Fire & Ink: Wolf

Rate this book
WOLF WILD AND EMBER ROSE ARE POLAR OPPOSITES, BUT WHEN THE TWO OF THEM GET TOGETHER IT’S ENOUGH TO START A FIRE.

WOLF:
I’m not looking for anything serious in my life. I have a shop to run, and when it comes to women, anything other than a good time doesn’t fit into my plans. But then I meet her. Ember Rose is exactly the kind of woman that I would normally charm the panties off of, make scream my name all night, and then send on her way come morning. A win-win, right? So why am I wanting something more than that? Why am I wanting to put ink on her skin and then never let her go?

EMBER:
Men are a dime a dozen when you co-own and work in a bar in this city. And men like Wolf Wild are the kind of men that I should avoid for my own sanity. But we keep running into each other. Turns out he’s my neighbor, and he owns the tattoo shop where I’m getting my first ever ink done. And did I mention the chemistry between us is enough to have my panties bursting into flames at the sight of him? A man like Wolf is what I least expected to happen in my life right now. But I’m not the only one doubting our budding relationship. Wolf's family doesn’t think that the maid’s daughter should look above her station and they’re going to do whatever they can to pull us apart. Are we going to go up in flames before we even get started?

Fire & Ink contains strong language, hot and steamy sexual scenes including spanking, and some discussions of past trauma that may be a trigger for some readers. Please do not read if such things offend you.

I live in New Brunswick, Canada with my husband and our two dogs,
Remi and Sako (pronounced Say-co). When I’m not writing, I’m
playing fetch with the dogs, talking to my parents for endless amounts
of hours, annoying the crap out of my husband, or just enjoying life
with my friends.
Writing has been a part of my life since I was about 12. I started
out just writing short stories or silly knock-offs of my favorite shows
or movies. Soon, though, I realized just how much I loved to write.
How often my mind would wander and think of characters and where
they could go. They became real to me, and I would start to write. I
used to fill up notebooks and pads of paper when I got an idea. It
would be an obsession, almost, to get on paper. Then, when I was old
enough to have a computer, I started there.
Now, I’m 28 years old and I finally hit that button. The one that
I’ve thought about it over and over again for the past 16 years. There is
no greater joy, or fear, at realizing you’ve just accomplished something
that you’ve wanted to do for so very long. That is my greatest accomplishment
and I look forward to hitting that button on many more.

Such a great read!

I came across this book by chance and I was seduced by the blurb (at least by the first few sentences that I read 😅) so I had to give it a chance.

To be fair, the plot isn't that original and I expected it to be darker than it is (maybe because I didn't read the whole blurb). It's not like I haven't read something similar to it but I liked it a lot.

What made my enjoy this book so much then? The characters! Every and each one of the characters in this book is just so well written. From the MCs to the chef in the house. Seriously, I don't think I've read a lot of books with such great characters both main and side ones.

I'll definitely read the next books in the series because as I said I loved all the characters and I'm really interested in reading their stories.

If I had to rate only the plot I would have given it 3 stars but because of the characters I'm going to give one more star. 4 ⭐

Wolf Wild meets his new neighbor Ember Rose and knows he wants her, but he is not a man who wans a commitment. When she shows up for a tattoo it becomes a game change though. The more he gets to know his neighbor, the more he questions if she is the one. The only problem in their path though is his callous family who are trying to interfere. Wolf though has his heart set on Ember and he doesn't plan to let her go.

Great beginning to new series. Liked all the characters in this one and had some laugh out loud moments. Terrific chemistry.

This one was slow going for me at first, but with the 1st book of a series and a lot of characters it kinda needed to be. There were a lot of people to get to know, to see their connections and to set up things for later books.

I really liked Wolf and Ember from the start, even though Wolf was a bit of a dick. I would be too, had I been woken out of a deep sleep to pick up by puking drunk brother, so he gets a pass there. I did love how despite how bad things were, he flirted with Ember and how she shot him down. So of course they would end up running into each other again and again. I liked that they didn't jump into anything right away, but played their crazy flirting game and got to know each other and their friends. Yet I was happy when they took the next step, they were good together, each of them just needed to let down their walls.

I was so surprised by each's family. Wolf's came from the bowels of hell, while Ember's was so much fun and loving. I loved the gala at the end, loved how Ember stood up for herself and gave Wolf's family a very well deserved Fuck You! It led to the 2 of them planning their life together surrounded by those that cared about them and left the trash where it belonged.

Ember is a spit fire, and I love her!!! I need everyone else's story now. I need to Nix and Ash together and Piper and Talon. I love the Lincoln family and how much they adore Ember! I wish there would have been more karma for David and Wolf's mom, but I'm hoping there is more in the next book.

Did not work for me. The interactions between the MCs felt forced. Ember Rose, I feel, was a lot. She felt a bit too much.

