Former FBI-profiler, Eva Rae Thomas is caught off guard by a murderous plan that sends her on a pulse-pounding race against time in this romantic thriller by Willow Rose.
It is a typical Tuesday morning. Scott Benton gets up, kisses his girlfriend Sarah goodbye, and goes to work.
But when he returns home from work later in the afternoon, his girlfriend of two years is gone.
And just like that, Scott’s life is turned upside down.
The police are after him, thinking he hurt her. His friends and family have turned their backs on him, thinking the same. Meanwhile, there is one thing Scott can’t stop thinking about.
Two months ago, Sarah told him that he should go looking for her if she ever turned up missing.
Former FBI-profiler Eva Rae Thomas has enough on her plate as it is: a newborn baby, an upcoming marriage, and a house not big enough to fit them all.
On top of it, she takes in a young girl who is in serious trouble, only adding to the strain on her family life.
When Scott Benton shows up and tells her she’s his only hope in finding his girlfriend, Eva Rae is inclined to say no, but she can’t get herself to do it.
Scott and Eva Rae used to date for a brief period in high school, and Eva Rae isn’t the type of person who can just stop caring about someone.
Especially when they have nowhere else to turn.
As the investigation deepens, Eva Rae Thomas finds out what it is from her past that Sarah was so afraid of, and she’ll need all of her profiling skills in the race against time to find the girl before it is too late.

I just don't like Eva Rae anymore. I loved her in the first couple of books but she is so hot and cold and kinda bitchy. No I don't like Matt but she just had his baby and he proposed to her and now she is kissing some other guy and has feelings for him. I just didn't get into the mystery this time either. it was just blah.Eva Rae just kept annoying me. Bad. Maybe I am in a weird mood but I really didn't like this book as well as some of the others. I hate people fighting and that is all she does is right with people. Oh and did I mention the mystery?!? It was just different. Not my favorite Willow Rose . Maybe my last Eva Rae too.
This book was heading for a 5 star review until the 77percent point until the 81% mark
Who has a heartfelt conversation of regrets, confessions, reassurance and then averts their eyes while the perpetrator of horrible crimes sit unbound 2 feet away
(Here’s my Eva Rae and Matt rant) So one of the reasons I love series on the same character is to watch that character grow and it’s always plus to watch them fall in love and eventually get their happily ever after. I feel like this book series is headed in the direction of game of thrones. Turning the most beloved main character into the villain. I really had high hopes with this book as far as Eva Rae and Matt’s relationship. Since day one Matt has been there for Eva Rae and has saved her time and again. Then that changed in the last book. And I was hoping to see the old Matt. But that didn’t happen. I was hoping at some point Eva Rae would put her children and Matt first as well but that didn’t happen either. There is no way leaving 2 newborns to go help an old flame is ever ok!!! I am just so disappointed with how much of a mess Eva Rae’s life still is after 8 books. Why couldn’t Amy and her newborn go stay with Sydney in their house they have for young girls from the beginning. Matt always backed up Eva Rae even when he didn’t want to. They had a special friendship between them and it really came to look like Matt didn’t even like Eva Rae at all. (I’m still not over the fat comments he made about her while she was pregnant from the last book.)Then for this new guy Scott to come into the picture after I have been a loyal fan of Matt’s is so unfair. Anyway the plot itself was actually pretty good. Sarah is missing and her boyfriend Scott is the main suspect. It was better than the last book and it really kept you wondering until the end. But like I said I really read it just for Eva Rae and Matt’s story. But I was disappointed yet again.
This kindle e-book novel is from my Kindle Unlimited account book 8
Eva Rae and the new baby 🚼have come home. Matt and her are planning a wedding. Then all kinds of strange things start happening leading to the arrest of a killer and finding a friends daughter.
I would recommend this series and author to 👍 readers of romantic family and friends relationships adventure mystery novels 👍🔰. 2024
I keep reading these books, hoping the writer will make the main character more likable but, once again, nope. I get that she’s human &, as humans, we make bad decisions, but Eva Rea does more than make god-awful decisions, she’s just a bad person. Which is interesting since she’s always helping someone out. The way she treats Matt, and leaves her kids... just ick. It’s old & really tasteless. I love a good mystery, but even more than that, so like likable characters I want to keep following. Eva Rae is not that.
A lot was going on in Eva Rae’s life. A baby, planning a wedding. Now she has to help a friend find a disappeared girlfriend. Keeps you guessing as to who really did it. Loads of suspense and fabulous characters to keep you intrigued.
