My kidnapper believes that taking me as his wife will make him a true king of my people. But with a soul as black as his, I can never let that happen.
But he knows just how to break me.
My mutant is his plaything. My berserker stands at his side. And my dragon shifter may betray everything he holds dear to protect me.
It’s said that I’m destined for greatness. But if I have anything to say about it, that destiny will be to destroy this house and every cruel life within it.
I just hope I can overcome the monster inside of me, or else we’re all doomed.
UNSTABLE is a paranormal reverse harem romance. The first book involving these characters is called Untamed, and it takes place in the shared world, Wicked Reform School. I recommend reading that book before this one, as well as, the book Unknown. This is a very steamy romance where the woman is the focus, and she doesn’t have to choose between her men.

I really loved this series!! With such a strong female lead in Kiera, then add in her mates Adam, Drake and Emory things get a little heated. Then add in Coal to the mix when he is put in a cell with Kiera by the Demons. This book is also told from the guys pov which brings the book out in more ways. Throughout each and every twist and turn the book takes. Until that amazing ending they all deserved.
What a conclusion!! I have really enjoyed this series and although I am sad to see it end, the author has done a great job with its conclusion. It’s an ending full of hope, drama, action, suspense and a whole lotta tension! In a race against time Kiera and her men raise up to kick ass and save everyone from Maxen, there’s tons going on but it’s all finished and wrapped up really well and I look forward to more from this author!
Im really sad this was the finale to this series. Still it was a brilliant ending and all the loose ends were tied up perfectly. Lots of fast-paced action, tension, steamy sexy times, a new male complication and a few tears at the end. It was a great end to a great series
Wow what a emotional ride that was. I loved the ending to this series. Great twists and turns and a very emotional scene for Adam. Love Kiera and her men. So sad to say good bye to them.
Kiera was transported from one prison cell to another but this one is a literal prison cell with the Demons. Now she must strike a deal with the devil: retrieve the relic that Maxen had stolen from their people and be set free. So Kiera and her men with one grumpy guard, Cole, are on the way. Along the way they are faced with Cole's wavering loyalty as well as Maxen's men trying to stop their motley crew from achieving their goal. Maybe if they can finally set things right they can find happiness together. And maybe Cole is more important to their group than just someone who could potentially betray them all.
The final book in the trilogy went really fast. Most of the books were short so it was not a surprise but everything was tied up that I felt would have gone on for a while. The solution to Kiera marrying Maxen was carried out as if the reason for holding back on such actions just disappeared. They even introduced a new male into the harem in the bottom of the ninth and with the bases already loaded. The book felt a little rushed as if the author was just trying to end the series and didn't care if the bows she tied in all the issues were crooked or not. I would have liked if there was a little slower a pace so I could enjoy the couples being reunited again after having to remain separate when imprisoned with the false king. Emory suddenly lost all his self-deprecation, Adam grew a backbone, and Drake could suddenly do things he couldn't do before and was told he'd never do again. No real reason for any of these changes other than it was the final book and the end was nigh.
The rushed pace didn't take away from the fact that I did like the characters overall. I liked Cole most of all for some reason. But even with him, he suddenly questions switching sides out of the blue and for no reason other than Kiera is really pretty. That seems a little surface level for a grand romance. But it didn't take that much away from the likeability of the characters.
The book was slightly less impressive than the other two just because the loose ends didn't meld together as efficiently as I would have liked. But it was still don't regret reading the series.
