Trusting Molly

Rate this book
From New York Times bestselling author Susan Stoker comes a heart-pounding installment in the Silverstone series about a love-shy ex-military man and a beautiful scientist reeling from a family tragedy.

When Mark “Smoke” Chamberlin ventures into the Nigerian jungle with his team of government assassins, his mission is clear: get in, kill the target, and make it out alive. With his extensive military experience, Smoke has no problem heading into dangerous territory. When it comes to love, though, he’s always been a little wary. But then he meets the beautiful, intrepid Molly Smith.

Schoolteacher Molly has been trying to outrun a lifetime of bad luck, and now she finds herself kidnapped along with a hundred schoolgirls in the jungle. But when Smoke finds them, Molly thinks her luck might be turning around—until she returns to the US to find her beloved grandparents murdered.

Devastated by their deaths and mystified by the turn of events, Molly turns to Smoke for comfort. But as Molly and Smoke grow closer, a different threat emerges…one that will put their relationship to the test and their lives in grave danger.

My favorite part about Trusting Molly was the way Smoke fell instantly for Molly. He felt an immediate connection and he worked hard at keeping that connection and making something of it. He was protective and very caring towards Molly. He treated her like a queen. What could you possibly not like about that?

Molly was a bit harder for me, only because she had a bit of a negative personality. That is just a bit of a struggle for me and I wanted her to be better for Smoke. Good news is he coached her into taking less self blame and thinking more positively. Another win for Smoke's love and care for her.

Like a the rest of the series, the suspense in the book really keeps you engaged to what is happening in the book. I also really love seeing all the same main characters in each book. I can't wait for Gramps to get his HEA!

I have to admit, Trusting Molly is bit boring. The first part where Mark saved Molly is just cute. Meet cute moment in a not so cute moment. It kept me going.

After they back in States, it got boring. Misa Stoker fails to fill her story with some heat/ hot chemistry. I feel like Mark and Molly were roomate. Platonic roomate. The stalker plot is also boring. How many books that Miss Stoker had this stalker plot?? Too many.

Overall it is OK read.

Mark/Smoke falls for Molly...literally. Smoke and the rest of the team rescue her after she's been kidnapped in Nigeria. They help her get home and she finds out her grandparents (who raised her after her parents died) and dead. And the main suspect is her crazy ex. Molly goes home with Mark and the rest of the team. They help her recover and figure out what exactly happened to her grandparents. Along the way they fall in love and then the bad guy makes his move. Love how the previous heroines welcome her and help her adjust.

Can't wait for the final member of Silverstone to get his HEA.

I'm a fan of Susan Stoker who I think blends action and romance beautifully. This book, the third in the series, is another great example of this. From the beginning, Molly's story is full of action. Storm is in the middle of a rescue mission, specifically of the Boko Haram girls. Molly was also kidnapped because she was a teacher at that time. It was exciting and a great start to the book. After the rescue, the excitement continues with another arc involving a stalker but my favorite parts of the book were how she and Storm, or Mark, really got to know each other I adored Storm. He was sweet, protective and alpha, just like I love my book boyfriends. Molly was strong, brave and resilient and I loved her character. The book itself had some fantastic supporting characters, couples that were featured in the first 2 books, which I did not read but now, are on my TBR or even TBL list (since they are read and listen on amazon). Really, for anyone looking for a romantic suspense/action book with heart, every one of Susan Stoker's book seems to fit the bill in my opinion. Thanks to NetGalley for an early read.

Wow

Just amazing as always!! Loved this story and this series. Molly and mark/smoke were adorable. He is literally swoon worthy and so adorable my cute with his smoke like abilities and yet has moments of clumsiness around her. Lol. They just clicked from the moment he fell on her. Her life has been a bunch of losses and hurt from the luck she perceives to have none of/-‘folly molly’. He is drawn to her and need to have her in his life to protect and love. But first they need to eliminate a prior threat. Loved how we get to see all the previous fave characters and how welcoming they are to molly and their relationship. Loved the story. Can’t wait for gramps story.

I always know what to expect when I read a Susan Stoker book. I’m going to get a story that is action packed, full of excitement and danger, and of course hot and swoony romance. Trusty Molly did not disappoint.

“…I feel it here,” Mark said, putting a hand over his heart. Then he picked up one of her hands and put it on his chest. “Feel that? Feel how hard my heart’s beating? That’s for you, Mol.”

I listened to most of this story on audiobook and loved the narration. This author’s books are an addiction for me and I do not want to be cured!

