Max Ellendale

Max grew up just outside of New York City, spending most of her formative years outdoors creating wild ghost hunts with neighborhood kids, setting booby-traps to capture unwitting family members, and building clubhouses on top of ten-foot walls. Max wrote her first story at the age of twelve and titled it Circles of Friendship. Through the years, Max has written several short-stories and poems, all of which met the wrath of the “Not Good Enough” monster and ended in fiery demise.

Max regained her confidence when she began writing scholarly articles and research theses on her first trip through graduate school. It took several years for her to break the habit of the formal writing that marred her creativity. An additional Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing was Max’s biggest support in this. Max writes primarily sci-fi/fantasy, paranormal romance, and Young Adult stories.

I love it when authors write stories about my favourite characters after however many years have passed. It's like getting a whole new epilogue in novel form. Sali and Maggie are pretty special, if you haven't read the Four Point Trilogy & Anita, I highly suggest you get on it!

Love Sali and Maggie

This book is phenomenal! Sali and Maggie’s love for each other gives you all of the feels! No matter what they have gone through they are there for each other whole heartedly. I feel this book was low angst but VERY emotional. There may have been a few tears from me while reading. I can’t wait to read Mercy!

How fast are you typing?

As always, Writer Ellendale, it has been a pleasure to read your story. This check in with Maggie helped to round out her character as she previously seemed to be more of a foil for Sali. I also liked checking in on the wonderful community that surrounds them. It was an emotional ride, but ultimately satisfying one. I enjoyed it from cover to cover.

I see Mercy’s story is next and I’m excited to read it. Maybe one day I can see you stories on the small screen? I can only imagine...

Note: If that actually is in the works, let the Canadians do it. If they can produce Michelle Lovretta‘a stuff they can do this

Once you’ve experienced the Four Point Universe you won’t want to leave! I revisit frequently…

I highly recommend reading the Four Point Trilogy and Anita, before reading this one to get the fullness of Maggie and Sali’s journey… I loved seeing their relationship from how it all began, to where they are now, years later and married......Amazing! They’ve experienced so much, but through it all...the love they have for one another is breathtaking.

I’m going to keep this short, because I don’t want to accidentally leak any spoilers....

Like with other books in this universe, there are glimpses of previous characters. A few of the reappearances gave me a desire to re-read their story again...I’m looking at you Billie… There are so many well written scenes that had me laughing out loud and some that had me shedding sad tears...

One of my favorite parts of Maggie and Sali’s story is seeing the growth and healing process (especially Sali’s). The scene between Molly and Sali in the coffee shop...excellent! Chapter 13 is one that I’d randomly go back to re-read just because I enjoyed it so much.
Now that I think about it, Sali had a lot of really memorable scenes with different characters...but, no spoilers...

I could go on and on...but I won’t. If you haven’t experienced the Four Point Universe, you are definitely missing out! I’m already excited for the next one!

Side note:
I recommend reading this after eating a full meal or snack...there’s a lot of scenes with delicious food, and treats...just saying...you’ve been warned…

Everything I wanted it to be

This book was everything I wanted it to be as well as some things I needed it to be unknowingly. For anyone who's read at least first handful of books in this universe and fell on love with Maggie and Sali's story, this is an absolute must read.

How many more characters?

One of my favorite series. I love Sali, her inner circle and the double digit supporting cast that is part of this 10 book story. I am expecting an 11th, but am ok if the author decides to conclude with this open ended conclusion. Warning...reading this book is like doing research. I had to go back to all the previous books and make a character description outline to remember them all.

Before I start, a disclaimer. I love this series and the latest installment is one of the strongest ones yet. The normally dependable rock that is Maggie receives some news that leaves her reeling and emotionally raw. What I love about this book is that we get the story from Sali's perspective, and whilst in previous books it is Maggie who has soothed Sali's demons, it is rewarding to see the irreverent, complicated, spiky Sali step up to support her wife. The way that the author weaves this universe and develops her characters is masterful. She writes so powerfully of love and loyalty, loss and trauma. A five star read.

This time Maggie needs Sali to hold her up

“Growth, hardship, authenticity, and inner demons remain as constants in life, at sixteen or sixty.”