Unstable is the third and final book in Lacey Carter Andersen’s House of Berserkers series. You might need a quick refresher before you start this book, but once you start reading...get ready for a roller coaster ride of drama and be sure to grab a box of tissues. You’re going to need them at one point in this story. Trust me. But don’t worry, this book ends with a well-enough happy ending for the characters. Kiera has her hands full in Unstable. Captured by the demons, wanted by Maxen, and nothing but drama all around her. They are all in bad shape, but the demons find that they can be useful...reacquiring the relic that was stolen from them. Of course, the one who made the suggestion...Cole isn’t exactly high on anyone’s “trustworthy” list. But when they are each marked and told they only have so much time to acquire the relic and return...best hop to it! There are quite a bit of twists and surprises in this book. An addition of a new character that, of course, leads to a promising new spin-off series. My favorite character(s) hands down...Adam...and Princess. I love cats, so...I’m going to love Princess. LOL! But of the “main” characters...Adam is my hands-down favorite. He’s so sweet and I absolutely love him. He sees the best in everyone and even when they cause him to doubt he never lets go of the hope that they’ll be/do better. Sorry not sorry, but Emory honestly got on my nerves. Drake did as well from time to time, but Emory the most. It’s obvious that he never once tried to get to know or understand Cole on any level. He’s done nothing but judge and it shows. This author always comes through with happy endings for the characters in her books and this time is no different. A part of me was hoping for...a “little” something more, but I have a feeling that we’ll probably be seeing them again in the not too distant future. This book does leave me with a few questions at the end, but I’m looking forward to what comes next in the books/stories to come. I am rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. I’m taking off half a star because I felt that the animosity was a bit heavy-handed at times. But other than that, this book is well worth reading.
The House of Berserkers wraps up with Unstable the third and final book. This book started out crazy and kept the crazy up all the way to the end and I loved every second of it.
Keira is a great character throughout the series she remained her strong feisty self while being open-minded and still managed to care for every except for Maxen. However Cole was a special circumstance, those two had their moments with him and his attitude and Keira being a boss lady and having none of it.
As for the guys, they have all grown closer and have truly bonded as a family. They not only love Keira but each other as well. They look out for one another and worry about each others well being, it's really touching especially with Adam, he's been through so much and finally has found a family he deserves. Ugh, I just want to wrap him up.
This plot was high action, with relics, poisons, and dodging Maxen's me. There were also a lot of touching moments between the guys and between Keira and the guys. The demons coming into the story was interesting and I would love to see a series centered on them. There were high-speed chases, unexpected allies, and near misses. Like I said non-stop action.
Unstable was a fantastic conclusion to the Berserker series. I have to say the fight scene at the end was epic. I'm so glad that Keira and her guys got their happy ever after. The best part is that Lacey has another series set in the same world staring a familiar face that I'm looking forward to.
So I'm not rating this one because it was not bad at all but felt rushed, things that weren't answered and at the end I kind of love and hated this one.
Adam, I love that guy!!!! I want to adopt him!!!
The FMc, was pretty good, I would have liked that she played the Max situation in a wiser way instead of being a stubborn / strong head person, it was clear she was the alpha of the harem.
Why this books were sooo short!! I like them with 400 at least! I feel that there were important things that were left out like:
Adam's mom, what kind of creature he was, did he actually had a family and it was not like he was told that he is the result of some experiment.
Taking in account that her breed don't have mates, how come she was ok with all the guys, just because she was lusting for them? Because that was not the case with the last one and she out of blue was totally ok with him.
To make things short this series need at least one more book to develop things better on the romance department and on the characters.
Even if I think there were some things that could be added/changed in this story I still enjoyed it a lot.
Even if Kiera sometimes used more of her good heart instead of cold logic she didn't have a tendency to go and make stupid, rush decisions. She had big capacity for forgivness and saw good in people even if sometimes it was really challenging. Thanks to her upbringing she had a strong values for what's right and what's wrong.
I love that all her man had distinctive personalities and we all could see how they grown to be better man. I wish there was a bit more time for Cole to join them. His addition wasn't rushed per se... BUT there was not much time for actual progress of the relationship. It's more of how the situations they came across made them be together. Though I gotta admit I didn't get any impressions of it being forced. If I had to make a comparison it would be that most of the relationship in this story were build by going through trials. Each created an opportunity to create a seed of trust.
What an amazing series by the very talented Lacey Carter Anderson. She has created a dark and dangerous world in these books with character that come alive as you read. This book is a quick read and not as dark as the others due to the location it is written in. But we still get the depth of emotion through the pages..Kiera and her men, Adam, Drake and Emory has been captured and then we meet the forth, Cole. He brings a new intensity to the story, but he cannot beat out Drake! It is difficult to read Emory int his book and hard for Kiera to get her trust with him. But I really enjoyed how they all come together int his story. But one of the best is that we get the story from all POV, not just Kiera..it adds a depth to the story and really as you understanding what all the characters are gong through. I loved how the story was finished and I hope that we get to read about them more in more book from this amazing universe. Highly recommended complete series.
