In order to prove herself to her parents, free-spirited Allie Adams undertakes the responsibility of delivering her grandparents’ newly-restored ’57 Chevy for their 50th wedding anniversary party. But an unfortunate oversight forces her to make the road trip with Luke Fletcher, the man who callously broke her heart years ago.
The journey soon dissolves into a series of misfortunes, obliging the antagonistic travelers to spend even more time together. As they overcome challenges and obstacles, they remember the spark that once flared between them. But they must decide if they’re willing to risk their hearts again—or if the personal cost is simply too great.
Pining for You by Melissa Ferguson
Theo Watkins III is a respectable man—the kind who drives a Tesla, not a tractor. But when he discovers that the caretaker of his family-inherited Christmas tree farm is injured during planting season, he drives up to support the man who has been like a father to him.
Three months into her move back to the family farm, Skye Whitesides expected to run into Theo eventually. What she didn’t expect was for Theo to offer up his services for the farm. Not that he has any services—her childhood best friend and the man who broke her heart seventeen years ago wouldn’t know which part of the shovel was the handle. As the two are forced to work together, she finds herself lowering her guard and starting to trust Theo. Is he truly the man she hopes him to be, or will he break her heart again?
He Loves Me; He Loves Me Not by Kathleen Fuller
Thirty-five-year-old Sophie has spent years making her floral shop, Petals and Posies, a success, and her love life has suffered. She’s avoided romance since her ex broke her heart, but now she’s ready to start dating again.
Joe, also thirty-five, has known Sophie since kindergarten, but sparks have never flown between them. He’s finally decided to get back into the dating pool after spending the past fifteen years coaching, teaching, and working with underprivileged kids. He decides to ask out Sophie. But to his dismay, someone else is also vying for her attention.
Should Sophie listen to Joe—and her heart? Or should she take a chance with Landon, the slick lawyer she’s also attracted to? Will Joe, who hates conflict, do the easy thing and let Sophie and Landon be together? Or force himself out of his comfort zone because he is unable to let her go?
Denise Hunter is the award-winning author of more than 40 novels, three of which have been adapted into Hallmark movies.
Denise writes heartwarming, small-town romances, peopled with layered characters who have real-life issues. Her readers enjoy the vicarious thrill of falling in love and the promise of a happily-ever-after sigh as they savor the final pages of her books.
In 1996, Denise began her first novel, writing while her children napped. Two years later it was published, and she's been writing ever since. Her books contain a strong romantic element, and her husband says he provides all her romantic material, but Denise insists a good imagination helps too!
Denise and her husband live in Indiana, where they raised three sons, and are currently enjoying an empty nest.
This group of three Christian romance novellas is a fun, quick read of second chances and late starts to dating. I have read Denise Hunter's books and always enjoy them. This was a mini visit back to North Georgia and the town of Copper Creek in A Summer Detour. A trip to Pennsylvania for Allie's grandparents' 50th anniversary gives Allie and Luke a chance to spend time together and maybe heal their broken relationship. I liked Luke and wanted to shake Allie at times although her parents were partly to blame. This is the first time that I have read Melissa Ferguson. Like Denise's story, Pining for You is a story about Skye and Theo, a couple who broke up years ago and are now thrown together by circumstances. They are in a position to mend their differences from the past. However, there are a lot of misunderstandings and hurts to overcome. Can it happen? In Kathleen Fuller's He Loves Me; He Loves Me Not, we visit Maple Falls, Arkansas (from Hooked On You) where Sophie, owner of a flower shop, and Joe, high school teacher and coach, have known each other since kindergarten but aren't friends. Both are ready for a relationship that might lead to marriage. Can they get together? They certainly have a rough start. This was probably my favorite of the three stories because I liked both characters and it was fun to watch their relationship progress. I received a complimentary ARC from Thomas Nelson Publishers and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.
