Ladies Dancing

Rate this book
Three people find romance over a magical winter season.

In Regency England Kate and Louisa arrive in London - accompanied by Kate's brother, Will - to make their debuts into London society and find themselves husbands. Kate encounters Mr Templeton, who is the opposite of everything she thinks she wants in a man. He might soon change her mind, though, if her blunt manners do not ruin everything.

Her cousin, Louisa, wants to get a wealthy husband as quickly as possible for her own secret reasons. Why she should soon decide to turn down a rich, good-natured earl is a mystery and Kate is determined to find out what she is hiding. The truth might prove to be more than she can cope with.

There is also her brother, Will, to worry about. As a wealthy, attractive gentleman, he could easily find himself a wife... if only he did not loathe every person he encounters, with the notable exception of the charming Mr Fenton. To make the best of the situation, Kate intends to throw the two men at each other as much as possible to keep Will from scaring off her potential suitors. She never imagines the attachment that might form between Will and Mr Fenton.

Just as the duo are making progress in their romantic adventures a scandal is revealed that threatens to devastate their lives.

Clare Jayne began writing novels nearly three decades ago, when she was a teenager. She has worked in a variety of jobs, including legal secretary and sales advisor, while continuing to write and trying and failing to get a traditional publisher for her work. She has had a short play performed by the local amateur dramatics group and recorded on local radio and came joint first place in a local writing competition. This inspired her to self-publish and she is thrilled to be able to finally share her novels with actual real people.
