Ember fell for the lies of a con man, and lost everything. With little more than the shirt on her back, she sets off on a cross-country voyage in search of a fresh start.
Both of their paths lead to Midnight, Colorado.
Harper never believed he would find his mate who would accept him. But being near Ember awakens a side of him that refuses to be ignored. While she’s never seen her new boss, Ember is mystified by how the sound of his voice causes her body to quake with an undeniable need. Can his desire for Ember coax Harper from the shadows? For years she has had stories floating around in her head, deciding to follow a dream to put those stories to paper. To bring to life the muses that have become a part of who she is.
Prometheus is a wife and mother to two boys. Residing in northern Illinois with her family, two cats, and Fred, her pet bunny. Besides her love for her family and friends, coffee is her biggest love and addiction. Summertime will find her at the beach or waterpark, soaking up those beautiful rays of sunshine. She finds cooking to be very relaxing and likes to try out new recipes. Pink and sparkly is her signature.
She writes paranormal romance. Shifters of all kinds. Wolves, dragons, vampires, mermaids, bears, dolphins and coming soon, unicorns and imps. All of her books feature at least one villain that tries to break apart the couple. Or has a vendetta against one of the characters. Each book does deliver that happily ever after.
Harper was raised in a clan that was lead by a crazy alpha. Not wanting to bring in any new people he was asigning people to mate even if they were related. Causing huge birth defects as well as large amount of infant deaths. When Harper came of age he was told who he was to mate with and decided right then and there he needed to get himself and his siblings out. After traveling for weeks they ended up in Midnight. A small Colorado town that is full of shifters who don't have a clan. They were brought into the fold and taken care of. Ember is a woman living on her own. A good well paying job and very dedicated to it. When she meets Mark. He is not a good guy and leads to her being arrested on drug charges. And loosing her job and so much more. Not being close to her judgmental parents she decides to just disappear and find a new life and start over. That live brings her to Midnight as well. And to the Midnight inn for a job. And her future.
Previous books I have read about shifters have always been about how the pack operated as a unit. Decisions were made as a group. My heart was sad as I read about Harper's pack. That they could be so cruel to their own kind. Harper leaves the pack after the Alpha tries to give m m a mate. He did not agree with that tradition. He takes his brother and sister with him.
I’ve had this on my to read list since it came out. I love Prometheus’ books and this one sure held up. I loved the entire story. They background that Harper and his siblings came from was the perfect start to this story, and it wasn’t just a quick mention. Prometheus really made it where you knew what they had come from and how far they had come. The three siblings overcame their past to have amazing life’s. Ember didn’t have the best start to life either. She did have an amazing job but looses it because of a con man. She definitely didn’t expect to find the little town of Midnight, and had no clue that she had a true mate or that shifters existed. I’d definitely recommend this book to those that like shifter romances and are 18*
