This book is a collection of 5 short stories . All of these are love stories and all of these come with a small twist which is the best thing about this book.
I like to read short stories now and then to get a cool refreshment. And these 5 short stories definetly give that feeling.. The emotions of love are so beautifuly conveyed. One can enjoy the full essence and flavour of a love story in each of these. They also had matching titles and my favorite was the first story. The usage of words and the vocabulary is very different . The writing style definetely thus stands out..The author has thus done a great job in narration keeping us hooked to this read.  I would love to read more of his works.
The book can be completed in an hours time . I highly recommend this book to everyone .

Title: Loves Lost
Author: Sourabh Mukherjee
Genre: Short stories
Published: 2020
Pages: 57
My Rating: 5/5 stars

The book is a collection of five short stories, all revolving around the theme of "love". Some stories are very sad, while some are happy and though, romance is not particularly a favourite genre for me, I loved reading every bit of this book.

The stories have all been written perfectly, and there was no story at all that I did not like. I couldn't find any possible flaws with the book, be it in terms of the writing, the characters, the plots of each story, anything!

It's wonderful how the author is able to capture the reader with even such short stories... The writing is beautiful, and the author has a very unique and impressive way of revealing some facts and turns to the story as we read on each one.

My personal favourite was "My Summers with Nargis", which simply left me wonderstruck. It's wonderful how the author has left no loose ends in any of the stories, even though they are all very short stories.

This is for sure one of the nicest romance books I have ever read and I would definitely recommend this if you are someone who is into romance and especially if you are looking to read something light and quick.

Love is all that bonds and forms us. Love is all that makes us live. This book is indeed all about love and the meaning it comes to your world. The cover is amazing and simple which tells us enough about the book. It consists of 5 romantic stories which take you a journey about small things.
Each story is simple and about romantic relationships and the twists that can happen. Emotions of love, misunderstandings and romance.
I loved how each story is unique and lovely in their own ways.

I could relate alot to the characters.
The stories aren't related to each other so you can just randomly read them with a cup of coffee or go about in the sequence. Each story does connect you to them. The title suits it well too.

It is a nice soft read.

Loves lost is a collection of five short stories that all feature theme of love, lost, betrayal and second chances. Riya she is by far my favourite character of the book. As with any collection of short stories, I enjoyed some more than others and I'm sure that other readers might enjoy some more than I did. And other will enjoy some less. I found all the stories interesting and worth reading and I found the author's style and view point were creative, refreshing and unique. This is very fast read and as such, don't expect same level of characters development and story as with a full length novel. The language of the book is simple and easy to understand. The cover of the book is apt. Overall, enjoyable fast read.

Go for it.

Loves Lost by Sourabh Mukherjee is a collection of 5 short stories. Each fills with different kinds of emotions, love, heartbreak, loss, desires, hope, hopelessness and some really unexpected twists.

Among the five stories my favourites are "My Summers With Nargis" and "The Lies We Tell Ourselves".

I love the writing style of the author, how he beautifully and very intricately depicts each scene and also hits every emotion effortlessly that each story would feel like a journey. And the author did this in just some 50+ pages.

So if you're looking for something short, quick, easy to read but with a good plot and plot twists then you should definitely pick this book up.

"Loves Lost" is stunning collection of 5 short stories that have the common theme of love. It is short quick read of 57 pages. Even though it was a short story, the author had twists within each story to capture the reader.

The narration was simple and clear. The language was lucid. The writing style was succinct and stylistic. The tone was compassionate and evoked emotions.

All the characters in each story had an impact on the narration. As each story had a common theme of love, it was a seamless transition from one story to the next.

The author had explored all aspects of love-
the melancholy of unrequited love,
the stark pain of a terminated love,
the anguish of treacherous love,
the ecstatic elation of new love and
the reunion of old love.

It was composed beautifully and it was a delight to read it. Are you a fan of short love stories with a twist? Then this is the book for you.

"𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙞𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙙𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙝 𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙨𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣"

This was a pretty light mystery. Not that much suspenseful and also not violent. It is more a mystery of human nature that is solved.

All the stories were totally twisted. I loved every minute of it. Each story starts out with a seemingly normal situation but eventually the protagonist's behavior turns into something beyond what we usually consider as normal.

