“Are you always like this?” The junkie asks curiously, setting down her fork again.“How do you mean?” Her brown eyes are like warm syrup, and soft with emotion as she watches me. The dumb junkie puts her heart out there for anyone to come along to break. I spear a piece of chicken with my fork and hold it to her strange, hundred-dollar lips. She takes it and chews. “I don’t know…” She begins. The poor, church mouse is about to say something offensive again. “Like this.” Her hands extend toward me as she speaks with food in her mouth. Low class. “The way you walk, the way you talk, the way you dress. You’re so formal and stuffy. You talk like a vampire. It’s sexy, but you aren’t a nice person, Dorien.”That puts a smile on my lips. It is one of the kinder ways that someone has described me. “You are in my house eating my food. I am nice enough.”Warning. Fixx is an Untamed production. This novel contains adult situations and themes that some will find offensive. Your discretion is advised.

This is trash. That is about all there is to this book.

That is one of the worst books to ever be written. One thing about this author is worth mentioning - weak plots, convoluted sentence structure, and undeveloped characters.

There is no clear direction of what the book is trying to convey. Reading it is like listening to a kindergarten student describe his day. You’re constantly told what was happening, not shown. And, in some instances, word choices are awkward and clumsy, resulting in further confusion.

This was a mediocre tale with tedious characters, a far from realistic romance, and a non-existent plot. Despite this trashy story's frantic pace and lack of grasp of how two toxic people fell for each other, there is no understanding of their chemistry.

Having read this book, I regret it deeply. There was nothing good about it. There is no storyline in this book, and what little plot there is isn't worth a scrap of dirt under one's shoe.

Neither the character's inner nor outer dialog made sense to me, it didn't sound like something someone would actually say. He frequently made incoherent remarks or just wasn't very good at doing so.

Certain things I can get past and one of those things is the glamorization of toxic behavior. Even though this is what has become the norm these days, it doesn't mean anyone can pull off such a feat.

Well, it's evident that this author hasn't captured her talent as a writer very well. In my opinion, this book was a total waste of time and I thought the portrayal of a toxic relationship was way off the mark and her attempts to frame the dangers of this destructive relationship were extremely poorly written.

Throughout the book I found myself wondering just "what in the hell she was trying to say." My forehead is sure to have some frown lines from all the times my face was frowning in confusion, disgust, and just plain frustration.

Disappointment is not a strong enough word to describe my feelings after reading this.... Horrendous book.

This book, even if free, would not be something I would recommend to anyone.

Did I read the same book as everyone else?

This is terrible. From beginning to end this book is a mess.

I hate not finishing books and I was hoping that maybe it would magically get better. Hard no.

Again did I read the same book as everyone else?!?!? 0 stars

Every once in a while, a person comes along and changes the trajectory of our lives. In this case, Dorien sees Nallah at an AA meeting, and she is a mess. He's always paid attention to everything and everyone. Nallah has just gotten out of the hospital and back into society, set up to fail yet again. She's astute in her assessment of Dorien and he's intrigued. So much so that he decides to help her get herself together. Meeting his circle is disheartening for her. She discovers they're almost all bigots. This includes his mother. Dorien is a womanizer who has never been faithful to anyone. This is a journey of true love, acceptance, betrayal, hatred, redemption, and justice. It is excellently written and page turning genius.

I was hooked

Ballad was the junkie, but it was Dorien Prince who was addict! From the moment he met Nallah, Dorien was a goner. Jan Jan is a talented author and I can’t get enough of her work.

Another page turner from the House of JanJan

Whew chile?! If got one chance to get into a book and give some characters a beat down, I'd use it to deal with Dorien Prince and some of his toxic AF friends and family.

5 stars for Fixx because the story kept me hooked from beginning to end... while I was wishing I could jump into the story myself and host an INTERVENTION!

JANJAN UNTAMED has me combing through a book looking for the status and welfare of a house plant 🤯

As with all books from House of Untamed, we know there is going to be a HEA at the end, but we read practically the *entire* book wondering how the author will provide a satisfying conclusion to what looks like roller-coaster ride destined to end as a train wreck! But, JanJan delivers, as always.

I recommend this book wholeheartedly. CAUTION: Must keep your THICKEST skin on for the duration of this read.

Cheers!

Wow!