READ FOR ENDORSEMENT Romance readers are in for a sweet treat! Authors Denise Hunter, Melissa Ferguson, and Kathleen Fuller have joined forces for a novella collection all about second chances, making the most of them when they’re right in front of you, and fighting for them with everything you’ve got when necessary. Come for this trio of talented storytellers and stay for the humor, heart, and confident hope that there will be a happily ever after, This Time Around.
Short and sweet novellas that can each be read in just a couple of hours. The first 2 are second-chance romances and of the three, Denise Hunter’s and that racoon have to be my favorite. 🦝
I was expecting a Christian novella series since these authors are known for that genre. While they are a clean read , I was disappointed in some values presented. Not a word of Christian content was found. I feel much was lost that could have made these more significant. There were some cute scenes but overall, I would skip this collection. *I borrowed this ebook through Prime Reading. All opinions are my own.*
*Warnings* #1 This is a long review, so pull up a chair and grab a bowl of popcorn. You’ll be here awhile. #2 When I read a review, I want substantial information. So I will not skimp on the details. Which may mean some spoilers, so watch out.
Stars: 3.5
Synopsis: This collection is comprised of three novellas about rekindling lost love and gaining a second chance at romance!
All in all, this is a sweet and clean collection of romantic novellas. The settings are all unique and all the premises have great promise—however, a couple of the stories just weren’t executed well for a novella; they needed to be lengthened and developed more.
Also, my only real qualm with the collection as a whole is that none of these stories have anything to do with God or Christianity—a very sad thing, considering Denise Hunter writes Christian fiction, Kathleen Fuller writes Amish fiction, and I’m sure Melissa Ferguson is a Christian herself...not to mention this was published by a Christian publisher.
So, yeah, that was a bummer. I would’ve liked just a hint, even, of God, considering I could easily read Mormon fiction with more Jesus and Godly values presented than in here. Otherwise, I’mma give a brief review of each individual story!

A Summer Detour – Denise Hunter – 4 stars – Allie Adams calls upon her ex-boyfriend and family friend Luke Fletcher in her desperate time of need...for a driver. She only needs him for a day to deliver her grandparents’ anniversary gift of her grandfather’s old Chevy. As soon as the anniversary party is over, they’ll go their separate ways again. Right?
I’ve heard a myriad of good things about Denise Hunter—particularly from my friend Sophia, who has absolutely fabulous taste—so I actually decided to read this collection because of her. What better way to get acquainted with her work, eh?
And, believe it or not, Hunter is also the only author in this collection I’d like to read more of! Her story was well-developed and flowed smoothly despite its length, and the premise was both unique and realistic!
Allie and Luke weren’t as fleshed-out as they would’ve been in a novel, yes, but they didn’t fall flat. And Hunter’s writing? Y’all, she actually surprised me! I was honestly expecting a more women’s fiction style, so when I noticed a bit of sarcasm and wit, I was pleasantly shocked! Hunter managed the perfect balance of authorly maturity and contemporary flair in her prose, which I loved!
All in all, definitely my favorite of the collections and a great glimpse into Hunter’s writing! I’ll certainly be reading more of hers!

Pining for You – Melissa Ferguson – 2.5 stars – Skye Fuller was supposed to never see her ex Theo Watkins again...but when she moves back home to help her parents and her father has an accident and her mother calls Theo (who just so happens to be the owner of the Christmas tree farm her father manages)...well, let’s just say she runs back into her childhood best friend and the man who broke her heart, and it ain’t pretty. (There’s mud. And snakes. And possibly a bear or two.)
It breaks my heart to not be able to say the same for Melissa Ferguson, however. I’ve heard just as many good things, but unfortunately, this story totally missed the mark! I’d expected something quirky and funny; instead, I was left with an undeveloped and rush story that inspired more quizzically raised eyebrows than hearty chuckles.
For starters, the general idea was way too similar to Hunter’s story just before. I mean, childhood friends fall in love, guy goes off to college and they drift apart, girl moves away, girl comes back and ends up reconnecting with the guy when her family needs help. Like...seriously. I know all the other elements and the characters were vastly different, but I still can’t get over how they used the same relationship model there.