A quick read, but what makes them stand out in my mind is that they usually address some kind of complex moral issue. I found myself wondering who did it and ultimately the story and its narration were enjoyable experiences.

This book is so creepy and cryptic. This book is really twisted that looks into the human psyche that makes it a fascinating read. Everyone of the stories in this collection is well worth your time. Some ended nicely and some ended abruptly and left you curious.

Loves Lost is a love story collection having 5 stories. Each story is unique in its own way. There is innocence, purity, hope, jealousy, anger, realism. Sourabh Mukherjee’s stories in Loves Lost will make you fall in love with his characters and his narration style. It is like a spell that will be cast on you that will not let you leave this book midway. It will keep you hooked on to it. You will be surely lost in ‘Loves Lost’.

Nargis through my summers
Nargis through my summers is a story of a boy who is in love with a girl. He doesn’t know her real name. She has a nose like that of Bollywood actress Nargis and that’s the reason why he addresses her with that name. He sees her every day when she comes home from school. He sketches her portrait only to conclude that it is not up to that mark. He is hopelessly in love with Nargis. Is he successful in conveying his feelings to her?

My first impression of this story wasn’t very good. I thought it to be the usual ‘Bollywood’ love story about a boy stalking his love. As I read further, my impression changed completely. I felt like the protagonist and Nargis were there for real. The innocence in this story stole my heart. I never felt that I was reading. It was more like the protagonist was conversing with me. It touched my heart. A pure form of love, this story was!
Rating: 4/5 stars.

Mine Forever
The protagonist is awarded ‘The Most Successful Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ award. Everybody is praising him for his achievements and all, he is concerned about is Sheetal – the love of his life. For some reason, they had drifted apart and he had lost hopes of seeing her again. Has Sheetal returned for a permanent stay in his life?

Mine Forever is a kind of story that made me believe that the ‘forever-ever’ kind of love does exist. The narration is realistic. I felt connected with the protagonist and his feelings. The emotions are the striking features of this story. No matter how hard one tries, true love never dies!
Rating: 3.5/5 stars.

Memories
The protagonist has had a fatal accident and has lost his wife, Kavya, and his memories. No matter how hard he tries, he cannot recollect anything. Destiny plays games with him and gives him some clues which are related to his memories. Who wins this puzzle game?

‘Love’ is a feeling which either brightens or worsens life. What happens when a pinch of jealousy, hatred, and anger is added to this sweet dish? The outcome is devasting. I liked the mystery from this story.
Rating: 4/5 stars.

The Lies We Tell Ourselves
The protagonist, Rohan is mesmerized by Saanjh, his father’s friend’s daughter. During her latest visit, he learns that he is attracted to her. And, the attraction is mutual. Rohan and Saanjh make love to each other. And then, Saanjh goes away to Bengaluru. It is when Saanjh leaves that Rohan understands that he is in love with her. What happens next?

The Lies We Tell Ourselves is a beautiful love story that will tug your heartstrings. It will remind you of your old dating days. The author has beautifully portrayed the confused feelings, the nervousness, and the things one does when in love. This story will make you go all ‘awww’. A good read and it keeps you engaged.
Rating: 4/5 stars.

Love came calling again
‘Love came calling again’ is a beautiful tale of modern-day relationships. Riya is in a relationship with Karan which ended on a bad note. She is insecure and scared and that’s when Prince Charming enters her life. Will she be able to love again?

There are many ‘Riya’s’ out in the world, whom I personally know. This story seems like the one that has happened to most of us. It’s this connection that makes this story touch those chords. Again, it’s an engaging story having simple narration.
Rating: 3.5/5 stars.

Loves Lost is a collection five short stories themed around love and as the name suggests Love lost and err in some instances found again. The first story is about a painter who loves the girl he sees from his window and hopes that one day she will turn back to look at him. The second one is about a successful man who just won a prestigious award but awaits his estranged lover; as he keeps turning down the advances of his female colleague, will he reunite with his love?

The third story is about a man who lost his memory, and a haunting billboard, a connection which rakes the depth of his mind to bring back bitter truth about his dead wife. The fourth is about a young guy who assumes his love is not enough for his outspoken friend. The final one is about a young lady who hopes to meet her Prince Charming, yes, a stranger with that pseudo name online after having lost her real love.

