-Opposites attract
-Strangers to best friends to lovers
-Fake dating
-Angst, Pinning
-And there is Jealousy and a fight!

So this is part of a series and though I have not read the books before this one, it didn't put any dent in my enjoyment, I am looking forward to reading the previous book in the series.
This book follows Lola Delgado and Silas Malone, two people who are the complete opposite of each other. One flirting session at the bar leads to Lola giving Silas the wrong number, a fake date to make up for it and a barbecue that changes the course of their lives forever. Lola and Silas have the most interesting relationship because their initial reaction to each other is to sleep together and get that out of the way. But when one thing leads to another and they both realize that it’s not going to work out and they’re not going to be anything more than just friends - they draw the line.

The thing I love most about Lola is that at the starting of the book she is not looking for romance and she is not looking for romance and she’s not afraid to tell people to back off if she’s not interested. Silas is just as amazing, He has baggage and darkness in his past and he’s been struggling to get past that. He’s also watched his parents’ marriage fall apart and Silas has zero interest in love after the one time he let himself feel that way. He’s cocky and charming.

Last Round is the 5th and final book in the Twisted Fox series but can still be read as a standalone. This was a friends to lovers, mutual pinning, slow burn, angsty and heartfelt story.

Throughout the series we have met Silas & Lola and know very little of their back story but we do sense a lot of the mutual pinning and witness their friendly flirting & banter that seems to make up a lot of their dynamic. In Last Round we explore the beginning of their friendship and a fair amount of the story overlaps the previous books and their timelines so it often felt a little repetitive to me while we caught up the the events of the previous book. This kind of story telling isn't a personal favourite of mine especially in series I've been reading consecutively but it does make it perfect to read as a standalone.

Another aspect of the story that didn't necessarily work for me was the fact that Lola didn't really seem to take Silas' feelings into consideration. I understand her frustration with his lack of opening up and honest communication but I just feel like she knew he was hurting and struggling but instead of being patient with him she intentionally acted out in ways that would cause extra drama and angst that I personally did not enjoy.

That being said I still really did enjoy the story as a whole and I love both Lola and Silas and I'm glad we got their story. I love being able to catch up with the rest of the crew and all the interactions they had and I'm very much looking forward to the next generation series.

I have loved this series from the start and Last Round was the perfect ending.

This book took us through Silas and Lola's story from the very beginning. We saw glimpses of their friendship but never behind the scenes and now everything makes perfect sense. I loved their friendship and them as a couple even more. Great ending to this series!

Silas & Lola met in a bar where Silas was bartending. Lola was there with a group of her girlfriends, one of which is the little sister of Silas’s boss. Immediately attracted to Lola, Silas asks for her number. And when he goes to call her the next day, he reaches someone that isn’t Lola and he feels played. As fate would have it, Lola & Silas end up at the same barbecue since they run in the same social circles. Both beyond snarky, Lola & Silas decide to leave the possibility of romance behind and become friends instead.

Now 2-years later, Silas & Lola are best friends, but feelings have always been lurking beneath the surface between them. And now that Lola starts romantically pursuing someone from Silas’s dark past, Lola & Silas have to face the feelings they’ve been harboring head on…

Last Round by Charity Ferrell is book 5 in the Twisted Fox series. In typical CF fashion, this was full of drama, drama, drama. I have to be in a certain type of moods for her books but when I’m in need of drama, she’s my go-to. I enjoyed Silas & Lola’s friends to lovers romance and I liked how damaged of a hero Silas was. I liked this one just as much as the rest of the series (I rated them all between 3.5-4 stars) and I think the series was wrapped up well! 3.5/5 stars.

4.5 stars!

Having seen how Silas and Lola’s friendship blossomed throughout the first four books, knowing how close they were as best friends, whilst so clearly being in love with the other, I was so eager to discover what was keeping them from being happy and making babies. Last Round is the final book in the series, and really packs a punch in terms of the emotions.