Unfortunately, Ferguson didn’t pull it off as well. The beginning was really confusing, and the rest of the story seemed so rushed! I felt like Theo and Skye’s one day of reconnecting wasn’t enough to get Theo to break things off with his “perfect girlfriend,” and of course the ending was too cliché and still too rushed. I needed more substance, I suppose, and something to connect me with the characters.
Speaking of, I wanted to like Theo. I wanted to like him so bad, and I think his character was supposed to be unique and hilarious, but y’all. He was not hero material. I mean, within his element, yes, but outside of it as the butt of several jokes? No. I just couldn’t connect with him or feel for him what Skye did...and Skye herself was kind of annoying.
Had this been longer, it probably would’ve been much better. I mean, a Christmas tree farm is a pretty epic setting, and I think had Ferguson had more length to work with, she could’ve developed Theo into the character he was meant to be.
But alas, such was not the case.
***
He Loves Me; He Loves Me Not – Kathleen Fuller – 2.5 stars – Independent small business owner Sophie Morgan is finally entering the dating scene. For the first time ever. And within the first day, she’s already got two offers—her dream guy who promises her a lifetime of wining and dining, and the burly high school football coach who is everything she’d never want in a man. One date is a disaster...and the other one is, well, just as disastrous, but suffice to say there ends up being many more not-so-disastrous dates after it.
I’ve already sworn off Kathleen Fuller, but apparently I’m a glutton for punishment. I should have known not to read anything else by her again...but I did. Her story did break the mold—it was nothing like the first two, and it was interesting and different enough to have probably been really good.
But y’all. First off, way too rushed. Like, the premise she chose shouldn’t have even been an option for a novella. She ended up skipping through so much critical information/scenes and leaving us with a threadbare plot and very little development. That in turn made the story seem so unrealistic.
And seriously, I would give anything for a nice slow-burn romance right about now, because the way Fuller wrote Sophie and Joe’s whole falling in love process was so dumb. Like, how realistic is it for you to all of a sudden feel all mushy-gushy for someone you’ve known all your life but never saw in a romantic light? And then to run off and marry them two months later?
Yeah, I don’t see that marriage lasting.
I totally understand suddenly being physically attracted to someone or developing romantic feelings for someone you’d not previously felt said feelings for over a period of time...but just up and OH! I’mma date somebody for the first time in all my thirty-five years (or, in Joe’s case, since my wife left me), and it’s gonna be YOU, because I just LOVE you and you have got insane biceps and dude, let me just pant over you and drip slobber all over your shirt.
Admit it, it’s unrealistic. Had, say, Sophie and Joe dated through high school or been best friends before Joe married Jenna, then they drifted apart, but now circumstances have brought them back together and they have a second chance at love, I would’ve believed ya. But I guess that wasn’t what Fuller was going for. I get that. Just...save that idea for a full-length novel, and please, I BEG YOU, add some emotional depth to the romance. The characters MUST connect on an emotional level before they can even consider being romantically involved. And I don’t mean the emotional connection between a random person and a stray kitten...I mean an actual binding connection over shared experiences, values, opinions, interests...something that allows them to have a conversation with each other rather than them just standing there gawking at each other. I’m not even asking for spiritual connections any more. I know I’m not getting that from Kathleen Fuller, so the least anyone can do is provide me with some emotion.
Anyway. Yeah, a full-length novel might have sold me. Unfortunately, this plot (especially the whole deal with Landon) was just way too much for something so short, so the execution was way off.
***
Short stories short (yeah, that makes no sense, but “long story short” wouldn’t really fit, now would it?), this collection is perfect for a few quick, short romantic reads! However, only one of them hit it home for me, because the other two seemed to try and jam too much into such a short story, so keep in mind that things may be a little rushed and unsatisfying. The stories are all still fun and sweet, though!

