PRAY: Finding Ways For Ordinary People To Connect With God In All Of Life

Rate this book
A global pandemic, economic depression, raging unemployment, mass evictions, rampant homelessness, political and corporate corruption, election fraud, manipulative and deceptive news media, endless wars, televised murder by bad cops, violent riots in the streets, censoring and canceling of free speech, child sex-trafficking rings involving presidents, princes, and prime ministers—these are the news stories...today. Our world is fraught with dark and twisted chaos. Many of us feel hopeless and helpless. How can we make sense of it all? Where can we turn to find courage, and hope? Is there anything we can do? Yes! This book is about a simple and yet powerful way for you to bring about change in your life and in this world. It is a book about prayer, but more than that, it is about personally connecting with God. He is wiser, more powerful, more righteous, and more loving than we can imagine. He is also motivated to see transformation begin, and He wants you and me to take part in that. This book calls you to join God in becoming an agent of good in this dark world. Are you willing to join this adventure? What have you got to lose? PRAY is a practical and easy-to-read book full of inspiring stories and examples. Each chapter offers something you can begin to do today to see change happen. The solutions are as simple as bringing peace to your own heart, and as wide ranging as global transformation. You do not have to be powerless or hopeless any longer.

I’ve read 4-5 of Neil Cole’s books, they’ve all been really good (I’m still in a Life Transformation Group) I gave this one 4 stars because it is a refresher of prayer, why to pray and how to pray, but outside his stories, I didn’t find much new. I’ll keep reading and recommending his books. His writing is accessible and flows well.

Good motivation to pray

The book provides a lot of good encouragement to pray toward the end of a global movement of seeking after God. Neil gave a few examples of how he experienced how powerful prayer can be in affecting change.

I have read many books on prayer. This is in the top 3 of 8. Cole sets out to incite the Christian to pray. Although, not as theologically laden Cole brings to the table why praying is such an important expression of Christian faith. Cole challenges what we believe about this fundamental practice and motivates the reader to live prayerfully.