Lola and Silas meet when he hits on her as her bartender, and she gives him her ex’s number instead of her own. This doesn’t put Silas off though, he decides to try and win her over, and becomes part of their friendship group. When Lola needs a fake date to a work event, Silas offers his services and throughout the evening they realise how well they get on, striking up a friendship. Despite being a bartender, Silas doesn’t drink, and doesn’t offer up a reason as to why, and over the years, they become closer, but never crossing that romantic line. Both want more secretly but denying it to themselves and their friends. Silas has his secrets, ones he’s not told anyone from there group, and when his stepbrother Trent reappears in his life, a man Silas hates, and takes Lola on a date, Silas knows it’s time to face his past, or lose Lola forever.

Lola and Silas were my favourite couple I think, they had a very deep strong bond, bounced off each other so well, the banter was the best. I am so glad the book started at the beginning of their friendship, where they had clearly both been hurt in the past and were hesitant to start anything romantic. Both wanted and needed a true friendship when they first met, but once they got to know each other, their feelings changed. Lola always knew Silas was hiding something, but she never pushed him too much, knowing he’d open up when he wanted to, and not wanting to push him away, but that did reach breaking point when she realised how little she knew about his past. Only when they became more did they reveal all about their pasts, and both kept their feelings to themselves for different reasons, with Silas not believing he deserved happiness, and Lola not wanting to lose Silas from her life for good.

Silas was a very broody man, one who you knew had demons that he kept to himself. He is all funny and jokey with his friends, but underneath he is lonely, because no one knows the real him, not even Lola, because he’s terrified of what she’ll think. He knows that at times he lets Lola down by not cluing her in, and by avoiding certain dates like her birthday, but that almost feeds into his guilt of not deserving to be happy. But once the threat of Lola not being in his life becomes real, and he realises she won’t be there for him in the same capacity as she always has been if he doesn’t face his past, he opens up and reveals his true feelings.

Lola had been hurt by so many men, when she met Silas, she grouped him in with the same charming playboys she had dated before. But he wasn’t. He was charming, but he was also kind, and considerate, and a great friend, which is what she needed at the time. I felt for her, because she was so clearly in love and at times it was like she was talking to a brick wall because of how resistant he was to let her into his heart. The scene in the club broke me, it was so unnecessarily hurtful, but one that needed to happen as a wakeup call for both of them, for Lola to realise other men were out there to consider dating, and for Silas to see that Lola wouldn’t be waiting forever.

It took me a while to read the last book in the Twisted Fox series, because I didn’t want to leave these characters behind, but I am so happy with how it ended and with the happily ever afters that these couples got! The Twisted Fox series has fully cemented itself in my heart. While I wasn’t totally sold on the first book, I am so glad I carried on reading the stories of this group of friends, because the more I read about them, the more I want to be invited to their Taco Tuesdays and nights hanging out at the bar. I would recommend this series to anyone!

Charity Ferrell went out on top with Silas and Lola's story! It has definitely just become one of my favorites of hers!

This couple's story starts off fun and cute but but as they realize they both are missing out on the love department, things begin to shift - and not for the better. See, Silas is holding onto a secret that affects everything.

This story was equally fun, equally sexy, and equally emotional. There is just something about broken men. Let me clarify - broken FICTIONAL men- because I don't think I would have the patience and energy for this in real life! Charity Ferrell excels when it comes to stories like this. Stories that have some sort of tragedy are her bread and butter.

With Last Round being the last of the Twisted Fox series, it was bittersweet but at least we did get a glimpse of the future and I can't wait to see how THAT unfolds.

Lola and Silas' first meeting is funny and witty, and sets the tone for the friendship to come. She gives Silas her cheating ex's number when he flirts with her, and the rest is history. Except, their history isn't easy, even though they become best friends. The transition from friends to lovers, though? Yeah that's the hard part. Well, that and maintaining it all. How do you toe the line between friends and more without ruining everything? Especially when both have lots and lots of baggage?

Silas and Lola's story is a very fitting one for the conclusion of the series. It's unexpectedly emotional, but it's also witty and fun, especially the banter between the two. I wanted to hug Silas when he finally revealed his past and what had given him all the immense amounts of baggage he was carrying on his shoulders. But Lola was there for him, perfect as not just his best friend, but as his soulmate. I've loved getting to know the men and women of the Twisted Fox world, reading as they fell in love, fought it, fought each other, and found happiness, and am going to miss them all.