This is a sweet collection of engaging stories. The first two were enjoyable, but my favorite of them all was He Loves Me; He Loves Me Not. It's set in the small town of Maple Falls and is connected to her Maple Falls series which each feature a character from a group of friends who have businesses that are working to revitalize their community. In this novella, Sophie runs the flower shop (which is my fantasy job) and is looking to date one of the slim pickings of single men in the area. She has a rocky history with Joe, which makes her write him off at first, but I loved the way he persevered and proved himself to her. Overall, the stories in this collection are a well-balanced blend of relationship angst, gentle humor, and sweet romance.

Awwww is all I could say after reading this novella. Denise Hunter knows her craft very well. I smiled aver and iver again as I progressed through the story. Allie's and Luke's feud was just so cute. The undercurrent between them was palpable despite the grudge. I admired the courage it took both of them to face their fears and evovle through the story.
Pinning For You by Melissa Ferguson
Sweet story of love lost and love found.
Theo and Skye were just adorable. I admired how Theo loved Skye and her family. It was really sweet and kind. They found their way back to each other in the most adorable of ways. Definitely swoon worthy.
He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not by Kathleen Fuller.
This one made me laugh. I loved the characters except Ladon off course. The story warmed my heart that made me smile. I liked how Joe wooed Sophie. Thiers was absolutely beautiful with the funny tension between them.
These novellas are heartwarming and sweet. Highly recommended.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and this is my honest opinion.
This Time Around is a fun collection of second chance stories. If you are looking for a quick, clean contemporary romance novella, any of these three stories could be a good choice. I enjoyed all three of them.
The first two novellas were stories where the main characters received the chance to right the wrongs of years earlier, forgive each other, and find love together again. The third novella involves two people who knew each other all through school, yet were never in a romantic relationship. However, many years later, they are finally giving dating a chance. All three stories have humorous moments and serious moments peppered throughout. This was a fun collection to read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Cute collection of stories. All short sweet romances with some humor and fun elements thrown in. Denise's story was my favorite of the trio. Quick easy read.
What I Loved: From start to finish, these three stories were the perfect fit for my weary little mind. I cannot praise this one enough. It had all the elements I look for in a relaxing, summer read. Location: Smalltown USA. More specifically, mountains! I loved the cozy mountain settings. Lots of trees and a bit of wildlife. From the setting, to the people of the setting, I felt right at home and welcomed in their story world. Romance: Each novella contained a perfectly seasoned romance, all of them a second chance of sorts. One had a fun road trip, another a big secret, and another a really bad first impression. It’s not always easy to write a solid novella but these were expertly done. The chemistry was there, but the stories never felt rushed. Spiritual thread: There was something in each story drawing you back to the Lord and keeping everything nice and clean. The characters clearly lived Christian lifestyles. Since each story is a novella, that makes this collection bite-sized as well as light and breezy. Honestly, I can’t think of a better summer read to recommend, and I’ll certainly be rereading it myself later.
Rating and Recommendations: I’m giving This Time Around 5 stars. I highly recommend it to those looking for Christian Contemporary, Second chance romance, or romance novellas.
~ I received a copy from NetGalley. All thoughts are my own. I was not compensated for this review or required to give a favorable one.
I was looking for something fun, sweet, and short; this novella collection fit the bill perfectly. As a fan of Denise Hunter and Melissa Ferguson, I had high expectations from these two authors and they totally delivered. Kathleen Fuller is a new-to-me author and I quite enjoyed her story; I’ll be on the lookout for her books in the future.
This book has three short romantic stories by three different authors. The stories are clean and sweet and I could picture them all being a Hallmark movie. I enjoy books like this because it gives someone who has never read a particular author a glimpse into their writing. The authors are Denise Hunter, Melissa Fersuson and Kathleen Fuller. *I was given a copy of this book by Thomas Nelson Publishers and this is my honest opinion.
What a delightful trio of novellas this way! I thoroughly enjoyed each story. I have long been a fan of Denise Hunter's work, so I pretty much knew hers would be good. I've read the second author a time or two and the third none at all. I really enjoyed their contributions. This would make a great vacation read. Neither are very long and all are satisfying.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson Publishing through Net Galley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I love novellas because you can read one in just a couple hours - great for an evening after a long day at work! Of course, romance novellas are my favorite, and This Time Around offers three great stories!