I've read all the books in this series but this will be my last one. One prevailing theme throughout the series is what a horrible mother/fiance Eva Rae is. She only cares about her job - even when her home life is falling apart. Then, taking in another baby while she has her own newborn?? She doesn't give her fiance a say in this and then expects him to drop everything and take care of both babies as well as the four older kids (while the person she is helping is an old fling she clearly still has feelings for!). No wonder they break up! She has no respect for anyone. While I liked the investigations and mystery, Eva's home life has turned me off of the series. I'm amazed I made it this far but I really thought she'd wake up and start being a better person. No such luck.

This book just made Eva Rae seem dysfunctional and out of touch. She was out of control throughout the book. The plot was good and the other characters were well developed. Eva Rae doesn’t seem to be fit to be a mother, wife or anything at this point. The fact that she let the suspect get a jump on her didn’t seem realistic for a trained FBI agent.
Eva Rae has just had her baby and is planning her wedding, but when her high school love shows up at her door begging for her help her life will change in ways she couldn't imagine. Scott Benton got up for work and kissed his girlfriend of two years goodbye, but wen he gets home Sarah has disappeared. The police think he is responsible for her disappearance so he goes to Eva Rae for help in finding out what happened to Sarah. I absolutely love the characters in this book, especially Eva Rae Thomas. They are all well written, and utterly fascinating, even the "bad guy(s)". Fast paced, exciting read with surprising and unexpected twists in the plot, and plenty of suspense that kept me glued to the pages. Fantastic book!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.
Willow Rose is a spectacular author and the latest Eva Rae Thomas mystery is exceptional. Eva Rae is a strong woman who is ready to help anyone who needs her, but he fiancé, Matt thinks she should be at home with her family. I really don't think they should be together. This is another nonstop, action packed mystery and Eva Rae doesn't stop until the mystery is solved to her satisfaction. I would highly recommend anything from Willow Rose. she rites in the style of James Patterson with short chapters that pack a punch.
As a fan of the author i was looking forward to another top notch mystery. This story was a major disappointment for this reader. The mystery storyline was good but this book was undercut by the really bad "romantic" sub plots. Eva Rae abandonment of her children and her disrespectful abuse of her fiance were to much and over the top..
This is the eighth book in the Eva Rae Thomas mystery series by Willow Rose.
The books by Willow Rose are always very complex. And this book is no different. Eva Rae is haunted in this book by her old boyfriend who is implicated in the disappearance of his girlfriend Sarah. This puts further stress on her relationship with Matt. She has a new baby and then ends up having to take care of the baby of one of her daughter’s friends. This is the perfect recipe to blow up her relationship permanently. But knowing how Eva Rae is, she struggles on trying to uncover the truth at the expense of herself and her family.
The secondary storyline is about a therapist who is seeing a couple who are on the verge of breaking up. But this therapist, Lynn finds herself attracted to Jeffrey, the husband. There is a bit of deception going on in the storyline with regards to this plotline and when you get to the end you will truly realize what was really going on that connects this couple to the current plotline. There is always a parallel story running alongside the main story and I try and figure out how it applies to the now timeline and am always surprised by what Willow Rose manages to pull out of her hat and shock us every time.
Such a good story and a great storyteller. Very impressed with this author’s work.
If you love a good mystery, definitely check this one out. Great new must read book great series too!
This book starts out with a bang. A woman receives her favorite flowers and her boyfriend didn't sent them to her. Then she realizes that her house is being cased.
Eva Rae and Matt have a 3 week old baby and the house is stuffed. It appears that Matt and Eva Rae are finally putting their lives ahead of everything else. And then they add more temporary family members to the mix...and then there are a couple of other stories introduced.
Eva Rae can't help but help a friend from high school. Well, maybe he was more than just a friend. And she's helping a friend of her daughter. This book has so much going on. I was trying to find the link between the stories. I thought maybe I had it, but then, at the end, I realized I was wrong. Once again, I'm guessing that no one will figure out the ending in this book.
After spending several books with these characters, I do wish that Eva Rae spent more time with her own family in crisis. None-the-less, I found the book engaging, interesting, and heart thumping.
I recommend this book for mature audiences. I received an ARC copy of this book from the author and this is my honest review.
does Willow ever write a bad book? So far, I would have to say the answer is no. Once again she is at the top of her game with this latest book in the series. Eva‘s life is always a little chaotic, but this time things are taken to a new level. Eva and Matt are trying to survive life with four kids, one being a baby. They all of a sudden find themselves taking care of an additional baby, and trying to solve a kidnapping and prevent a murder. Just a typical day in the life of Eva ray. this is filled with the typical twists and turns that we have come to expect from Willow Rose. You will not be disappointed!
