Pixel Ate is actually a team! We’re a mom and dad, who live in the Pacific Northwest. We have five kids ages 10 all the way down to 1. We don’t like to brag, but we think our kids are pretty great.
We live on a little bit of land that we’re slowly turning into a farm. We like having lots of space outside to run and play and we’re excited to fill it with some animals. Yay for goats!
Everyone in our family loves reading—well, the baby loves chewing on books—so we thought, why not write our own stories? It’s super fun creating worlds and characters and adventures and even more fun when we know other people are enjoying them. Plus, it’s extra special when our kids get to help. We really did have a cat named Bruce Lee the Scar-Faced Ninja Attack Kitty From Japan (Who Smells Like Poop) who got himself into all kinds of sticky situations, but sadly, he is no longer with us. He truly was a great kitty and he truly did fart a lot. Now we have an equally great kitty named Tater Tot and she is a lot less stinky, but just as loved.
It was super fun to keep adventuring and learning about the world of Minecraft with this family of characters. I really appreciated the family dynamics and the interactions between the characters, and the cat continues to be funny comic relief. I won’t give any spoilers, but I loved the things that were revealed in this book that made me want to keep reading more to discover more about the world with the characters. It was cool to see how the different characters helped the family survive in different ways because of their interests, and the ways they teamed up was cool too. OK, enough writing this review it is time to read the next one!
If your kids love Minecraft, then this book is for them! I have been reading these to my kids at bedtime and they love it! The parents knowing nothing about Minecraft and how they act makes my kids love it even more so!
Mom, Dad, Kate, and Jack are trying to adapt to living inside of Minecraft. Kate is bound and determined to get a saddle and her own horse. While trying to get one, they came across an ancient book that gives them hope on how to get back home.
This book has a joke that has become a running gag in my house. I read this book to my 7 year old son one or two chapters at a time. He absolutely loved it! He would always beg for just one more chapter. These are smaller books, but they also come in a 4 pack of ebooks.