A Summer Detour by Denise Hunter
This novella is really cute! Sometimes, I feel like novellas are too rushed, but this one works well because Allie and Luke have a past, so it's not a super-quick falling in love. While some of the plot points felt clichéd and predictable, the journey was still enjoyable. Also, there were several genuine laugh out loud moments, which I always enjoy! (Keep an eye out for a raccoon and Grandpa's hearing difficulties!) The chemistry between Allie and Luke was spot on (this is a Denise Hunter novella, after all). It's a great way to spend an hour or two of your time. 4 stars.
Pining for You by Melissa Ferguson
This is a sweet second chance romance. The romance between Skye and Theo was nice but not incredibly gripping. I was actually most interested in learning about what was going on with Skye's dad! I appreciated that there were serious issues at play, and the conflict between Skye and Theo stemmed from some of those issues - it brought an element of "realness" to the story. I enjoyed reading this novella, though it's not one that will stick with me. 3 stars.
He Loves Me; He Loves Me Not by Kathleen Fuller
Oh my goodness! The only thing I've read by Kathleen Fuller in the past is a few of her Amish novels and novellas, back when I was still reading Amish fiction more than a decade ago ... but this novella is spectacular! It's not overly complex; there aren't giant twists and turns, but it's oh so delightful and romantic. I loved Sophie (probably because I could see a bit of myself in her), and Joe was so great. Two weeks after reading it, I'm still thinking about it ... and to me, that's the mark of a good story. 5 stars.
Disclosure of material connection: I received this book from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review, and the opinions expressed are my own.
Three couples get a second chance at finding a lasting love.
A Summer Detour by Denise Hunter Allie struggles to be taken seriously by her family, so when the opportunity comes up for her deliver her grandparents vintage Chevy as an anniversary surprise she takes it. But she can't drive stick, she she asks her former high school flame for help.
A sweet story about reconnecting high school sweethearts, and the road trip that brings them back together. My heart went out to Allie who was trying her best to prove to her family that she could be trusted with the big things. I liked that Luke owned up to the fact that he hadn't treated Allie well in the past, and wanted to move forward. A quick read about giving love another chance.
Pining for You by Melissa Ferguson Theo Watkins drops everything for the chance to win back the girl that got away, but can he get Skye to look past his big city ways.
Theo is a man who has it all, except for the one that got away. Theo is a sweet man, though timing isn't always his friend. Skye is skeptical of the big city businessman that she once knew so well, I loved her parents and how much they love what they do. A second chance romance in a picturesque mountain town. A fun clean read.
He Loves Me; He Loves Me Not by Kathleen Fuller Sophie Morgan has spent years building her business, letting her dating life go by the wayside. Suddenly she has two men vying for her attentions.
A cute romance about jumping back into dating after a long time off. A fun read, entertaining and humorous. I liked Joe, he's just as awkward as she is. And I thought it was a unique spin on the second chance at love theme.
A fun collection of novellas, with great characters!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This Time Around is a great collection of romances! All three stories are so romantic and perfect for romance readers.
A Summer Detour by Denise Hunter is probably my favorite out of the stories. It centered around Allie who is enlisted to drive her grandparent's 57' Chevy to her parent's house for her grandparent's anniversary party. She is the youngest in the family and a free spirit so her mother always makes her feel incapable of completing everyday tasks. She wants to prove to her family that she can be trusted to get the truck from point A to point B.
Of course, things don't go according to plan and needs to find someone who can drive a stick shift. She ends up having to call Luke, the man who broke her heart oh so many years ago. Luke is very closed off and is shocked to hear from Allie. He agrees to go on this road trip with her.
Their journey is full of ups and down yet their chemistry still shines through. I loved their story and getting to know these characters.
I give A Summer Detour 5 stars. It's a second chance romance that left me rooting for Allie and Luke the entire time. They are so different but readers will see how perfect they are for each other.
