His prison sentence was supposed to end when the magic keeping the Dark Fae captive in Myrkur finally fell. But when King Egan’s army clashed with the armies of Iskalt and Fargelsi on the battlefield, there was no winner and no clear path forward.
Now the Dark Fae king is missing, vanished without a trace of the army at his back or the abducted child leading him to the prize he desires. The magic held in Aghadoon.
With no way to locate the forever moving village, Griffin can only set his sights on a more attainable goal—saving Eldur from the coming invasion. The desert kingdom is Egan’s next target and there is no magic strong enough to stop him.
Until now.
Joining forces with people who do not trust him may prove foolish.
Allying himself with the ones he isn’t allowed to love brings unimaginable pain.
Yet, with Riona and Gulliver by his side, Griffin can handle the unwanted magic that has returned to haunt him, the brother who hates him, and the questions with answers that could change everything.
But none of that will matter if Egan isn’t stopped, because now, it isn’t only the fae realm in danger of succumbing to his darkness, but the human realm as well.
As Griffin begins to lose hope that he can save his family and earn their trust again, he starts to wonder…
Will he ever truly be free?
Fae's Promise is the sixth book in the Queens of the Fae series featuring fae out for redemption, others desiring revenge, and an entire world that desperately needs to remember the things that have been lost to magic.
Melissa A. Craven (the "A" stands for Ann—in case you were wondering) was born near Atlanta, Georgia, but moved to Cleveland, Ohio at the age of seventeen. She still thinks of Cleveland as home, so it was only natural for Emerge to take place there. Today, she is back in Atlanta—for some reason she can't seem to stay away from the ungodly heat that makes her long for things like "lake effect snow" and wind that will knock you flat. Melissa decided a long time ago that the “life checklist” everyone else was clutching so tightly in their fists, just wasn’t for her. She does everything backwards because she is weird like that, but then, she is an artist and artists are notoriously "unique" and "quirky." She is an avid student of art and design, and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of West Georgia in 2009. She worked as an interior designer for several years, but she's always thought she might like to be a writer when she grows up. In her spare time, if she has any, she enjoys shopping for derelict furniture she refinishes to exercise the interior design part of her brain.
I really feel like I can't say this enough... READ THIS SERIES!!
Within this book, we follow Griffin's journey back to redemption. After the twins are stolen by his uncle and everything is left in darkness, Griffin must protect those that are important to him. But of course, not everything is as it seems when searching for answers. Lead after lead, they're left with nothing but questions. After a break within the case, Griffin's journey becomes not one only for himself but for everyone else.
This novel is action-packed with just the right amount of mystery and fantasy to have you hooked. I don't think I have read a series faster than I have burned through this one. I am honestly extremely excited to see how everyone's story will fit together now...
What an epic conclusion to Griff's story! A very well-written storyline with fantastically well-developed characters. There is plenty of action, loads of emotion, magic, and romance. we get the answers we want, it's all delivered perfectly, and it will leave you grinning like a fool!
This is a fantasy adventure that draws the reader into the story and is hard to put down. I was so happy to see the development throughout the series of characters' moral codes. I loved that not everything was as it seemed and it really kept you on your toes.
The descriptions are so well laid out and developed that it's an easy book to visualize. I highly recommend this book to all fans of YA fantasy, magic, faeries, and good vs bad. This truly is a book written for everyone to enjoy!!
Ok, This book was the perfect ending to a super awesome trilogy! I have to say when I first heard the authors were going to write a series about a sort of villain character, whom I didn't really like, I was wondering what I would think of it. Well, I love it! Fae's Promise was an exciting adventure and I love all the characters! Yes, even the character I was weary of! All of the characters went through so much growth throughout all three books and book three did such a great job of really pulling everything together and not leaving the reader with any loose ends. This was a great read, I know it will be enjoyed by all who read it.
Well, this was a perfect ending to the trilogy! I think I've managed to fall in love with every single character by now! Well, except for one or two... They all have their own personalities and growth, and I will miss them terribly, as well as the fae realms. If you love fantasy, adventure, characters that develop, great world building, and a little bit of romance - this is a series for you!
*I received an ARC from the authors, but my review is voluntary and honest.*
I loved this series. Its a young adult series, but its so addictive. Griffin is by far my main man in this series:) He goes from horrible to down right loveable. He redeems himself so well.
What an epic conclusion! I have loved this series from the start with its exciting storyline , passion, intrigue and the characters are simply amazing! There’s action and battles scenes and the world that has been created draws you in so much so that you feel as if you are actually there. Griffin’s journey is coming to an end and questions are answered and I like a series that doesn’t leave you hanging and gives you all the answers. A must read!
Wonderful as always. M. Lynn creates such vivid and magical worlds that just take you away. The journey that Griff has been through is coming to a close, and he is fighting for everyone to come out alive. All of the characters in this book have grown so much, from learn to love, to fighting for whats right, to learn that we can all change for the better. This book was an absolutely beautiful read. The bonus chapters were the icing on the cake.
Fantastic end to Griff's story. I loved that the battle was drawn out and not quickly done. They had to really work through the smaller battles to get to the big one. Enjoyed seeing everyone working together and also working through their personal issues. Would love to read grown-up Tia and Toby's stories.
‘We are so not in Kansas anymore’ With family ties torn apart yet again and fae fighting fae, it’s no wonder that the human realm has darkened beyond recognition. Choices have consequences – many are so far-reaching or far-fetched that we don’t realize what they might be until they’ve already happened.