Another very incredible story. Not only within the Silverstone-universe itself, but the whole Susan Stoker series. Molly's such a sweet girl, that has a Lot of self-issues though. Namely, bad luck wherever she goes. It seems everything she puts her mind to comes back to bite her in the a**. So it's a good thing Mark literally falls atop of her in the middle of the jungle. From the she seems to be good to go, but her past catches up with her and the whole Silverstone-crew might just be to late to safe the day. Very, very good story - though you might think there Just could be no more stories to be told with all the great books Susan already released. But again, she proved me wrong!

All the men of Silverstone are swoon worthy, and Smoke will make you swoon in the book.

The Silverstone crew has been sent out to rescue Nigerian girls that have been kidnapped, the are aware 1 American woman was taken also. Molly wasn't who they weren't sent to rescue, but Smoke was damn sure she was leaving with his team.

Molly thought she lived in hell during her capture, but her past relationship was about to bring her on a helliship ride she never wanted.

Get ready for an action packed ride. You wont want to put this book when you start reading it.

This is book 3 in the Silverstone series and while it could be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the first 2 books before this one just because all the characters are interconnected and introduced previously. In this one we get Mark "Smoke" and Molly's story. Molly is a schoolteacher who went to Nigeria just hoping to leave her "bad luck" behind her. She wasn't expecting to find herself kidnapped along with the schoolgirls from her class. Smoke and his team are sent to Nigeria to take out the target who kidnapped not only Molly but the schoolgirls. He knows his mission and he has no issues with heading into danger with his team. But he wasn't expecting to find Molly or to have the reaction that he does to her. And when he gets her back to the states and she finds out that her grandparent's passed away while she was gone, he gives her a place to come to terms with the things she missed. And to figure out her next move. But as they grow closer together, neither are expecting a past threat to come back for Molly.

I was slightly iffy with this one before I started it. I wasn't sure how much I would like someone who seemed to be characterized by her having bad luck. But honestly, I was surprised with how much I truly liked Molly's character. Yes, she has had bad things happen to her. But she actually takes the time to listen to the people who talk to her about it-and makes the conscious decision to not be so negative about her life and the things that happen. And when she feel's like she may be being negative-she makes a choice to change her own thinking! I loved that about her! She has not only this great heart to her but she is self aware enough to know that something has to change in order for her to find her happiness. That is the hardest thing for people to do! Smoke is this great human being who lost a lot growing up, just like Molly did, but he chooses not to let it define him. And he has no problem helping the people that need it, even more than what they would want. But I actually loved that about him. He has a need to help the people he cares about-even when they don't want him to. I was surprised with just how much these two complemented each other. I thought they wouldn't mesh, and they did beyond belief! The suspense was something I wasn't expecting, but it just added to the story and kept me reading! Now I need Gramps story because the way this ended just left me needing to know even more!

Silverstone has quickly become one of my favorite series by Susan Stoker. I’ve enjoyed all of her books but there’s just something about this series that really draws me in. Whatever it is, each story is better than the one before and I’m down the rabbit hole until the end. Susan’s writing style makes it easy to be drawn to these characters and invested in the outcome of their stories. I love the close-knit nature of the team and their relationships with their employees at Silverstone and how they welcome new people into the fold.

This book starts in an unusual way with the team already in the middle of an op in the Nigerian jungle to eliminate their current target and help rescue kidnapped school girls, and hopefully find a missing American school teacher along the way. In the middle of executing their op, Smoke gets an added surprise of finding the school teacher in a most unexpected way. Once they meet, there’s no turning back. Their connection is immediate and forms a bond that deepens into an amazing relationship for them both.

I love how Molly and Smoke’s relationship develops and her relationships with the rest of the guys and their women. The genuine feelings and protective sides of all the guys with their women is completely swoon-worthy and endearing.

This book will definitely hold your attention with action, danger, suspense, romance, sexy times, humor, excitement and an array of emotions. Molly and Smoke definitely have to work for their HEA and it's an intense, edge of your seat journey with a beautiful ending.

Thanks to Netgalley for this ARC.

When I read the synopsis for "Trusting Molly" I became enamored with the premise of these Delta men. So much so that rather than jumping straight into this one (the third in the series) I straight away bought and binge read the first 2 in the series (in 2 days mind you!). WOW I can safely say that I was not disappointed and I have now found an author to add to my automatic purchase list!!!! Can not wait until the next book comes out!!!