This book is much better than the last two - no gaping plot holes; no unanswered questions. I wasn’t too crazy about Eva Rae in this book - and she sure didn’t come across as a trained FBI Agent - but the writer has to have something break up the couple, then bring them back together, right?
The writer still has a weird way of saying things, such as “a frown grew between her eyes,” - Huh?!?; and everyone continues to have a bad case of flaring nostrils (there are many other ways to show someone is angry); but the story was pretty good.

Eva Rae has solved some great cases but now she is at home, finally with husband Matt and new baby. She gets pulled back into another case when an old flame, Scott, shows up after his girlfriend Sarah goes missing. Eva Rae can't say no, despite this causing issues in her marriage. Read the book to find out the true story behind Sarah's disappearance. It isn't exactly what Scott said. The story gets twisted with some side stories and additional characters adding to it. See how it all comes together. Another great story!
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
Eva Rae just had a baby and is planning her wedding. Her 15 yr old daughter's best friend just had a baby. Her parents kicked her out so Eva Rae has taken them in. Then her boyfriend Scott from high school days came home from work and found his girlfriend has disappeared. He wants Eva Rae to look for her and of course, she can't say no. Is she taking on too much? Her boyfriend Matt thinks so. He is not happy. Will Eva Rae let some things go or will she continue as she has been? How will all this affect their relationship? Characters are fleshed out, and the plot is well thought out. The story is well written. Come along on this ride. The twists and turns will keep you turning pages right to the end. I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the author and I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.
The Eva Rae series has just heated up as she is struggling to be a stay at home Mom even though that is what her fiancé, Matt wants. When an old high school flame asks for her help in finding his girlfriend, proving she can have a career and be a Mom too, Eva Rae can’t refuse him. Fast paced with multiple plot lines, suspense and a great twist, Willow Rose has written another non-stop mystery. I received an ARC from the author. The comments and review are my honest opinion. 4.5 stars.
To Die For is book #8 in the Eva Rae Thomas series. I really got frustrated with Eva Rae in this book. I was very sympathetic with Matt. She never considered his feelings in any decision she made. As her fiancé, he should have been her first priority, which clearly was not the case. That said, I still had to rate the book 5*’s for the drama and suspense, which was heart-pounding There were so many twists and turns, it was hard to keep up! I was clueless till the end. The storyline was off-the-charts with mystery and intrigue. So, now, I’m wondering what’s next with Scott. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and this is my honest review
Ms. Rose is one of my favorite authors, and this book is another gem. She adeptly juggles multiple story lines that kept me engrossed and reading it completely in one sitting. Try as I will, I can never guess the ending, which makes her writing so special. I have to admit that this time, I was a bit frustrated with Eva Rae, because she took on too many causes at the same time and ignored her family responsibilities, including her fiancé, too. Time will tell if she suffers consequences for that. Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed the suspense and always look forward to the next book. I received an ARC – this review is my honest opinion.
Willow Rose has done it again with Eva Rae. The suspense builds until you HAVE to keep reading to find out what happens. And Eva Rae never disappoints with juggling her family while figuring out her case. Keep it up. willow!
Eva just had a baby and became engaged when an old 'friend' asks for her help. His girlfriend is missing. She also is helping one of her daughter's friends...Amy. Amy just gave birth to a baby also and Eva told her that they could come and live with them. Now that is two newborns, and a case to work on. Things get tense, lies are found out, and wait...there's more! But I won't tell you what it is. I read this story in 2 days! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Seems like I was waiting forever for this book to come out. The anticipation was high and Willow Rose did not disappoint! I will anxiously await her next book! Always look forward to Eva
Psychological Thriller! Eva Rae is settling down with her extended family; Not for long, though! Life continues to throw mayhem, violence and terror into her path. A spine-tingling mystery with enough suspects and action to keep you turning those pages! More than one mystery adds an extra chance for you to guess right as to who done it! (Enjoy all Eva's family members; can't help worrying about Elijah.) Great read!
An incredibly fast moving tale of psychological intrigue. People trapped in scary, evil relationships and in great danger both mentally and physically.
Eva Rae Thomas is an ex FBI agent, retired and raising her children. She is planning her wedding, but receives a phone call from an old high school love. Scott asks for her help in finding his girlfriend, Sarah who is missing. This novel has it all, a trusted person who kidnaps and kills and suspense through out. A real page turner.
This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.
Just when I thought Willow Rose had reached, an all time high. Then here comes To Die For. What an awesome book. So full of twist and turns, I had no clue who did it. I love Eva Rae. She is so awesome and you never know what to expect.