From the start of this series I have been dying for Lola and Silas’s story. They started out as strangers, but they eventually became each other’s best friends and were there for each other. Last Round was hilarious, it was steamy, but it was also unexpectedly emotional. I absolutely loved these two characters and their story. It was well worth the wait for them.
I loved how Silas and Lola first met. It had me laughing so hard. The back and forth banter between them is on point. Their friendship was great. They formed a connection that wasn’t just physical and it was a connection that they two of them both needed at that time in their lives. However, there is a ton of chemistry and tension between them that stays nicely beneath the surface for a while.
There was so much unexpected emotions when it came to this story, specifically when it comes to Silas. His past absolutely broke my heart. I felt for him. He was punishing himself for something he shouldn’t have had to punish himself for. But, I love that despite everything and his fears he had Lola there to be someone he could lean on.
There was some overlap with events in the previous books of this series, but I loved getting to see everything from Silas and Lola’s POV and getting more insight into it all. Plus, I love the Twisted Fox couples in general so it was great getting more of them. This was a great final book in the series and a great set up for what is to come in the future, which I CANNOT wait for.
If you’re looking for friends to lovers, small town romance this is one to check out.

Love me some Silas and Lola!

This book was such a good time, especially at the beginning. I loved how the characters were written. Charity Ferrell really knows how to write fun, likeable characters. Like, their banter with each other was unmatched!

I truly felt and saw the friendship between our main love interests develop. Which then led to them pinning for each other. The reason for them to have the mental push/pull on whether to get together or not was also very believable. All in all, I enjoyed it!

I’ve only read two books from this series so far, and I love both of them. But, if I had to rank them, this is my fav of the two so far! Loved it!

It’s giving strangers-to-best friends-lovers; It’s giving fake dating; It’s giving opposites attract… All my fav tropes basically! 🥰😊

OOOH! I have been waiting for Silas and Lola's story! Last Round was a fantastic ending to the Twisted Fox series!

I loved the backstory of how Silas and Lola met! Silas is the perfect broody tortured hero who doesn't think he's deserving of love and happiness. He puts up a good front, but he is so lonely. For a while, their platonic friendship serves Lola just fine, but eventually, she starts to develop feelings for him and isn't quite sure what to do about it. Silas has feelings for her as well, but he is beating himself up over something that wasn't his fault has imprisoned his heart. Give in to her, dude!

Their journey is rough! I cried for this couple more than I did for any other pair in the series.

Last Round is a standalone, but the characters in the Twisted Fox series are all friends so we see lots from the couples in the other books. And I love how the timelines are concurrent; having read the other books, I love seeing what's happening with the other couples in the progress of their relationships as Silas and Lola's story unfolds. And finally getting to see Lola's birthday fiasco from her POV -- WOW!

Lola Delgado and Silas Malone started off as strangers who met at a bar where he was bartending. He tried to charm her, having broken his no-messing-around-with-customers rule for the first time. Lola, however, did not reciprocate those feelings, and gave him her cheating ex’s number to call. They bickered like an old married couple, their bond only growing when Silas told her he was no longer interested in pursuing her romantically, a let-down for Lola who was initially not interested in him. They decided to be just friends. Their frenemy relationship eventually turned into them seeing the other as their best-friend. This, even though they both were, in secret, romantically interested in the other. A line Lola was willing to cross, but one Silas refuses to even step closer to. His past kept him from love, from his desire to be more than with his best friend. He kept his past locked away from everyone. Until his past came back to haunt him.

The writing was fun and easy, and the plot was intriguing. I’m not a big fan of friends-to-lovers, and this one did give me some more mixed feelings about it, truth be told. But the beginning of their friendship was fun to follow. It was filled with their bantering, their cat-and-dog-fights, and the pettiness and humor they shared.

Silas is so convinced that he isn't worthy of a happily ever after, of love, of anything good. All because of a tragic event that happened in his past. He does want to love and be loved, but he feels like he doesn't deserve it. And Lola is his temptation, his only exception.

