Ankia &Kadeem was dealing with the loss of their good friend Drake. In the end what I take from this book Drake knew exactly what he was doing. I’m glad Ankia got it together because sis was working my darn nerves. I totally get why Kadeem gave her space
This was cute, but I didn't really believe the bond these two supposedly had. I can deal with instalove, but I got to believe that shit.
So they both got a letter from the father of a mutual friend, Drake, who passed away. They show up to a cabin, not knowing they will be sharing a cabin. They have a list of things to do together, and from what I read (which maybe I missed some shit) Anika ASSUMED it was a list of things he wanted to do or did the last time he was at that spot with his family. So it was Drakes bucket list, but I don't think that was ever confirmed; we're never told what the letter said.
Kadeem seems to be enamored with her from the start. And she's attracted to him, but she don't want to give in to her attraction because she feels like it's betraying Drake. 1, because she feels like he wanted his two best friends to have these experiences for him (impossible...he's dead), and sex with Kadeem ain't part of it, and 2, because she's been in love with Drake, her best friend, for TEN YEARS!!! How did 3 days, a short note, and a conversation where Kadeem informs Anika that he's coming to see her turn into a relationship and being in love? I just didn't feel the chemistry.
The story was cute. I like the idea of Drake being intuitive enough before his death to think the two of them would be good together. It seems strange that they had only heard of one another and never met or even spoken, being that they were both so close to him. We didn't get any information on the relationship between Drake and Kadeem, and it was speculated that Drake kind of hooked them up. It would have been nice if after they got together the father had a letter from Drake with his last words to them, or something that would have made him to be more than just the thing the story needed in order to force them together. I don't know.

Ms. Wilson, I love the plot of this novella. You took a major death between three best friends and created a new life for two of them. You pretty much made a rose grow through concrete. Drake knew exactly what he was doing from the grave or heaven however a person look at it. I love how Kadeem started using "baby" as a word of endearment shortly after he met Anika. It was if his soul already knew it has met its mate and had to put a claim on Anika. Kadeem's sweet spirit was felt by me because although they both were grieving he made sure to be there for Anika. He would check in and repeatedly ask what was on her mind. He could feel her sorrow and that she was withholding things she should just let him know about. My heart dropped when she said she grew up with a grieving father. 😔 I was glad when Anika realized he was her "one." His deep feelings developed over the weekend planned by Drake.
This is one of those reads where you going to get emotional. You feel the grief the characters are going through. It is still a magnificent read. The only reservation I had was the cause of Drake's death. All three friends were fairly young and his death rocked their lives. I was glad that Anika realized that Elle wasn't a true friend. She was all about herself. This is another great work of art added to Ms. Wilson's portfolio. I highly suggest you grab your copy and relish it.
Queen A.S. gave us a lot in this novella. Kadeem & Anika were biased with Love From Beyond by their best friend Drake. He gave them something that they both needed but were to afraid to seek it on their own. The cabin in the mountains was the perfect set up a long with the activities. Although I understood why Kadeem left, I was pissed he did a second time.
Her friend Elle, granted she gave some valid points but she was selfish. She never took the time to ask Anika how she felt or what she wanted to do.
I was happy Anika took the keep of faith and flew to get her ma, after Elle and her big mouth ruined what started of as a perfect night. He was not expecting her but he was overjoyed she came to him, to claim him. Them back shots😜💦. We got a perfect ending to an unexpected love💞
Love Kadeem and Anika. Their story was sweet and romantic. Kadeem was patient with Anika, no matter how much it broke his heart to be away from her. I think Anika learned a lot from Kadeem and was able to pull out her inner strength and fearlessness with his help. I wish we could have read the letters Drake sent them that put them on the path to each other. Also, I wish there was a third letter somewhere to explain exactly what Drake's intentions were or why he thought these two would be perfect for each other.
Your heart goes out to Anika, as you could feel her pain. Her wanting to fulfill all his wishes, although she was grieving, showed how much she cared for her friend. Kadeem, also wanting to follow through on the wishes, had his heart opened in the process. It was sweet how they found love in the mist of grief. I enjoyed the read, but felt like not getting more information and back story on Drake, kind of took away from it a bit. 👍👍
Love from beyond was the perfect title for this love story. Anika and Kadeem we’re definitely matched from heaven, by their friend Drake. That was a cute plot-twist to this story. Kadeem was all in and very quickly but it took Anika some time to allow her feelings for Kadeem to flourish. It was like she had a weird sense of loyalty to Drake.. but when she gave in, it was beautiful to read. I liked this story a ton; it was short and to the point. Good work!
Kadeem and Anika forced together to grieve loss of their best friend in common, fall in love. it is that simple and yet so sweet and beautiful. I enjoyed this quick read. I really enjoy this authors ability to make you visulize scenery. This was an easy read.
This was a different approach to a love story. Instead of friends to lovers...this was a deceased friend who brought his friends together from beyond to be lovers. The transition was tough as they were both dealing with the grief and the attraction they have for each other. I would love to hear more about this couple but I enjoyed the read.
What a way to be loved. Drake saw what he needed in both friends to know that they belonged together. I think the must critical thing in a relationship is communication.
I loved that fact that Anika didn't allow her fear of flying, make her lose out on a love for a lifetime.
I"be learned selfish people will weed themselves out your life without you having too.
This book was everything and I felt the emotion anika was feeling her friend!! And here come Kareem knocking down those walls and I love what they did for their friend!! Not going to say much but read it!!!!!
Sometimes love comes in different forms. It can be a best friend, a lover or a stranger. For these 2 People love came to them from a common friend. They grieved together, they laughed together and they loved together.
This story was so sweet and made me tear up at the end. The love that developed between Kadeem and Anika was well paced and the mutual love they had for their friend Drake was moving. I loved it.
Anika and Kadeem ❤❤ Be still my heart! Through tragedy they found their way to each other, to true love, to finding their ONE! Their love was meant to be thanks to Drake... This was such a precious story, I loved it!
Really liked the notion of Drake bringing Anika and Kadeem together from the beyond. Also liked Kadeem giving Anika the space to come to her own realizations about what she wanted. Cute story!
Anika’s character was a turn off. I personally did not start to be okay with her until the epilogue of the book. Anima was just top plain ole scared of everything. I know that she was grieving but she was so aggravating with it.
The story was quite lovely with two warm and fuzzy people whom I adored. The way Kadeem and Anika came together was meant to be. Their friend Drake's unexpected death brought them to a place to mourn his passing and to remember him. What actually happened between them was a nice move. I liked their outcome. Anika's so-called friend Elle was a pure witch. I'm glad she only had limited parts in this story. Kadeem and Anika's relationship situation was a nice transition from distant acquaintances to love interest.
The story of Anika and Kadeem is an unexpected journey, but brought together through grief. Both losing their bestfriend and on a mission to fulfill his last wishes. I truly felt Anika’s pain as she mourn Drake, but she’s a prime example that you should tell the people you love you love them before it’s too late. I get why she was hesitant in loving Kadeem and honestly I thought it was too soon for her to jump into another situations, but Kadeem wanted nothing but the best for her. He was extremely patient with her and wasn’t pushy, giving her time to make up her mind. Even though she decided that time was something that she didn’t need. Ole’ girl hopped her tail on a plane and went after her man. Overall good story. Wouldn’t mind reading more of Kadeem and Anika!
