Cute. Kinda cheesy but a fun holiday read. The narrator was kinda nasally but other than that she brought life to the characters. A super quick little story that is a great way to spend a few hours.

Fa la la la llama you did me wrong! Haha

Ok first I thought it was a children's book based on the cover (my bad, didn't read the blurb) then I thought it was going to be a super suspenseful murder mystery and it wasn't.

So this is the second book in a series where a woman inherents a bar and a llama and now she is living with her crush from the first book while she rents her place. The person staying in her place gets murdered and that's were our story takes of, or does it?

The main character pretty much doesn't care that a murder just happend, she's just sad at the potential of Christmas activities in her town getting canceled, what?!

Nothing seems to be happening and then all of a sudden the murderer is threatening her out of nowhere, she's supposed to be a super smart wanna be detective but really is her friend who figure things out and at the end when it's all said and done again her only worry is that no one had fun at the party in her bar, again, what?!

To many plot holes that get miraculously solve.

Let me wanting so much more.

I love a good Christmas story no matter what time of year it is!

In this installment of the Friendship Harbor Mysteries, Jack takes part in the elementary school Christmas play, which is very...interesting to say the least. I giggled my way through those scenes as it was just too cute.

And, of course, we have a murder take place. At this point I think they should just raze Jack's shed and the guest house because those two buildings are CURSED.

My favorite part of the book, besides Jack in the play, was that Dean !!

This was a fun, short, seasonal trip to Friendship Harbour.
The whole premise of Jack the llama staring in the local school pageant was adorable, he's such a diva. The murder mystery side of things was a little unbelievable (even more than usual for a cozy murder mystery). A lot happened that didnt really make sense, or get fully explained but it was such a fun read I choose to ignore the plot holes and just enjoy the seasonal novella.

Fun fast holiday read. All the regular characters make appears to make the holidays happy with Sophie right in the middle of it along with her llama Jack. Of course a murder happens, and Sophie tries to keep her nose out of it, but gets drug in whether she wants to or not. Holiday cheer is needed, and we are not let down. Already looking forward the next book.

Perfect snowy day read

Another enjoyable visit in Friendship Harbor Maine with the crowd at Steamys Pub! I was sad to reach the last page but then relieved to find a link to pre-order the next installment in the series. If you are In Maine in February you'll find lots of snow, so appropriately the next Jack adventure is available in February!

This was a perfect book to sit down for a few hours and follow the mystery. I loved Jack the llama, and the town of Friendship Harbor. Each of the authors came to live under the writer's crafting and you could almost feel the disappointed as, one-by-one, her friends and family announced they would not be in town for the holiday season. A feel good murder mystery to put you in the holiday mood.

FaLaLALA...

Just what I needed this year... a little light hearted murder and romance with a llama thrown in for fun. I haven’t read this series before, but definitely am going to check out the previous ones.

Loving these Llama Mysteries

I’m not a mystery reader but I am a fan of Erin McCarthy and this series has been so enjoyable. The characters are delightful. Jack the llama is adorable. The books are fun and interesting and sweet. Keep them coming!

The romance finally panned out and I enjoyed that aspect of it. But I kind of wish Sophie would actually solve a crime instead of just being attacked by the criminal. They may even get away with it if they left her alone.

3.5 starts.
Cute, short holiday read. With snow and a llama, a murder, a murderer, a hunky bartender, and cookies. For special effects, my power went out when I was reading it. This is a very good book for bundling up and reading by lantern.

this series is very cute, I recommend it if you like easy to follow along cozy mysteries.
The cast of characters is quite big, but you can get the sense of each of them through Sophie's eyes.

I read this book exactly one month after I was supposed to. I was literally only 30 days late. I could have read this Christmas murder mystery at Christmas time. If only I had known. I swear my only 2023 resolution is to plan ahead so I can read Christmas books at Christmas time.

The fact is, this was so cosy and perfect for the holidays! The mystery was minor also considering that the book is basically a novella, but it was well done and didn’t feel rushed. And the ending was soooo cute!!