While four of the stories are narrated from a male protagonist point of view, I am glad the final one was a female centric one. Few of the stories have an unexpected twist at the end, leaving the reader surprised. While some of them will be predictable if you are a staunch reader of short stories, one of them felt unrealistic and too fictitious for me. The backdrop for all the stories are urban and diverse. I would have also preferred more love and romance between the characters as per the theme.

If you are beginner and love to read short, simple stories, then you may give this a try, however they may not appeal much to seasoned readers.

“Loves Lost” is a beautiful collection of five short stories with a common theme “love”. I love reading love stories and these stories are quite different from all the love stories I have read before. I totally loved these wonderful short story collection. Each story has a different theme and different characters. Though it is a short book with around 57 pages, it gripped me right from the beginning.

I loved the author’s writing style. It is easy and very simple to understand. The characters in each of the five stories are beautifully portrayed. The characters are introduced to the readers in such a way that a reader can easily relate as well as sympathize with them.

As I have said earlier, this book is quite different from all the stereotypical love stories. The stories have some or the other twist or turns which keeps the reader hooked till the end. This book covers all the themes which are generally a part of love stories such as love at first sight, betrayal, eternal love, anguish, closures, second chances and reunion. It is commendable that the author has managed to capture all these themes and emotions in the stories flawlessly.

My favourite among the five stories is “My Summers with Nargis” which also happens to be the first story in the collection. It is a story of a painter who loves a girl he sees from his window and hopes that one day he will be able to unite with her.

Henry Van Dyke has rightly quoted, “Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.”

All of us has once fallen in love hard in our lives and it is a well-known fact that love isn’t invariably about the happy-good gooey feeling. Plus, it doesn’t necessarily mean to never feel angry, disappointed, hurt or jealous. But are you convinced that Love is all that it takes?

This feeling demands a lot to be put on the table and based on this very feeling is the book Loves Lost by Sourabh Mukherjee which is a collection of five short stories about Love. The titles of the short stories in the book are ‘My Summers with Nargis’, ‘Mine Forever’, ‘Memories of Another Day’, ‘The Lies We Tell Ourselves’ and ‘Love Came Calling Again.’ These titles are evident in themselves of the gist of the emotions connected to love in terms of betrayals, unrequited love, second chances and the connections lost.

Being a book of short stories, it becomes easier for the readers to read it cover to cover in just one sitting and to be engrossed as the topic itself is universally likeable. Although the book seemed intriguing by the looks of it but in my opinion, it was quite the opposite. The narrative was straightforward and predictable.

I am fond of reading love stories as they offer a window into the complexities of human emotions that allows readers to connect with relatable experiences of love, joy, heartbreak, and resilience.
I recently read this excellent book "Loves Lost" by Sourabh Mukherjee which is a collection of five heartwarming stories that shows the complexities of love within the context of materialistic urban life.

From a teenage romance evolving over the years to an entrepreneur finding solace in work and alcohol after losing love— the stories explore the fragility of relationships.

Author has place the twists and turns perfectly in every story and each one of them is very unique and interesting.

I personally loved "Mine Forever" which is about Sid, a successful entrepreneur who attends a party where he receives an award. Despite the achievement, he feels empty. But then he meets his love of life Sheetal who unexpectedly appears at the party. They share a moment of joy but suddenly an unexpected twist took place and left me amazed.

Author's writing style is so lively that it feels like watching a movie while reading the book.
I really loved reading all the stories and it's highly recommended for everyone.

A book that has it all!

Loves Lost by Sourabh Mukherjee

"Loves Lost" is a collection of five heart-warming stories about love lost, found, or left unprofessed in the deepest recesses of the heart.

The story follows a teenager in Kolkata who falls in love with a girl, an entrepreneur who loses his love, a man who lost his wife and memory in an accident, a young, insecure man who fears when the girl he loves breaks all contact with him, and a girl who meets a stranger online.

All these stories have a bitter, sad, or sweet twist to them that you won't expect. This is a short read, with under sixty pages. I didn't realize it when the pages flew by. I was engrossed.