That’s why the characters need to exercise caution and heed warnings regarding what to do with the book that ‘breaks all the rules’. Especially when ‘the book cannot be trusted when its source is unknown. We don’t know who created it or why.’ This brings up the topic of agendas and censorship, but I’ll leave that discussion for the Fae realms.
One of the minor characters admitted to knowing somebody was unstable yet did nothing to help out. IRL, don’t turn a blind eye to mental illnesses. When people are having difficulties and/or are hurting others, say something to get them the relevant help.
Fave quotes: ‘Find the beauty in everything’ ‘I’ve learned much from observing among the shadows.’ ‘There’s not much that can prepare you for what battle is truly like.’
Now on to Fae’s Rebellion then Fae’s Refuge and Fae’s Return. I already have Fae’s End, which releases after the beginning of May.
This last book explores the evolving relationships between the main characters and reconciles each journey of self discovery throughout the series. Even Lochlan finally melts a little and becomes less of the iceman and more forgiving. Griffin has the biggest arc of all and although he has a couple of minor slips along the way he puts his family first and power no longer has a hold on him. Riona is an important part of his change as she is his mirror and shows him who he used to be. He wants to be so much more than that now and his struggle to change is enlightening and in turn Riona for the first time sees that there may be a way out. Hope is a dangerous thing, great ending and I like the bonus chapters at the end
I wanted to finish the story from the first trilogy but the children were almost unbearable. I’m not sure what kind of kids the author has been around to think it’s okay to let a kid nearly kill someone repeatedly or having so many children constantly not following rules, but the entire story is based on three of the children never listening to their parents and always putting themselves and others in danger, and then the adults are okay with that. It’s absolutely insane. I know it’s a fantasy story but it makes all of the characters immensely unlikeable for their actions.
In this one, they are still trying to defeat the evil king. However, there is very little of him in this book. It seems to focus more on the library and all the magic it contains. It goes through lists and lists of different spells/magic, but never really finding one to help their cause.
By the end of the book, there are only two things that are left unexplained... how Riona knew who Neeve’s real parents are, and why the rift between world couldn’t be sealed or fixed.
This is a series I would recommend to anyone. I definitely judged this series by the first book way too quickly.
Rating: 5⭐ PG-16 STOP!!! First off im so glad that i kept listening this 1st book. I review Audiobooks daily so when this book started (it started with prologue) i just wasn't feeling it BUT I was busy doing something else so I decided just to let it play and then when I had a chance I would find a different series.NOPE... I'm SOOOOO glad I didnt....this ended up begin 1 of my favorite Book Series. It contains Everything a Great Series needs to make you want more. I just finished Book Six of the series and im about to check out more books from these two Authors (M. Lynn and Melissa Craven).Lv it. Mrs.C💋
OMG This series just gets better with each book. I just can't wait to see what secrets are revealed in each one. I am also in love with Gulliver. He is such a great character who can make you laugh with his antics and is also the best medicine for Griffin. This story brought war so also very sad in parts. Riona is certainly an interesting character as well. Her Tattoos brought an interesting look for her since she was such a warrior. I can't wait to see what book 7 brings. This is one you should listen to because the narrator is amazing. Great series.
Striving to make a difference. Righting past wrongs. Promises, promises. Destiny...choose own path.
Loch's story concludes in this third installment of the second trilogy in the overall Queens of the Fae series. Bonded together to fight a common enemy. Redemption, forgiveness, togetherness, family, and hope are the prevailing characteristics in this book. It's filled with strong characters who show tremendous growth within a detailed world setting.
"War was coming for them all." "We are who we choose to be."
Excellent ending to this series. I loved this story of redemption and triumph of good versus evil. I especially loved the way a couple of characters turned their lives around by choosing to be good. This was very well written with characters I came to love. The world building was so good I could visualize the different places. Highly recommend this series and it's predecessor, Queens of the Fae.
The final book in Griff's story won't disappoint you! A story about how family isn't always about the ones you share blood with and freedom to choose is worth trying for. Thank you ladies for giving us Griff's story and teaching us it's ok to except second chances!
This series was great. I loved the world created in the story, the redemption aspect reminding us all no one is one dimensional, we all have good and bad in us and we can choose our path. I also loved that the book honored the strength in the children in the story, too often we underestimate the strength and wisdom that the innocence of childhood can lend to us with our arrogance of experience.
I enjoyed this 'almost' last book. ☺️ This book has a lot of action and our characters become their best selves. There were many moments that are made to keep you guessing. A very satisfying end to the series.
(Except apparently we get a peek at Tia's grown up life in Fae's Rebellion coming out in December. )
This series is awesome. I would recommend it to anyone. I have grown to love all the characters. I do hope you enjoy the book and series as much as I have. I don't tell what is in the books I read. That is for you to read and find out. But you must read this book and the Bonus Chapters. I cried like some people do at these. Off to the next book in the series.
Anything can become an obsession. One of the most dangerous, most volatile obsession is of power. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Egan and Enis were corrupted by the power they held and the power they desired. Leaders from all four kingdoms had to ban together to overthrow those who chose oppression over freedom.
Every single book lives up to the one before. This series is so much fun and exciting to read. I can't wait to see what is next. I love the new characters that get brought in with each book and new magic as well.
This is just a good solid story. I enjoyed reading it and truly had trouble putting it down sometimes. Take a chance. For me the story continues on in the next generation. I will continue on as well. Enjoy.