"Trusting Molly" tells the story of Mark aka Smoke and Molly who meet after the man who can get in and out of places unseen manages to fall into the hole Molly is being kept down. From the Nigerian jungle and ruthless terrorists to back home in Indiana (with a brief Chicago visit) with a psycho ex boyfriend turned stalker this is a fun, sweet and sexy story.

I absolutely loved that the characters and group we fell in love with from the first two stories are all here and we get to see their lives continuing.

The end of every story really starts the next book which really draws you in. I can't wait to read Gramps story.

There was nothing at all that I hated or disliked about this story - aside from the fact that I now have to wait for the next in the series!

Susan Stoker has a way of writing that really engages you and which is hard to find - it's also annoying when you need to go to sleep but NEED to finish the book first. The dialogue and stories are really well written and full of good humour and fun despite the exstalkers, serial killers and in general bad guys.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an early copy in exchange for my honest review. Like always, I bookmarked the mistakes in writing, so contact me if you want to know which ones there were.
"When you meet the one person in this world who is meant for you, who's the other half of your soul, you'll just know."

The story
The book is about Molly, who has been taken with a group of girls by a criminal organisation in Nigeria. Smoke and his team are there to save them, and they find much more than just the girls in the progress.

This was the first book in the Silverstone trilogy that I've read, and I enjoyed the story. It started off very strong, with Molly in a hole in the ground, and Silverstone in the middle of their rescue mission. I must admit that I thought the whole being taken thing would be a bigger part of the story, but they were only in Nigeria for the first few chapters, and the rest of the book was about them back home. I was a little disappointed by it, since there wasn't a lot of action after that, until the end of the story.

I was a bit surprised by the Preston point of view moments that we got, I really enjoyed that! It was nice to see what he was thinking, and how psychotic he obviously really was. Damn, what a guy. Him thinking he was better than the police, and he had so much power as a security guard made me cracking up XD He's a damn psycho for sure.

The characters
🍀Molly/Folly Molly🍀
I have some very mixed thoughts about this girl. At first, I really loved her. I especially love how she sleeps, how she spreads out like a starfish lol. I love the way Molly made Mark see that he was more than his money in her eyes, because he was so insecure about past girlfriends liking him for his money. What really started to annoy me however, is how freaking whiny she is. Sure, at first it was cute how Mark made her see that she wasn't bad luck and all that; but after a while it just got old. She kept saying how Preston's actions were her fault, her grandparents dying was her fault, etc. etc., and it annoyed the crap out of me after a while. Seriously, it just felt like she was trying to get attention, and Mark had to tell her it wasn't her fault so many fucking times. I'm sorry, I'm so annoyed by her. She had a few moments in this book where I was ready to punch her, like this;
At first it had been a huge adjustment knowing that Taylor didn't know who she was every time she saw her, but it barely registered now.

Are you serious??? How is it a big adjustment for you that someone has a disease they can do NOTHING about?????? Boohoo, poor you. *rolls eyes*
What also annoyed the crap out of me, was how she was acting when she had the flu. Girl, how freaking old are you? Everyone was acting like she was dying, and she even said it multiple times; how she was ready to die, felt like she was dying, how she was deathly ill, bla bla. What the fuck? It's just the flu, don't be such a freaking baby???? Yes, I've been very sick from the flu myself, but I'm not going to whine about it to others, nor am I going to act like I'm dying?! I started to hate her somewhere in the middle of the story, which is probably obvious from my rant.

💵Mark/Smoke💵
My opinion on Mark changed throughout the story as well. At first, I really loved him. He made Molly feel so much better, and always got her back up when she felt down - even when she was doubting herself. I felt like he was quite quick in realizing that he had feelings for Molly, and even telling her so - but I do love a man who knows what he wants. I didn't really like how quickly he told her that's really freaking quick to me and quite creepy if I'm being honest. His controlling behavior actually made me think of Preston; he had crazy stalker vibes at multiple points in this story. I mean, checking in on her while she sleeps might seem cute to others, but to me it just says that he watches her sleep? That's just weird. Anyway, I loved the romance between them, it was very sweet and nicely done. It made me laugh that they looool.

👥Side characters👥
I love the entire team of Silverstone, and I love Taylor and Skylar as well. Especially Taylor seems really intriguing, I study psychology and the idea of prosopagnosia has always been so terrible to me. I'm guessing they both have their own books, and I got really excited about reading those books because I already love them - and that doesn't happen often! I really want to know what the real names of the Silverstone team are, we only know Mark's and Bull's name was mentioned by Skylar I believe - but what is Gramps real name? And Eagle? I really want to know.