This Time Around is a collection of three novellas that feature second chance romances. From best friends to old flames, Denise Hunter, Melissa Ferguson and Kathleen Fuller give their characters a second shot at love. Notes, despite the Christian publisher and authors, these novellas do not reference faith, God or Christianity.
A Summer Detour is the first and my favourite in the collection. Probably not surprising as it’s by Denise Hunter and I love her writing style. In A Summer Detour Allie begs her family for a chance to prove herself and is tasked with driving her grandparents’ beloved restored Chevy to their anniversary party. The only problem is that she can’t drive manual. Luke Fletcher is the only one she can think of who might be able to help - her parents’ neighbour and the man who broke her heart years ago. She’s kept her distance since then but hours in the car, a hail storm, detour, dog with digestion problems and other mishaps later, maybe she and Luke can sort through the hurt and find a way to a future together. This novella is light and funny, yet I really felt for the way Allie believes her parents don’t trust her or see her as capable. Luke has always seen Allie’s worth and this road trip is the perfect opportunity for him to redeem himself in Allie’s eyes and prove he’ll always be there for her.
Pining for You by Melissa Ferguson is the second book the in collection and another novella I really enjoyed. Again, mishaps and humour bring our two characters together. Skye has returned home to the farm her parents work at, appalled by the conditions they are living in and the low salary her father receives. The man to blame is her childhood best friend, farm owner and once boyfriend, Theo Watkins. Theo has always been better suited to the boardroom than outdoors, but when Skye’s father is injured, he rushes to the farm and is shocked to find that Skye has returned home. Theo and Skye share so much history. Working together (well, Skye works and Theo freaks out about snakes, spiders, bears and other things that might get him), Theo knows this is his chance to prove to Skye the mistakes are in the past and he is the man for her, but Skye is scared history will repeat itself and she’ll be left hurt. The history Theo and Skye share shine through this book and make their quick reunion so poignant and it’s so easy to see them fall back together. They are very sweet together and the humour in the book, as well as the deeper topics touched upon make this a very enjoyable novella. It’s also worth noting that Theo is black and it is so utterly refreshing to finally, finally!! have some diverse characters in mainstream Christian fiction.
He Loves Me; He Loves Me Not is the third novella in the collection. Written by Kathleen Fuller, in this story Sophie and Joe (independently) have both decided it’s time for them to start dating. Sophie owns the local florist and is approached by both Joe and handsome Landon. Joe is a coach at the high school and he knows Landon is bad news. Sadly his attempt to ask Sophie out and warn her about Landon seems to backfire and she is left mad at him. It doesn’t take long for him to try again and he wants to prove to Sophie that they would be good together. The timing and backstory of this book fell flat and it was hard to believe these characters had lived in the same town for so long, written each other off and then so suddenly fell in love. We get a marriage within two months!!! After hardly knowing each other!! They only spend one date together. Also, the treatment of bees in this book is horrible. Bees are so important for our world and these characters are so quick to want them dead. Bees should never be killed with pesticide (for so many reasons, not least because their numbers are in decline). Even if they are the Africanised bees and not European honey bees (the characters would have been unable to tell) they should have been removed and not attacked and killed. It’s things like this, that a few minutes of research would have made clear was so wrong, along with a quick and unrealistic romance that made this story my least favourite of the collection.
The publishers provided an advanced readers copy of this book for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.

This is a sweet collection of second chance romances. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. In 'A Summer Detour', the story is about neighbors that had a secret romance when they were young. They have avoided each other until Allie reaches out for help to Luke to help deliver a surprise for her grandparents’ 50th anniversary. I didn't care much for this story. I found most of the characters were immature and the romance at times was a little too sweet. In 'Pining for You' Skye hasn't seen Theo in fourteen years since they broke up. With her father unable to take care of Theo's family tree farm, Theo tries to help Skye to take care of the farm and reconnect with Skye. I enjoyed the humor in this sweet romance. The last story ' He Loves Me; He Loves Me Not' is my favorite. Neither Sophie nor Joe have had a date in years. They have know each other since kindergarten, but have never really thought of dating. This is another good story with interesting characters, humor, and a sweet romance.