The ways to love conveyed here will touch your heart, and of course you will have one favorite, just like I did. The writing was nice, unique, and poetic at times. It flew smoothly.

The characters were good, relatable, and will evoke emotions in you, be it new love, a second chance, one-sided love, or one with treachery. This book has it all.

The author has done a great job, and I would recommend this to romance and short story book lovers.

With simple language and in a plot of love as a theme, the author has bought five love stories in a different way. As the title of each story indicates, the related emotions are evident in that particular story connected with love in terms of various emotional journeys along with some twists.

The title is perfect and the cover is charming. The narration was very simple, direct and predictable. It will be very easy for the beginners. And it has very short pages to finish it off soon. There are some unexpected twists and surprises to enjoy reading. Also many places are easily predictable too. Romance part was little but the deep emotions are touched in each story to be connected with the characters.

All the stories are narrated in a male version and the last one is from a female voice which is very beautiful. Even the whole story and the narration was exciting to read and intrigue more about love. It was a really great work but looks very simple. All the stories are diverse.

A one-time reader to entertain you and take you to explore all the emotions in terms of love in a gentle way.

The stories, each a glimpse into the emotional labyrinth of love, portray characters navigating the delicate balance between intimacy and distance. "Loves Lost" is an engrossing collection of love stories, exploring the different facets of love. From the soft warmth of love to the pain of an heartbreak, the book is a rollercoaster ride through varied emotions.

In a collection of five stories, the book explores different shades of love. From the melancholy of lost love to the bliss of the first love. A twisted love story of revenge or a love story between two strangers on the internet, each story has a different theme, a different shade.

The stories stay true to the title of 'Loves Lost' with each exploring the loss of a loved one. But each walks an uncharted path with a unique twist in each one; some happy and some shocking, each elevating the story to another level. The writing is excellent, often poetic. The characters are well crafted and memorable like Karan, Riya, Saanjh; despite being part of a short story. Of the five stories, 'Love Came Calling Again' and 'The Lies We Tell Ourselves' were my favourite stories.

Overall, 'Loves Lost' is an immensely readable collection of stories that will keep you hooked till the end. A great read for short story lovers.

The book skillfully navigates themes of love, loss, and memory, drawing readers into the intimate lives of its characters. Through evocative prose and vivid imagery, the author captures the tumultuous journey of unrequited love in the protagonist's desperate yearning for a fleeting glance from their beloved. This longing is palpable in the scorching summer heat and the protagonist's relentless pursuit of a single moment of connection.

Through moments of drunken confession and heartfelt reflection, the characters grapple with the haunting specter of their past, each searching for solace in the midst of profound grief.

The way the five stories have been structured is quite amazing. While all of them are love stories, each of them have a track that shows that while the love might go away, it comes back in one form or another. The stories are told in an interesting and lucid manner, one that can keep the readers hooked. Each of the story has its own flavour that is quite amazing and that adds to the experience of reading this short book. The language is simple and easy to understand and with them being short stories, one can take a break and read, or binge it all together. The climax of all 5 stories is unexpected and quite innovative in the way it unfolds. My favorite among the stories is Love Came Calling Again as it was simply too cheesy to pass on to.

The characters are well crafted and well suited to the situations they have been put in. With just the right amount of detailing, they are what drive the story forward and it helps grasp the plot easily. In the characters that are a part of the book, the level of detailing is quite interesting and that is something which needs to be commended.

'Loves Lost' is a collection of 5 short stories that are based on love, hatred, heartbreak and loneliness. It is a 57 page novella that will for sure wrench your heart by the stories written by the author. Though I enjoyed reading all of the stories but 'The Lies We Tell Ourselves' had cute ending, which is why I like it a little more than the others.

Love is a complicated feeling (I feel so). Sometimes those few words of expression become heavy for us to tell in front of our love while we might unknowingly blabber a lot of things. Many at times we just silently admire that person staying behind the crowd and send our love through the invisible connection. We might be very bold or brave in many occasions but love makes us feel nervous. I felt all those mixed emotions in the characters of this book. It was a roller coaster of emotions to read them. Moreover, I also love the lyrical presence in the writing style. This form of writing is really beautiful and comfortable for me. Overall, I love this novella.