“All my fears, all reserves long-gone after years of healing with someone who loved me completely, as I loved her.”
+ • + • + • +

This time it's Maggie that needs Sali to be there to hold her up. The 4 Points Universe returns, after 10 years have passed, to the couple that started it all— the Millers. But whereas Sali was mainly the one falling & in need of Maggie's strength, this time Maggie needs her wife to be her rock & calm in the storm. We finally get to see Maggie's story, which amazed me that all we didn't know about such a central character. Definitely a 5 star read!

Brilliant as always

I absolutely love everything Sali & Maggie related and this story is another funny, loving, grumpy, antagonistic, romantic & sexy chapter in their series.
Already looking forward to the next book.

Borrowed Review
This is the tenth book in the Four point series and follows the back story of Maggie. Maggie and Sali have been married for ten years now and are no longer in law enforcement but have their own PI business. Of all of the books by Ellendale this is the one her fans have been waiting for. It fills in all of the gaps and shows the main characters to be human and not superheroes. Maggie always the most put together of the pair is informed of her previous commanding officers death and this causes her to go into a mental spiral. That’s the outline of the story but it is so well written that you can feel these characters emotions as if they were sitting right next to you. I think of all of Ellendale’s work this is her best to date. If you are a fan of these books this is a must read. Only one word necessary to describe it “Excellent “.

Love Sali & Mags

I’m a big fan of the Four Point universe books and was so thrilled to read a follow up story on the originals, Sali & Maggie. Great story that also ties in a lot of other characters. Number 10 is a gem!

Emotions

It is truly a gift to be able to "manipulate" ones emotions so deeply like that. Like thr whole start to finish, you are in this emotional state that goes up and down, but still enjoying every moment of it. May it be a lesson or just roller-coaster ride.

Amazing. The family and friendship built in this universe are really amazing.
Emotions wise, because I have a thing for dramatic effects, there ais a moment that gas to happen in the next book, or I will be disappointed. I know Max can deliver the emotions, it is about the scene actually being written.

Living on borrowed time.

Sali and Maggie Miller have been married for several years and are happily living together with friends and family. When Maggie gets word that her former Army Commander died in Combat she knows she must go to the service. Accompanied by Sali she faces the ghosts that haunted her past. A story of love, healing and strength.

Waiting for something other than dialogue...

Was hoping for a crime to be solved. Anything to add to Sali’s banter. I loved the Four Point novels, but this doesn’t compete.

I liked the chance to have a book focus on Sali and Maggie again and to get to learn some of Maggie's backstop.

The message about old trauma lurking is an important one.

Story is well told.

MINOR/VAGUE SPOILERS AHEAD
- Fuck I love these books
- Like I feel like I took longer to read this bc I didn’t want it to end (+ I’m sick rn & it’s just harder to read while I’m sick)
- Sali & Maggie r just everything literal top tier couple I could go on forever about how much I love them I see so much of myself in both of them and I just love the way they see and get each other & talk about/get through the hard stuff together - the “I’ll marry you everyday” shit gets me every time it’s so sweet
- I loved all the moment where sali kinda broke the 4th wall & indirectly just judged the fuck out of the readers lol I found it funny + now I know never to bother this author about what’s she’s writing next bc I will not be a “fangirl” even though I really want to be 😭
- Pretty much everybody from the previous books were name dropped or featured in this & i loovveeddd getting little updates on them - especially loved the moments w/ Caroline🫶🏽nora & Anita/marita
- Sali and Maggie were the best aunties to Harper’s babies and Olivia is grown now 😭 - they were so cute & I loved how they’re like another set of twins in every way
- The ending tho?? I’m hoping there’s an update in the future books - I also loved it bc they’re on another little mission & it shows the cycle of their life now it felt like a good full circle ending for them- that being said I could still read like a million books about them doing the same shit over and over again lol
- I liked that we got to learn so much more about Maggie and her past in this - all their other books have a much bigger focus on Sali & I liked that this focused a bit more on Maggie I always wondered about her army days and her past in general
- Will read this a million times over I’m already excited to read it again + I somehow forgot like sm of the book even though I finished it like an hour ago