Overall conclusion
Overall, I thought the romance was very cute in this book, but both of the main characters started to annoy me as the story progressed - especially Molly. The side characters all seem very intruiging, and I'd love to read the story of Taylor and Skylar! I don't think it's necessary to have read those books before reading this one, but it might be nice anyway. There was some lead up for the next story about Gramps, which already seems really interesting in my opinion, and I'd love to read it!

"There's pretty, then there's pretty. I couldn't care less about someone's outward appearance. I've known classically beautiful women who were so ugly inside, they made me feel slimy simply standing next to them. I've also known women who have been disfigured by fire, or by a car accident, or by a bombing, or at the hands of someone who was supposed to love them... and because of who they are inside, they're some of the most gorgeous women I've ever seen. It's not what's on the outside that matters, but the kind of person someone is deep down. And you, Molly Smith, are one of the most amazing people I've ever met... And I've met a lot of people. But believe me, you're damn easy on the eyes as well."

Eagerly anticipated continuation of this fantastic series, Smoke’s book is everything you want it to be and more. Protective badass former soldiers, unknown threats and danger, amazing friendships and smoking hot intimacy building a beautiful romance and a fantastic HEA.

The book begins unusually for the team with them mid rescue, having heard about the missing Nigerian schoolgirls and the lone American woman with them, at the end of the last story they had decided to spend some time in the area searching them out. By the start of this book they found them and Smoke discovers where Molly is being held.

The team dynamics are well written and the closeness of the 4 friends comes off the page. The rescue being a perfect chance to both learn more about Molly and Smoke, but also how the team interact with each other. Their care for Molly was so heartwarming.

Molly is, unknowing to her, an extremely strong individual and after having challenges thrown at her makes serious life decisions to try and change her path. Upon discovering after her rescue she has nothing left of her past life, she takes up Smoke on his offer to recuperate at his home.

I loved how their relationship developed and how Molly went on a journey of discovery, eventually being strong enough to say what it was she really wanted in life. Then how Smoke immediately have her everything her heart needed. His love for her was so deep and it was given so freely.

Emotional at times, the exciting and suspense filled story takes using a journey through which we learn more about the other characters in the series (Shaun….*sniff*) and fall in love with the 4 leading men even more than before, even their gruff over protective sides.

The ending was nail biting and though you know an SS story always ends well, she does have a habit of leaving our favourite characters with a little more work to do even if they do get a HEA. But no fear, this HEA is lovely and complete and everything you will want it to be.

I am giving this review in exchange for an ARC copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This is book three in The Silverstone Series and it is Molly and Smoke's story and omg it is a must read. Smoke is part of The Silverstone Team and in Nigeria hoping to find and rescue the girls and the engineer Molly Smith who was at the school when they were all kidnapped but when they eventually found the camp where they were all being held they knew this assignment wouldn't be easy. Molly had gone to Nigeria to get away from a ex that wouldn't leave her alone and then started stalking her but now she has been kidnapped and trying to escape had landed her in a whole.in the ground that she couldn't get out of and she was convinced that she would die there but then a man fell into the whole and said he would come back to get her and that is how she met Smoke and his Team which she wasn't expecting but grateful for. Then Molly gets devastating news after being rescued and goes to stay with Smoke who has the state of the art security as Molly's ex Preston is now stalking her again and he will not give in until she is dead and he is extremely dangerous so they all start protecting her while they find Preston. The more time that Molly and Smoke spend together the stronger there feelings for each other grow but will it be enough for them to have a happy ending or will everything fall apart. I absolutely love this book and I couldn't put it down as it was action packed and kept you on the edge of your seat wondering what else would happen and it was so addictive. Susan Stoker is an amazing author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.

Trusting Molly by Susan Stoker is the third book in her Silverstone series, and it once again was sheer and utter perfection! It packed a punch from start to finish, the storyline carrying you through, drawing you in, enticing you to stay, and then the fantastic characterization of Molly and Smoke, as well as the delightful cast of secondary characters that you already know and love, well, what more could a reader ask for?!

Molly is so incredibly strong even if she doesn't feel it or see it. She's overcome some pretty harrowing situations, has continued to survive, and with the right people around her, she might just thrive. I adored her, and rooted for her, and wanted to give her the biggest hug.

Smoke, Mark, is just what I wanted him to be, alpha, protective, attentive, caring, and no holds barred whenever anything was happening that had to do with his woman, even circumstantially. He is driven, is focused, knows what he wants, and will make that happen, even if it takes a while, because he's dedicated, and he's patient.

