Injured and hunted, Taylor is forced to form an uneasy alliance with KOR, a clandestine group of ‘patriots’ in the hope of protecting the people she cares about. She soon discovers all is not as it seems as she is thrown into a world of secrets, spies, and betrayal within the organization, even as Vice President Armstrong sets a trap for her, with bait he knows she cannot resist.
Not knowing who to trust, or how to evade Armstrong, she must push her telekinetic ability further than ever before, as she fights to survive the consequences of choosing.... The Third Option
Danger. Suspense. A story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. A book that keeps you up all night reading because you just have to see what happens next...
It's what we're all looking for. The type of book that reaches out, grabs you and doesn't let go. Oh, it has its drawbacks. Nothing gets done. No cooking, no cleaning, no laundry. People call your name and you don't even respond. But it's worth it. Because you've found another place. Another world. And just for a little while, you're part of it.
I'm Cat Gilbert, and I write the Taylor Morrison Psychic Thrillers and the Molly McMurray Mysteries. In both series I try to give you, the reader, that experience. Characters you can connect with, a gripping plot chock full of action, danger, and enough twists and turns that even I have a hard time keeping up.
The The Taylor Morrison series centers around Taylor Morrison, a private investigator whose life is turned upside down when she suddenly develops psychic abilities. We're not talking X-Men, comic book, mutant type stuff here. Instead, this is the kind of thing you've always wondered about. Or at least I have. The idea that maybe we aren't utilizing our brains to their fullest. That maybe if we tried hard enough, we could do stuff and if we could, what sort of ramifications that would have.
The Molly McMurray Mysteries is a new series. The main character is, of course, Molly McMurray. There's a psychic 'twist' to this series as well, and his name is Kaegan. Who he is, and the role he plays, I'll leave to you to discover.
Having moved over 32 times, Cat Gilbert now makes her home in Arkansas with her husband and their dog, Clancy. When she's not writing, she spends her time trying to figure out a way to keep the deer from eating her blackberries and fig trees, experimenting with new Paleo recipes, and attempting to convince Clancy that playtime has to wait until she finishes the chapter.

While still a great read, I'm finding Taylor to be an unbelievable character. Overnight practically, Taylor goes from being someone fumbling while trying to deal with her powers, to a super hero. She has too much importance than what the few powers she has warrants. I will read another of these because they are well written. I just hope there is more balance in the development of Taylor's character.
This book did a good job keeping the story going and added a new interesting character. I was troubled by the torture of children, but it looked like they were going to be rescued and those two were at the end. However, at the end, the author put one more child in the hands of an evil psychopath and ended there as a vehicle to make sure you buy the next book. I feel that is wrong. With all the abuse of children in the world, everyone would be drawn to want to make sure that that child was rescued. I won't buy the next one because I'm not sure it won't have more torture of children and maybe not even have the child rescued at the end. Yeah, I'm a bit sensitive about this, but one should be.
This series is really amazing. Lots of suspense, paranormal happenings.
Taylor Morrison is just figuring out some of her powers, you see she has the gift of telekinesis, where she can move things with her mind. And in her job, she needs it. Trying to accept her gift, along with the government and outside evil, she is trying to find out who she really is.Is she the leader that her teams needs, is she able to remove herself when she has to do things she really doesn't want to do.
Loved this one. Always love her "family" and that Cat is is so obsessed with coffee!! But in this 2nd series, Taylor must help two other children who have talents of their own and they are being held hostage by the man that Taylor and her group is hunting for!
High stress and lots of intensity for this group as they navigate untested powers, betrayals, unkept promises and many secrets. Along with the stress is joy and friendship, family and love. Lars and Mac and Connor are the best and I love their dynamic with Taylor/Sam. The addition of the others with powers was an interesting spin and the cliffhanger was unexpected and exciting for the next book! The danger of the KOR and those working against them is a fascinating backstory and I love how it gives room for multiple enemies and patriots.
The only caution for readers is you have to read the books in order or you’ll be totally lost. Otherwise, I’ve found a new favorite author and series! There is humor and action, spies and paranormal stuff, family drama and the main character loves coffee as much as I do. Well written, believable and with well developed characters that appear to be growing with each book.
It is a very suspenseful book as it starts getting towards the middle. One thing that drives me crazy is that this book ramps up my anxiety because you just know some insider betrayal is eventually coming because there's more people moving into the compound. We've got a new character added to the mix, and Taylor is still trying to sort herself out in this role as a leader. I plan on finishes this series, but I think I'll take a break between each one
Taylor Morrison continues to learn about herself and her special gift in this thriller. She loves her family and keeps getting more extended family as the story continues. Interesting concept, lots of bad guys and a kick-ass Taylor with her team combine for an interesting read
This is the second book I have read by Cat Gilbert. I found this on an add on Facebook and I am glad that I gave the first book a chance. Ms Gilbert takes the reader on an adventure with her characters. If you like strong women you will like her character Taylor Morrison.
Enjoy all the fast pace exciting story plot of the book. The book has enough details to set you directly into the story plot. The characters are all very interesting and each one has their own enjoyable personality. There is just a hint of humor to make you want to read more.
Loved the first two books, so I can hardly wait for the hunt for Abby...she's got a great talent and since I hate typos , has great proof-readers. I will enjoy reading more from Ms Gilbert.
Great fiction and fantasy !You should try this Author.Really exciting and interesting.Try it and you will find out more about how much you will have missed out on top fiction!
Just when you think you know what's going on, the story changes. No time for a longer review cause I've got to get to the third book and find out what happens!!
I think Sterling is a great fit for Taylor’s team! I couldn’t believe that Keith has an evil twin, but all things considered,it figures…Soooo happy that they got the two children out-now for Abby…
I had mixed feeling about the first book but this second book really upped the game. The characters became more defined the plot engaging and the pages just flew by. It left with an open thread so off to read the 3rd book in this series.
Really enjoyed this series. Exciting plot and fleshed out characters. Some violence, but not gory. Couldn't put it down and am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series to see what happens next.
The next installment of the series. Leaves you with wanting the next step. Still wondering who is the bad or good in each group. Can't wait for the next volume.
I didn't think this story could get any more intriguing ...but it does, intensely so. I am definitely hooked on the Taylor Morrison series. Wow. This is a MUST read. Wow. Can't wait to read the next one.
The novella coming after the first book sent me into a tail spin until I learned there was an actual second book and a third scheduled to come out this year. The second book renewed my admiration of this author enough to have me searching when in 2017 the third book would be released. The new characters added complimented the active ones of the series; more reasons to loathe the scum of the earth and countless ones to root for the heroines and heroes!