I don’t read allot of these books with multiple novellas in one, but I really liked two of the authors of these novellas and have listened to a couple of the other author’s books and enjoyed them so when this was available in audiobook form thru hoopla, I decided to listen to it. I’m not mad about it. Fun, sweet stories. Nothing earth shattering or mind blowing, but sweet, clean and entertaining reads.
For lovers of happily ever afters—this collection of three light and sweet romance stories will sweep you off your feet.
In A Summer Detour by Denise Hunter, you’ll meet free-spirited Allie Adams, who undertakes a road trip to deliver her grandparents’ newly restored ’57 Chevy in time for their fiftieth anniversary party . . . along with Luke Fletcher, the former boy-next-door who callously crushed her heart.
My thoughts: Denise Hunter is one of my favorite romance authors and this novella was adorable. I simply loved it. Second chance at love and yet the road to happiness was paved with unexpected potholes. I laughed. I cried. I didn't want the story to end. In fact I went back and read it again.
Pining for You by Melissa Ferguson invites you to a cozy Virginia mountain town where Christmas tree farm owner Theo Watkins III has the opportunity to drop everything for one weekend to play farmer and potentially win back the heart of his childhood best friend, Skye Fuller. Only problem? He’s the kind of man who drives a Tesla, not a tractor.
My thoughts: This is a relatively new author for me. In fact this is only the second story of hers that I've read. I can't say that I'm really a fan. A gentleman farmer and a farm girl what an unlikely pair. I learned more about spiders than I ever wanted to know. There were some funny moments.
Last but not least, He Loves Me; He Loves Me Not by Kathleen Fuller will transport you to a small town in Arkansas where thirty-five-year-old Sophie Morgan has spent years making her flower shop a success. But when this workaholic decides she’s ready to make time for dating again, she finds herself with two handsome men vying for her attention.
My thoughts: the story was kind of nondescript. It was pleasant, a good read, but nothing about it really stands out. Maybe that was the intent. Love when you're least expecting it.
Whether your perfect romance involves rows and rows of Fraser firs and white pines glinting in the moonlight, childhood love that never ends, or a second chance at a happily ever after, you’re sure to find a story within this collection to warm your heart any day of the year.
Praise for This Time Around:

Perfect for lovers of sweet happily-ever-afters Stand-alone novella collection Book length: 80,000 words Includes discussion questions for book clubs
Overall thoughts: I would definitely buy this book. It was a good read and Denise Hunter's story was definitely worth it. I was given a copy free and all opinions are my own.
If you’re looking for a light and short summer read, this book has it for you! Composed of three shorter novellas within, this is the perfect book for when you don’t have time to immerse yourself into a full story. With a group of three different authors, it also means you can try stories from new authors without having to commit to something the length of an entire novel. So it’s a win-win!

A Summer Detour by Denise Hunter - This was a sweet second chance romance. Allie and Luke are both wonderful people. Allie is trying so hard to prove herself to her family. Luke wants to be loved. These two work well together and really get each other. I enjoyed this sweet romance.
Pining for you by Melissa Ferguson - Another sweet second chance romance. Poor guys fall in love, then go off to college and make idiots of themselves. Skye has a reason to be hurt. I love her forgiving spirit, even if it took a little while. Theo is a good guy, even if he is a little clueless at times. These two are sweet together.
He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not by Kathleen Fuller - Joe and Sophie are great. I love that this couple was a little older, mid-30s. Joe struggled a little in the love department, but I loved that he wouldn't give up or take no for an answer. Sophie was a lot of fun, yet awkward with guys. This story made me laugh several times.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through Netgalley, but this is my honest review.
