Jordyn Jensen has never known love. Growing up in an abusive home led Jordyn to a string of abusive relationships.

Now, she desperately needs to get away from Kansas City and her abusive boyfriend, Devon, before he kills her. After fleeing to a horse ranch in the mountains of Colorado, Jordyn meets Sam, a cowboy haunted by his own painful past.

Sam Blake still struggles with the death of his mother years ago and refuses to let anyone get close. Which is why he has no interest in a relationship. That is until he meets Jordyn. She’s timid and scared but he so badly wants to earn her trust.

Can Sam help Jordyn overcome her past, heal, and convince her to take a chance on love?

Taylor Belle is a stay-at-home mom who doesn’t ever stay at home. She is a substitute at her sons’ school, walks religiously to books on tape, plays Beat Saber, reads, and of course, writes books. She does fewer domestic tasks than any stay-at-home mom ever has before, and wonders how the laundry, cooking and cleaning ever gets done in her house. She’s certainly not the one who does it. While she’s on the go, she manages to fit chocolate into every meal, chocolate chip cookies being her favorite.

Jordyn Jensen had got used to the abuse, to the beatings. But that one night Devon took things too far. In fear for her life she calls Maggie and finds herself in the one place Devon won't think to look. While running from her past she didn't expect to find a chance of a future. She needed to find, repair and rebuild herself. But then she meets Sam, and she is nowhere near prepared for what he makes her feel. She is broken, he is hurting, but perhaps together they can build something better than if they were alone. The problem is, Jordyn isn't ready, her instinct is to run, to protect herself. Can Sam find a way to reach her, or will she forever be beyond his reach?

Trust me, is book one in the Blake Family Ranch series, and there is so much to love about this book. The alternating first-person perspectives between Sam and Jordyn allow the reader full insight into each characters hopes, fears, and challenges as both of them come face to face with something they dare not imagine. Both want to protect themselves, yet Sam doesn't fight himself as hard as the broken and uncertain Jordyn and swears to make himself someone she can run to, not from. I really loved the characters in this book, with a real and relatable feel to them, and the feeling of warmth and family at the ranch it is hard not to be drawn in. This is a sweet romance in every sense of the word and a true hole hearted to whole hearted tale. Chemistry, challenges, and uncertainty follow the protagonists as they both fear and long to understand the connection they have. Beautifully written with vivid descriptions, this is a must for romance lovers.

Jordyn escapes from her abusive ex-partner and goes to stay at the Blake Family Ranch where she meets the elusive Sam. He’s never had a real relationship; no-one can live up to the perfect woman… his mother. Now at that point I would usually go running for the hills. His mother? Really? But I kept turning the pages and learned his back story and the real reason that he has kept himself safe from heartache.
Secondary characters were all interesting and well thought out bringing more to the story itself (sidenote: I just realised that this is a series and I’m hoping the next book will give me the answers I seek about Ben and Callie’s relationship).
I liked this story overall. Clean, sweet romance. Climatic ending. Underlying themes of learning to love yourself, trusting and relying on God and forgiveness.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Review for Trust Me (The Blake Family Ranch book 1) by T.B. Elizabeth

Uplifting words of hope for us all!
T.B. Elizabeth delivers a heartfelt story of a woman who overcomes the tyranny of an abusive relationship. Setting up the agony, insecurity, and bravery of our heroine with precision, the story reaches into your chest and squeezes your heart. The faith and strength of the characters who pull Jordyn from her anguish brings a spiritual connection that leaps from the pages.
From the very beginning, when I read the books dedication, I knew my emotions would be high while reading the story. The highs and lows are carefully placed and culminate with a happily ever after worthy of a fairytale.

Beautiful

This book is totally captivating read on how relationships can be so difficult, but also some can be so good. This isn't just any old romance book, it makes you route for the characters. Jordyn is a tortured soul through a previous relationship, she simply had to get away. But it left it's mark and she didn't trust anyone anymore, that was until she meet Sam. He had troubles of his own with relationships, but the attraction was there with Jordyn and they couldn't help themselves. With troubles along the way as well as Jordyn's ex coming back into her life, will Jordyn and Sams relationship last. It is such a great read with the author doing a great job, very observing work. I highly recommend this romantic, Christian, suspenseful read.

Nice love story!

This was a nice, easy read. The characters felt relatable and I enjoyed that as a reader you get to experience perspectives from both characters since the chapters switch off between the two of them. There is a mystery aspect since you don’t know what will happen within their love story! That kept me hooked ! I am not a religious person and there is some connection with God aspect too the book but separate from that you get experience the character’s growth and connect with them in other ways. The layout was a plus as well !

"Trust Me" touched upon an all too real topic -- physical abuse. It was also about love, faith, and starting anew.

Word of warning, a couple of intense chapters might be too sensitive for those who've lived or are currently living through physical abuse. If you need to skip over them, do so. Instead, focus on the love that Sam has for Jordyn and the love she has for him. Focus on the bond between two sisters. And focus on how the community bands together and protects their own.

"Trust Me" had a turbulent start, but it ended with two lost souls becoming one.

Very well done book. It took me time to read but I am happy! It was well written, and I loved it! Romance stories were never my thing to read, and I got into it during this whole pandemic. Reading so many romances. This one was very interesting. The main character went through SO much in the book. It was inspiring to read that someone can have so much strength! Jordyn had my interest in reading, and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

Definitely worth reading!

I read this book in a matter of hours as I found it so hard to put down as I need to know what happened next for Jordyn and Sam. Two lost souls who had their own tragedies in there past, Jordyn's more recently. I highly recommend and the next two books in the series are in my 'to read' list. Great work.

This was such a wonderful love story.

It is hard to learn to love when one is never truly loved. I it is also hard to love when you have lost someone who had taught you what love feels like. This was a love story about how hard life can be when you have seen the other side of love and prosesion.

This is a Christian Romance which I was not expecting from the blurb. It's not preachy or in your face, but God is an important theme in the book.

Overall a sweet, quick read with lots of emotion.

The story line was a little predictable, but it was fun to get to know Jordyn and Sam. Four stars