Lola is basically the 'hard on the outside, soft on the inside' type. She only acts tough, but that's only to protect herself. She does want love, but because she saw her mother getting walked all over by her cheating dad, she feels like having emotions, having feelings, makes you look weak and vulnerable. She’s a character who doesn't wear her heart on her sleeve

Silas is the opposite of Lola. He's a jokester on the outside, the chill one, laid-back. But really, it's only a cover-up. He sees himself as prickly on the inside. Undeserving. Unworthy. Of love, or anything good. He's convinced that he'll break people's hurts, ruin their lives. And that even just trying would prove useless.

Silas and Lola were the first in their friend group to fall in love. But they were also the last to make their relationship official.

I received an advance review copy, and I a leaving this review voluntarily.

RTC

I have mixed feelings about this one. It was SO good up until literally midway. Everything went downhill, for me, after the birthday incident. Everyone started to become unbearable at times, so many things happened to everyone BUT the main characters, there was somewhat of another-man plot, people REFUSING to talk about stuff. The angsty drama made my eyes twitch.

But when I say that everything was good up until midway, I do mean that it was SO good.

Official review to come.

Silas & Lola are only together for the last 5 chapters of the book😑 It was a lot of rehashing from the very first book in the series & how their friendship progressed, which was a waste of time to me, it made the bulk of the book just filler. And then warp speed ahead, he confessed his past, they bang, their friends have a kid so they want one too & it happens immediately. The ‘steamy’ scenes were boring & quick. After they decide to date they get super cheesy, which I’m not a fan of. And Silas forgiving his stepbrother like nothing freaking happened? That’s bullshit. Lola going out on casual dates with Silas’ stepbrother while knowing he hated him was messed up. Overall Silas & Lola didn’t have much development, their book was just chucked together to wrap up the series.

Last Round is the last book in the Twisted Fox series. Author saved the best for the last, a last blast moment! Each book can be read as a stand alone, but its best to read in order. This book takes us back to the very beginning of their relationship and its a great story of opposites attract to best friends to lovers trope for Lola and Silas. Hate to see this series end but the end of this book detailing the lives of the interconnecting characters plus the MCs is exceptionally done! The snarky, witty banter is a major bonus.

Last Round is a story that takes you on an intense and poignant journey. Two people who had been friends first but had their true feelings from each other scared of the damage and destruction crossing the line would do to them. Silas and Lola's pasts play heavily on their relationship keeping it in the friend zone. As secrets have guilt heavy on Silas's soul it will take him losing his everything and being confronted by his guilt that will finally have him breaking into pieces. Will Lola be able to piece him back together or will his scars run too deep for even her to have him finally moving forward. Their story is witty and had me laughing so much at the start with the back and forward sass and banter between these two. The chemistry and connection between them is powerful and can be felt deep under your skin. As friendships are put to the test and hearts are at risk can the last round at Twisted Fox find these two the piece and happiness that they both deserve. A beautiful way to end this series and possibly with the hope that this author might just give us a second generation to have us falling in love with.

Lola and Silas's story is the one that I've been eager to get my hands on throughout the Twisted Fox series. That's due in large part to the fact that the glimpses I got of them had me curious. Now that I've satisfied said curiosity, I'm officially declaring these two my favorite Twisted Fox couple! They went from being strangers to acquaintances with shared ties who push each other's buttons to fake dating to real best friends; and then the journey from that point to becoming so much more was fraught with complications, no thanks to one of them--cough, Silas, cough--not being all the forthcoming about certain parts of his past. There are lighthearted moments, but there are also angsty ones in the book, but nothing dark or depressing. Having the other Twisted Fox couples and having them living out their happily-ever-afters was the icing on Last Round's five-starred cake.

I knew within the first 5 pages that Lola and Silas were going to be my favorite TF couple, and I was 10000% right!

I had the pleasure to beta read Last Round, and I seriously fell in love with the story from the very start. Lola was always a fav of mine through-out this series (really all the heroines are amazing), and so I was eager to read her and Silas' story. Lola and Silas go through hell and back with each other, never giving up on their friendship and love for one another. They are seriously my favvvvvvv. Last Round has all the goodies.... angst, funny as hell banter, all the sexiness, and of course the amazing Twisted Fox crew!

This series is not one to be missed! Also, THOSE COVERS *heart eyes*

Last Round is Lola and Silas' story and is the one I've been waiting for. We have seen glimpses of these characters throughout the Twisted Fox Series and their relationship has always intrigued me.