Poor actions by main male character makes him look like a wimp in my eyes. Poor plot.

The book relies on family attitude for its plot, but tends to go over the top in my opinion. Everything is black or white with no hint of grey when describing characters and their dialogue and I found that hard to swallow.

I didn't particularly like the two main characters of Ember and Wolf. I found the actions when meeting up with his family ridiculous. Knowing how Wolf feels about them and their attitude to Ember, he still goes to lunch with them and other guests. Yet when the humiliation begins,he shows no reaction. His later reasoning about Ember being away from the table for half an hour with his venomous mother struck no warning bells? Poppycock! Absolute poppycock! Wolf would have had his head in his hands if he was my date!

This author needs to up her game and give credible plots. Introducing an MC on top borders on the ridiculous.

Fire & Ink: Wolf

This couple went to heck and back trying to make it, Ember is a no nonsense type of woman who's very sassy. Yes she has her past so does Wolf, they want to give up and keep it easy but that binding love, that gut wrenching I can't live without you love won't let them give up, although they have a long road ahead of them, true love doesn't give up💥☠💥☠

We downloaded this book as we have been sent the next book by the author to read and couldn’t wait to get our hands on it as the covers are hot.

In this book, we meet Wolf Wild a tall, handsome tattoo shop owner and Ember Rose a beautiful red-headed bar owner.
Wolf and Ember meet when Wolf's stepbrother gets drunk in Embers bar and she has to call him to collect his brother in the middle of the night. When they first meet they both find each other attractive. Wolf and his stepbrother are really from different social circles and Wolf has to take his brother back to his apartment because it's so late. In the morning Wolf is woken to voices in his apartment hallway and when he opens the door he’s greeted by his stepfather insulting his new neighbour who he is yet to meet and who just so happens to be Ember who he met at the bar a couple of hours ago.

Ember and Wolf's lust deepens so they decide to date but it's not gone unnoticed by Wolf's mother because she doesn’t think ember is good enough for Wolf.

overall I really enjoyed reading this book it kept me on the edge of my seat at times and also I’m not a very emotional person but this book took me through an emotional rollercoaster and even made me shed a tear, as it drew me in and made me feel the same emotions which the characters were feeling. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to jump into the book Honour and Ink.

Wolf and Ember V World

I've always enjoyed reading books about tatted up men. So to stumble upon Fire & Ink: Wolf was a very pleasant surprise.

I'll first premise this by saying I have a hard time reading books in a series on KU. Usually I'll check out the reviews and be like, "nah." So when I read this book, it sucked me right in.

Wolf was a tattoo artist who spent his days drawing on skin, finding the occasional lover and hanging out with his fellow employees-turned-family. He meets up with Ember when she calls him about picking up someone at her bar that was too drunk to go home. So, off he goes and is instantly attracted to Ember, owner to Ashes and Ember. Coincidentally, she also moves in next door. But life isn't all peaches and sunshine for Wolf... as he deals with a mother, stepfather and half brother all vying to tear him apart. And willing to tear apart anyone who gets close to Wolf... including Ember.

I really enjoyed it. I already finished Talons story, so I'm writing that review next before jumping on Nix's. Too-de-loo, readerrrrs!

Wolf, a talented tattoo artist, has no desires for a relationship. However, when he encounters his new neighbor, he is suddenly interested in more. As co-owner of the new local bar, Ember knows to stay away from men like Wolf. While it is impossible to completely avoid her neighbor, she is surprised to find Wolf owns the very shop she plans on getting her first tattoo at. Although the pair come from very different backgrounds, their chemistry is undeniable. Will they overcome their reluctance towards a relationship or will his family tear them apart?

This was a solid first book in a series and I will likely give the next book a shot - there were plenty of good side characters I would be interested in reading about. The conflict with Wolf's family was fine - to summarize they all suck. My one issue is how oblivious Wolf was towards his family's interactions with Ember. Also, the ending was quite cheesy and over the top but I did love that Ember gets to have her "mic drop" moment. The chemistry between Wolf and Ember was definitely the best aspect of this story.

I love this book by Emily Rose, it was a first for me. What a good story. The characters are all well developed, the story line is impeccable. I love the family drama plot that spices up the story and the addition of the MC into the mix.

Ember is such a strong character. She is beautiful, smart, funny but independent woman. She knows what she wants, she co-owns a bar with her friend Ash and she runs it brilliantly.

Wolf is the alpha male of this story; he is my dream boy. He’s strong, alpha (a.k.a. caveman) on the side, smart and have a lot of ink. Besides, he's a sexy tattoo artist.

I love the relationship Ember and Wolf develop together, they become a perfect couple. I like the fact that they don't want to get involved at first but quickly find out that they can't live without one another.

I also love the supporting characters, I can't wait to maybe read their story in another book.

Good book

First book by this author and it started well.

