Nienna’s not a librarian in Portland Oregon. Nope. Not anymore. She’s now in another world serving as a Historian to a population of elves. She’s obligated to a life of recording her visions in a tome. A tome which seems to be hellbent on recording her death and Alred’s heartbreak.
Niena and Alred—the hot elf she’s fallen for—are keeping secrets. From each other and the world. These two have to learn how to communicate before they bring about the death of the fae and the goblins.
Nienna and Alred draw closer to the conclusion of their story. As her most horrifying visions draw closer, both Historian and Protector try to alter their fate. If they succeed, elves and goblins benefit as well. But will vengeful gods fulfill their own selfish desires?
Once more, I wanted to enjoy this book a lot more, but poor editing and reliance on the shock of swear words detracted from the greater storyline.
With a book dictating her life, Nienna continues to have visions of the end, of everything. It's bleak, however she and Alred persevere to fight the good fight. This amazing series must be read in order, and is an incredible saga.
Loved the characters and the story story line with the whole series. However I found it too long and feel two books would have kept the excitement alive more. In saying this, the writing is smooth and flows well.
