Moms lead busy lives, sometimes overwhelming lives. 5-Minute Devotions for Moms is a book of short devotionals because we all know that some days even 5 minutes is hard to come by for alone time when you have littles. Criswell has crafted a book that will fill the desire for a connection with God even on the busiest of days. I love the real-life examples included in the book, such as comparing ways of delivering a pizza box to ways of communicating with our loved ones.
I love these very short devotionals - a scripture passage and some thoughts from the author. Each devotional ends with an action step such as a prayer, a journal prompt or something to try.
5-Minute Devotions for Moms would make a great Mother’s Day or birthday gift for a busy mom. It would also be a great gift for a baby shower.

I really enjoyed this devotional. It had scripture and relatable stories of motherhood. It was also quick easy to read daily. And lots of nuggets of wisdom.

Days prior to receiving this book for Christmas, my world was spinning in chaos and I was crying out to God to show me what to do, to give me “homework” or “guidance” and this book was just what I needed. Immediately after one passage I became calm and I knew I was sent my prayer for help.
After the title, scripture, and passage there is a little spot to connect what you read. So there is either a “try this today”, “let’s pray”, “let’s talk” and to me that is just the right amount of guidance, connection, and homework I need to have without it being too overwhelming. I feel like I have trouble with finding what to write with open entries, but this one isn’t like that so I enjoyed it very much. This is definitely a book that I will leave by my reading chair.

Review is written before the whole book is completed, but the book is very consistent so I know by the first few entries, that I’ll continue to like the book.
