an amazing read. Book three has to clear up all of this. My heart of goes to Lily. It is not a slavery book that I would've imagined. It is so realistically written. Yes, there were triggers but I could not put the book down for long periods.
After having lived in her fantasy for a short time, Lily’s life gets turned into a nightmare all over again. As her world crumbles around her and the man she loves stands by watching, she realizes her happy ending might never happen. Getting a taste of freedom only to get shackled again destroyed her.
James promised her she would never see his father or set foot in his barn ever again. He promised they would go to the Old World. He promised he would protect her.
James felt like he had failed Lily in every way a man could fail the love of his life. To outsmart the people who wanted nothing more than to harm Lily, he was forced to do things he didn’t want to. With a lot more lives on the line, James has to play the role of a cold master. His only concern is how much money he can get out of a deal.
Will James be able to get Lily out of the nightmare they got thrown into before it’s too late? Or will his father, MJ (the girl who wants James to marry her), and the Ghost Riders put an end to their love?
This book answers a lot of the questions the first book presented the reader with. Having the first book ended in chaos, this one starts with it. Several unpredictable elements contribute to an intense ride filled with emotions. It will trigger anger, fear, and might leave you in tears. But you’ll also get a few happy moments to balance out the book.
Every scene in this one will keep you on edge. So much is at stake and the risks are high, with a lot of enemies surrounding the two lovers. A few things were predictable, but in others, it wasn’t difficult to figure out what would happen or how it’d play out. However, this book shows how one action could trigger another. It’s like a web that’s meant to get you stuck with no way out.
I admired how the author showed the ugly side of that period. It made the story more realistic and suspenseful. With every gruesome part, we see how humanity has failed some only to benefit others who believe the colour of their skin gives them more rights.

Lily is now my favourite character for showing me that life can knock you down, but no matter what, you will have the strength to get back up. James showed me how far you can go for the people you love. Even if you lose yourself doing it, if the outcome is worth the pain, then no amount of suffering would stop you from loving someone with all of your heart.
This book will break your heart, but it will be worth it.
Before I started this one, I knew it would break my heart and make me cry. I was ready to have my heartbroken. But what I read was so much more than what I signed up for. With every turn of the page, the chaos that left us hanging in the first book intensifies. Every sentence will trigger different emotions, every line will hook you into reading the next word. As I read, I felt everything the characters felt. It would have been nice to see everyone who wronged them suffer. Everyone who pulled them apart to receive what they deserved. However, this book is realistically written so that it shows that evil sometimes wins. There will, however, come a time when all the evil will turn and hunt those who commit it.
I can easily say that this book will forever be a favourite. If you ever search for a good-cry book, I recommend giving this one a chance.
This second book was so much of a roller coaster ride, I almost don’t know what to say. First, the author did a fantastic job of writing so many duplicitous characters that it was definitely coming across as an antebellum drama that sadly was historically based. Secondly, God bless the child who has his/her own...Lily. Lily has to suffer through many DEADLY mistakes that James makes, which is so questionable, it’s almost too torturous to withstand. Thirdly, James’s character was extremely hard not to just give up on entirely. Unfortunately, the last stunt Mary Jo pulls off, I already saw how it was going to play out upon Lily (AGAIN), which was extremely hurtful, although expected. Lastly, the only way I won’t come out of this series absolutely not hating James, is if he sends his ENTIRE family to (you know where) himself!!! Finally, BE A MAN JAMES AND STAND UP AND FIGHT!!!!
The 3 books in this series are all very long and so far, books 1 and 2 end as cliff-hangers. I think folks should be aware of this situation in case they didn't get all 3 books. I was fascinated in all the twist and turns in the lives but be prepared for lots of violence and lots of disappointments in the lives of the H and h. I've just started Book 3 (over 700 pages) and will be extremely disappointed if it doesn't have a happy ending. The H and h so deserve a happy ending to their story. I the f it ends as a cliffhanger or the H and h not being happy, I will never read another book by this author. I gave the book 4 stars but would give Book 3 a 5 if it ends well. If not, it will get a 3. Book could use some more editing word "conscious" always used when the author meant "conscience". I'm surprised editors didn't catch that since it happened every time.