A Summer Detour by Denise Hunter A sweet story with fun cameos by past Hunter characters. I feel like I needed more from the romantic plot line to truly root for Allie and Luke, but I enjoyed this short story. 3.5/5 stars
Pining For You by Melissa Ferguson Though others will likely find this story cute, it wasn’t for me. I didn’t love Theo or Skye and I just feel like something was missing. There were some fun moments though. 2.5/5 stars
He Loves Me; He Loves Me Not by Kathleen Fuller In terms of story, this one was my favorite in this collection. Though the relationship was a bit rushed, I liked Sophie and Joe and I’m excited for the possibility of seeing them again in future Maple Falls books. 4/5 stars
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Loved all three novellas! What a fun collection and quick read. Each story is wonderful. I highly recommend "This Time Around" for fans of second chances, sweet romances, and swoony characters. I really enjoyed each novella.
A Summer Detour by Denise Hunter Loved this story of Luke and Allie. They are just so cute despite Allie's 100-year grudge. Denise Hunter pens a fabulous second chance story. I just have to say I love the adventures Luke and Allie have trying to get her grandparents newly refurbished '57 chevy to her grandparents for their 50th anniversary. Luke is the last person Allie wanted to ask for help. I love her sweet grandparents, especially the hard-of-hearing Grandpa.
Pinning For You by Melissa Ferguson Such a sweet story of Theo and Skye finding each other and getting past previous hurts after many years. Romantic. Loved it! I love how they were best friends in their childhood, had a falling out after their friendship grew into something more, they have completely different skill sets which made for fun moments and ultimately their differences complimented one another
He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not by Kathleen Fuller. This one cracked me up. Enter Sophie and two guys who suddenly want to date her after a decade of not dating so she could focus on building up her business. Landon and Joe. Landon is the rich smooth-talking lawyer, and Joe is the awesome teacher and coach. However, Joe makes a terrible first impression. I loved this sweet story and the fun and romantic tension that is part of the love story between the best of the two men and Sophie.
Thank you to Net Galley for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.
This Time Around was a fun contemporary romance collection. I absolutely loved the first novella - it grabbed my attention right away and was such a good read! The characters were great and I could feel for the heroine. Perfect read for a summer road trip. ;)
The second novella was fine, but just didn't connect with me. I felt like the heroine was a little too quick to rush to conclusions. It was written well, but just not a favorite.
I liked the final novella. It wasn't as good as the first, but it was enjoyable. I liked seeing the heroine finally get her happily ever after.
All in all, a good summertime read. I recommend the audio version and it was read very well.

I loved these three reads and each quickly captured me, to the point I didn't want to leave, but there were more, until the last page was turned.
Three of my favorite authors, and three novella's, yes, I was quickly wanting to read!
We all make assumptions, and each of these stories let years fall by before the main characters meet again, and we are there to see what happens, and the cause of the separation.
Then the reuniting, simple, no. Wait until you read about bringing the treasured car to her grandparents, from the moment Allie sits in the restored car. Next, the theorization of what her Dad is being paid after years of service, this has Skye has her hackles up. The final read we have sweet Sophie with no dates for a long time, and within minutes she has two, we get to see which one wins.
Don't miss these quick lingering page turners.

This Time Around is a collection of three novellas. I really enjoyed A Summer Detour by Denise Hunter and Pining for You by Melissa Ferguson. I love second chance stories and especially love the writing style of these authors. I have enjoyed every book I've read by them. Kathleen Fuller is a new author for me. Her story, He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not, was less enjoyable to me. There wasn't as much backstory to make it believable, in my personal opinion. All in all, if you're looking for sweet, easy to read stories, this collection fits the bill.

I am a big fan of novellas and This Time Around is a wonderful novella collection. It includes “A Summer Detour” by Denise Hunter, “Pining for You” by Melissa Ferguson, and “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not” by Kathleen Fuller.
Each story has characters who knew each other in the past and have met again as different people in the present. If you have read any of the authors’ other stories you will recognize some characters and settings and feel like you are coming home. If the authors are new to you, I guarantee you will want to find their other books and read more! I found each one charming and loved their small town setting. .
This Time Around has three novellas filled with sweet romance, wonderful characters, and a happily ever-after. I found this the perfect summer time read. Each story is a delight and I highly recommend this book. .