This was another great read by JanJan. The story was about addiction and Redemption. How true love can change a person. I would recommend this book.

Fixx

Recommemded by Unique Words LLC: This book was not what I expected. I don't even know what I expected but it wasn't this. This book has potential but the it fell real flat. The story follows Dorien Prince and Nallah both are addicts that use different highs.
What I thought were cons:
1. Dorien who I'm just assuming is supposed to be an Alpha. Well he is an a$$ with not that many redeeming qualities.
2. The story is told through the lens of Dorien who is downright degrading to a woman he claims to love.
3. Dorien is fickle and impulsive.
4. I actually really like the character of Nallah. Yea she might be a recovering addict but I felt there was more to her. The author did Nallah journey wrong. Again not being able to see from Nallah side stunted the book IMO. Dorien is flawed as hell and his views on women in general are again downright degrading.
5. The book is titled "Fixx" but there wasn't a whole lot of character growth if you ask me.

My last thoughts as I finished this read is one Nallah ended up with the wrong man. Two did the author even like her own female character? Cause I felt the whole book was allow ppl to sh$t on my female character even the man I wrote for her.

Lost its way

Had an interesting plot, good writing with different ,flawed characters but half of the book was good ,showed the growth and progression of the characters love story however after they got together about 1/4 in the book

the rest of the book is just a recycle of them hurting each other ,misunderstandings, breaking up ,abusive stuff ,sleeping with other people or thinking they’re sleeping with other people , leaving, getting back together, it became stupid

This author repeated the same narrative of how much he loves her and how they will be together forever ad nauseam that i had to skip pages
Which i also did for the constant sex scenes
SPOILER !! there is some disturbing sex scenes on their honeymoon that was pure nasty pornography
Wwm, mm sex not my liking and should have had a warning! Let readers choose if they want to read that kind of thing!

Book became preachy about racism, social justice though true ,it became unfair that every rich person or republicans or anyone in the bible belt was a racist, you lost me with your overreach

Fixx by JanJan Untamed, a dark romance, is absolutely teeming with snide and toxic humor, relationship “don’ts” and a love journey that is so dysfunctional that all participants should be placed in extensive couples, individual AND family therapy. However, for all the narcissistic actions from the MMC and the sad apathy of the MFC, I was entertained, amused and at points in the story touched by the raw emotions of the characters. Dorien Prince (his actions are not prince-like, but he is as wealthy as one) attends recovery meetings even though he is not in recovery. He sticks out like a gloriously dressed, incredibly handsome sore thumb. Against common sense, societal expectations and his own inclinations, Dorien decides to sponsor, house and rehabilitate Nallah, perhaps the most damaged person he encounters at the meetings he attends. Dorien describes Nallah as an “old train that derails more than occasionally”, this observation certainly pinpoints their relationship…a series of train wrecks on giddy hairpin curves, some progress is made by the couple before the brakes or the wheels or the locomotive fails. AGAIN. This story is lengthy and filled with memorable characters…most of them firmly against Dorien’s unexpected love for Nallah. One notable exception is Goldie, I am going to have to read the Butcher of Beaumont to see if Goldie is one of his descendants. I am glad I took this raucous ride with Dorien and Nallah, Dorien was childish, kind of fickle and so conceited… but he grew on me.

Lord what a Pair these two are

How many people do you know go to Rehab meetings with a condensing attitude along with thinking he is God's gift to woman.

Well folks Meet Dorien Prince. Rich, Sinfully Gorgeous, and he knows it.

Then we have Nellah.

A junkie in rehab, trying to live day by day.

One glance was all it took for these two different people to fall in love.

The cultural difference between those didn't matter. Dorien love him some Nellah, rather she was a junkie or just an average Joe.

They were Iike night and day. But they did say opposite does Attract..

These twowere polar opposite of each other but they managed despite all those that were trying to tear them apart.

Despite his mothers meddling, and what society dictates. Dorien and Nellah finds comfort in thier love.

Their story is a journey of passionate love, hatred, acceptance, betrayal, redemption, and justice.

My girl JanJan continues to excell in whatever she does, and I can't wait until "Dirty White Boy " and her other remarkable books come out.

