Finding Vicki Sue is an engaging memoir full of history and insight which chronicles growing up in South Bend, Indiana as an adoptee in the 1960s and beyond. Fifty-six years after her birth, the author's adoption file was obtained which explains the missing piece of her life story. This book is an interesting read because along with the look back in time, the original adoption paperwork is scanned so the reader sees the social worker's original intake documents.
I saw on my facebook link to my junior high school that this book was availble on Amazon so I decided to check it out. I totally enjoyed this book mostly because it took place in places close to the neighborhood I grew up in and schools I attended. Also since my husband is adopted I found her search for answers to her birth very interesting. If you like history and a little mystery you will enjoy this very personal book. Thank you Barbara for sharing your story.
The writer did a wonderful job taking us through her experience of her adoption search. The historic research was so interesting. The original documents were amazing!
I am the author, I would like to invite you to read my book. I hope you will enjoy my story about growing up in South Bend Indiana as an adoptee, and finding my personal history.
