One sister is a powerful witch. One is a singer with a magical gift. Both are dealing with ghosts from their past.Eliza Dragonsong is a lawyer by day and a Wiccan high priestess by night. Her unique skillset comes in handy in the courtroom, and also when she’s asked to guard an ancient, cursed stone from the dangerously charming Ivan Rochat. Although he’s a former art thief with a questionable past, Eliza still finds herself drawn to him, and soon realizes she has to guard more than just the stone. She has to guard her heart as well.Amanda Dragonsong is nothing like her older half-sister. Shy and self-conscious, she’s a woman with a beautiful voice, but that gift also comes with a curse. Her lullabies make people fall asleep, and her sad songs make them cry, but it’s her love songs that cause the most trouble. Returning home in the middle of a crisis seems like her best option, but it also means facing her childhood crush, the handsome firefighter Tommy Belfiore—the only man she ever truly loved. Two sisters. Two extraordinary gifts. One chance to make all their dreams come true.

Umm did Abigail Drake just become one of my newly discovered fav authors? I’m obsessed just after two books.
Eliza Dragonson is bad bitch. Love to see a woman in charge that takes control. She’s a lawyer and a powerful witch. She’s been tasked with keeping a dangerous ruby from getting in the wrong hands, and those wrongs hands happen to be the guy she’s destined to be with - so it’s a slight problem.
Amanda Dragonsong is the quintessential nice girl who lets everyone walk all over her. Her singing voice can makes people feel intensely and unfortunately that’s landed her with a stalker and a seriously out of control mother. I was a bit worried she wouldn’t be able to stand her ground by the end, but glad it happened.
Now onto my next Abigail book cause I can’t get enough…
These books are just so much fun! And I have to confess, my favourite part were the chapter titles, which for Eliza were word mash-ups (e.g., "Irrightional: someone who believes she's always right") and for Amanda were mondegreens, when you mishear the lyrics of a song (e.g., "Like a virgin, touched for the thirty-first time").
I do hope there are more books in this series (this is the third) because I've enjoyed them all tremendously!
Another fabulous tale from Abigail Drake. My only complaint about this book is that it had to end! Grab ahold of this title and enjoy Drake’s storytelling today. It will pull you in!
The third book in the Southside Series.... well just like the others it didn't disappoint me, such a truly magical, lovely, warm cosy read. I would go as far to say that this book was definitely my favourite out of the three books.
Eliza Dragonsong is a formidable character, a bad bitch with witchy senses.... a female character with power, ambition, love and understanding. A powerful women in her own right!
Such beautiful magical writing, gribbing you from page one of the book until the end... I'm sad I've finished it now!
Thank you Abigail Drake for taking me and my imagination on a wicked, witchy, magical and wild ride.
Anyone reading this review wondering if you should read these three books do yourself a favour and do it.... you won't be disappointed!
This was a well-written, entertaining story. It was actually two romances in one book. Eliza was introduced in the first two books of the series. In Hocus Pocus Magic Shop, she was given a dangerous, black magic item to keep safe from Ivan who was trying to steal it. However, love is a powerful magic all its own, and these two are destined to get their HEA. Eliza's sister, Amanda, was introduced in the second book of the series. She has the voice of an angel that has the ability to mesmerize people. Her voice doesn't affect Tommy who has been in love with her for years. The feeling is mutual and before long, these two are on their way to an HEA. There was plenty of drama and suspense to keep me engaged from beginning to end. I do wish more of the characters from the first two books could have been involved in this story. I urge you to read the entire South Side series.
I just adore Abigail Drake and her amazing writing style. I laughed so much in this book and was so dang mesmerized that I couldn't wait to pick up and start reading each time I stopped.
I was fully invested in this book and the characters. Eliza is so dang strong and I love love love her no nonsense attitude. Amanda really grew as a character and I LOVED that. She really came out of her shell and it was a beautiful thing. These 2 sisters are #goals. The motherly love that Eliza gives Amanda was so stinking special.
Ivan and Tommy's character blended in so well with these 2 sisters that it just seemed flawless.
The clever "one liners" at the beginning of each chapter were my by far my FAVORITE part of these Southside Stories.
Fantastorize: To get excited about what is going to happen next in a book.
“Sometimes, all it takes is a shift in perception to accept a new reality."
This is the story of the Dragonsong sisters: Eliza and Amanda. Both share the same father but different mothers. Eliza, the lawyer is a white witch, and Amanda has a voice... well, let's just leave it at that because it's a subplot in the story.
Eliza has Ivan, Amanda has Tommy. But do they really? Ivan has major history that makes him a problem. And Amanda's history and low self esteem make her a possible problem for Tommy.
Weave all this into the coven, family and friends of the South Side Stories and thank Abigail Drake for an absolutely fabulous finale of the series ( unless it isn't) Highly Recommended 5/5
I looooove the wordmashes - mantrum, flawesome, pregrets, internest, they are gold. And I love the chapter titles - adapted from song lines. thoroughly enjoyed the story too. I received this as a complimentary copy from the author and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Can a man change his ways for love? This is not one but two love stories of two entirely different sisters, but as we all know, the road to love has many potholes, and therefore, this tale isn't as straight forward as one could want, but there are HEA'S in both cases.
Eliza Dragonsong is a lawyer & Wiccan high priestess, Amanda Dragonsong is different but has a beautiful singing voice. This story has both sisters in romances with major changes in their lives.
Really enjoyed reading this interesting and cute book just as much as the others in this series and highly recommend that you do as well. Looking forward to reading more by Abigail Drake.
I thoroughly enjoyed the third book in the South Side series. Drake's characters are flushed out and believable. Two Dragonsong sisters means 2x the romances and mystery. I hope there will be further books in the series because I need to see more of this magical neighborhood.
An engaging paranormal read with well-developed characters, romance, and mystery. With twice the magic, danger, and love, the Dragonsong sisters' intertwined stories keep things exciting. Unfortunately, the two intertwined stories end up "stealing" space from the development and trajectory of each couple's romance.
One of my favorite series. And this book is one of my favorites in the series. I hope she does more. I can see so many different shops from the south side being added to this series.