WOW

Who reads a 500+ pages book but still didn’t want the story to end? Yep that’s me!!
This is my first time reading Jan Jan Untamed’s work and there wasn’t a minute in which I felt like taking a break from this book.
Jan Jan wrote a book that tore a lot of emotions from from you and paints a clear picture that people aren’t always happy with their lives.
I’m not usually a fan of reading one person’s POV in a novel but in Fixx I wasn’t even bothered by that fact. There was just something so enchanting about this book tbh.
Now there were moments where Dorien and his gang annoyed the life out of me but he caught himself really quickly. As for Nallah, I loved her strength and courage and kind hearted nature. Dorien and Nallah were the perfect mismatched couple.
All in all I was happy for the way things ended. This book deserves more than 5 stars. It’s a must read and I’ll definitely be looking into more of JanJan Untamed’s work

Damn Dore!!!

Not what I was expecting and looking for! I loved the flow from the male character. It was different and the story its self is something I’ve never would’ve read, but damn Janjan and her writing had me hooked when Nallah was introduced. I was like ok, how are you going to make me like this character? People may have their own opinions about her, shoot I did. But I kept on remembering what she is/or was and had been through and what that can do to someone’s self worth. I can understand the doubt, the weakness on certain subjects of Nallah, but the end of the day she is strong for being a survivor of addiction. Good read and bravo to Janjan!!!

This one touch my heart. The same as all the others.

Their is something about this author's story telling that always hits me inside of my soul. I'm talking about soulful, anguish, beautifully, written stories. The kind of stories that are truly like no other. And "Fixed," is another one of her novels that wrote words inside of my soul. I don't give spoilers. But trust me when I say if you want a romance that is not ordinary, a read that is so different you will find it exceptionally refreshing, well this is the story for you. I highly recommend. Be prepared to be blown away with every emotion one can feel while indulging in a great read. ENJOY!

Nallah is all that and more

Nallah went through it but she soldiers against every boulders. Dorien is a womanizing ass but his love for Nallah is written fluidly. When I tell you I HATE cheating but the authors writing is so good that you read and experience the pain, love, ultimatums etc, you become a fan. I almost did not read this book because a reviewer said the H asked for an open marriage. He did NOT. Nallah was being realistic and spoke in fear and pain. I cried like a baby about Lucas and Midge. Golden is the ish and Sunny gots my heart. This is a great book. Dorien is vain as hell. The take on racism was on point and the growth from Dorien was great.

I'm giving this book a 4.5 because of the first half of the book, especially the first couple of chapters. I absolutely loved the denial of the hero's growing feelings for the heroine and how he cared for her, despite him being a jerk to others. That's what roped me in tbh. The second half of the book was largely unnecessary but I scaled through regardless because somehow the author did not ruin the characters despite their fuckups. She very nearly did but didn't drag it or maybe I'm just biased lol. All the main characters are absolutely nuts. Anyway I loved this book. This is 4th book by this Author. i love her eponymous style of writing - *untamed*

I have no words, really!!! Wow?

Ok. This book was another amazing ride. It really picked up for me to the point where I couldn't put it down. Dorian and Nallah have a special place in my heart. It had its unexpected sad moments, but things come together nicely. This also wasn't as emotionally draining for me (thanks for the break) as other JJU projects, but it was still just as riveting.

I applaud this ENTIRE book

This is one of my favorites. Both characters were the right amount of messed up, the right of amount of chaotic, th right amount of insane the made them the right amount of perfect. I was upset at the end to find out my favorite supporting character to love dies. It made the ending bittersweet. This read so raw and real. The flaws on display made you laugh, cry, it disgust me and inspired me. Bravo!

I just spent my entire day reading this amazing book by @janjanuntamed

It has been a while since a book has kept me capitvated and on the edge of my seat. The characters are imperfect with a desire to do better and be better. This book is about loving someone entirely regardless of thier flaws, mistakes and defects.

**There are some triggers with subjects such as child abuse, sexual assault, drug use and domestic violence**

I had mixed emotions at the onset but changed my tune around the middle and appreciated the story until it ended.
Reading about privilege and interracial relationships hasn't changed my viewpoints on racial inequality. Don't get it twisted. I just enjoyed reading this f#cked up story and found the ending fulfilling.

Another Wow!!!

This book was like binge watching your favorite Netflix show. Her usually romance, sex and grit is here in the story of Nallah and Dorian. He thought he was fixing Nallah but he was more damaged. I read 566 pages in one day. I could not put this down.