The whole cast of characters was a delight to get to experience, and I am on tenterhooks for Gramps' story; I can already tell it'll put me through the wringer!

All in all, another fantastic Stoker story with action, a bit of mystery, a dash of intrigue, and a whole lot of love and support and friendships and chosen family liberally sprinkled through. So, hop to it, you won't regret it!

Folly Molly, that’s what Molly Smith thinks for a thousand time since she’d been thrown into a hole in the middle of the Nigeriean jungle; little does she know that help was on the way and will literally land on top of her. “Help” is in the form of former Delta soldier and Silverstone Towing co-owner Mark “Smoke” Chamberlin, who is on a mission with his teammates and regrets not being able to find the missing american environmental engineer Molly Smith.
Their attraction is fast and hard, however, after learning the cause of Molly’s sudden departure to Nigeria (crazy and obsessed ex boyfriend) and the violent loss of her grandparents, Smoke offers his help to stranded and alone Molly. Little does she know that she’s going to find that happiness in the hands of this sexy former military man, who with every word and gesture, shows her that she’s worth more than she thinks and, furthermore, she’s no bad luck as everybody has been telling her all her life. Although, before all this happens, they have to find a way to vanish new threats that are following Molly. However, with the Silverstone guys, Molly will find soon enough that she has people to rely on that will always have her back.
This fast paced, sometimes sweet and sexy story, will keep you on the edge of your seat and you won’t let go until you read every last word. I’m looking forward to reading Gramps' story next in this amazing world created by Susan Stoker.

All the action my heart could stand!

When the "meet-cute" is literally him falling for her -- and saving her life in the process -- you know it's going to be an intense, action-packed story. It's an entire immersive experience and left me with a huge book hangover.

Molly has always thought she had bad luck, but nothing compared to what she's going through now. Kidnapped by terrorists in Africa, her rescue is a side goal for the Silverstone team. Back in the US, she's lost her job and found that her grandparents were murdered, very likely by the man who's been stalking her for months.

Mark has carefully guarded his heart for years, but he's inexplicably drawn to Molly and can't help but become her knight in shining armor. Their romance is slow and sweet, but a little accidental eavesdropping instantly transformed everything and I absolutely adored their relationship from that point on.

The thrilling suspense of this book kept me glue to the page with all the lights on. Truly chilling stuff, and very well written. This is the kind of story that will haunt you while at the same time restoring your faith in humanity. Not for the faint at heart, but if you like pulse-pounding scenes this is the book for you. The HEA was spot on, with a strong lead-in to the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

WOW! This book was freakin’ amazing! Probably one of my top favourites written by Stoker. She does such a fantastic job creating intense, action-packed love stories with amazing characters. Once I started, I couldn’t put it down until I finished.

From the start, the connection between Mark “Smoke” Chamberlin and Molly Smith was intense and heartfelt. Despite the circumstances of their meeting, and the death and danger stalking Molly, communication and understanding helped this couple build an amazing and strong connection. Love really can conquer all if you believe in positive thinking.

Trusting Molly is the third book in Susan Stoker’s new series, Silverstone. This book is an action packed romantic suspense novel with a happily ever after. It can be read as a stand alone, but reading it in order with give the reader a better appreciation for the characters and the series itself. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Thank you Netgalley, publisher and Susan Stoker for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I have read the previous two books in the Silverstone Series and I absolutely loved them. Susan Stoker has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Trusting Molly is the third book in the Silverstone series and boy did it not disappoint. It was the perfect blend of high powered action and swoon worthy romance. Molly has having the worst case of bad luck but thank goodness Mark literally dives onto her to save her from that bad luck. I devoured this story in 1 day that's how good it was but I'm not really surprised because all of Susan Stoker's books suck you in from the beginning. The chemistry between the two main characters and the inclusion of Mark's (aka Smoke) crew light up the page. The end of every story really starts the next book which really draws you in. I can't wait to read Gramps story! I can't wait to read the continuation of this series!

I’m always amazed at how Susan comes up with different, and still terrifying, bad guys! I’m always in awe of how she connects our heroes and heroines perfectly. And I always know I’m in for a ride with bumps, bruises, sexiness, and strength for the characters, and Smoke and Molly were no exception. These two were quiet, unassuming, and so deep that I was immediately drawn into their story. They explained their backgrounds, their experiences, their current, and their futures. I was there with them as they gained understanding and fell in love. They made my heart race, my heart sigh, and my heart sooth, as they worked their way to their HEA!