The MMC Wolfe is dragged out to a bar at 3am to pick up his drunk half brother. As annoying as that is at least the bar owner was fire.

The FMC Ember can’t deny the hot guy from the bar especially when he turns out to be her new neighbour and the chemistry is instant. Even if his family is less than impressed with him having anything to do with her and making it well known how they feel in front of everyone that he can do better.

I enjoyed this book and the characters, I enjoyed the chemistry and the spice, about 70%ish in it just started getting a little too cheesy and unrealistic for me. The speech that Ember made towards the end at the gala just kind of killed my vibe with the book it was too cringe and almost made it to try to be to perfectly round up HEA.

I won’t give up on the series just yet I will try another book but it’s the writing that is making me feel a little questionable

Loved wolf and ember. There was instant attraction but they did not rush into anything. Ember owns a bar with her rich best friend whose family essentially took her in after her mom died. One night she has to call Wolf to get his drunk half-brother from her bar. they later find out that they are new neighbours when his dad accidentally knocks on her door to pick up his asshole stepbrother. He owns the popular tattoo studio and draws her a custom tattoo and they make an agreement to not get together until after it is finished, but they can't hold out. Turns out Wolf also comes from a very wealthy family, and his family does everything they can to embarrass ember and treat her like shit. She ends up leaving him after his mother threatens her business and best friend instead of communicating with him. They find out she has money left from her mom and she donates it to Chairty to embarrass his family? doesn't make sense to me but apparently, it works and they live happily ever after.

Meh

The idea was good but it just didn't quite make it. The story fell flat. Even the sexy times were not very interesting. It was like I was waiting for something exciting to happen but I got nothing. The characters stayed at the cusp of interesting and just went nowhere. And the names of the characters was just odd. Wolf Wild and Ember Rose are the H and h. They seem better suited to a fantasy story than this mundane one. There were a lot of missing words and typos. The story was hard enough to stick with without the typos. At one point urethral was used to describe her dress instead of ethereal. The story comes with a little warning at the beginning that is completely unnecessary. It's on KU so maybe check it out for yourself. It just was not my cup of tea. I expect more.

DNF. Just can’t finish it. it’s boring and I didn’t like either of them.

There’s way too much detail before they even get together. There’s even a huge description of Ember’s employees at her bar that she co-owns, their looks and their personalities, evdn their families. Boooooring!!! Wolf owns a tattoo shop with his friends and we get a huge description of all of them as well. Please tell me what man describes his friends like that?

Wolf’s mother married a very rich man when he was kid, and it’s changed her into a horrible woman. His stepdad is horrid to everyone calling Ember a wh*re and Wolf does nothing. Wolf’s mother is awful to Ember and Wolf does nothing. He’s a wimp. Ember just seems to smile and get on with everything. I found her boring.

Sorry but won’t be reading anymore in the series.

Wolf and Embers story...

Wolf is the local tattooist, him and his shop are legendary and I have to say - I loved the other characters! Two of them seem to just be horndogs but Nix, Talon and Raven have me intrigued and I'm looking forward to reading more about them!
Talon himself is just an honest decent guy, is a kick-ass tattooist, has fun with a girl when the mood strikes and has an absolute plank of a mum, stepdad and stepbrother!
Then we have Ember who has not long opened a bar Ash & Embers with her bestie Ash. Again, excellent side character! Her and her family are people that everyone should be surrounded by - if only eh?!!

Overall a decent story with excellent characters. Definitely enjoyed it and I'm off for the next one!

Let's not dig too far, Tattooed men who may not seem like it, but kneel for their women, well sign me the F*ck up... I just love the whole found family set up, so beautiful 😍 we got a spit-fire MFC who can hand it to you just as much as she can take. The spice is there giving 🔥🌶️ mix the trouble of blood family plus the protectiveness of a loving found family, you have me sold. Initially our MCs weren't looking for a relationship but they didn't deny nor fight their spark, and well let's just say that, I am glad they gave it a try, because a few toes curled up somewhere in-between 🤣 But when the time comes to choose one family over the other, who wins? Worth the grab, do so without hesitation 😇

Fire and Ink Wolf

This is a brilliant story. A strong woman that has work to get where she is in life. A family that loves her even though they are not family by Blood. Wolf is a tattoo artist and owner of the local tattoo shop. Wolf mother married I to a Welshman now thinks she is better than everyone and tries to set wolf up with a woman that thinks is plastic even when he is seeing someone because to her she is below her family . I like the fact Ember shows her that she can't be threatened by them . Plus Wolf gives his own mother a few home truths. This book made me both laugh and cry spice level 4

AMAZING!!