This was an incredible series that was full of so many ups and downs! I could not put this book down and was dying to find out what happened next!
It seems like a race against time in this book while Kiera and her men are fighting with everything they have. They have to learn to trust but one wrong move could mean the end for them all. Kiera is a bada** in her own and I loved seeing her growth throughout this series! This book just took you for a ride emotionally that left you head reeling at times. The series was wrapped up but it also opened the door for another adventure.
Overall it was a great series to read and I am sad to see the conclusion of these characters but I absolutely loved getting to read a series about Berserkers! It was an amazing ride and I cannot wait to see what Lacey will bring for us next!
The final book in this adrenaline, adventure filled series gave us everything and more!!! Such a great ride all around!!! There are a few surprises (good and bad) along the way, but to me the through line was love. Friends, family, lovers....love, and what they can overcome and accomplish together. There's lots of steam, adventure, mystery, and a few surprises that will keep your adrenaline and emotions high! Although this is the end of Kiera's story....looks like another is just beginning. Maybe if we're lucky we'll get to see Kiera and her guys again in the upcoming spinoff around another certain character?
This is a short book and is the conclusion to the House of Berserkers series. Everything got wrapped up quite quickly and wasn't as detailed as I would have liked. But it wrapped up the series nicely, nothing was left unanswered but potential spin offs are in the mix within this world.
All in all a nice little trilogy of books for some enjoyable escapism. Kiera and her guys are great characters but Adam and Princess steal every scene they are in, they are amazing characters.
This book was not as dark as the first ones as most of the action and story happened away from Maxen.
If you enjoy a light RH paranormal read why not give it a go.
I loved the wrap up of Kiera's story about her mates, her enemies, her allies and one crazed berserker self-appointed king who wanted her for his own gain and sadistic pleasure. Add in a most wonderful cat, beautiful bonding of her mates and the addition of one more to the group make this last book a wild ride filled with chases, battles, self discovery and quests. You won't want to put down. I am looking forward to Asha's story coming next but also have hopes we'll hear more about a friend from the first book. If you've read the first 2 don't miss this one and if you haven't, you really need to start reading the whole series asap! Enjoy!
Kiera, a Winter berserker, has been captured along with her men, Adam, Drake, and Emory when thing take a wierd turn. As the story progresses a time clock is ticking, the hits keep coming at them, and trusting the wrong person at the right time may be the only way for the world to survive. Lacey Carter Andersen’s Unstable ended this series on a high note and setting the reader up for the next step in this on going story that began with Elizabeth in Wraith Captive and will continue with Asha in Shifter Crimes.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
This series was very rewarding. I wasn't really sure what to expect from it but I was pleasantly surprised that the story was good, the characters were great, and it had me feeling all different emotions. This book was a race against time. Maxen as crazy as ever, the demons, and the spell put on them that could kill them. Danger around every corner and the chance that not everyone is going to make it out unscathed. I would have to say my only complaint is not being able to get more from Keira and cole. We never really got any relationship build up or even know how it progressed. Other than that I think it was a pretty good series.
I just finished and have to laugh because the ending is nonsensical. How do you have one more guy? A kiss does not make a SO. There are so many unanswered questions - what's the verdict on Drake? Who/what is Cole? Who was Adam before? What the heck is the story behind this mysterious prophecy? Etc. And how does she still keep getting her *ss beat?!?
I guess I'm happy I got to the end so there's that. This series wasn't terrible but it wasn't close to good either. The strange epilogue/cliffhanger was so unnecessary when the Enforcer story was so easily tied into the plot without too much effort. I'm not mad but I am incredulous and happy to be done.
This series is absolutely amazing. This book starts where the previous one leaves off and takes you for an emotional ride. Kiera is probably my absolute favorite character of all time because she is a total bad ass all by herself but when she is fighting along side her men she is completely lethal. Another favorite character is Princess his love for Adam is so pure and for being an old cat he is the toughest little guy you'd ever meet. I couldn't put this down once I started and I was completely hooked with the first book. I definitely recommend this series to everyone.