Silas is lonely and thinks he's undeserving of love and happiness. Lola is his friend and at first that's okay but soon their feelings start to change but they are in for a rough ride if they are to find a way to be together. Silas has a secret that could tear everything apart.

A great opposites attract story and the perfect ending to the Twisted Fox series. This story can be read as a standalone alone but I would highly recommend reading the entire series.

Having read other books in the Twisted Fox world I've been looking so forward to more! I picked up this one as soon as i could and got right back into this world. I enjoyed this fifth installment!

Silas and Lola's journey had my attention from the start! I really liked the memorable way these two are brought into each other's lives as well as their banter. I wasn't sure what all was going to happen between them. I enjoyed the fact that these two had me feeling many things throughout reading as well!

With Last Round, Ms.Ferrell has created such a good read! I'm looking forward to reading what she comes up with next!

This was a quick and easy read. The character dynamic is fun, especially with all the banter between them. It kept me entertained. The friends-to-lovers plot was exactly what I expected, but honestly, it was super cute, so I didn’t mind. It fits perfectly with the rest of the series, and was a nice wrap up for the Twisted Fox friend group.

The last and final book in the twisted fox series. But it showed pre order for another book that will be Jax and Amelia’s story. Jax is Maliki and Sierras son and Amelia is Silas and Lola’s daughter. Yeah you heard that right Silas and Amelia finally got their heads out of their asses and ended up together. This book bounces in POV between Silas and Lola. We have known about their friendship from all of the other books in the series but in this book we get to see the behind the scenes. Lola, Grace and Georgia came to the bar that Silas and Cohen worked at together and Silas was immediately drawn to Lola. He heard her say that she had been giving out her exes number to people and he was intrigued. When he asked for her number he fell for it and called Lola’s ex Callum. When she came back to the bar he called her out for it. And when he overheard her say she needed a date for her dads event he volunteered to be her fake date. He found out Lola works for 21st ammendment which is a high end liquor distributor and her ex Callum also works there. Silas got to meet her ex and dad on the same night. But the date went well. Lola expected him to either ditch, it to go awful, or for him to try to sleep with her but he did none of those things. They formed a friendship. Any time Lola needed someone Silas was her person. Lola never understood how much she didn’t know about Silas until her birthday. Every year on her birthday Silas ditches and she never understands. He goes to everyone else’s but always makes an excuse on hers. We know there is some reason he can’t stand her birthday but it hasn’t been fully explained yet. Only that Silas tells Lola he would destroy her and they could never be more than friends. They crossed that line a little bit. At Archers grandfathers lake house Silas fingered her into an orgasm and then went to the kitchen and left while she was sleeping leaving Lola even more confused on what just happened. Archer convinced Silas to go to Lola’s birthday. She didn’t think he’d show so she had gotten trashed and was giving Silas a lap dance when she asked him to fuck her and he didn’t know how to react and didn’t think so when he stood up. It threw Lola on her ass on the floor on her birthday and embarrassed her in front of all of her friends. She asks Silas to leave and then his step brother Trent shows up. We sense the tension between the two and Silas tries to keep Trent from seeing Lola. When he does he offers to buy her a drink. Lola walks away with Trent. Silas ends up leaving. Lola and Trent talk for hours about anything and everything and she gives him her number. Silas apologizes to Lola but she tells him she needs more she needs to understand why he hates her birthday but he isn’t ready to give that to her. Silas can feel his and Lola’s relationship falling apart. He has been so scared of losing Lola’s friendship that he would never pursue her farther. Because she’s the most important person in his life he couldn’t stand to ever lose her. Trent and Lola have hung out a few times but he’s been a gentleman. He invites her to a charity event with his family claiming Silas won’t be there that he never attends. But this time he does. And he snaps. Lola has gotten bits and pieces of the tension between Trent and Silas she knows it has something to do with a Kenny and a Sienna but that’s all she knows. Trent says something that fills Silas with rage and they begin to fight. Before Silas leaves he breaks his sobriety and downs the rest of Lola’s