I have never left a review for a book before, although I always read the reviews before adding them to my list to read. This is my first book by Emily Rose and out of the thousands of books I’ve read in my life, this one was on my top 5 favorites! I love how she was able to mix all types of people into one story. There were mean & nasty rich, loving & caring rich, poor & struggling, middle class & bikers! Everyone of the characters had their own personality and what Emily accomplished with this story was nothing short of amazing! The spice level was on point and lead to a HEA. The speech at the end had tears in my eyes. THIS IS A MUST READ!

Emily and Wolf. I had to read this because I read the MC series first and was unsure about the characters mentioned in those books. The ink series follows the same pattern and as with those, the women steal the show. I found it hard to swallow when Wolf's mom chases Emily away at a luncheon. The girl should have went in and told him she wanted to leave and had a big scene there. Instead we got a big expositional set of paragraphs where he tells off his family. It was okay. The other thing I didn't get, was if the family hated his so much, why they cared what he did or who he dated. Overall, cute, entertaining, but average in story telling.

I really enjoyed this book by a new to me author. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Wolf and Ember and the entire cast of side characters. Ember's life spoke to me in ways I never thought possible and I enjoyed the evolution of the fmc and mmc. This story made me cry, which is a rare thing to happen when I read books, but it was so moving in many places. The gala portion was amazing. The only thing I was confused about was having a chapter from Nix's perspective. I figured that it was setting us up for his book to be next, but it looks like that is not the case. However I am going to finish the series because I enjoyed all of the characters and am not ready to leave them quite yet.

Solid debut!

This was a solid first book by a new author. Sure, there were a few minor issues, BUT I easily see those being resolved as she writes more books. This had a bit of a Layla Frost vibe, which is a good thing to me because I adore her books also, and kept me up too late with my promise of “just one more chapter” to myself. I’ll be interested to see how this author evolves as she gains more confidence in her work (because really, this did NOT read like an author’s first attempt to me, so I see very good things ahead).

I loved this book! Characters are will developed with a background story and lots of family angst and support. Ah Wolf a man after my own heart, he's strong, alpha, smart and he has lots of ink. Amber is beautiful, smart, fun and has a heart as big as Texas. Loved the secondary characters that I am sure will star in the books following. I can't wait for the next one. Girl, you need a fan page on fqcebook and an Amazon page if you hadn't had the link in Lola's page I never would have found you and that would have been a crying shame!

I quite liked this story. I guess I'd even give 3.5 stars.

All the characters, primary and secondary, are well-developed and there's definitely room for more stories. Some developments ( among which some of the big hurdles to be overcome) were a bit too much for me, but they do not outweigh the rest of the story at all. There's a lot of sexiness, spunk, sass and a lot of fun. I really liked Raven and I'm especially curious to see if there will be a follow-up story for that character. I'd read the next stories in this series for sure.

This story is wonderful! All the guys who work at Fire and Ink tattoo shop are sexy and interesting, while all of the women from Ash and Embers are strong and brave.
It's got the basics of the classic wealthy man falls in love with the maids daughter despite his families disapproval story. But with several fun and unique twists, including an MC, tons of sexual chemistry, awesome tats, and the unexpected support of all sorts of friends and family. This story is hot and heart warming and I cant get enough of these characters!

I’ll say 3.5

I feel like this good have been awesome if the author slowed down a bit.
Parts jump around, some things don’t make sense. There’s grammatical errors and spelling tragedies. Bullets name changes on a page twice to a completely random name.
I found myself skipping through Spicey scenes annoyed because I wanted more plot.

All in all it was okay, I’ll be checking out book 2 in hopes the editor did a better job.

Also a small plot hole
What ever happened to the angry biker ? I feel like that should have been revisited.

This one took me a bit to get into but once the couples chemistry started showing I was hooked. The hero and heroine were lovable but the family dynamic stole the show. Ember was an orphan who has been taken in by her best friend’s family. They are well off but everyone thinks Ember is using them for their money. The heroes family tries to come between them and they were a bunch of wackos. I was so glad Ember and Wolf got their HEA. I can’t wait to see the rest of the guys and girls in the group to pair up!

“The kiss is nothing short of an explosion. Fire. Smoke. Ash. It is everything.”
““I’m not teasing you, Ember…. I’m worshiping you.””

I needed a contemporary after a lot of fantasy and this just HIT THE SPOT. @emily.rose.author created an addicting world that I devoured in less than a day. Wolf and Ember are fantastic. Ember is just so relatable and sweet but sassy. Wolf is the lovable sexy grump tattoo artist. They have some rough spots but an amazing journey. The perfect amount of spice vs plot and a story you just can’t put down. I can’t wait to jump into Talon’s story now! 💜

This was a very enjoyable read. I loved the way it combines family, intrigue and a bit of MC into the mix. The story was developed, the characters well thought out, some great steamy scenes and there was some teasing about future potential couples.

Wolf and Ember were a special couple. I loved the independence of these characters which made the fall all the better. Bravo on the courage it takes an author to release a first book. It was a pleasure to read.