This book we really a nice change! This was the first I've read about the world of berserkers. I loved that Kiera's men were not the same as her. She is rare as a female berserker and she found her old friend another berserker, a mutant, and the last dragon shifter. They really love each other and find a way to work together with their strengths and weaknesses. Will they be able to save the world in time though?! Will they defeat Maxam? And who is this berserker Cole? Is he with us or against us? Glad I got to find out in this book!
Great conclusion to this series, including also some hints about series that are related. It took a lot for the characters to finally come all together, now with one more addition represented by Cole - and his presence definitely brought more chaos and challenges into the harem dynamics. But it was a pleasure watching Emory accepting himself in the end, doing everything for Kiera, same as the others. The book was a storm of emotions and action, and I really liked how it got all wrapped up. Looking forward to the next series.
What an absolutely thrilling conclusion to this series!!
It was action-packed from the start to the very end, and there are so many points where you fear for what the conclusion is going to be (and our amazing characters).
I loved this series and found it very unique as I had never read about berzerkers in this way before!
The plot once again was stellar and I really enjoyed the way the characters and their relationships developed across the series!
Absolutely fantastic series and one I will definitely revisit in the future.
Brilliant series. So sad that this is the last one. Kiera is Queen of the Bersekers. But her king is a madman determined to make her his Queen in truth no matter the cost or whether she is willing or not. Unfortunately for her there are other kings in play and only one king is good enough for our Berserker Queen, but with the Demon King not all is what it seems but his control over the Blood mages is alarming. This was a great read.
This book was full of twists and turns and I loved it. While I'm sad to see Kiera and her guys' story end, I'm so glad to see a HEA. Kiera and her men have been through it all and I love how Cole was brought into the mix and he turned against Maxen. I also love Princess but was not expecting to be teary eyed towards the end. We were introduced to Asha and she was part of Coles turning point. I definitely can't wait for her story. Definitely a series worth reading!!
I've really enjoyed this series. Kiera and the men have had to overcome some huge obstacles, and this last book in the series was no different. An emotional rollercoaster as they each learn who they can trust, while going through these difficult times.
I am not ready to say goodbye to these characters, I've come to really like them! A random bunch, but all so strong, especially when together. I look forward the spin-off!
I'm not ready to say goodbye to these characters, I've come to really like them but Wow what a emotional ride for the final book in this adrenaline, adventure filled series. Everything got wrapped up quite quickly and wasn't as detailed as I would've liked. Still an incredible read. I'm so looking forward to Asha spin-off series. As always my reviews are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are completely my own.
Real emotional rollercoaster. Surprises, aventures, chases, battles, twists and secrets. The relationships with her men is just beautiful. She is strong and perfect on her own but with them by her side, she is unstoppable. We got lots of answers but also leads for another story to come. It was perfect story, great ending to this series and so nice insight into this unknown, until now, world of berserkers. I loved every moment of it.
Unstable by Lacey Carter Andersen is the third and final book of the House of Berserkers Series and it certainly was a great ending to his awesome series. This series, as a whole, was packed full of lots of action, surprises, and definite steam!!! This final book continues from the previous one smoothly and is absolutely a must read for this author! Can't wait to see what else she comes up with in this universe and perhaps we'll see more of our favs!!!
Wow…… what a crazy ride! Kiera and her men are in for the fight of their lives. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat while you nibble on your fingernails with each turn of the page. With the clock running out will they survive to see the next day? We get plenty of action and suspense but also we get to see more inside the heads of the men as time wears on. Absolutely fantastic!! This story wraps up well and opens into the next series nicely! I cannot wait to meet Asha! 💜🖤
I am going to miss theses characters after this fabulous ending to the trilogy. Kiera and her men have been captured when a surprise twist presents itself. From that point on they are working under a tight deadline that makes things quite tense. Full of surprises and twists at every turn this group really comes into their own as the story wraps itself up. Makes for a fabulous read. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
