Grief had prompted her invitation to the Lucky Ones. Guilt had made her consider it. But it was more than the death of her grandmother or the reappearance of her childhood hero that had Sailor Vernon exchanging her life in the outside world for a new existence as part of the top-secret, government-sanctioned organization. A failed medical experiment had rendered thousands of unsuspecting individuals devoid of positive emotions, incapable of caring for anyone or anything. And, the Lucky Ones--all but one of them, apparently--were convinced that she could help.
Alison Fox works full-time as a pharmacist but spends the majority of her free time writing, editing, and (as of November 2020) publishing her novels.
Born and raised in a small, Kentucky town, she now splits her time between there and Nashville, Tennessee where she fills the "writing room" of her apartment with ever-growing collections of books she too-rarely gets around to reading, journals that never stay empty for long, and ink pens that always seem to disappear when she needs them most. On the rare occasions when she's neither working nor writing, Alison can usually be found traveling to visit friends or family.
New author Alison Fox slid into my DM's last Christmas and asked if I would read her new 𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛-𝙥𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙙 book. Any new author who just wrote a book AND self-published it? Yeah, I need to support this person.
The reader is guided on a journey through grief, top-secret government organizations, and ultimately finding your place in life.
I loved how well Fox dissected the grieving process. We all have moments and tiggers after a loved one has passed. Fox took those emotions and created sci-fi type story about dealing with grief. It was such a brilliant concept!
This book is available now on Kindle AND in Paperback! Alison Fox is also hosting a Goodreads Giveaway so be sure to check it out!
I'm a little biased because the author is a friend but this book really draws you in. I am so excited to see how the story continues in the next book of the series!