drink. Her and Trent go uostairs to calm down and Cassidy calls and says that Silas is at the bar pounding vodka and she needs to get there. Trent drives her and Silas goes crazy. Trent leaves and Silas tried to go for a walk but Lola follows him. He tells her he knows he needs to explain everything but he needs to calm down. Cohen takes Lola home and a few hours later Silas is ready to talk and he has Cohen take him to Lola’s. She cleans his face and blood from the fight and he tells her everything. His best friend when he was 18 was Kenny. Kenny’s younger sister was Sienna. He had always been a bad boy and a player but at 18 years old he believed he was in love with Sienna. But they hid their relationship from Kenny. Sienna kept begging him to just tell Kenny but Silas was so worried it would change everything. On the same date as Lola’s birthday they were all at a party and Kenny came upstairs with some other guys and they pulled Silas off Sienna and Kenny left with her. He heard Kenny tell Trent thanks for the heads up man. Trent had told Kenny what Silas and Sienna were doing. Silas took off in his car to meet Kenny and Sienna to try and explain but it was too late he watched Kenny take a curve too fast and crash the car and burn Kenny and Sienna alive right in front of him. He felt like a murderer. This whole time he believed if he let Lola love him he would kill her just like he killed Sienna that he’s unlovable. Sienna and Kenny’s parents banned him from the funeral. He sat in the car drinking a bottle of vodka when her cousin said he didn’t deserve to be allowed to numb his pain. And Silas took that to heart and vowed not to drink anymore because he didn’t deserve to numb his pain. But seeing Lola with Trent broke him he couldn’t stand to see her with him and realize he was going to lose her but he couldn’t numb his feelings for her. He tells Lola he loves her and she is his everything. Lola tells Silas that if anything that was Kenny’s fault not his and he can’t blame himself and that she loves him with all her being. Silas and Lola have sex for the first time and it was magical. As it always is in these books. Silas and Lola let the group know they’re together. And they all say about time. The whole group is all coupled up. Jamie and Cohen have had their baby. Grace and Finn have their baby. Cassidy and Lincoln have their baby. Lola, Silas, archer and Georgia are in a race to see who gets pregnant next. Silas and Lola win but Archer and Georgia are close behind. Archer and Georgia had a beautiful wedding. Silas has a ring but was waiting for the right time and knew Lola didn’t want to be pregnant. So 3 years after they have their daughter Amelia they get married. The book goes to 12 years after everyone was pregnant. And that’s when we find out when they got married, who all has babies. Sierra and Maliki have a son, Jax. Cohen and Jamie have a son Theo and their Noah. Silas and Lola have Amelia. Archer and Georgia had twins a boy and a girl. Finn and Grace had a girl to give Millie a little sister. Cassidy and Lincoln have 2 a boy and a girl. Lincoln, Silas and Finn were asked to be part owners of Twisted fox. Lola became president of 21st amendment but realized she didn’t want that responsibly and passed it on to Robbie I believe that’s her brother. At the end of the book they’re betting on who Amelia will marry someday. Georgias money is on Jax and Amelia because they can’t stand each other now and this is when we find out that there is a spin off series of their children and it’s Jax and Amelia’s story. So even more exciting we get to keep watching their family grow. This one was called the last round for a few reasons. At one point Lola quoted “as soon as the door clicks shut, the tears pour down my cheeks as if they were at the surface, waiting to find out Silas next move. He chose the cold shoulder. Silas is choosing to break us. I’m scared our relationship is on its last round and we’re going to lose.” But then at the end of the book she quotes “Silas and I might have been the last to get to our happily ever after. To admit we loved each other. But sometimes the last round means everything” Silas and Lola were the last round of friends to end up together. They connected them all. I loved this book and I can’t wait to read about their kids and the Beech series that’s the other spin off.

⭐️ 4.5 "You're My Everything" Stars ⭐️
I've been obsessed with the Twisted Fox Series since book one. I like this group of characters a lot and was dying to finally get my hands on Silas and Lola's book. As soon as Last Round landed on my kindle, I stopped everything I was doing to read their story. I was hooked from the start and couldn't stop reading until it was over.

"𝑭𝒖𝒄𝒌 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒓𝒖𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒖𝒑 𝒊𝒏 𝒂 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒄𝒂𝒈𝒆."

