The Night Stalker Rescue

Rate this book
When a helicopter from an elite special operations unit is shot down, the pilot has only one hope: a covert team of CIA assassins.

It wasn’t supposed to be a rescue mission.

David Rivers and his team were sent to Jolo Island in the Philippines for one reason: to kill a brutal terrorist leader.

But when their target shoots down a US Army helicopter, David and his men must race to rescue the evading pilot before it’s too late.

Because now the enemy knows the Americans are on the island…and he wants to make sure they die there.

I didn't know when I started this that it was the same David Rivers as in the other series. The Night Stalker by Jason Kasper is a nice introduction int this series and I will definitely read more books from this author.

** Great Start**

This was a great start to a new series “ Shadow Strike”. David Rivers and crew are on a mission in the Philippine islands. They are sent to take out a terrorist leader but the mission is changed when a Little Bird helicopter is shot down. They must rescue the pilots if possible!

I loved this book. Been reading lots of crime/thrillers with a myriad of characters, twists, turns and they were like trying to figure which tree root fed which leaves and supporting branches. Author Kasper has a mission, discusses some of the blocking events, and describes solutions taken from real life black ops experiences running with a minimal cast (Worthy, Ian, Cancer, Suicide) and just lots of realistic action. This particular story was short and like the dessert after a great meal (despite it was the appetizer to a five book dinner). I’m refreshed and ready to take on the Crusader series.
Meant to mention, when the story started and he described the volcanic terrain they were traversing I thought he was going to put them at Lake Taal. It’s a volcano in the Philippines last active five years ago. Jolo is also considered active, but farther South in the chain and on a smaller island. Great to have real locations to relate to. The Night Stalker Rescue: A Shadow Strike Novella, my fifth read from author Jason Kasper. Reminiscent of Tom Clancy & Dan Alatorre's writing, another 108-page page-turning military thriller. "I received a complementary Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author, in fact Narco Assassins: A David Rivers Thriller (Shadow Strike Book 4) is already on my TBR list. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

The Night Stalker Rescue is an action-packed prequel to Jason Kasper’s new series. Along with a very believable CIA op in the southern islands of the Philippines, a Night Stalker helicopter makes for an interesting barrio to completion of their operation. This story kept me on the edge of my seat with its very believable action battle sequences as well as some very accurate naval scenes. This story has me looking forward to the first book in the Shadow Strike series coming in January of 2021.

The Night Stalker. Jason Kasper

A very elite team are in the jungles of the Philippines to take out a terrorist rapidly climbing the food chain of importance. During their mission a small American helicopter is struck by gunfire and crashes. The pilot is killed on on impact but the passenger survives. She is an extremely elite fighter. Their mission has now changed to rescuing her and getting her to safety. This is an extremely fast paced novella which I enjoyed immensely!!

Very suspenseful can't imagine walking let alone crawling in a jungle anywhere.

Worthy proved to be the best point David could have picked. Cancer had been the best sniper, following them through the jungle. When an angel came across their intended roll. Reilly and the rest of the team proved to be the best team in their league.

Brilliant!

The way the author has taken inspiration from his life experiences and molded them into such edge-of-the-seat fiction is amazing. Very fine writing, I must say!

The best way to whet a reader's appetite between finishing the whole American Mercenary series and entering Shadow Strike with a door wide open.

Another brilliant David Rivers story!

This novella is a prequel to "Enemies of my Country." Introduces the characters, and is a good and very quick read. Easily good enough for me to jump into Enemies as soon as I finished this one

A short novella packed action from the beginning. I read the second book of the series unaware of this book. Both were enjoyable.

Solid prelude

Who said that a story had to be long to keep you on the edge of your seat and your breath caught in anticipation, fear, thrill? For this novella was, plain and simply, all that: gripping from start to finish, with the return of David Rivers and his team of men (and gosh, do I love them - please, Jason, please don't kill off any of them!!!), on to take a mission to kill a Philippines-based terrorist, but ending up on a compelling rescue mission, which could well be their end.

A novella which perfectly sets the tone for The Enemies of My Country.

ebook Review - This novella, “The Night Stalker Rescue” by author Jason Kasper was terrific! It’s an action-packed prequel to Kasper’s Shadow Strike series. A Night Stalker helicopter along side a CIA operative in the Philippines is the basis of this enthralling story. Although short in content, Kasper keeps the reader on the edge of their seat with the story’s believable battle sequences and extremely accurate action scenes. You can tell that Kasper did his research. Awesome prequel novella before reading the Shadow Strike series!

A team of soldiers are sent to Jolo Island to execute Kfahalil. a terrorist. When on their mission, a military chopper is shot down. Their mission changes to a rescue mission. They need to get to anyone alive before the terrorists. They have one live pilot to try to save. There is a lot of action and fighting. They are on a small island and need to keep dodging the enemy. Help is on the way if they can get there in time. This is a page turning thriller.