WOW!! Another GREAT book in "The Prodigy Slave Series". I have found myself staying up way too late the last two nights reading, just to see what happens next. London Skye writes with great character depth and development. This book has murder, mystery, sex, romance, and keeps you reading and rooting for the main characters in the story. Book two starts where book one left off so we find out who was first murdered at the very beginning. There is a cliff hanger and excitement up until the very last page that makes you want to start reading book 3 immediately, to see what happens to Lily and James. I know not to start book three tonight, as it is 4 am, and the books are so good, I will read through the night.
The 2nd book was better than the first I couldn’t put it down. I loved how James fought for Lily’s forgiveness and that he would do anything to prove his love for her. Once she finally forgave him and decided to keep the baby I was thinking finally a break through. When they decided to get married I was so nervous for them the whole time leading up to the wedding. I didn’t think it would happen I felt like they let their guard down so many times but it happened.
But nothing last forever that conniving witch Mary Jo, and Jesse, Elijah, Jacob and JR just had to ruin their plans of running away but it’s not over until it’s over. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I love James and the way he’s proven he’ll do anything for lily.
Every written word of this was history even though this book is fiction the story is based on historical truth of what had or would have happened during slavery in regards to interracial relationships. Each chapter of the book provided the slave codes which was truth which made this book a historical masterpiece. I was very caught up deeply into the story line and can’t wait to get the last copy for the ending. I hope that the author writes this up as a film script for a movie. It would do very well with several episodes to it. “Bravo Magnificent” to the author London Sky. “Please keep more books coming.”
I read Book One and understood the explicit sex scene between James and Lily. There was a natural build to it. I was so disheartened when James didn't stand up to his father when he confiscated her at her concert. When you introduced a sex scene between James and MJ, I couldn't continue any longer. I see where this is going. MJ will blackmail him into marrying her. I'm so disappointed you chose this direction for an otherwise well written and captivating story.
While the storyline was believable, the sex scenes were to descriptive, too many and pornographic. I found myself flipping as many as 10 pages at a time to avoid them. I really want to know the outcome of this saga. I hope book 3 is better.
Suspense! Action! Romance! Sadness! This book got it all! Keeps you on the edge! Couldnt stop reading it! Can't wait to start reading Book 3 ! Lily and James got to find peace and live happily ever lasting!
This story of James and lily held my attention. It madeleines me cry, laugh and scared all the while eagerly waiting to get to the next chapter to see what’s going to happen.
Nowhere near as good as the first. Mostly flashbacks to book 1 and enormously long and tedious sex scenes. When I finished the book, I discovered I had to read volume 3 to find out what happened next on this wild goose chase. I found myself skipping huge passages.
I'm having a hard time getting thru this book . I take a break and then come back to it . To me there is too much suffering for Lily because of other people . I am having a hard time .

Best Historical Romance - Worth the read. ALL THREE BOOKS!
I have read many books. This series is by far one of the best retelling I have read. The characters were realistic, the setting was true to the period. Great job.
Book one excellent lead into this trilogy. Book two extremely historical , took longer to get through but nevertheless interestingly good. On to book three!
Yeah too much sex for a slave and her like love. Considering all other things going on in their life just seemed like too much. However I'm sure a little one will be coming behind it.
I love IR Historicals. I felt thus story was very well written and it kept me wanting more. I had to give it 5 Star. James and Lily's story is quite powerful and heart wrenching but it shows a determination to work at defying all odds of racism that has been laid as a deterrent and trap against them along Loves' Rough road, especially when you "Grow" in love with someone 1900th century society says is taboo and illegal to love, befriend or even marry. I hope all the people who stand in their way get their comeuppance. Something should be set in place for Jesse, JC, Jacob and that murderous Wacko, Mary Jane.
A great addition to the series, the amount of action and tragedy is enough to bring tears. I didn't quite understand why James chose to join the war, as I saw it caused delay in rescuing Lily. I did, however, begin to develop a better understanding when he was jailed. The easiest way to change the law was to fight for the side that creates law. Due to the graphic scenes of violence, I would not recommend this for children.
Besides poor editing the only good parts are when MJ pushes Julia off the train and the ending. A slave and master getting married in the middle of the woods in Virginia with over a dozen out of town attendees some black. Impossible especially if the town is small strangers stick out and no free person would risk it because even with papers they could be enslaved again. Apparently the author skipped that part in history class.