If I loved this book this much, why not rate it five stars you'll ask? The first half of the book consisted of multiple repetitive scenes from the previous books told from the Silas and Lola's pov this time around. Even if these moments were important to understand their relationship, I felt it gave nothing new to the story. I guess that for someone who hasn't read the other books, it might help them buy the connection between the couple though. Personaly, I just wanted for the story to finally continue where it ended in the timeline of the previous novel.

With this little critic out of the way, I must reveal that I truly adored this Silas and Lola. They're definitely one of my favorite pair in the series! Their chemistry is intense and perfect, but they keep fighting it to stay friends. The banter is everything between these two that are so alike with their sarcasm and no filter comments. I only wanted for them to finally take the plunge into a romantic relationship and when it happened I was so happy!

It was so nice to get more of all the Twisted Fox protagonists I'm so fond of. They are such a great group and their togetherness is everything I enjoy in a series of standalone novels.

“𝒀𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅. 𝑰 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒊𝒏 𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝑰’𝒗𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒆𝒍𝒔𝒆. 𝑫𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕.”

Last Round was a gorgeous friends to lovers story that left me breathless between all the angst, steam and humor! It concluded the Twisted Fox Series on a high. I wouldn't be opposed to a spin off second generation series. That's how much a love this world!

God for this to be the last book in the series it gave me everything I needed. Silas my buddy had some issues and he just let it build for so long he didn't know how to handle certain emotions. I'm actually surprised they waited years before exploring their friendship. I love how the book was written along with the others in the series. I felt liked they flowed together magically. There was no really retelling of what occurred in another book like just repeating info so the book could be longer. Lola was bad ass independent woman. I could not put this book down. Silas was pissing me off just a little when he couldn't make up his mind when it came to pursing a relationship with Lola like man up and have sexual relations with the girl already. The ending ending with the kids oh my god I can already see the match ups.

If you enjoyed this book you should To Be Your Wife and Only You.

Ahh it’s a bitter sweet end to this series. But I loved every darn minute!

Silas and Lola stole my heart.

Their friendship was amazing to see grow, add on their very obvious chemistry and you have yourself a five star friends to lovers read.

I loved reading their relationship develop through the series. Glimpses of past times was very nostalgic.

That epilogue though! Second generation crossover?? Yes please! I cannot wait to see these couple all grown up!

Honestly this was cute and a fast listen but Lola pissed me off more than I typically like. Her whole defiant moment with Trent (the ONE guy Silas hates) had me wishing he would end up with someone else at one point. Glad they figured their shit out but wow

Last Round is the long anticipated story of Silas and Lola in Charity Ferrell's Twisted Fox series- and I must say that it 100% did not disappoint. And while Last Round is a part of an interconnected series the way she wrote this book, you could completely pick it up without having read any of the others and be right on the same page as everyone else. Any particularly important moments from the other books were also touched upon in this story as well.

Now onto the good stuff...

Lola and Silas' story spans across all the years of their friendship from when they first kind of disliked each other- though that was more Lola than Silas, to the beginnings of their friendship. Their banter was phenomenal. I would sit there cracking up at the quick wit and absurdities that they would toss back and forth at each other.

Of course there was always that little current of attraction and tension just simmering below the surface as well, but their friendship was so perfectly portrayed. This was a SLOOOW BURN too- and even from their first kiss and line crossed it was still another torturous but well played simmer until Lola and Silas went all in. Once they did though? So intense and so hot.

But the thing that had me hooked and unable to put this book down (despite the pain and troubles that awaited me from getting too little sleep) was needing to figure out what the tragedy that was lurking in Silas' past was all about.

And oh Silas... sweet, funny, life of the party though mildly mysterious Silas... there was such a gut wrenching broken man buried in there. Lola might have had her hang ups or "daddy issues" when it came to relationships but Silas had a whole fleet of pain and scars that she had to wade through in order to reach his heart.

So much of this book had me laughing and felt fun, but there is also so serious angst and drama happening too. It was so well done though. I literally did not stop reading until I had finished it was that good. Each chapter I would think "ok, it's getting late so I'll stop after this one" but then something would happen on those pages and I would need a little bit more or I wouldn't be able to stop thinking about it.

Silas and Lola might have been the last of their friends to profess their love- but their love story was a long time coming!
